Honor To The End: The Unseen Deaths of The Transformers: The Movie
Chapter 1: Wheeljack and Windcharger
Wheeljack was whistling the tune of a human song called "The Touch" as he scuttled about his laboratory. He truly appreciated the greater supply of material he'd received ever since Optimus and his team returned from Cybertron. He had even used some of it to help build Autobot City.
However, the mad scientist wasn't working at the moment; he was tidying up the lab for Ratchet. Ratchet always did appreciate a clean, orderly working space, Wheeljack remembered. His old friend would be arriving on a shuttle along with Ironhide, Prowl, and Brawn. He hadn't seen any of them in person since the turn of the millennium, and though he was quite fond of Kup, Ultra Magnus, and Blurr, he couldn't help but miss his old Ark shipmates. He began to think back, with nostalgia, on his adventures on Earth before the Decepticons conquered Cybertron, like when Ratchet and himself created the Dinobots, and then when the Dinobots discovered the human holiday Father's Day* and decided to celebrate it for them.
The door to his laboratory opened, and Windcharger walked in. Wheeljack smiled underneath his mouth guard. "Hey, Windcharger! Great to see you! Could help me move this crate of Boom-Sticks? I want everything to be in tip-top shape for when Ratchet gets here."
"It's not gonna randomly explode is it?" asked Windcharger, warily.
Wheeljack scoffed. "Puh-lease! We'll be absolutely fine, so long as we're both careful!"
Windcharger rolled his optics, but grabbed the other side of the machine with both his arms. "If you say so…" he said, unsurely. Wheeljack accidently stepped on a nearby machine and stumbled a little, but recovered quickly, and without dropping the crate.
Suddenly, the whole city shook, and the crate dropped and hit the floor. The explosion that sounded was deafening to anyone nearby, and had everyone on full alert. Moments later, the Decepticons began their siege of Autobot City. To anyone else, it would have seemed if their first target was Wheeljack's laboratory. However, Wheeljack and Windcharger both perished minutes before the Decepticons even came within firing range of the fortress. Wheeljack had accidently stepped on an Earth-shaker device, triggering the blast that ended his own life.
