Chapter 6: A queen's request
A few days had passed since the ball and everything had returned to normal, the students and staff went about their daily business with the passing of the theft of the Staff of Destruction, the staff seemed to calm down seeing as there had been no repercussion from the palace. Though this was probably because of the quick recovery of the Staff thanks to John and the others. The commoner staff members were still praising him for showing the cowardly nobles how to get the job done, which John laughed about considering he had also belittled the nobles who just shied away from the job.
However, Louise's reaction to the news of Kirche and John getting together had been spectacular, the Toa (Takanuva, Pohatu and Lewa being the leaders) loved to recall the event and have a good laugh about it.)
Flashback
John had just closed the door as he looked to the main bed; he saw Louise wasn't on it but at her table in her nightwear. Looking up from whatever it was she was doing – John being in his own little world after getting together with Kirche – studied John's face which sported a large goofy grin and… was that lipstick?
"What's that on your face?" She asked him emotionlessly as she stared at him. A look of confusion being her answer she just pointed to the mirror with some level of annoyance. John walked over to the large mirror and studied himself. For a few seconds he couldn't tell what he was looking for before he saw a large red mark on his mouth… or more specifically his lips, realising what it was he took a quick glance at Louise whose eyebrow was twitching uncontrollably as her face was looking angrier with each passing second.
"Ah, that'd be from Kirche." He said slightly on edge as Louise continued staring at him.
"And why was she kissing you?" She'd now moved on to tapping her foot on the floor… rapidly… causing an indent in the floor.
"Well, we were dancing and we were talking about the past few days, anyway, long story short we're a couple now, isn't that great?" he explained with a large grin on his face at the end of it, before hearing a deep growl from the young girl in front of him. Snapping out of his daze John finally took note of the look on Louise… she was angry… very angry!
BOOM!
John crashed to the floor from the source of the blast. Shaking his head slightly to clear his head he looked up to the cause of the explosion, Louise, with her wand aimed at his face…. With a look of rage on her face, that would put a Gyrados to shame. Suddenly it clicked and John could only think of one thing. 'Shiiiiiiiiit,'
"Y-yo-you DOG!" She basically screamed out. "How dare you allow that Zerbst women to seduce you!"
John was still as the girl shouted at him with her wand aimed at his face. Louise's rage seemed to reach a peak during her 'dog wagging his tail at big breasted women' rant as her wand began to charge up with power once more.
John's look of horror would have been hilarious to see from any point of view but his own. His instincts taking over he rolled to the side just as another blast was created via the mad pinkette. Where he had been a large chunk of the floor was missing… a very large chunk.
Flashback end
John shivered as he recalled the event. Never had he seen such destruction over something so ridiculous. While he wasn't treated like a pet anymore (he'd made sure Louise understood what that had meant if she did try to.) John was careful not to anger her in case another one of her 'Temper Tantrums' happened again. Though this was difficult seeing as Kirche was very 'hands on' in their relationship. The occasionally wink at him from across the classroom or the increase in hugs she would give him, oh and the kissing can't forget that.
A few days after Louise found out about the new couple she had ranted at Kirche for a couple of minutes before a sly look formed on the red head's face, before suddenly grabbing hold of John, who was sitting next to her (where else would she be if she could help it?) and kissed him fully on the lips. Upon stopping John was once again sporting a smudge of lipstick as well as the goofy grin from the night before.
Louise seemed to have mentally shut down at the sight she had seen, mumbling things to herself as Kirche laughed at the smaller girl's reaction. John had come out of yet another daze as he realised what was going to happen once she got her mind back in order.
With a quick 'bye' to Kirche as well as kiss on the cheek –much to her delight- he made a dash for the nearest door. As he turned into the doorway he was sent tumbling to the floor as he had ended up colliding with someone who had been about to walk in.
After regaining his footing as well as dusting himself down he was able to see who he'd bumped into. Surprisingly enough someone he thought he wouldn't see again.
"Sorry about that, was in a bit of a rush, Agnes right?" John spoke as he pulled her up.
"Just be more careful next time Mr Roberts." The women replied as she also dusted herself down.
He chuckled awkwardly before answering. "Sure, and John is fine by the way." A nod was his answer. "So what brings you here, here to see Osmond?"
She shook her head before replying. "No, actually I'm here to see Ms Valliere and yourself, I was told this is where I might find you."
With a surprised look on his face he guided Agnes to the table he had been sitting at moments before, Louise had noticed him and from the looks of it shout at him before John quickly spoke up. "Louise, someone from the Palace is here to see us."
The emphasis on 'Palace' quickly put a stop to her would be rant, as she looked to the person behind her familiar she saw it was the women who accompanied the Princess as her bodyguard.
"Good day to you chevalier. What does the palace wish of us?" John gave her a weirded out look towards his 'master's' formal greeting.
"It is an important request from the palace, if you would follow me please." She answered in a no nonsense tone. Glancing at one another Louise and John gave a small nod of understanding and followed Agnes out to the waiting horse and carriage; though not the royal carriage it still blocked the occupants from view.
Time Skip
The journey had been rather quiet, Louise seemed content to just sit in silence rather than ask Agnes anything about why they were heading to the palace, and Agnes on the other hand just sat there motionless as though she had become a statue. John however went with a different approach and just decided to sleep the rest of the way after nobody had begun talking. However it was as they entered the capital that things took an interesting turn.
John woke to the sound of people in large groups talking to one another. Taking a quick peek outside the carriage he saw that large groups of the town's people were heading somewhere, to be specific, towards the palace. Turning to look at Agnes he asked what was going on.
"You'll see." She replied ominously with a slight smile bordering on sadistic. John leaned back slightly at the women's response.
Upon arriving at the palace the group of three stepped out of the carriage and allowing John to stretch his legs, once he was feeling more comfortable after the long journey Agnes then asked them to follow her indoors. A few minutes of walking later they came to a stop in front of a pair of large doors with designs similar to that of the royal carriage, knocking on the door Agnes opened them once being summoned in side.
The room was large both width and length ways, on the walls paintings hung depicting what John believed to be previous kings and queens of Tristain, along with other works of art. Towards the back of the Room stood the throne and on it sat Henrietta wearing the same attire as when she came to the Academy.
"Thank you for coming at such short notice." She said as she rose from her seat and walked towards them. As the duo were a few feet in front of her they came to a stop with Louise bowing slightly. John surprisingly gave a small bow out of his own respect for the princess.
"I want to thank you Louise Francoise, it is thanks to you and your friends that the thief was brought to justice."
Louise had risen as the princess spoke but then gave a slight bow as she responded. "Thank you your Highness, but I'm really not worthy of a title such a Chevalier."
"That's not true; you have done your country a great service, giving you the title of Chevalier is just a way of showing my thanks."
Turning to look to John she gave a smile before addressing him.
"I'd also like to thank you as well John, if not for you, the thief could have sold that weapon to anyone and if it could have been replicated…" John and Louise shivered at the thoughts of someone owning more of the rocket launchers; they would become a force to be reckoned with. "I'm sorry for not being able to grant a reward even though you did lead the group who captured Fouquet. I know that it's not much but please accept this as a token of my appreciation." She finished by raising her hand with back of her hand aimed towards John.
Realising immediately what the gesture meant he stepped closer and took her hand lightly in his, bowing slightly as he raised her hand towards him and proceeded to place a light kiss on the back of her hand, once he was done he released her hand. "It was my pleasure your Highness, but your thanks is appreciated."
She seemed a lot happier with that and her smile remained. She seemed to think for a moment before continuing. "Would it be possible to see the rest of the group who helped retrieve the Staff of Destruction?"
Realising who she meant he spoke to the occupants of the Taikoku, with a brief nod he quickly summoned them all forming a row in front of him With Tahu in the centre. The Princess studied them for a moment before giving a slight bow.
"Thank you all for stopping Fouquet. I would also like to thank you for your help with Count Mott, as well as offer my apologise for his 'activities'." A look of sadness was evident on her face.
"None of the blame lays with you your Highness; there was no way for you to know." Gali said trying to calm the princess.
"But as one of my subjects I am responsible for his actions." She argued.
"There's a difference between looking out for your people and invading their privacy." Onua spoke up. "If you are constantly looking over their shoulder you will lose their trust."
"Then how am I to protect my people if I'm unable to know what is happening within my Kingdom?" She asked.
"You can't." Kopaka was the next to speak, surprising most in the room seeing as the Toa of Ice was arguable the quietest of the group. The young princess looked at him as though she was angry at herself for knowing that he spoke the truth. Louise was about to start shouting at the Ice master before John stopped her with a movement of his hand wanting to see if Kopaka was going where he thought he was going with this.
"Not in the fairy tale sense at least. Since being here I've seen the way the lower class is treated by the 'nobles', it isn't right." His optic whirred for a moment as Kopaka looked at her intently, "But I'm sure you knew that didn't you?"
A look crossed her face that was somewhere between relief and shame. "Yes I did, and that is one of the reasons I wanted you all to be here today. I want you to go into the City and find out about the treatment of the peasants by the nobles. I've asked my advisors but I'm not sure they can be trusted on this subject."
"You think they are deceit-speak talking to you?" Lewa asked in his 'unique' way.
"I'm sorry? I'm not sure what you mean." Henrietta replied with a confused expression.
A chuckle rose from Pohatu "Tree-speak is Lewa's way of speaking as is with all Le-Matoran, you get used to it, what my brother meant was is that you think the nobles are covering for one another, lying to you." He translated.
Henrietta gave a nod in response. "They say that the nobles of the city are the 'the perfect role models for the peasantry', after this ordeal with Count Mott I believe that I can no longer trust them with this issue. Which is why I need your help, please find and route out the corruption that threatens my people." She finished in a dead serious tone.
Louise was immediately on one knee before the princess with her head bowed. "I would be honoured to accept this task you have given us."
A smile grew on the princess's face at the loyalty her closest friend was showing her before asking her to stand; looking to John she asked the question once more.
"I think I now understand the devotion that some of the peasantry has towards you." A slight chuckle escaped from him before looking at the princess dead in the eyes. "Yes, I'll help." A hint of steel was evident in his voice.
"Then you will need this." She began as she handed them a rolled up piece of paper. Louise opened it and gasped as she read. "That is proof of my mission to you, if a noble gives you trouble that will prove your claim."
Agnes glanced at the clock on the wall before speaking. "Your highness, it's nearly time." A sad nod from Henrietta was her response and Agnes left the room. Louise and John shared a confused look with the Toa watching the group.
"What's going on?" Louise asked.
"Something I never wanted to happen." Henrietta replied cryptically. "And the second reason I asked you here today, Mr Roberts especially. Look out the window."
With a raised eyebrow John walked to one of the windows aiming outwards from the palace and looked to the streets, a sharp intake of breath and Louise followed; upon finding what John was looking at she let out a gasp of surprise. The Toa stood silent, watching what was happening before them.
The area they over looked was a large courtyard with a large gate stopping the large crowd from getting in. John realised that this must have been causing the commotion as they came into the capital. Looking into the main square of the courtyard he saw a group of people in a row each carrying a rifle – a very old type from John's perspective – and in front of them… was Count Mott.
He looked different from when John saw him last. His clothes were the same, though torn in places and dusty, he'd lost weight judging from the way clothes weren't as strained trying to keep it all in, his face looked sunken from what he could tell as well as paler, if John could have seen the distance (Kopaka could with his optic) he would have seen the look in the counts eyes. Gone was the look of superiority because of his position, it was now replaced with utter defeat and recognition of his fate.
John knew what this was, even if he'd never seen it in real life, a public execution.
John stood there in silence watching as Agnes walked on to the square and stood to the side of the firing squad. Opening the scroll in her hands she began to read.
"Mott the wave, you have been found guilty of rape, slavery and treason. " The crowd seemed to get more vocal at the word treason, which was a surprise to both the Toa and John. Perhaps it meant their love was just that great for the Queen and the Princess, though John suspected it was more the latter than the former. Or perhaps it meant something more, sinister.
"For your crimes your lands have been stripped from you, your wealth taken and given to the very people you forced yourself upon." A loud cheer arose from the crowd but it was the next sentence that sent them into a frenzy. "And finally you have been sentenced to death, by firing squad." Her words were said with such surety you would think the 'man' would have been killed by those words alone. With that said Agnes rolled up the scroll and stored it away, before straightening up to her full height and cleared her throat. Silence reigned in and outside of the Courtyard.
"Ready!"
The squad readied their rifles.
"Aim!"
The Squad levelled their guns at the traitor.
"Fire!"
BANG
Mott dropped to the floor, dead, his head sporting bullet holes. The crowd cheered, happy seeing a corrupt 'noble' getting what they deserved, with Agnes returning in doors and the body was taken away by some of the firing squad. Within moments of the cheer finishing the crowd dispersed as they went back to daily life, John barely suppressed a chuckle as he thought it over, 'oh look an execution let's watch, oh it's over back to work,' however, another thought crossed his mind as he looked to the princess.
"I can't help feel there was a message hidden in that showing." The princess held his gaze realising what he meant.
"I assure you that was unintentional, I thought you would like to see the outcome of what you achieved by rooting out the corruption in this country, something I am very grateful for."
John looked back to the now empty courtyard for a while in thought before responding.
"I-thank you, I know I shouldn't be happy at the death of someone, but I am, he didn't deserve to live. It's closure, I suppose, so thank you." He finished with a slight smile. "Now on a lighter note I think we have some spying to do. However I'll need a laser watch, a Tuxedo and an exploding key ring. " Henrietta gave Louise a confused look who responded with slight shake of her headed before huffing something about 'stupid familiar's'.
Time skip
After leaving the Palace the new 'spies' had immediately gone to a nearby clothes store and bought some new clothes, Louise was now wearing a simple brown outfit with a beret like hat on her head of the same colour. John was now sporting black boots black trousers and a white shirt that was a slight bit bigger to complete the poor man look, Derf was strapped to his back.
The funny thing was once they'd bought their 'disguises' Louise had immediately wanted to buy a horse much to John's displeasure, no matter how hard he tried she would stop until she had been told the price of the horse making her finally realise it was a bad idea. Next she wanted to stay in a fancy inn but the price stopped her again. They were now walking through the town with the pink haired girl grumbling about everything being too expensive.
"Now that your 'ideas' have come up with nothing let's try my approach." John said with a hint of annoyance.
"That would be what exactly?" Louise replied angrily.
"The Pub." He answered simply
"The what?"
John just shook his head in annoyance at the different words for things.
"The tavern." He reiterated.
"You want to use the money the princess gave us and get drunk!" With each word she spoke she grew angrier her face slowly taking the colour of a tomato.
"To drink yes, get drunk no. information gathering 101, everyone has a looser tongue when their intoxicated." John replied in a tone that reminded him of a teacher speaking to a student.
"No. I'll do it my way." She said as she turned to walk away, but was stop when John called her to stop.
"In that case will go halves, we each take half and see who comes back here with the most information, we meet back here at sundown ok."
The young girl thought for a moment before nodding and handing him half the money. "But when I come back with more information I will expect you to beg for an apology."
'Bitch mode again? Jeez' he thought before responding okay to her. With their next plans decided they turned and set off to look for information.
Time Skip
John had finished gathering as much intel as he could from the taverns that he'd visited and was making his way back to the meeting point noticing Louise was already there so he increased his step. Upon getting closer John noticed that Louise looked upset.
"So… how did it go?" he asked but had already guessed the answer from the look on her face.
"iusedallthemoney." She mumbled too quickly for John to comprehend.
"What was that?" he asked confused.
"I LOST ALL THE MONEY!" she shouted at him in anger, at him or herself john didn't know.
John quickly sat down next to her and put his arm around her in a comforting manner at the look of distress on her face, he began to rub her arm to try to get her to calm down.
"Okay, tell me what happened."
Louise took a calming breath before answering. "I lost it at the casino."
"Why were you at a casino?" a look of shock was on his face at her answer.
"The man said I could make more money. I thought it would be good if I could bring back more money for the Princess."
John gave a loud sigh before he responded. "Right, well I guess that's something. Okay we'll use the money I've left and try and find a place to sleep for the night; from there we'll plan our next move."
Louise gave a slight nod before looking him in the eye. "What about you, what did you find out?"
John chuckled slightly before answering. "Well one thing's for sure; they sure know how to drink. The amount of rounds I bought was insane, and a lot of it ended up making toasts to me and the guys, though they didn't know it was us, they really didn't like Mott. Though I did find some interesting stuff out, apparently the tax collector is a right knob around here, any business that displeases him ends up getting taxed big time."
Louise thought for a moment. "Did you get his name?"
"No I didn't, everyone –myself included- were too busy drinking, hehehe didn't know I could drink that much, never been much of a drinker."
A slight glare was the response before she asked to see what amount of money he had left. Reaching into his pocket he took out all the coins left over, about fifteen coins left over. Louise's eye widened at the sight.
"You idiot. There's not enough here for us to sleep anywhere." She shouted at him angrily jumping up from where they were sitting.
"Well how was I supposed to know how much all this was worth if you don't remember too well I'll remind you, I'm not exactly from around here." He growled out in anger at her. She gave a hurt look from the dig at her from taking him from his previous life.
"Tres Bien!" The two turn towards the source of the noise expecting a woman from the feminine tone. In front of them John could only think that it was a nightmare of some kind come to life. Before them was a man who was built a bit like Marteau but that was where the similarities end. For one he wore very tight short shorts that revealed large amount of his hairy legs. Worse still he had on a top that barely covered his upper chest revealing large amounts of his hairy chest. But oh no in John's mind – and most likely Louise's as well – his face was the worst, he wasn't hideous per say it was the fact that he had large red lips, as well as a moustache and had large eye lashes as though he'd used makeup on them –he most likely had – and though was standing away from he was 'dancing?' on the spot as he observed the two of them.
John's hand had never moved to Derf faster than it had then and quickly withdrew him going into a defensive stance waiting for the 'guy' to even twitch wrong in their direction.
"Bonjour, as you can see I am no one suspicious at all."
"Bullshit, from where I'm from you tick all the boxes to the contrary. So back off before I get 'defensive'" The young man's grip tightened ready to strike.
"Non, non, non you see I overheard you are looking for a place to stay. My name is Scaron and I run a Tavern just down the road from here." He said moving towards them in his 'unique' manner.
"Place to stay, check. Food, check and a way to gather information, check. Ding Ding Ding we have a winner." John thought to himself before responding to the strange man now known as Scaron.
"Okay, but what's the catch." He said slightly standing down seeing as this could be a break for them.
"You just have to do one thing for me."
Time Skip
"Now girls can I have your attention please." Scarron called out to the workers of his tavern. Contrary to what John had believed, the tavern wasn't like the ones he had spent the day in, this one had serving girls, each wore an outfit each that had a skirt that stopped half way down their legs, giving customers a nice view of the rest of their shapely legs. The main section of the outfit helped draw attention to their rather full breasts and had gloves that went from their upper arms to bottom of their middle finger allowing a full view of their hands as well as making sure they would have a firm grip of the drinks that they would serve the many customers that would visit once the tavern. Each girl would have a different coloured dress, such as a light pink or even purple.
"Yes Mr Scaron." Was the reply from the girls as they stood in the middle of the serving area.
"Non, Non, Non, what have I told you to call me while in the shop?"
"Me Mademoiselle." Was the collective response.
"Tres Bien. Now I'd like to introduce a new girl today. Oh new girl come and say hello."
John drowned out the rest of the conversation as he turned to his job in the Tavern. Louise had been given a white version of the tavern outfit, which actually made her look very cute… she just needed a slight attitude adjustment to the whole idea of working. Anyway John had on the other hand been assigned to cleaning duty, sweeping the floor before opening and after closing but mainly washing dishes and cups. Though he did have some company, in the form of Scaron's daughter called Jessica. Now get rid of any image of what you believe someone like Scaron would have as an offspring. Surprisingly to John she shared quite a few similarities with siesta, black hair (though long in this case) and her face looks like a slightly more mature Siesta – taller as well- John even thought they might be related to one another but thought it was too much of a coincidence so he didn't say anything. He was dragged from his thoughts as he heard Jessica talking to him.
"Sorry zoned out there for a second, what did you say?"
"I said that you have a rather cute sister."
"Er, cute, riiiight." A hum was heard from Jessica at his response.
A Few Days later
John had been going crazy, for days he'd been scrubbing dishes and sweeping the floors. When he thought about being a spy this was not what he had in mind, okay he knew that it wouldn't be that glamorous but seriously, nothing had happened, no information or anything.
'well, there's only one thing to do in a situation like this.' With a good while before he was needed again for work he headed back to the room.
Time Skip
Louise had been told to go get her 'brother' - 'seriously who came up with that idea we don't look anything like'- because they would be opening soon. Opening the door without knocking she came across a scene she didn't expect to see.
"W-wh-what are you doing?!" She near shrieked not expecting to see this upon opening the door.
"louise? Knock next time for god sake." He said to her upon looking at who was at the door.
"H-how dare you do something like this when anyone could walk in."
"That's why you knock before going into a room, look give us a minute to finish."
After a few seconds he spoke. "Alright show hands."
The other Toa revealed the cards in their hands with Kopaka having a very slight smirk on his face. For the most part no one had anything, though john had a pair and Pohatu had a full house but the five card river had been way too good for the Toa of ice to the disbelieve of all participants.
"Royal straight flush." Kopaka answered as he threw them down. John couldn't believe what he was seeing. The best hand of the game and Kopaka had got it on his second time playing the game.
"H-how, you lucky git, how!?"
"It seems our icy friend is truly gifted with luck when it comes cards wouldn't you agree." Onua spoke to the others in the room.
"It would seem so Onua." Tahu replied as Lewa and Pohatu nodded sagely at the Toa of earth's words.
"I'm going to teach you to play Koli one of these days John, understood?"
"Hey don't get mad at me Takanuva, just because you have absolutely no poker face, any way I wasn't the one with a royal straight flush. Anyway we seem to have annoyed Louise." Turning from the game to Louise he asked what the problem was.
"Your needed downstairs we'll be opening soon."
John groaned in annoyance. "I bloody hope something happens tonight I'm getting restless, if a bar fight happens I'm going to join in, I'm serious."
"There's no chance of that happening and you know it. Scaron would stop it before it starts." Louise retorted.
John gave a hum in agreement. "Probably had to stop a few potential fights thanks to your less than five star service." He answered back as he got up, the Toa returning to the Taikoku. Louise fumed in silence as they headed downstairs to their respective stations.
Time skip
John was in the back cleaning dishes with Jessica when the door flung open a large man in a white shirt, with a green jacket over it the buttons almost straining to contain the bulk of the man over his back he wore a red cloak, walked with him were four guards. John had turned at the sudden noise and studied the room and immediately felt the mood in the tavern hit rock bottom, all the men who had been admiring the view while having a drink now all had looks of unease as they saw who had come in (a noble obviously but who in particular john had no idea). Even the staff shared the same looks.
"Well well Scaron, it looks like your business is doing very well." The man called as he observed the place. Scarron was quick to move from his spot half way across the room to meet the man.
"Oh Lord Turenne, I'm afraid your mistaken, this is a rare day, normally it's so empty you can hear the crickets outside."
"No need for excuse, today I'm here as a customer." The now identified Turenne responded.
"Unfortunately all the seats are taken at the moment as you can see."
Turenne looked about the place with a sly smile on his face before responding. "It does seem that way to me." He said before clicking his fingers. Immediately his guards came forward withdrawing their wands. In response the customers got out of their seats had made a quick exit rather than being hit with whatever spells the nobles could cast at them, meanwhile all the girls had backed off to the other side of the room.
Within moments the fat noble had sat down before letting out a boisterous laugh before speaking again. "It seems you were right Scarron, it is barren in here." He laughed again at his 'joke'. Scarron just laughs uneasily in response.
"So, who is this guy?" John asks Jessica as he looked at the scene before him.
"That's Turenne, the Queen's Tax collector; he's nothing but a crook, he'll spend all night fondling you and not pay any tip, worse still businesses have to be careful with him otherwise he increases the tax on them, making him completely untouchable." Jessica answered before quickly looking at John as he she heard a dark chuckle escape him.
He gave a glance before speaking quietly. "Not for long."
Back with Scaron and Turenne it seemed the fat noble was getting impatient because no one wanted to serve him.
"Well, will no one serve the Queen's Tax collector? Scarron get someone to serve me now. After all we can never be sure when the next tax raise may happen, now do we?" At that Scarron began to sweat bullets and began to look to his girls unhappily as they were huddled the corner hoping to avoid their fate.
"Yeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssss!" Everyone turned to look to who had made the noise. Surprising to Scarron, Jessica and the girls (except Louise) it was John (the new guy to some) who had made the large outburst.
"Oh thank you so much, do you have any idea how bored I've been, waiting for some noble to come in here and fuck up." He laughed happily before continue. "You know what? I'm in a happy mood so I'll ask a question to the four guys behind you." The guards looked at each other in confusion before looking towards the strange man. However Turenne spoke out before anyone could go further.
"How dare you interrupt my time here, Scarron do you know this man?"
"I'm sorry Lord Turenne, he's new here and doesn't understand how things work here."
Turenne seemed to think for a moment before respond. "Get him out of my sight now and I will forget this happened, oh and free drinks as well, I believe that to be fair, don't you think."
John had never seen Scarron look so defeated as he had at that point as he made his way towards John. However John stopped him by raising his hand.
"Scarron go stand by the girls. Keep them safe, I'll handle this idiot. " Scarron just gave a look of confusion before trying again to move John out of the way but the young man wouldn't have it as he continue on as he look the man dead in the eyes. "Scarron trust me, please. This guy will never bother you after today I swear and no harm will befall this place afterwards, this I swear. So please go to the girls, keep them out of the way, that is your priority now. Go!"
Scarron didn't understand but looking towards the girls he noticed the new girl – Louise – look at him with steel in her eye nodding in agreement with John. Uneasily Scarron made his way over to them before turning to look at what was happening.
"Now." John addressed the four guards again. "Which of you guys don't like your job? Or a better question would be who here hates Turenne?" Turenne sputtered as he looked at his guards. Though none of them made no move or sound at the question. Turenne turned to look at the young man again with a vicious smile.
"well it looks like you have no one to help you in this if you were looking for a fight." Now it looks like I'll have my guards beat you for disrespecting a noble." He laughed at his 'victory'. Scarron looked ready to intervene before Louise placed a hand on his arm shaking her head. Suddenly Turenne stopped laugh as he realised that the boy was now laughing, rather loudly it seemed, able to drown out all the other noises in the tavern.
Finally calming down John spoke once more. "Oh that's funny, what I was hoping to see was a couple of noble who still had some back bone. Well, there's no avoiding it now, looks like we are kicking all your asses tonight."
Turenne scoffed at that. "And how is a single peasant supposed to 'defeat' noblemen?"
John spoke as he began to fiddle with the Taikoku selecting what he wanted. "Now that is funny. You see where I'm from we have weapons that could wipe the floor with you guys before you'd left your houses, fortunately I don't have those and don't need them because I've got very interesting friends. You see the last noble I met who abused his power ended up dead just last week, thanks in part to me. You might have heard of him. His name was Mott." Gasps escaped many mouths at that second from the guards and girls as well as Scarron and Turenne. "Now let's get them."
ARMOUR ON POHATU NUVA
SUMMON TAHU NUVA
SUMMON LEWA NUVA
Immediately John was donned in Pohatu's armour. Tahu and Lewa drew their own weapons as they materialised either side of John.
Turenne got to his feet as quickly as he could before casting a wind spell at the man who had donned the brown armour but barely making him move as he braced himself against the attack. Pohatu John quickly felt the masks power flood him as he moved towards Turenne at blinding speed punching the fat noble in the stomach sending him crumbling to the floor.
Meanwhile Tahu who had engaged two of the guards had to quickly defend himself from attack as they launched spells at him, unable to dodge because the girls were behind him he used the Hau Nuva and stopped the attacks dead in their tracks to the horror of the guards. Tahu counter attacked with his sword alight as he quickly moved to slice the large sticks in the guards hands setting them alight in the process. The guards dropped them instantly before falling to the floor as Tahu swept their legs out from under them before crushing the wands beneath his foot so the fire would spread.
On the other hand Lewa was untouchable, or more to point he never gave them a chance to attack. Lewa created small twisters from his blades and sent both guards crashing to the floor in a heap their wands breaking under the pressure of the twisters.
All of this happened in less than ten seconds. Groans could be heard from the guards as well as Turenne. John looked at the group of nobles before turning to Louise. "Louise tell them what's going to happen now."
Louise walked forward withdrawing the scroll of paper the Princess had given them before showing it to Turenne whose eyes widened upon seeing the seal at the bottom. "Lord Turenne you are under arrest for abusing your power and making the subjects of Princess Henrietta suffer." She went over to the counter to do something with the scroll.
Turenne however stupidly tried to go for his wand but his hand was quickly pinned to the floor by Pohatu John's climbing claw, the blade cutting into his arm slightly, to be careful Turenne had his other arm pinned by the second climbing claw just in case.
"Well that went well. Successful mission in my opinion what do you think guys?" John asked the Toa.
"Spy-Stealth is not really your 'thing' is it john." Lewa said with a chuckle.
"A bit hot-headed for the whole thing I think." Tahu said.
John's jaw dropped. "Hot-headed? You of all people shouldn't be saying that." Tahu grumbled as Lewa (and most of the others in the Taikoku) laughed. "Louise, how's it going?"
"The message has been sent they will be taken away soon."
"Awesome. Now I think we should explain to these guys what is go… ing… on." John looked to the group as they stared at him in wonder as the Toa and his armour disappeared. Before suddenly the girls were holding on to him for dear life thanking him over and over again, even a couple of kisses were placed on his cheeks. Eventually it calmed down – with a very red faced John as a result - before Jessica spoke up.
"John… John Roberts. Is that your name?"
"Yeah, how did you know?"
"You rescued my cousin from Count Mott, I believe she said in her letter that you are her Lord now." A saucy smile graced her face before she finished. "A fact she is very happy with."
John's jaw dropped slightly. "Wait, you are related to Siesta. I… I thought it was a coincidence."
"Oh and how many people do you know who has a figure and looks like ours." She responded as she walked towards him. At the end of her sentence she crushed her breasts against him to emphasise her point the smile still present on her face.
A nervous chuckle escaped John. "Not many I suppose." Noticing movement out of the corner of his eye John dodge out of the way of Scaron as he tried to pull him into one of his 'enthusiastic' hugs. Before long John was running around the Tavern trying to avoid Scaron's hugs and kisses.
"Will you stop, I get you're happy, now stop please!" he cried as he continued to move away from him as the others laugh happily at the sight.
YES! At long last I've got another chapter out. Sorry for the delay, I've recently moved out of my parents' house and I've been busy with work (gotta pay them bills). Any way this chapter feels a little rushed to be honest, but I needed to break through the whole no writing thing so oh well. On the other hand I left out the whole tip race thing it wasn't necessary as Louise isn't the love interest and she knows Kirche's got John as a boyfriend now, so no point. On the point of pairs I've done a bit of rearranging. Kirche is of course one, and I will be taking another leaf out of Ten-Faced Paladin book (names will be used and kind of the same scenario, but it will be my work so I hope it's not a problem). Siesta I think should be another; it makes sense in my opinion (especially with the novels she reads). Henrietta is the next one. It's the whole point of breaking the walls between commoners and peasants and I think she deserve someone there for her. Why not wales then? Simple, I see it like this, when he dies Henrietta changes as a character, she grows up in a way. Already she has many responsibilities and while not completely naïve she does sometimes take things at face value (noble cover ups) after wales is gone she seems to crack down on everything as Queen (when she gets the chance). So in a way I feel it has to happen. Anyway for girls I think that will do (don't like super large harems, they get a bit crazy) but we'll see. Now on to your comments.
Telron – Glad you enjoyed it. I know right, just imaging Rakshi on the battle field. Everybody ruuuun.
CasualFictionWriter23 – She does now (Hahaha), glad you're interested in the story, hopefully I can keep it interesting as long as this goes on (I do plan to finish it, it's just I have other stuff to do as well as other hobbies).
Crash Overdrive – Ah, so that's their size, couldn't find it anywhere (probably no looking hard enough). I'll keep the same size as the golem now I suppose seeing as they'd be much smaller compared to the other golems and it'd be silly looking when the Kaita destroy something twice if not three time their size (or something like that). Yeah bionicle does need more love, great lore and characters I'm surprised it isn't used more often, ah well. Well I hope you'll continue to enjoy it from here onwards.
Pensuka – Glad you're enjoying it and I hope you continue to.
Now before I finish I best say that updates will be sporadic seeing as I've different things to be doing these days but next update will be my KR OOO X Fire Emblem story so may be a while before I return to this (not to worry I won't be years or anything). Have a nice day or evening (depending on when you're reading this) – Spartan 243
