Mack's POV

After saying goodbye to Alyssa and watching her walk away, I immediately snuck a glare at Lela.

"What are you doing here?!" I questioned, rather too harshly. She flinched a little then shrugged right back.

"I followed you all the way here. Brady told us that you had gone shopping with a friend and I wanted to surprise you! So…surprise!" Lela squealed at the last part. Mackenzie sighed and flashed a smile at her and held her by the arms.

"Lela. I love you." She began. "But you have to be careful walking around places you have no clue where they are. It's highly dangerous. You could get noticed."

"Why is it dangerous for people to see me?" Lela asked in suspicion. "I want the whole to see me!" She exclaimed melodically and swirled around.

A couple of passerby's were staring at Lela with a strange befuddled look in their eyes as they watched her play giddily with the pigeons. She squealed when they flew away.

I widened my eyes.

"Um…well…for starters, where I come from, none of us sing on queue." Mack said. Lela pouted her bottom lip as she stared at me.

"Not even in sunny happy days where you just want to jump, dance and sing?"

I shook my head.

"Not even then."

She moaned.

Then I realized something.

"Wait…when you said 'us'? What exactly did you mean?" I asked her.

My questions were answered when a voice came up from behind.

"I think I've got an answer for that." Brady stated and I spun around to see him standing with Tanner, wondering around.

The moment Tanner and Lela locked eyes. They widened their eyes and ran up to each other with huge grins and threw each other in each other's arms.

"I missed you more than the sunny skies and blue water waves of mankind!" Tanner said emotionally.

"I miss you more than the melody of the birds chirping during dusk!" Lela squeaked as she and Tanner stared into each other's eyes. They cooed in sync.

"Wait…so if you're here with Tanner, and I'm here with Lela…then where are the others? I questioned.

Brady thought for a moment before widening his eyes and groaning.

"You left them in the house alone?!" I seethed quietly.

That explains why Lela's out and about!

Brady shushed me.

"Wait. I remember telling them if they're in any kind of trouble. They should use the landline." He told me.

Oh rich!

"Now, that solves the problem doesn't it?!" I told him sarcastically. I sighed. "Do they even know how to use it?"

He shrugged.

I rolled my eyes.

Stupid question!

"Whatever, we'll deal with this later. But what I want to focus on now is how we're going to keep sight of them without them being missing like Giggles, Struts and Rascal!" I told him.

How do we keep tabs on the gang without them running around every 5th second?

Then Brady clicked his fingers.

"I know. Why don't we let them go to school with us so that we still keep an eye on them whilst having a wonderful day of learning?" He suggested the last part with satire.

"I don't know Brady. It sounds like a risky move." I told him.

"Hear me out. It's a perfect idea. We're in a high school filled with Teenagers who know nothing about the 19th century!" Brady said.

"20th century." I corrected him. He rolled his eyes.

"It doesn't matter. It's a good idea, we won't have to worry about them disappearing like Giggles and Rascal and it'll give them a chance to fit in with the crowd." He told me. "It's a good idea. Plus they might just do good in school."

"Well." I whispered back as I stared at Tanner and Lela playing with the pigeons.

"Well what?"

"Its do well, not good." I corrected him. He widened his eyes.

"Oh god,"

I giggled.

"But what I don't get is how they're going to fit in with the crowd. I mean. Their outfits aren't exactly 21st century material Brady," I pointed out.

He nodded in understanding before clicking his fingers together as a thought popped up in his head.

"We could give them a makeover!" He suggested. I raised my eyebrow at him. "It's basically just like in the movie. Where the Bikers and Surfers would always drift from their usual outfits to something sophisticated." Brady said.

I shook my head lightly, contemplating whether or not to believe that this whole arrangement would work.

"Think about it Mack. Wouldn't you want to spend the last few days with the gang when we might never see them again?" He questioned.

I screwed my eyes at Tanner and Lela for a minute and thought to myself,

Maybe Brady was right. What was such the hurry to get everyone back to 'Wet Side Story' when this could very well me the last time I'd ever seen them.

I stared up at Brady and nodded.

"Okay,"

… …

Lela, Tanner, Brady and I were at the boutique store, trying out some modern day clothing and after going through a series of misses –some of which Brady was crazy enough to like – we came with the right set.

We then made our way to the Beauty Store, where we got both Tanner and Lela's hair done –we found it difficult finding the store with Lela and Tanner disappearing every fifth second.

After all that was done, we made our way back to the house where we found the living room looking like a pigsty and the gang looking embarrassed as we caught them.

They all pointed at each other accusingly as to see, they did it.

After getting the gang to bed that same night, Brady and I collapsed on the couch. I released a sigh.

"Long day huh?" guessed Brady.

I tapered my eyes and nodded. He chuckled.

"I think I saw Giggles earlier." I told him. He widened his eyes.

"That's great! Where is she now?"

"Well I think I just saw a glimpse of her but…I think we're getting closer to getting everybody." I told him. He smiled.

"But we can have fun with them whilst getting them to that point?" He asked.

I smiled as I watched Lela nuzzled up in Tanner's arms, wearing a pair of my pj's.

Deep down inside, I was extremely ecstatic to see the gang back.

"Yeah,"

First Day of School

Brady's POV

The moment Mack and I stepped out of the school bus with a very interesting pair going by the name of Lela and Tanner, we began walking up the schoolyards.

The moment we stepped foot on the yards, all eyes were on us, specifically on the new kids.

It's a good thing it was easy to enroll the two in the school as Lela went under Mack's cousin and her grandfather's granddaughter and Tanner as my half-brother.

"This is such a beautiful palace!" Lela exclaimed squeakily. I scoffed.

"More like prison." I whispered. Mack nudged me by the stomach. I shrugged.

"Such gorgeous trees that I've never seen!" Lela exclaimed as she ran up to what she was amused about.

"Those are school poles Lela." Mack corrected with a small smile. Lela banged them with her knuckles.

"It's a metal tree!" She gasped.

"Do you think we can pull this off?" I asked Mack. She shrugged.

"I'm not sure what else we can do."

"Tanner come look!" She called out as she motioned to come over and see the can of Pepsi lying near the trash. I stopped them and grabbed Tanner by the arm and wrapped mine around his shoulder whilst Mack grabbed Lela by the arm.

"Why are there so many people?!" Lela gasped.

"And why are they all dressed in tighty-tight-tight! Whoa! That cannot be healthy." Tanner said as he stared at the girl wearing skinny jeans.

"It's fashion." I told him with a smile.

"So first things first: A few ground rules: Lela, you're my cousin from Nebraska, your name is Araya and you're a senior in this school. You'll be with me at all times!"

"And Tanner, you're my half-brother." I told him.

"High school can be a little rough these days here."

"So people here are really picky with who they approach." Mack said.

"So keep an open mind."

"You've got two brother's beside me." I informed Tanner.

"And your brother's Butchy!" Mack told Lela.

"Yay!"

"Aww, how come she gets to have Butchy?" Tanner frowned.

"That's because they're brother and sister! Anyway…" I retorted and we let the pair sit down on one of the benches.

"Don't do anything that gives you guys away!" I murmured to them. They nodded.

"And also that thing you do with your teeth…" Mack told Tanner, who demonstrated. We shook our heads.

"Yeah, don't do that." I warned him.

"Don't draw attention to yourselves basically."

"I don't know if you guys were thinking it but why are we lying?" Tanner asked as they got up. Lela gasped.

"I was totally thinking that too!" She told him and they stared at us accusingly. We set them back down.

"No, no, no. You're not lying just think of it as lying…think of it as…expressing yourselves better." Mack explained.

"Wow you're good." I whispered in her ear. She smiled.

"Thank you."

"Most importantly…No singing…"Mack and I whispered to them.

They got up again.

"Not even from the heart and moves the story along?" Lela asked as she referred to the entire story being whirled up in a song.

Brady and I stared at each other before turning back and shaking our heads.

"No." I said.

"Just no singing…period,"

They pouted.

I stared at them sympathetically…well empathetically because I can relate to them in a strange way…

"Okay maybe a little." I told them. Mack punched me in the stomach. I shrugged. "What?"

They widened their eyes and soon got up and soon as we knew it, they were forming a flash mob, with singing and dancing a few people joining in with the rest thinking they were crazy.

We watched them skip away…

Mack and I shook our heads.

This was going to be an interesting week…
