Carrie sat in her hospital bed looking at her hands. After she was examined and cleaned of the blood, the doctors let her rest and asked if she wanted to see Rita and the other, who were waiting in the lobby. Carrie told him that she'd like a moment to herself and he nodded and told her to take her time. So she had been sitting there for a while, thinking about all that's happened today. From Chris and Billy, to Thor showing up, and her Mama trying to kill her. It was just too much for her to deal with as tears started to fall. Carrie didn't know what made her sadder only that she wasn't able to hold it in anymore. As she cried a cloud of green smoke appeared and out came a battered and beaten Loki. Carrie looked up with tear stained eyes and meet Loki's gaze. "L-Loki."

Loki dusted off his cloths a bit. "I came to check on you. My battle with that Dr. Doom gentlemen is over and my brother is cleaning up the mess with S.H.I.E.L.D., but are you okay?" Carrie wiped her eyes and told Loki what her mother tried to do. "I see. I should've thought she'd try something, but to do so in public." Loki didn't try to hide the anger in his voice. "I trust she's been dealt with?"

"Yay s-she's been arrested." Carrie looked at Loki and saw he was were a green tunic with black pants and black and gold armor, with a green cape. "So did you get your powers back?"

Loki held up his hand and show some magic surge through his fingertips. "Yes with your thanks it seems." Carrie looked confused as Loki continued. "It doesn't matter now. What does matter is what will you do now?"

Carrie looked down at her hands again as they gripped the sheets. She had no idea what she'd do now that her Mama was gone and that her secret was out. She'd likely end up in jail for trying to kill Billy and Chris or killed for have her powers known. Loki could see the fear in her making her shake and start to cry again. Loki walked over and rubbed her shoulder to calm her down. Carrie then reached out and hugged Loki while crying into his chest, Loki was stunned by this but just hugged her back. They stayed like that for a while until Carrie calmed down.

"Listen Carrie there is something I must attend to, but I shall return to you soon. I promise, for now I think you have some people who are waiting to see you." With that Loki teleported away to god-knows-where and left Carrie alone. Carrie then grabbed the remote next to her and pressed the 'Call' button. A second later a nurse came in.

"Is everything okay?" She asked. Carrie asked if she would let her friends come in.

Loki walked up to the large door of an even larger mansion. He had was about to knock when the doors opened and several people stood there to greet him with glares and one seated in a wheelchair. Loki seemly smiled and closed the doors. "I mean you no harm. Only wish to ask a favor." A few looked to the man in the wheelchair, who said nothing but nodded.

Rita was the first in the room and embraced Carrie on sight. "Oh thank goodness you're okay sweetie." Sue came in next with Tommy, Tina, and Heather in tow. "We were so we worried about you." Carrie looked around the room to see that everything looked relieved to see her.

Carrie pulled back and looked at Sue. "Sue I'm so sorry that I attacked you and that I almost hurt you."

Sue walked over and pulled Carrie into a hug. "Do apologize Carrie. It wasn't your fault remember so please don't feel sorry."

"Yeah it's not your fault Chris is an insane bitch." Tina added causing Carrie to giggle at her language. Carrie then thought of something and turned back to Rita

"What will happen to Mama?"

Rita balled up her fist at the mere mention of that woman. 'No that monster!' She mentally corrected herself. "She is going to prison Carrie where she will never hurt you again." She had excepted Carrie to be happy or glad that her mother was gone from her life, but the young teen just stared off with a blank expression. "What's wrong sweetie?"

"It's just that…I know what Mama did was bad, but I still love her and I'm not mad at her like I should be. I sound so strange don't I?"

"No way Carrie. That just means you're a much better person than any of them." Heather said while ever one else nodded in agreement. A knock came from the door and a woman and man walked in. She had long red hair and was dressed in a latex-like catsuit. The man had short straight blond hair and a quiver of arrows on his back while dressed in similar cloths. As they walked in the room, Tommy watched the woman as her hips swayed back and forth, earning him an elbow to the side from Sue and another from Tina.

The woman walked up to Carrie bedside and stood next to Rita. "Carrie White?" She asked with a stern expression while Carrie nodded. "I'm agent Romanoff and this is agent Barton. We are S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and would like to know what happened to Loki." Carrie was shocked that they knew about and that he was here.

"Excuse me Miss Romanoff, but Carrie has been through a lot can this please wait another time." Rita pleaded.

"If you're worried about us learning about her powers don't. We already talked to witnesses and her mother, so we know everything." Agent Romanoff assured.

That caught Carrie's attention. "You talked to Mama?"

"Yeah hell of a woman too. Love to use her for target practice though." Agent Barton joked and went silent when Carrie sulked and Romanoff and Rita glared at him. He backed off and when to question the other kids.

"You're not going to do anything to Carrie are you?" Sue asked afraid for her friend.

"No. Our investigation showed that she acted in self-defense from Billy Nolan and Chris Hargensen." Carrie breathe a sigh a relief now that she wasn't in trouble. "But we do need to know where Loki is."

"I don't know he came to check up on me, but he left a while ago and didn't say where he was going." Carrie wasn't a good liar and knew that the agent wouldn't buy her story. Just as she was about to continue questioning her, she stopped and placed her hand to her ear.

"Yes. Understood. Hawkeye let got Hill wants to see us immediately." Hawkeye, who was busy writing autographs for Tommy, Tina, and Heather, stopped and left with his partner. Carrie and the other just watched them leave, thankfully that everything went smoothly.

The sun began to set as Carrie looked out the window in her bedroom. After she was cleared to leave the hospital Rita said Carrie could stay with her for as long as she need to, but she asked Rita to drop her of at home first, much to the teachers wanting her to never step in that house again. Carrie said she only wanted to get something's then she'd call her and Rita would came to get her.

Carrie was gathering come cloths and a stuffed animal and put them in a suitcase. When she was done she walked down stairs and say Loki standing in the living room with an African-American woman and two men, one was bald and in a wheelchair and the other was hairy and looked mad for some reason. "What's going on?"

Loki walked up to Carrie and put his arm around her shoulder. "Carrie this is goodbye." She blinked at Loki in obvious confusion. "Even though my magic has returned my punishment has not. My father has summoned me so I must return, though I don't know exactly what he wants I have my suspicions. These people are going to look after you and protect you." Carrie looked at the people and back to Loki.

"Who are they?"

The man in the wheelchair approached her. "Greetings Carrie, My name is Prof. Charles Xavier and I run a school for gifted people like yourself." Carrie was unsure of the people in front of her and unsure if she could trust them.

"I'm not special." She said. 'I can assure you my dear. You are very special.' Carrie started to panic when she heard a voice in her head. 'There is no need to be afraid.' She look at the man once more. "Are you doing that?" 'Yes I am and I'm sorry but this seemed like the best to show what you truly are.' "What's that?"

"A mutant my dear." Loki answered. "And so are they and everyone at his school."

"A school of others like me." Carrie said in a whisper.

"Well each individual is different and unique, but yes they are like you Carrie. I'm here to ask if you would like to come live with us and learn to control your powers."

Carrie looked to Loki who simply shrugged. "This is your chose Carrie." Carrie thought about it for a while. She would be leaving Rita and the others, but she would learn to better control her powers and be around people like herself. With her mind made up she nodded to the professor.

"Yes I'll go, but could I say goodbye to my friends first."

Charles smiled. "Of course."

Rita was hugging Carrie while trying not to cry. "I'll miss you sweetie." Rita was just told of Carrie's plan to move to these school for gifted people and while she was happy for her, Rita was also sad to see her go. "Be sure to call me whenever and know that you'll always have a place here if you want."

"I will and thanks Ms. Desjardin." She let go of the teacher and walked to Loki. "And thank you Loki for all you've done for me. And I done think you're bad." She said as she leaned forward and kissed his cheek causing his to blush slightly and her face to light up. She walked over to Prof. Xavier and a large black jet in the street. She had seen so many things, but this was new. As they boarded the jet Loki opened a portal to Asgard and left Midgard.

He walked into Odin's throne room and was greeted by a group of guards. "Stand down men!" Thor boomed from beside Odin and Frigga. Loki walked passed the guards and stood in front of his parents and brother. "Nice to see you again after you abandoned me brother."

"Would you rather I stay and you explain what I was doing there in the first place?" Loki turned to Frigga and Odin next. "Hello mother, father to what do I own the summons."

Odin rose from his throne. "Loki you have shown that you are capable of redemption and as reward for this I've given you back you powers. You are to be forbidden for going to any of the other realms and are to be watched at all times until such a time as I choose." With that said Odin returned to his throne and Loki and Thor bowed and left the throne room.

Inside the dining hall, the brothers enjoyed a meal. "So Loki what happened to the moral Carrie White?" Thor asked as he bit a chuck of a roasted animal leg.

"I found her a safe place to live her life in peace with those like herself." Loki was drinking some wine and thinking about Carrie. "How did you do it Thor?"

"Do What?"

"Leave. You left Jane Foster and I doubt you've seen her seen our fight. How do you move on from that?"

Thor stopped eating and looked at Loki, expecting the trickster to laugh or jest, but Loki was serious for once. "It's not easy Loki nor is it fair, I have feelings for Jane Foster as I'm sure you do for Carrie White." When Loki said nothing Thor continued. "I watch her occasionally through Heimdall and wish to be with her, but I trust also know why I won't."

Loki nodded slowly. "It would be safer for her if you're not there." Loki got up and walked out the hall. Loki walked back to his room and used his magic to gaze at Midgard. Loki focused on Carrie's position and she was talking with children in the Xavier school. Seeing her smile and laugh was enough for Loki to be happy, even if he'd likely never see her again.
