AN: Hey everyone! This will be a filler chapter setting up Aki's arc in the next season. I know I haven't been writing, but now I intend to do more writing and I plan to stick with this story. More of my babbling at the end, enjoy this set up.

The night was silent, and nothing else could be heard except the wind. Aki sat in his hospital bed looking out the window contemplating everything that happened. The battle with Kuko left him fractured, it had nearly killed him. He stumbled out of his bed and went out into the hallway. He didn't know where he was going, he just knew he needed to go somewhere. Eventually he ended up on the roof of the hospital. He made his way to the edge of the building and looked down at the concrete. His mind began to race.

It used to be easy for me. My power was a part of me, it was… It was my very essence. Everything changed since the battle with Kuko. I'm scared to even try to use my abilities, what if I lose control? What if I hurt my friends again? What if I kill them? What if I become the monster I once was? Maybe it would be better if I was just gone.

A voice called out to Aki shaking him from his thoughts, "What are you doing?" The voice was female and it was soft and quiet. She asked as if out of concern.

Aki didn't turn around to look at the girl, he just stared up at the starry sky and tears began to fill his eyes. "It's all my fault. Everything. I thought I could handle it, but being back here and seeing everyone just reminds me of all the horrible things I've done. I tried pushing past it, for Kira and Lydia but I see it in Lydia's eyes. She's fighting with the fact that her best friend is gone, and her boyfriend is broken. I did so many bad things."

"Then make up for them." The girl replied, she made it sound so simple as if making up for all his mistakes was as simple as breathing.

Aki laughed a little, "You make it sound so easy. You couldn't even begin to understand all the things I've done."

The girl stayed silent for a moment as if gathering her thoughts, "You mean killing all those people?" Aki quickly turned around to finally face the girl, but no one was there.

"Who are you?" Aki yelled out at the air. The stars in the sky began to sparkle and began to take the shape of a little girl.

"Who we are is not important now. What is important is you Akihiko Yukimura. You did many terrible things, but that was not you. That was Kuko." The soft voice became an amalgamation of voices as if many people were speaking at once.

"I am Kuko!" Aki yelled at the star girl "He was a part of me, he is as much me as I was him. He was everything I didn't want to become, but I still have the capacity to become like him! I am a monster!"

"Your soul is still in conflict Akihiko Yukimura. Everyone has a monster inside, it is the inner battle that makes you who you are. You could become so much more Akihiko Yukimura, if you learn to be at peace with who you are." The star girl stood in front of Aki and tapped him on his forehead causing him to fall asleep. "Akihiko Yukimura, we of the Myobu have plans for you. We see battles coming your way, we will be watching you. Should you succumb to the darkness inside, we will come for you. If you succeed in finally accepting yourself, you will ascend."

Lydia entered the hospital and made her way to Aki's room, but on the way, she ran into Aki's doctor. "Doctor Eli. How is Aki doing? Is he making a quick recovery?" She was worried about Aki, it felt as if he was trying to distance himself from her. She was in pain over Allison's death and almost losing Aki made her pain that much worse.

"Ah Ms. Martin. Yes, your boyfriend is making a remarkable recovery." The doctor paused for a second and began to flip through his chart with notes on Aki. "There is one thing though, it happened just a couple of hours ago."

"What? Did something happen?" Lydia asked with concern.

"Nothing to be too concerned about. Having been in a coma recently, we decided to run some tests on Aki's brain as he was sleeping. It seems earlier tonight; his brain was experiencing a high amount of activity. This type of activity is common when dreaming, but the measurements we were receiving were higher than the normal range. We believe it to just be one of those rare occurrences."

Lydia took a sigh of relief and thanked the doctor for all his work. She finally made it to Aki's room and sat in the chair next to his bed. She reached out grabbed his hand squeezing it. "You had me worried there for a while Aki, but you're one of the strongest people I know. Your doctor tells me you're dreaming, I hope they're good dreams." Lydia brought Aki's hand to her lips and gave it a gentle kiss. As she did this the stars in the sky sparkled.

AN: Hey everyone! It has been awhile and I know I haven't been the greatest at keeping up a writing schedule, but that is because I lost interest in writing for a bit. Now I realize writing is something I enjoy, and if you don't take the time to do the things you enjoy then what's the point. I plan to continue this story, but there will be no set schedule. I want to take the time to write all of you a good story, something both you my audience and myself can look at and be happy about. Till next time!
