Hey guys, MT here!
So, sorry about the late post. Meant to get it out before but I was spending some extra time on story development.
I got a few Reviews talking about how you guys expect what the chapters will be like lately cause of repetitiveness so I've tried working some out to mix up the story a bit.
The chapter's a little shorter than I would have liked but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it before I get to in depth.
ENJOY!
Chapter 75
The next day…
The group had just exited a World Door, leading into the garden in front of the Vatican building in Romania's capital. Saito, Asuna, Louise, Gwen, and Siesta were altogether, Asuna only being with them despite her exhaustion because of her refusal to separate from Saito.
As soon as they appeared, some of the guards stared in shock, but immediately recognized the group.
"Gandálfr-sama, what brings you to the Vatican?" asked one of the head guards after walking up to them.
"I needed to see Julio. Can you lead us to him?" asked Saito, a bit impatient. He still had to see Tiffa and Tenshi before they were all finally reunited and he didn't want to waste too much time.
The head guard saluted Saito, shouting out a 'Yes sir' and began guiding them into the Vatican building. As soon as they entered, they found Julio giving directions to a servant. The moment they entered, Julio glanced over and immediately ceased speaking as he took Saito in. After a moment, he put on his usual smile and walked over to the group.
"So Axel wasn't lying when he said you were alive. Good to see you, Saito," said Julio.
"Same here, Julio. I'm sure you know we're not just here to reassure you, though," said Saito, now getting serious.
"Of course. You're not so boring as to get caught up on the sentimentalities. The Dwarves have made their move, right?" asked Julio, beckoning them to follow them.
"They declared formal war on us and Otr, the third prince that we became friends with is most likely jailed after the king was killed and the first prince took over," explained Saito as they entered a sitting room.
"So the ally you made is no longer of use and the one who most likely instigated the king's downfall has become the king. No doubt, he is someone of an unkind nature. We'll have to be careful in this war. Sheer numbers will not be enough this time. Romania will begin preparations immediately," said Julio, seriously.
"That's what we need. We need to move on, though. We still need to visit Tiffa and Lord Bidashal in Elvenheim and Tenshi in Freiheitus. After that, we can really get ready for this war," said Saito, rising from the seat he had sat in, though it had only been for moments.
"Before you go, Saito, I actually have something you may want to look at," said Julio, pulling on a rolled wad of papers from his jacket pocket. "Do you remember that book we found with Vivlioflinger? And how it was in Dwarfish?"
"Was it finally translated?" asked Saito, curious.
"Yes. This is the translation. It talks about some interesting things. Completely different from the book you had obtained in Rivendell. This one is based more on the familiars themselves. I haven't gotten through much, but I thought you'd like to read through it when you had the time. All I know so far is that the powers of familiars were never meant to inhabit the same body. Meaning that you're an anomaly, my dear friend," said Julio, grinning a bit. Saito looked at him a bit confused but Julio didn't say anything more about it, instead just holding the wad of papers towards him. "Read it yourself, to find out. You should go soon, now. Not much time left with how much you still have to do."
Saito nodded and gave his thanks before watching Julio leave the room. Saito looked down at the papers and then over to Asuna.
"This is probably going to be important for us," said Saito, gesturing to the papers.
"Give me the summary when you finish it. I'm not reading that huge thing," said Asuna, joking. Saito smiled a bit, happy to see her recovering, even if only a little.
"Saito, we should move on. You can always read that later on," said Gwen.
"Alright. On, now, to Rivendell. Tiffa will most likely be there with Lord Bidashal," said Saito. Louise nodded and opened a World Door, the small group exiting through it.
After arriving at Rivendell, they met with Lord Bidashal and explained the situation. They also found out that Tiffa was presently visiting Tenshi in Freiheitus. While they rested and prepared for their final departure, Saito began reading the translation of that ancient book they had found.
Title: Familiars of God
Written by: Kovail Steruonkin
The great familiars of Brimir, Gandálfr, the Left hand of God, Vindálfr, the Right hand of God, Myoznitnirn, God's Brain, and Lifdrasir, God's Heart. Each one's powers are incredible and together, unstoppable. For those who live after the current generation, the true story and powers of the familiars will almost certainly be lost, because only we know of it and have no intention of speaking of it to others. I leave this record, along with the others, for those times where the world truly needs those who understand their full powers and can access it.
The truth of familiars who bear human semblance, the familiars who serve only the Void mage and none other, shall be revealed by going through the very beginning…
Chapter 1
Beginning with Gandálfr, the weapons master. Their incredible knowledge of weapons is because of the whispers of the innate power within them, as well as the basis of their power and existence. Sasha, the first Gandálfr to ever exist, was a young elven warrior. She was extremely powerful, even prior to becoming the familiar of Brimir and, although I fear she will be the end of my good friend, I know that she and all future Gandálfr shall be the so called 'savior' of Void. Prior to becoming Gandálfr, Sasha met with Brimir. Familiars due to personal contracts between wizards and intelligent creatures had existed prior, but never had there been between humans. It was impossible, because of the innate magical presence in all humans. Sasha wished to serve Brimir after they became comrades and Brimir wished to try and make her a familiar. In order to do so, she would have to have something inside of her very being, that could be contracted with. Sasha and Brimir thought for much a time and finally decided on something powerful enough to become the centerpiece of the contract. The demon warrior known as Azazel.
Azazel was a demon god who had roamed the vast plains in Halkeginia, slaughtering all he saw. He was very intelligent and a master of all weapons. Brimir and Sasha had made a bet that if they could beat him, Sasha would absorb his being into her, and his personality would be erased. Azazel, intrigued by the power the two exuded, agreed to it. He never believed that, after a long, bloody battle, he would be defeated. He accepted his fate, though, and Sasha consumed him. All the powers and knowledge he had as a demon god was absorbed into her and became her own. Brimir then created a special contracting ritual and carved runes into her hand that read 'Gandálfr'. The first familiar was born.
So? What did you guys think?
I hope that this 'revealing the familiars' thing is enjoyable. I've been thinking about expanding on the lore for awhile but I hadn't really had any revelations until now. I hope you like it and I would appreciate some Reviews on whether or not it's 'Zero no Tsukaima' enough to be in the story.
I hope to have the next chapter out within two weeks but don't hold me to it. Until next time...byeee :D
