Percy pulled the door open slowly, revealing Luke standing there holding a suitcase with his father behind him holding some other bags.

"Hey Luke."

"Jackson."

Percy opened the door wider allowing Luke access and closed the door behind his dad.

"Hi Percy, how are you?"

"Good thanks Mr. Castallen, and you?"

He chuckled, "Im good thanks Percy. The tension in this room though; I wish Annabeth luck."

Percy chuckled awkwardly and showed Luke to his room, where he would be staying.

"You can just, dump your stuff in there and make yourself at home."

"Thanks," Luke grunted out.

Mr. Castallen checked his watch and frowned. "Boys ill have to be off, but have a good assignment and call if you need anything; either of you." He said pointedly. He roughled Luke's hair much to Luke's disgust and left the apartment with a grin on his face.

"So um, yeah you can just unpack, I'll be watching tv."

Percy left Luke's rooms and flopped on the couch, hoping that Luke took a while to unpack. He finally emerged around half and hour later and sat on the couch. Percy raised a eyebrow.

"You can stretch out if you'd like, if your going to live here for a month you may as well be comfy."

Luke nodded and sprawled out across the couch, looking at the tv with glassy eyes.

"Annabeth here yet?"

"Nah, she'll probably be here in about 40 minutes."

"Cant wait."

"Luke, seriously just leave her alone. She doesn't want any crap from you."

"Oh and you know that how?"

"Because I talked to her."

"And you just know her so well, after knowing hr for a total of what, 2 weeks?"

"Probably still better than you know her."

"And you think I don't? I was close with her in early high school, even when you were there. Trust me, she'll come to me."

"So exactly when did she start hating you?"

Luke clenched his jaw.

"When was that?"

"When you left jackass."

"Why?"

"I don't know, how should I?"

"Well surely you remember her telling you off when you offended and insulted me in front of the whole school."

"When?"

"Yes, you act dumb very well Luke."

"Almost as well as you do."

"That's not even offensive Luke. Please think through what your saying BEFORE you say it."

"Are you calling me stupid?"

"Nope, you came up with that one by yourself."

Luke stood up and pulled me up by my collar, pushing our faces close together.

"Think your funny do you?"

"No I –" but Percy broke off as Luke threw his fist towards Percy's face, Percy trying to dodge it but failing as it connected with his jaw.

"What the hell! What did I ever do to you?"

"You existed, Percy." With a growl, Percy pushed Luke backwards, sending him sprawling on the ground. Luke stood up and lunged at Percy, but Percy pushed him had which sent him flying into the couch. Luke stood up, enraged and kicked Percy's thigh, moving in to punch him, but both boys froze as they heard a knock at the door. Percy stepped out of Luke's grasp and wiped his nose, before heading to the door. He pulled it open to reveal Annabeth, standing there grinning.

"Hey Perce, how are – what happened?"

Percy rolled his eyes and stepped back to allow Annabeth to enter, who swept her eyes across the room and noticed Luke also panting heavily and sporting a few bruises.

"Jeez, you couldn't even last an hour, before you had a fight?"

"He started it," Percy mumbled. Annabeth glared at him.

"What are you, 4?" Luke snorted. "Oh, and don't get me started on you Luke, why the hell do you insist on being a dickhead? What did Percy ever do to you, and why do you still have this strange mindset that I will date you? GET OVER YOURSELF!" Both boys stared at her in shock.

"Yes, I just yelled at you. Lets move on. Percy am I staying in that room down the hall?"

"yeah, here Ill grab the rest of your stuff," he muttered as he collected the stuff from the hall outside his apartment, closing the door behind him. He deposited the stuff on Annabeths bed and returned to the couch where he glared at Luke. Annabeth returned 10 minutes later in black sweatpants, a grey tee shirt and her blonde hair pulled into a messy bun.

"That was quick unpacking."

"Oh, no, I didn't really unpack. I couldn't trust the 2 of you out here alone."

"Fair enough."

The 3 of them lapsed into an awkward silence. "So Annabeth, why didn't anyone drop you off?"

"Because I wanted to arrive as soon as possible, and mum is busy at the moment, though dad doesn't really care."

"Cool." The trio decided to watch a movie, and settled on watching 22 jump street on Netflix.

Halfway through the movie, Percy stood up and stretched.

"Im hungry,"he announced, "what do you guys want to order?"

"I don't mind," Annabeth called.

"Whatever," Luke called roughly.

"Ok then, what about…souvlakis? Theres this awesome place down the street that delivers."

"Uh, sure. Can I please have a lamb one?"

"Yeah, Luke?"

"Yeah lamb."

"Ok." Percy quickly ordered 3 lamb souvlakis and 3 servings of chips, before turning back to the movie. They continued to watch, until finally they heard a knock at the door. Percy rushed to open it and handed the boy the money, and sat back down on the couch, food in hand. After dispersing the food around they ate in silence, occasionally making awkward eye contact with each other. Long after the meals were devoured, the movie finished and they sat in awkward silence. Finally Annabeth huffed loudly.

"I swear, if its going to be this awkward for the rest of the project then I will cut my hair off. Come on! Lets talk."

Luke rolled his eyes. "Fine, lets set our own ground rules. The parents set some, but we can discuss changes we want to make."

Annabeth groaned, 'Luke, it is remaining, a rule, that you are not allowed to have sex with me! Sleep with whoever the hell you want, but don't even try with me!"

Luke glowered angrily at her. "That wasn't the rule I was referring to!"

"Then what was it?" Annabeth counted angrily.

Luke glared at her before stalking off to go to the toilet. Percy grinned at Annabeth.

"At least he'll be away for half of it!"

"Percy! That's a terrible thing to say!"

"Aw c'mon Annabeth, you were thinking it too."

Annabeth ducked her head, which gave Percy the answer he wanted. "See!"

"Percy, at least pretend to like him for the sake of our project?"

Percy appeared to be deep in though. "I cant promise you that. I do promise though to not stoop to any level lower that what Luke's at."

Annabeth rolled her eyes and smiled, "That's better than nothing. What should our event be for your house?"

"I don't mind. A party? Pool party? Movie night? Pizza night?"

"Yeah they all sound good, the only problem being the no alcohol. All of Luke's idiot mates and air headed bimbos will most likely bring booze."

"Yeah, doesn't mean I have to let them in."

Luke finally remerged into the living room, and looked around at them. "What are you talking about?"

"Our event that we'll host."

"Oh. What are we doing?"

"We haven't actually decided."

"Oh, well it should be in the last week so I can attend."

"Whatever. We were thinking pool party, movie night or pizza night."

"Could we not do all 3?"

"Luke, that's a brilliant idea!" Annabeth exclaimed, going slightly overboard on account of trying to diffuse the tension that Luke brought to the room."We coud totally have like a sleepover, and tell everyone to bring bathers and then we pig out and watch movies and eat pizza!"

"Well, how many people would we have?"

"We could each invite like 3?" Percy said, thinking to the sleeping availabilities in his apartment.

"Whatever, we can decide that at a later date."

They sat in silence, each thinking what the next 3 months would be like, when suddenly Percy grinned.

"How about we, uh, break in this project?"

"How?" Annabeth asked, curiously.

"Lets go for a swim."

Annabeth grinned and nodded, immediately going to the doors leading outside. "Coming boys?"

"Annabeth…arent you going to get changed?"

"Nope. I forgot bathers anyway, but ill get some tomorrow." And with that, much to the boys excitement, she stripped off her clothes leaving her in a blue sports bra and black boy shorts, and she jumped in with a huge splash. Percy looked sideways at Luke, who seemed to be doing the same thing. Slowly they both pulled their teeshirts over their heads and pulled their pants off, leaving them in their boxers, and they both jumped into the pool grinning like idiots.

The 3 of them swam around for around an hour, just laughing and having a good time, the previous tension forgotten with their clothes. When it reached around 11:30 Percy jumped out.

"Im not meant to be in the pool after midnight; well not making lots of noise because apparently it upsets the lower floors,' Percy said with an eye roll as he crossed the deck to the small cupboard there, grabbing out 3 pool towels and chucking them on a deck chair for the other 2. They all got out and dried off, before each disappearing to have a shower in the various bathrooms. Annabeth was the first out, who made a pot of tea and curled around her mug at the kitchen bench. Luke was second out and poured himself a mug, and last came Percy, who had some, but nearly spat it out.

"Not a fan Perce?" Annabeth called mockingly.

"No, it looks and tastes like steaming hot cat piss."

"And you, of course," Luke said,"Know what steaming hot cat piss tastes like?"

Percy deadpanned. "You don't?"

Annabeth could sense the tension coming back, and tried to break it off.

"What are we doing tomorrow?"

"No clue."

"Well, I have to go somewhere in the morning so I wont be around." Luke input.

"Oh yeah Annabeth I go for a run each morning so you may be by herself."

Annabeth thought a moment, "Could I go for a run with you? Ive been meaning to get fit."

"Sure, 7:30 bright and early." Annabeth groaned and placed her finished mug in the sink.

"Id better turn in then. Goodnight boys, sweet dreams." Annabeth disappeared down the hall, leaving the boys standing there. Luke turned and left soon after muttering a small night and closing the door firmly behind him. Percy turned off the lights, ensured the doors were all locked and finally crawled into bed. This was going to be a very long, interesting project was his last thought before he fell asleep.

A/N I suck so much, and I am so sorry. I said 2 weeks, not like a month, ugh that is so bad I feel terrible, so I hope you like this chapter! And I am on holidays now so the updates in theory should be more frequent, but not guarantees. Also I started a new story called 'When the Past Returns' and its Mortal Instruments, so if you like that you should check it out. Yeah so I'm trying to get thats story off the ground so that has definitely contributed to my lack of updates. Also, I've done a new update method with that one which works. If I reach 140 reviews, ill update within 2 days of getting those reviews, otherwise ill just update as I write.
