I suggest you listen to I won't give up by Jason Marz while reading this. It helped me write this.

Nico finished telling Reyna how Jason had found out about his crush on Percy. Reyna stayed quiet. Reyna was supposed to keep watch as Nico and Coach Hedge slept, but Nico couldn't sleep and ended up telling her his life story after she told him her's.

"Jason is a good guy. You can trust him," Reyna finally commented.

Nico scratched the back of his neck. "I guess, but I thought you hate him," he told her.

Reyna shrugged. "I hate him," she agreed, "but sometimes you can't be blinded by your hate for someone to see how much of a good person they are."

The son of Hades nodded. "That is good advice."

"Thanks."

"So do you also have a crush on Percy?" Nico asked.

"Well, it's not really serious. Just a small phase. I'm over it," she confessed.

"Lucky," he muttered, "I wish my crush on Percy was a small phase."

Reyna, without noticing, brushed back the hair from Nico's eyes. "You'll find someone who's worth it," she told him.

Nico blushed, but Reyna didn't notice because it was too dark and there was no fire since the weather was already warm enough. "I hope so," he whispered.

"Believe so," Reyna corrected him. Nico looked up and smiled at her.

"What about you?" he asked, "don't you want to find someone?"

Reyna shook her head. "I'm done with boys."

"So you're moving on to girls?"

Reyna punched Nico's shoulder lightly. "Shut up," she said, but grinned anyway. "No, I might join the Amazons. I would be with my sister."

Nico's smile dropped. "Oh."

"Well, I might. Maybe I'll change my mind or if I even live through the war with Gaia," she told him, noticing his mood change.

"You're not gonna die," Nico stated, like it was a fact.

"Really? Do you actually know if someone is gonna die? Is that a Pluto thing?" Reyna inquired.

"Hades," Nico corrected her. Reyna noticed Nico had cracked another smile. "It isn't a Hades thing, but I believe you will survive the war."

It was Reyna's turn to blush. "Thank you. It's been long time since someone believed in something positive about me," she whispered.

"You're wrong," Nico said, "the seven believe in you. Your sister believes in you. I bet Bellona also does. I believe in you."

Reyna looked at him from the corner of her eye and smiled at him. "The guy who believes everyone hates him is comforting the lonely girl? How ironic."

Nico looked away. "It's true. People hate me," he told her.

"You're so blind. You can't tell the difference between love and hate," Reyna snorted. "Everyone was happy when you were able to bring Hades to aide them in the Titans War. They even built a Hades cabin for you. Hazel and Bianca -your sisters- love you, Percy loves you as a brother. Jason wants to protect you and show you that you do have friends you could trust. The rest of the seven trust you and I don't hate you."

Nico was a little surprised by Reyna's speech. "No wonder you are praetor," Nico commented, "you're amazing at speeches."

Reyna blushed and looked away. Nico noticed and smiled. "And you easily let flattery enter," he teased.

Reyna laughed. "No I don't," she confessed. "Only your flattery has ever won me over."

Nico's smile grew and Reyna smiled back. She noticed the tiredness in Nico's eyes. "Go to sleep di Angelo," she said, "you're tired."

"Whatever mum," he teased again. Reyna laughed. Nico lied down and his head rested on Reyna's lap.

"I hope you don't mind," he said, "but my neck has been hurting me for sleeping on the ground for the past few days."

"No, I don't mind. Sleep good Nico." Reyna's voice made Nico smile and he fell asleep.

I started shipping these two lately which is weird because I'm also a Leyna shipper. Still, since Reyna can't be with Leo, she can have Nico.
