A/N So it's been almost two years since I last updated this story, and I felt bad that I haven't updated anything on here in so long. I do apologize. When I said it would be on hiatus, I did not intend it to be so long a hiatus. This was always going to be the last chapter of the story anyway, and I don't really know why I didn't update a long time ago. So, as an early Christmas gift, I suppose, here's the epilogue of Demigod Weapon Meister Academy.
Epilogue
Months after Hermes, messenger of the gods, appeared in front of Percy, Annabeth, and their friends and took the Heroes of Olympus away to deal with a "situation" back home, Maka was furiously training her grigori soul and phasmic abilities, still trying to raise Soul to the level of Death Scythe.
Soul transformed back into his human form after Maka set him down, breathing heavily. He grinned at her and she smiled back, leaning on him as they went home. They sat down and tucked into the pizza that was waiting for them in their kitchen.
Maka had heard from Annabeth once, saying they were safe but undercover on a mission for the gods at a boarding school in Manhattan and wouldn't be attending the DWMA until the situation was resolved, and that she would get in touch eventually to confirm they were okay. Kid, Liz, Patti, Tsubaki, and Black*Star all had forgotten the demigods soon after they left. Maka was certain there was some divine intervention in their convenient selective amnesia. She and Soul, however, had not forgotten, and were now being called by Shinigami-sama on very secretive and important missions that involved interactions between the DWMA and the Olympian pantheon.
Lord Death had told the partners that there had been a war not long before Annabeth and Percy first arrived in Death City, and many of our missions were helping with protecting the reconstruction efforts, especially in Greece, where a powerful enemy had apparently awoken.
David-senpai had gone back to New York only two months after Percy and Annabeth had left. He claimed he had taught his students everything they needed to know, and anyone who needed help would always be able to find it. Just before he left, Maka confronted him about being a demigod, just like her cousin. He had sighed and nodded.
"It's an unusual occurrence, Maka, for someone like me to exist. My soul is dangerous and powerful, even without the added power of being a grigori soul. I have never been able to wield a weapon since Jackie died without severely hurting them. Even other demigod weapons are hurt by my wavelength, which I think is being amplified by a broken heart. I have decided to leave Death City and return to my brothers and sisters in New York. If any of them have weapon or meister potential, like Percy and Annabeth, I'll be sure to send them your way."
Maka nodded her acceptance of this and sighed. "I was just hoping to learn more about the power of my grigori soul."
David grinned. "I will tell you this. If you can raise Soul to a Death Scythe, you will gain a magnificent ability due to your powerful soul. Remember this, train hard, and when you have reached that level, let me know. I'll be cheering for you, Maka." He gave her a hug and turned around to walk away.
Life continued on, as it tends to, and Maka waited for the day she finally heard from Annabeth again. She had tried emailing Sally, who only knew the two were on a mission, and her uncle Frederick, who didn't know Annabeth had left her camp.
Finally, six months after Percy and Annabeth had left, a rainbow suddenly appeared in front of Maka. She stared, confused until the rainbow morphed into Annabeth's face. She looked panicked and tired, but relieved to see her cousin.
"Annabeth! Is everything all right?"
Annabeth sighed and shook her head. "Not really. Have you heard from Percy recently?"
Maka frowned. "No. Why?"
"He's missing."A/N No, this is not a lead-in to Heroes of Olympus. This is meant to be a lead-in to a PJO/HP x-over fic I had an idea for a long time ago. I'm gonna try and write it (though if you're reading this, you know my luck with that) and post it for you guys, so keep a lookout, I think it'll be a good one.
