Chapter 17: A Night to Remember

"Wow, Pyrrha is so cool." Ruby praised the older girl as she fought against Team CRDL.

Team RWBY along with the rest of Team JNPR and Dante were all sitting up in the bleachers of the arena, spectating the match quietly.

"As expected from the reigning Mistral regional champion." Weiss smugly added with a small grin.

"YEAH! Pyrrha break their legs!" Nora shouted with excitement, Ren who was besides her just shook his head at his childhood friends antics.

"I'm surprised Cardin didn't get expelled." Blake stated plainly, not taking her eyes off her book as the outcome of this match was known to all of them before it even started.

"Good point, you know anything about that handsome?" Yang asked, curious about the topic at hand as she looked over to Dante.

Dante was currently lying down on his back with his hands behind his head with one of his legs crossed over the other "Oz is a big fan of second chances." Dante answered casually.

"Besides, after the incident with his family's gang he hasn't stirred up any trouble since." Jaune stated quite happily of not being on the receiving end of those antics anymore.

"I think he's just afraid of you." Dante said jokingly, receiving a few chuckles in return before returning to spectating to the show.

The red haired amazonian from Team JNPR was putting on quite the show for them. Pyrrha was already an exceptional fighter and a prodigal but after meeting Dante she became even better than she was before. Fighting someone of Dante's prowess has made her more experienced in the art of combat than she was before. . . Along with the art of playing dirty she learned from Dante.

"Oooh!" The audience let out in sympathy as Pyrrha had diverted Cardin's strike with his mace into the lower region of his teammate. Cardin's poor teammate, now verified as Dove was sent flying before falling to the ground with a thud, writhing in pain still.

It just proves a point that Pyrrha is now more of a monster when it comes to fighting then she was before. That isn't to say the others haven't learned a thing or two from fighting Dante to improve their own prowess.

Dante always seemed to point out some flaw they had when and during they were sparring with him. Albeit he tells them in the most sarcastic way that makes them want to fix that problem so they can hit him. Which if one of them were to stop and think about it then they would notice that Dante really does his best to help... In his own odd way.

Some were quick learners, figuring out what Dante is trying to explain compared to others and Pyrrha was one of them. Speaking of said person, Dante let out a whistle as the Spartan held Cardin in the air before performing a series of flips while the receiver of the attack let out a scream of terror. The poor boy was slammed into the ground which was followed by an elegant flip kick. Landing gracefully, Pyrrha caught her shield in the process and lowered her stance.

"And, that's the match." Professor Goodwitch announced as Team CRDL was carried off to the infirmary

"Well done, Miss Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament." The Professor complemented before looking directly at her "But I suggest when fighting against male opponents to not take tips from others who have no sense of honor" Glynda said before her eyes moved in the direction of the stands for a split second, right at Dante before returning to Pyrrha.

"Any idea what she's talking about" Dante asked mirthfully to the others, causing a few to chuckle or shake their head at him.

"Of course, Professor." Pyrrha acknowledge blushing lightly from embarrassment, the only reason she did that was to see how effective it was and effective it was. Pyrrha gave her professor a nod before making her way to the locker room.

"Alright, we have time for one more match." Glynda stated as she began to scan the room, before her eyes stayed on the headmaster's apprentice.

"It's nice to finally see you finally join us again, Dante." Glynda sarcastically said before adjusting her glasses "You do you remember your punishment if you play hookie again?" Glynda added with an underline tone of hostility.

"Pretty harsh to ban me from all the pizza and strawberry sundaes within Vale but what can I say, the best way to get to me is through my stomach." Dante admitted with a shrug.

"Then would you like to be our last session of the day?" Glynda asked in a tone that said she won't take no for an answer.

"Eh, I do feel like showing off" Dante smirked, using both his hands to push him to a standing position before jumping down to the arena with a flip and landed with a flourish.

"Hmph, what a show off." Weiss said, crossing her arms at Dante childish behaviors.

"He did say he wanted to show off" Ruby pointed out as if her teammate didn't hear her.

"I know what he said" Weiss said quickly with hmph.

"Ah come on you know you like it when he shows off." Yang teased as the heiress let out another hmph

"Now then, any volunteers." Glynda asked, scanning the room for any raised hands to which she saw none. Mostly for the reason as Dante was currently the top fighter of this group of first years "Come now don't be afrai-"

"I'll do it." A voice called out from the top of the stands.

Everyone turned to see the silver haired student from Haven academy "Mercury, is it? Very well, come on down" Glynda acknowledged as she moved to leave the arena's grounds.

Mercury went down into the lockers and 'got ready' which is more for the rest of his group to come into the locker room.

"Do you believe this Dante will be a threat?" Cinder asked curiously about the white hair student.

"Apparently he is the apprentice of the headmaster, but honestly the guy is an idiot." Emerald answered her mistress.

"Let's not forget that he stole your purse too." Mercury chuckled, moving away when Emerald tried to kick him in response.

Cinder let out a hum in thought as it wasn't everyday for someone to actually pickpocket a skilled pickpocket "Interesting, I believe Roman and the White Fang had a few run in with the boy." Cinder added as she remembered the ramblings the bowler hat idiot had to offer about how he failed his assignment "Add him to the list and I want you two to find out his semblance." Cinder ordered Emerald and Mercury respectively, receiving nods from the two before addressing to the fourth person in the room.

"Neo, I would like you to spy on him. Find out what plans Ozpin has for him." Cinder commanded the smaller woman who gave her a smirk and nod "Now then, I believe we wasted enough time. Head to the arena Mercury" Cinder ordered as the son of the assassin nodded and left the locker room to the arena floor while the girls went back up to the stands in their respective corners.

Mercury struts into the arena, sizing up Dante who was currently yawning as he showed little interest of his opponent. The gesture annoyed Mercury but he didn't let it be visible, recalling Cinder instructions

"So tell me something, what makes you so special that everyone here doesn't want to fight you" Mercury asked, getting into a fighting stance as he prepared to fight against whatever this buffoon had in his sleeves.

"Wouldn't you like to know, how about we place a bet on it?" Dante asked with excitement "If I win, I go on a date with your friend up there." Dante proposed with a smirk.

Mercury let out a laugh "I thought when you win a bet you were supposed to get something good" Mercury joked.

"I WILL WRING YOUR NECK!" Emerald shouted from the stands before shutting up when she noticed Cinder's gaze from the corner of the arena.

"Feisty" Dante commented before visibly flinching when he noticed the looks of irritation from the W and B of RWBY.

"Alright I accept" Mercury said whilst ignoring the female thief "But if I win, then I want you to answer my questions" Mercury stated his demands.

"Is this necessary?" Glynda questioned from the lowest stands, sending a glare towards Dante who shrugged.

"Just trying to make the fight more interesting Ma'am." Dante answered, performing a few stretches "Besides, fights are more fun when they're stakes involved, so much in fact I won't use my sword" Dante said with a smirk as he gestured to Rebellion on his back while Mercury just frowned

"You are going to regret your decisions" Mercury said while sending a subtle nod towards Emerald.

The recipient nodded back, understanding the message and began activating her semblance as Mercury charged at the apprentice. Jumping into air with a spinning heel kick towards Dante who ducked under it. Dante noticed a small smirk on Mercury, before feeling the impact of a heel came crashing onto his cheek. Gasp filled the room as the untouchable Dante skidded a few feet away from his attacker.

"Did I see that right…" Yang asked the group receiving confirming nods from everyone.

"Someone actually got a clean hit on Dante in a one on one." Blake in utter shock, putting her book away as the group now watched the battle with intense focus.

"You should start taking this fight seriously, I wouldn't want to ruin your reputation." Mercury taunted while Dante rubbed his cheek.

Dante smirked at the small jab "That'll only happen if I find it necessary, so how about you actually do something to warrant it" Dante taunted back.

Seeing his taunt fail, Mercury rushed Dante again as he went for another spinning heel kick. Dante focused his eyes on the attacking leg and leaned back to dodge it only to be hit again like last time. Flying across the arena, Dante used his right hand to drag across the ground to halt his movements before rolling to the side away from the dive kick launched at him. He wasn't spared any breathing room as Mercury continued his assault of various kicks that somehow a few got through Dante's defenses.

"What's wrong? I thought you were a great fighter." Mercury provoked, throwing a roundhouse kick towards Dante.

Dante blocked the kick but immediately felt his opponent's presence behind him. Turning around Dante let out a grunt as he knocked down to the floor. The entire room erupted with gasps as Dante's aura bar now went into the yellow.

"Still not gonna take me serious?" Mercury questioned, standing triumphantly over Dante.

The son of Sparda looked up at opponent and smirked again as he picked himself up.

"Neat trick, if I had figure it out sooner than my coat wouldn't have gotten all dirty." Dante stated, dusting himself off "Your semblance is hallucination." Dante stated as Mercury smirked in response.

"Impressive, you've figured me out." Mercury complemented as he lied very convincingly.

"Don't take this personally happy feet, but now that I know your trick it won't work on me again." Dante proclaimed, lowering his alignment, along with his left leg with both arms pointing backwards "Royal guard." Dante mumbled as a electrical white aura engulfed his body for brief moment before disappearing.

Everyone stared intently at Dante as they never seen him do this before. They continued to watch as Dante simply walked towards Mercury.

Keeping his momentum going, Mercury rushed Dante with a flurry of kicks as Dante adopted a block stance. Every attack Mercury seemed to get through had been blocked before it even touched Dante as a soft red glow emanated off his body each time.

"Tch." Mercury let out from annoyance that his attacks aren't even working anymore.

Running towards Dante, Mercury executed a flying kick towards Dante. Right as the kick was about make impact with Dante. Mercury disappeared from Dante's field of view and had appeared behind him. To Mercury's shock Dante had immediately spun around and narrowly dodged his flying kick.

Dante didn't waste his time as he grabbed the hold of Mercury midair from behind and preformed a suplex into the ground. A grunt of pain escaped Mercury's lips as he immediately pulled himself away from Dante and got up.

To Mercury's surprise Dante was already in front of him, pointing his index and middle finger about an inch away from Mercury's chest. In a split-second Dante closed the distance with his pointing hand as he punch Mercury who felt a tremendous force behind it as he felt all the air in his lungs were forced out. Mercury was sent flying into a nearby wall with a thundering crash as his aura plummeted downward into red from that single attack.

Struggling to pick himself, Mercury sent a glare that indicated death towards Dante. Unfazed by the glare, Dante taunted him by beckoned his opponent to come at him. The assassin was about the make his move until Professor Goodwitch stood between the two.

"Dante is the winner of the match." Glynda announced as the two boys dropped their stance. "Although I wish that you'd work on your overconfident attitude."

"I'd feel naked without it and not in the good way." Dante answered, walking over towards Mercury offering a hand

"You've got some good moves, you'll do well in the tournament."

Mercury glanced between Dante's hand and face, his glare never leaving him. Before, dropping it taking Dante's hand as he pulled him off the ground.

"Right back at you." Mercury said as he dusted himself off "Still want that date with my friend? She's a real handful if you know what I mean."

"I wasn't serious about the bet, well if I want to keep my family jewels that is." Dante shuddered as the alarms went off signaling the end of the class

"That is all for today. And remember, the dance is this weekend. But you all have your first mission on Monday. I will not accept any excuses." Glynda notified as she dismissed the class

Dante bid farewell to Mercury as he regrouped with his friends as a red blur stopped in front him with excitement in her eyes as she began talking really fast.

"Ohmygodthatwassocool, howdidyoudothat?Isthatyoursemblance?" Ruby asked as Yang pulled her younger sister away from Dante

"Calm down there little sis." Yang told her as Ruby compiled

"Was that your semblance though?" Weiss asked curious

"You could say it is. I call it Royal guard, basically it emphasizes on defense and counters." Dante explained only to be met with confused looks

"So in your fight against Mercury you used his own energy against him" Weiss clarified

"Jeez cowboy, that makes you sound unbeatable." Yang said as the others nodded

"It sounds that way but it takes a while to charge and I only got one chance to make it count." Dante added

"It's like Adam's semblance…" Blake mumbled, trembling slightly at the thought of her former comrade

"You say something Blake?" Ruby inquired

"It's nothing." Blake answered as she returned to her book

"By the way, I've been meaning to ask." Yang began, wrapping an arm around Blake as the two fell behind the others

"You and Dante seem closer after last night. And, I know you two are childhood friends and all but it's different. Did something happen last night?" Yang questioned with a mischievous glint in her eyes

"Nothing happened!" Blake exclaimed with a visible blush

"Uh huh." Yang smirked

"I have too much going on right now to be in a relationship. Dante's a good friend, reliable, charming, and…" Blake stopped, realizing she dug herself into a hole "I'm not helping myself am I."

"Nope" Yang said as the pair watched Sun join their group of friends "Sun's nice, he has everything you listed about Dante. You should totally ask him out"

"He is but I just see him as a friend" Blake assured

"Ouch, friendzoned." Yang winced jokingly "So does that mean you're gonna ask handsome over there to the dance?" Yang questioned

"Dancing isn't my cup of tea and I'm positive Dante isn't going." Blake answered rather bluntly.

"Ohoho are you gonna ask him for some private lessons then?" Yang said suggestively with a wiggle of her brows.

"Is that all you think a boy and girl can do alone?" Blake questioned with her cheeks turning bright red. "Besides, why are you trying to help me. I thought you liked Dante." Blake pointed out.

"I do. But, you're my friend and I know being with Dante makes you happy." Yang explained "But if you take to long, don't blame me if I take him away." Yang said in a sing-song tone.

The two friends shared a laugh as they watched Ruby attempt to convince Dante to let her ride on his shoulders to feel taller. While Weiss was trying to persuade Dante into helping them prepare the dance, with the reward that she'll clean him up for the dance along with some pizza.

"Should we be worried about them?" Blake inquired while gesturing to the two other girls.

"Ruby's too young to understand her feelings and I'm positive Ice Queen is in denial. This dance will probably be your best chance or mine if you don't say anything." Yang elucidate the situation with a shrug.

"That's if I get another chance." Blake said with a groan.

"Wait what do you mean 'another'?" Yang asked confused.

"Well this morning Dante and I got really close and I was gonna kiss him but."

"But…?"

A comfortable silence was shared between the two as they stared at one another. Feeling regret, Blake placed one of her hands on the cheek she slapped. Gently she started caress it with her thumb to help numb the pain. Dante placed his hand atop of hers as they continued to gazed at one another.

Slowly the two began to close the gap between their faces, and as their lips were about to make contact.

"Dante! Where the hell are you, I still nee-" Tukson abruptly called out as he came up to the attic but stopped himself when he saw that two teenagers were about to make out in his attic.

No one said a word as the two teens just stared at Tukson who stared back stoically.

"... So I should I just leave or?" Tukson inquired as he took a step back

"No, I was just about to leave" Blake answered quickly as she got up.

"Whoa, hold on a minute we're not done here" Dante said as he got up as well.

"Yes we are done" Blake said as she began walking past Tukson.

Dante followed right behind with a grin "Hey, now from what I can tell we are far from done, especially in regards of swapping saliva" Dante pointed out playfully with the sound of Tukson gagging the background.

"Ugh, kids these days with no sense of decency, especially in another person's livelihood" Tukson said looking up dramatically before following them back down.

"Nothing happened!" Blake shouted back.

Tukson just laughed "If it wasn't for the fact I was leaving I would've burn the shop down to just clean whatever filth you two would've made" Tukson said while Dante let out a loud laugh in response.

"I hate you both" Blake grumbled with her face turning red.

"And, after that things have been really awkward between us. I don't think I can be in a room with him alone, let alone ask him to some stupid dance with the memory resurfacing." Blake finished before noticing her partner was struggle to keep her laughter in "Well thank you for being a thoughtful and kind friend" Blake said whilst glaring at the blonde.

Yang held up a hand for her to wait "Well you have until the weekend to figure it out." Yang advised, calming down from her laughing fit

"Easy for you to say." Blake sighed with a tired expression on her face.

Beacon's Ballroom

Dante was many things, both good and bad. An upcoming huntsman in training, apprentice of a headmaster, defender of the good stuff with an unhealthy dose of kicking ass. Considering all this you would think he would be off on some mission causing mayhem, oh, how wrong he was.

Now, if you were to tell him a half a year ago that he'd be helping four attractive adolescent girls help set up for a school dance. Well after he finished laughing himself silly he'll tell you you're crazy, him of all people setting up a stupid dance? That's ridiculous, however that is the funny thing about life. Not, everything goes as expected.

Dropping the last speaker at its designated spot, Dante let out a sigh as he stretched his back. Pleased to hear a few pops, physical labor was always a drag to do. Sure he has limitlessness amount of stamina but that doesn't mean he wouldn't tire of doing something tedious like this. It didn't help that the two individuals in charge of planning the whole event who were Weiss and Yang constantly butted heads. Everything was fine in the beginning but ironically like fire and ice the two started to not see eye to eye about various things. Meaning he was stuck in the middle between the two as a poor servant boy, as Yang dubbed him, to meet in the middle of this ridiculous situation. He knew this dance was a big deal for the them, so he did his best to not get on the their bad side.

Dante thankfully had moments of respite from the two by Blake whenever the argument got heated. She would make some comment that led to agreeing to some middle ground with some of their suggestions. Honestly, if Blake wasn't here Dante would've suffered much more than he was. Maybe he'll treat her to some sushi sometime, if she wasn't avoiding him for some reason to other than help him.

Ruby was there as well, but the heiress called her assistance a waste of time after failing to notice the difference between two tablecloths that were presented in front of her. So because of that she just sat there calmly enjoying some milk and cookies while everyone else was working. Lucky girl

All together it took about two hours for Dante to set everything up. Not, exactly the ideal way he wanted to spend his evening but at least his reward for the hard work was pizza they had promised him earlier.

The last thing Dante needed to check was the music station, he was positive everything was set up correctly. It was just a matter of seeing if it worked, powering on the speakers the young man skimmed through the sections of songs listed, a lot of it was club, and waltz music.

He himself was more into hard rock, metal, or even some jazz but he did appreciate other genres if it catches his interest. When stumbling across a classic he stared for a moment before he told himself "Fuck it." and started playing it.

A smooth beat began to play, catching the attention of the girls as they watched Dante nod his head in rhythm of the beat. In unison with the lyrics, Dante began to lip sync to the song and danced his way towards table that held all his friends. Ignoring, the look of surprise, he danced in circles around each girl posing in an over dramatic fashion for each of them.

The leader of Team RWBY began giggling at Dante's goofy nature, while her partner was tried her hardest to keep a straight face. The brawler of the group began cheering him on with Blake smiling at the whole show.

The show was short lived as the song came to end with Dante finishing the show with a mock bow.

Receiving claps from his audience and one from behind. The apprentice of Ozpin turned around to see Pyrrha Nikos alone, clapping with a smile.

"I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Pyrrha politely asked

"Not at all Pyrrha, do you need something?" Weiss respond first

"I was actually hoping to borrow Dante for a moment, if that's okay." Pyrrha requested, getting confused looks from Team RWBY meanwhile Dante just shrugged and followed the girl.

It seemed like they're were eyes on them everywhere as they walked through main campus. It's hard not to notice the appearance of Ozpin and the Invincible girl together, titles like those made you stand out. Murmurs were heard as they kept walking towards a private area within the school grounds. Most of it were about the two possibly dating, which was ignored.

"So.." Pyrrha began once they reached their destination

"So." Dante repeated, scanning the area for any eavesdroppers

"I need your help… in asking Jaune to the dance." Pyrrha confessed

"I'm guessing plan F was not successful?" Dante sighed, putting a hand on his hip

The lovestruck warrior nodded her head, resulting in Dante to facepalm at another failure and at how dense Jaune was. You see Pyrrha has requested Dante assistance in confessing her feeling for her leader since winter break.

Of course, he was hesitant to help her out at first but reluctantly accepted when he had witness the poor girl's attempts to get Jaune's attention. He couldn't help but cringe quite visibly at how that interaction turned out with Jaune walking off none the wiser of the situation and Pyrrha looking dejectedly off the side.

Since then they've been trying everything, from cliche stuff like letters to more physical approach like hugging. All of which failed which brought Dante back to his first suggestion which was for her to just be honest about her feeling or to just kiss him now that would get the point across, but Pyrrha couldn't muscle the courage to do such a thing.

Eventually, Nora and Ren were brought on board to help pair as Nora called it her OTP. The hammer wielder's suggestions were definitely out of there ranging from bizarre to… yeah let's not talk about that, but in the end both her and Ren agreed with Dante's first suggestion.

"I don't want to be rude but I swear he must've been dropped on his head a lot when he was a kid" Dante said with frustration.

Pyrrha took a deep breath and let out a tired sigh "Maybe we should stop" Pyrrha lamented to herself.

"Or we can still think of being honest as the best approach here." Dante suggested as Pyrrha looked at the ground in shame

"I know… but I just can't." Pyrrha said, still looking down and not noticing Dante had sent a quick text via his Scroll.

"Then, how about we practice?" Dante advised as the Invincible girl looked up at him in surprise.

"You can only beat around the bush so much, I think it's time you grow a pair." Dante stated quite crudely.

"You're right… Okay, I'll do it." Pyrrha said with a newfound confidence

"Alright now just close your eyes and pretend that I'm Jaune. No bullshit just be honest with your feelings." Dante told her, Pyrrha listened to his advice as she closed her eyes and attempted to figure out what to say within her thought before confessing.

Unknown to the former mascot for Pumpkin Pete's, the rest of her team had came up behind her. Nora and Ren were dragging their leader with their hands over Jaune's mouth to stop him from making a sound.

The text Dante had sent earlier was to the two childhood friends of Team JNPR to initiate Operation: Arkos. Which is basically the last resort the three of them came up behind Pyrrha's back to just drag Jaune here when Pyrrha was going to practice her confession.

Dante gave them a nod as Nora shoved Jaune towards Dante. The receiver of the shove was about make a remark but Dante stopped him as he wrapped his arm around Jaune's shoulder and covered his mouth his hand.

"Just shut up and listen." Dante whispered with tone that told Jaune this order was absolute.

The leader of JNPR nodded at Dante who smiled and guided him in front of Pyrrha who finally came out of her deep thoughts and found the right words to say. Dante, Ren ,and Nora stood on the side, anxiously waiting to see the outcome of their current plan.

"Jaune… You were the first person to see me just for who I am, and I was happy. It felt nice to just be normal around you and because of that I was able to make lasting friendships for the rest of my life." Pyrrha began, unaware presence of her leader in front of her, staring at her in shock.

"You're very kind, reliable, and… handsome. I'm proud to be your teammate and best friend.. However… I-I want to be more than friends. So… will you please go out with me!" Pyrrha shouted with a blush before several deep breaths to calm herself down. Once she calmed down she opened her eyes, expecting to see Dante but instead saw her crush looking at her completely flabbergasted with a faint blush on his cheeks.

Both stood there in shock as each words stuttered out of Pyrrha's mouth while Jaune stood there in silent. Embarrassed by the situation she found herself in Pyrrha turned away from her partner, placing both of her hands on her extremely flustered cheeks.

Surprised and shock were the feelings that coursed through Jaune, Pyrrha Nikos just confessed to him. The same Pyrrha Nikos who was a reigning Mistral regional champion, mascot of Pumpkin Pete's and titled Invincible girl. His sisters would freak out if they found about this, heck he's freaking out right now.

When it came to his own feelings, Jaune immediately thought of Weiss but it felt like his heart was telling him that Weiss wasn't meant for him and the reason was so obvious. The one meant for him was the person standing in front of him, maybe these feeling for his best friend were surpassed for an unknown reason but that doesn't matter because his feeling became clear today. Jaune Arc was in love with Pyrrha Nikos…

"Yes. I would love to go out with you." Jaune answered as the girl in front of him turned around and cover her mouth with both her hands

"...Jaune…" Pyrrha called as tears threatened to fall and in an instant she hugged her now boyfriend "I'm so happy!" Pyrrha exclaimed happily.

Startled by physical contact, Jaune soon returned the hug. From this day onwards, Jaune Arc and Pyrrha Nikos were now a couple. Said couple broke away from their embrace and stared at one another for a moment before enticing themselves to a kiss.

"AH! It finally happened!" Nora cheered very loudly while Ren nodded in head in agreement as Dante extended his fists towards his fellow operatives who fist bumped him at their accomplishment.

The newly formed couple of Team JNPR broke away from their kiss and gazed at one another.

"This should've happened a long time ago." Jaune said

"Definitely." Pyrrha giggled

Operation: Arkos was a success, satisfied nods and smiles were sent at the lovers. Feeling enough love in the air the group disbanded to leave the newly couple alone.

(Days Later)

Blake straighten her dress in front of Dante's dorm room door. She was wearing a short, purple, asymmetrical, halter neck dress that is split up the right side with a black collar. Her shoulders were covered by a translucent black mesh covers, decolletage and back, and finally a decorative black swirls covering the left side of the her dress with a teal bow replacing her regular black one.

Weiss and Yang were kind enough to do her makeup, unfortunately for her she had to suffer constant teasing from her partner during the whole process. Hopefully her patience would be rewarded tonight, Dante noticing her makeup would be a start.

She had finally decided to listen to Yang and asked Dante to the dance. Which Dante had nonchalantly accepted before cursing under his breath, to which she heard, that he didn't have anything to wear. That calmed her down to know he was at least taking this seriously a bit to be concerned about not having something to wear.

Blake soon arrived at Dante's room, normally this situation would be the other way around but with Dante it's never simple. After taking a deep breath and clenching her fist, she knocked on the door a few times. A gasp escaped her lips, Blake felt her cheeks heating up once the door opened. No amount of preparation could prepare her for what stood in front of her.

Dante's appearance was drastically altered, his mop of messy white hair was gone and was now slicked back. He had a red formal vest, a black long sleeve button-up shirt with the sleeves folded into cuffs, along with a black formal pants with a gray belt around his waist. Finishing it off with a watch wrapped on his left wrist and a untied tie hanging around his neck.

Unable to help herself Blake began to check Dante out which did not go unnoticed.

"Heh, like what you see?" Dante smugly asked putting his index finger and thumb on his chin

Choosing not to respond, and let herself in to which earned a "Hey!." from the well groomed man as she sat down on his bed.

Dante shook his head as he no idea what goes on through most of the girl's heads and figured he won't ever. He decided to finish tying his noose, eh, his tie that was hanging around his neck. He went over to his mirror and began attempting to do an oriental knot.

Keyword be attempt.

It was quite amusing to see someone who was almost good at everything struggle at something simple.

After being amused at Dante's frustration Blake decided he was tormented enough "Would you like some help?" Blake asked with a teasing smile.

"Me need help? Please I know what I'm doing." Dante assured her as his tie fell apart again which elicited an irritated groan from him.

"Right." Blake drawled out in a doubtful tone, rolling her eyes playfully and got up from the bed.

The Son of Sparda was about to retort but stopped himself, the girl next to him has been around him enough to see through his bullshit. So all he could do is let out a tired sigh and conceded resulting in a triumph smile from his childhood friend.

Standing in front of Dante, Blake grabbed the tie around his neck and began tying it. Humming to herself during the process as Dante tried his best to stand still. However he couldn't help himself but admire the extra work Blake did on herself for just one lousy dance. Now, he wasn't talking about the dress that was a given. It was the makeup that caught his eyes, Blake was already enticing in her own regards, but at this moment she looked captivating.

To be honest and as much as he hated to admit it, but he couldn't help but be entranced by her for the first time today. Unfortunately Blake caught onto him and sent an anxious look, waiting for him to make a comment about her appearance. When it came to complimenting Blake, Dante had to choose his words wisely.

Blake was different from other girl, his usual method of just casually flirting didn't have same effect as it does on people like Yang. Dante knew she preferred them to be short and simple with no sexual undertones which is funny considering her favorite novel series was nothing but smut. Not that he'll ever say that to her face, he rather not be on her bad side.

Scratching his cheek, Dante looked off to the side in slight embarrassment "You look really nice." Dante said as it was the most he could really think of saying.

There was no verbal response but rather a bright smile. This particular smile felt different than ones she'd usually put out, It felt genuine. Feeling his own cheek beginning to heat up, Dante quickly made a effort to change the topic.

"So um... Why did you ask me to the dance?" Dante inquired, rubbing the back of his neck as Blake finished tying the knot.

"Well, someone did tell me to loosen up a bit. Seems only fair that he takes responsibility for it." Blake answered softly.

"Ah…" Dante let out "And the reason you've been avoiding me?" Dante asked after a moment.

"I've been busy." Blake replied hastily which Dante didn't buy but choose not to press on.

"My turn to ask you a question, why'd you agreed to go to the dance with me?" Blake asked shyly, playing with the hem of her dress.

"This formal stuff isn't really my thing, but it's not normal for you to invite to me to things like this. So I told myself 'aw what the hell, how bad could this be'?" Dante replied with a shrug as Blake couldn't help but shake her head.

That was what she expected Dante to do. Blake gave him a small smile as the two began to make their way to the ballroom.

"What about you?" Dante followed up

"Let's just say I'm expanding my horizon." Blake said, wrapping her arm around Dante's.

"Alright, but what about Sun? He was pretty convinced that you'd go with him." Dante asked, recalling Sun bragging to him about taking Blake to the dance.

"If it had been anyone else I wouldn't, but you on the other hand I wouldn't mind going with" Blake confessed as Dante began to look around the area before pointing at himself with a smile. Blake rolled her eyes as she tried to keep her emotions in check and failed as her cheeks turned a bit red "Yes, you now stop acting smug we're almost there" Blake said ended the conversation.

Dante just smirked as they entered the ballroom with Yang standing in front of a podium wearing a short, white, halter neck dress with a pale gray hem and white pumps. It was rather basic but she looked good in it.

"Well it's about time you two arrived, and I must say you cleaned up nicely handsome" Yang complimented as Dante gave her a grin.

"Don't you know it" Dante said striking a small flamboyant pose while Blake just sighed and face-palmed from second hand embarrassment.

Yang just laughed at the interaction in front of her "Well, you better save me a private dance later big boy" Yang said giving Dante a flirty smile.

Dante was about to respond but noticed Blake tightened her hold on his arm ever so slightly. He then noticed the anxious look on her face and looked back at Yang "Well, we'll have to see how the night plays out" Dante said giving Blake a small smile as he could tell she relaxed a bit from that.

Bidding farewell to Yang, and guiding his date towards the dance floor. It seemed as though the entire hall fell silent, flickers of nervousness fluttered around Blake's stomach as one by one students would gaze at them, sharing hushed whispers of disbelief, she picked up because of her sensitive ears. Feeling like a deer in headlight, she would've frozen on the spot had it not been for Dante who saw her discomfort and took her hand giving it a comforting squeeze.

The whispers began to fade as her focused returned to Dante who gave her a smile. The feeling of nervousness disappeared as Dante moved one of her hands onto his shoulder. The fanunus felt a her face burn as he moved one of her hands onto his took his spare hand and placed it on Blake's hip. Soon, the pair moved in a slow circle. Blake kept glancing at her feet, making sure she didn't accidentally step on his toes. She wasn't much of a dancer, but it helped that Dante kept guiding and encouraging her during the dance. When the first chorus came to an end, Blake was now able to keep eyes forward and shyly gazed at Dante who beamed at her.

Spotting her friends, Blake saw her teammate smiling at her. Dante noticed them too l and they all looked stunning. Ruby was wearing a short, red, sleeveless dress with a thick black sash around the waist and black trim along the bottom. While Weiss wore a short, white, sleeveless dress with cutouts on both sides of her waist.

A curious expression fell upon Blake when she spotted Pyrrha and Jaune together acting very lovey dovey at a nearby table.

"Since when did those two get together?" Blake asked mostly to herself.

"A couple of days ago actually, and before you ask it's because I'm that good of a wing-man." Dante answered, before spinning himself away in an elegant fashion with his hand extended.

Surprised by the action, Blake smiled took his hand as Dante immediately pulled her back into dance

"I never expected you to be a dancer." Blake giggled as she was actually having fun, moving around with Dante.

"Would you believe me if I said this is my first time?" Dante smirked, twirling her around and performed a dip in sync to the ending of the song.

Blake just smiled in response as Dante pulled her back up as an upbeat melody began to play. Dante gave Blake a look and both nodded before signaling their other friends to join them.

Team JNPR immediately joined them with Yang right behind them. The R and W in team RWBY stayed behind, shaking their heads.

"Sorry but a Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee are needed on the dance floor!" Dante shouted, causing several other dancers to look in their direction, as he beckoned them to come join the fun.

"Don't shout you dolt!" Weiss shouted back as she didn't move an inch.

"Nuh-uh, I'm not doing it in these clown shoes." Ruby argued as she stumbled a bit when trying to take a step.

They were making quite the commotion when Nora and Yang ran over and dragged the two towards the dance floor. The commotion ranged from "Let go of me!" to "No these stupid things will kill me!."

Once the two joined them, they sent the group matching glares of hatred, but eventually caved into the environment. Weiss joined in on the dancing but Ruby seemed lost. Yang grabbed her arm and attempted to guide her but that resulted in awkward movements probably because of her inexperience in both dancing and wearing heels.

Ultimately, Dante came over and helped the poor girl out. She could now stay in rhythm with the beat, however the wobbling couldn't be helped. To compensate for this, Ruby kept her armed locked around Dante to keep herself from falling. The young girl blushed at the interaction since this was the first time she's done something like this with someone of the opposite gender.

The group formed a circle and everyone took a turn dancing in the middle. Yang was stealing the spotlight, having a dance style that mixed house and hip-hop together. Sending a challenging smirk daring anyone of her friends to step up and try to take her spotlight, not one to back down from a challenge Dante walked forward with a shrug.

A battle of back and forth commenced between the two. Slowly, Dante and Yang began working off one another and in a matter of moments performed a sequence of moves together that made everyone believe this whole moment was scripted.

Cheers and whistling filled the circle, and the look that the brawler sent towards the man in front of her. It was one of the most seductive looks he's ever seen and things were about get heated when Yang strutted closer to Dante but stopped when said person raised his hands in the air and conceded before anything inappropriate happened.

The way that everyone looked at Dante was one filled with surprise. Even Yang was speechless, that he backed down when things were about get interesting.

Dante's reason was a simple one, he didn't want to piss off his date. Now if he'd had come to the dance with Yang, that'd be a different story. So, he walked back over to Blake seeing the look of relieve within her and flashed a grin. Flustered by his action, the reserved girl looked away from him but carried a grateful smile.

Overall, the night was fun. Dante shared a dance with all his friends, even Weiss danced with him. But, most of his attention belonged to Blake as he kept close to her throughout most of the night and she'd looked like she was having a fun time.

The group of friends spend the rest of the night situated on a table and chatted among themselves. Sun and Neptune showed up, the latter took a seat next to the heiress while the former asked Blake for a dance. The bow wearing girl complied when Dante pointed out "You at least owe the guy a dance.".

Yang suggested that they end the night at the photo booth area, once Blake and Sun returned. The background for the photo booth was a simple red curtain with a bright light over it.

The photographer was startled when a large group of kids stood in front of booth barely fitting into the frame. Meanwhile, the group were decided what pose they should do for the photo.

"Ooh act stuck up." Yang suggested

"So just act like ice queen?" Dante quipped

"Hey!" Weiss retorted

A few laughs were let out as everyone pictured their own version of stuck up and posed for the camera right as the flash went off.

This went on for a while, someone always had a idea for a photo. Some of the suggestions were martial arts, superhero, and even prima donna. That one got the whole group laughing because Dante had a perfect pose for it.

"What are you guys doing for the last one?" The photographer asked as the group thought about it.

"Just be yourself." Dante proposed, grinning.

Nodding at the suggestion, the crowd of friends posed as themselves. Unknown to Dante, all his friends shared a mischievous look as they moved towards him. Before Dante even realized they began to get on top of him. It looked like one giant dog pile on top of Dante as he quite literally was carrying a few of his friends on his back while the rest were pressed up against his side.

"We'll laugh about this someday." Dante said ever sarcastically at being dog-piled but was smiling nonetheless.

Dante's Dorm Room

Night time

Dante was drying his hair with a towel from all sweat he's gathered from the dance. Walking out of his bathroom, feeling a bit tired. Dante made way towards his bed and was mildly surprised when he saw Blake lying there in her yukata-style sleepwear, reading a book.

Astonishment was the look Blake had right now, as Dante stood in front of her with nothing on expect a pair of sweatpants. A deep blush covered her cheeks, that was covered by her book

"Can't get enough of me can you?" Dante teased with a cheeky grin.

"The dance made me miss out on some reading" Blake muttered as Dante nodded at the answer

Believe it or not but Blake been using his room as a place to read or think. It began when she couldn't read inside her team's room, due to the constant mayhem that happened with the rest of her team. It became difficult for the book reader to read in peace, there was the library but Dante's room felt cozy to her.

The owner of the room didn't really care about it and gave her the code to his room. Dante respected her privacy when it came to reading, so he kept his witty comments to a minimum. Except when it came to her romance novels, i.e her smut collection, that he would tease the heck out of her before she would kick him from her reading spot.

Surprisingly Dante would sometimes join her whenever she would read. It was mainly to help him fall asleep, but she didn't mind.

"I made some tea while you were in the shower." Blake said while gesturing to his table off to the side.

"Aw, I was hoping for a strawberry sundae." Dante moaned, flinching slightly when he felt an intense glare from his childhood friend "But tea is good too." Dante quickly added as he move to get his cup of tea.

Dante picked up the tea and sipped the bitter liquid silently while he looked over to Blake. She was reading her book silently, ever so focused on the words on the page than everything around her.

"So uh… what your book about?" Dante inquired, decided to make some small talk than just sitting in his room in silence.

"It's about a Yakuza who spent 10 years in jail taking the fall for his best friend who killed the head of his family he leaves on parole he finds out that the third chairman of their clan is murdered along with their fortune of 90 million lien stolen. Finding a little girl who seems to the key in the lost money and vows to protect her." Blake summarized the story's plot to her friend.

Interested by the plot of the book, Dante walked over to her to get a closer look at the title. Ignoring the ever growing redness on Blake's face when he leaned over her shoulder and moved the cover of the book to read the title.

"Path of the Dragon?" Dante recited aloud, plucking the book from Blake's hands.

Taking a few breathers, Blake was able to calmed herself down after Dante moved backed a few steps while examining the book

"It's a pleasant read. The storytelling and character development about the criminal underground is interesting." Blake let out, surprised at Dante's interest in the title.

"Tukson told me about this one, he wouldn't shut up about it for a whole week." Dante commented while flipping through several pages of the book, knowing full well Blake was surprised at his interest of the book "I think they also made a movie about this too, and I know you're more of a bookworm, but how about a movie night?" Dante asked casually before he glanced towards the door to his room for a moment and then back to the book.

Blake thought about the suggestion, on one hand she did want to finish her book, but on the other hand this was her chance to get closer to Dante.

Narrowing her eyes, Blake held up one finger "On one condition, get me some tuna" Blake consented to the situation at hand.

Unable to help himself, the owner of the room laughed at the request "I'm beginning to think you have an unhealthy obsession with Tuna." Dante said between laughs.

"The same could be said with you and Pizza." Blake retorted with a laugh herself.

"How about we meet in the middle?" Dante suggested as he handed the book back to her.

"Tuna Pizza? Where are you even gonna find a place that delivers at this hour? Not to mention I'm pretty sure tuna isn't a normal topping for pizza?" Blake noted lightly while Dante shrugged.

"Oh don't worry about that, I know a place." Dante answered, pulling out his Scroll to order the pizza "So what do you say?" Dante asked with a smile.

Blake stared at him for a moment before letting out a soft laugh "Only if you add extra tuna." Blake answered with a smile as well.

"We can arrange that but we should ask the others what they want too." Dante announced as he walked over to his door and opened it.

Doing so let the remaining members of Blake's team fall face first into the room. After scrambling to get up they noticed the look on Blake's face.

"Uh oh…" The leader let out in mild horror.

"I thought I heard whispering, I can't believe you guys would spy on us." Blake glared at her teammate

"We were just making sure nothing indecent occurred." Weiss reasoned very unrealistically.

"Unless you two were waiting for an audience." Yang added suggestively with a wiggle of her brows.

"Grow up! I'm not that type of girl Yang!" Blake exclaimed with a faint blush

"Really? Cause, I know a certain someone who's reading history says otherwise." Yang teased as Blake chose not to respond while her blush deepened

"Although I gotta admit handsome, I like what I see." Yang complimented as the others noticed Dante's choice of, or lack of, clothing.

"Put a shirt on you oaf!" Weiss ordered with a flush as she turned around to stare.

"This is my room you know." Dante countered with snort before complying as he went over to his dresser to get a shirt.

Being a rather observant person, Dante was aware of the eyes scanning over him. The leader and Princess attempted to be subtle with their stares, meanwhile Blake kept sneaking quick glances while Yang olged at the sight.

"So you girls joining us for movie night?" Dante asked, slipping on a t-shirt

"Please as if-" Weiss didn't get to finish her thought as Ruby immediately rushed out of the room and came back with an assortment of snacks, blankets, and pillows.

"Movie Night!" Ruby screamed with excitement

"I call the bed." Yang said, taking a seat next to her partner

"Ooh me too!" Ruby added, joining her sister "Come on Weiss."

Weiss wanted to disregard the notion of watching movies, but the pleading looks from her leader and friends were hard to ignore. Slowly, her eyes soften, before seating herself on the bed with her friends. The group smiled at the notion, well except one person.

"Hey, where the hell am I suppose sit?" Dante pointed out

"Well handsome if you get me a meat lovers, then this lap is yours." Yang offered while patting her lap.

"Make that two and can you get an order of chocolate chip cookies with that please." Ruby requested excitedly.

"I would like a veggie pizza." Weiss added politely.

"Ew, who gets just vegetables." Ruby gagged at her teammate's choice of pizza.

"I do! It's a much healthier choice, you carnivores!" Weiss rebutted angrily.

"Yeah, but your pizza contains zero protein!" Yang argued as the two girls began arguing about pizza while Blake just stared at Dante with an unsure look while Ruby began looking up the movie to link up to Dante's T.V.

Dante on the other hand was enjoying the situation before him and just shrugged when he noticed Blake's stare before calling whatever pizzeria was open at this hour.

Blake sighed as she decided to settle into this little movie night they decided to share. While she may enjoy spending time with her team like this, a part of her wished they stayed away so she could have Dante all to herself.

That was before noticing the happy looks everyone had, even if two of them were still arguing 'Maybe next time' Blake mused to herself as she decided to just enjoy the moment.

Note: I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, and I will be going back and editing old chapters. So look forward that, as for story wise, the next arc will be the Mountain Glenn. After that will be the Order of the Sword.
