AN: Sorry it's been a while but this is it, the final chapter, then I'm moving on to some new story ideas I have that are avengers centric, sorry no more Jack Frost for me.
Disclaimer: I own nothing!
"And the next thing I knew I was back on Earth." Jack finished. The avengers and Loki had gathered around what Jack deemed to be Stark's version of a living room to hear Jack recount his adventures. They were all seated on incredibly expensive white sofas that made Jack feel guilty about sitting on. He was still coated in sand and sweat and from his leg was seeping a small trail of blood. Tony had waved his concerns away about ruining the furniture and assured him that it was his fault for choosing white considering his lifestyle.
So once everyone was settled Jack began to talk and quickly realized how parched he was as his voice struggled to form the words. Luckily Doctor Banner noticed his struggle and got him a glass of water which Jack drained, as well as the two glasses that followed. Once his throat stopped resembling the Sahara Jack once again began to tell his story. He was surprised by how easily the words came to him once he started and throughout his story the Avengers had all been miraculously quiet. Once he finished Jack looked around to gage their reactions.
Captain America had gotten a first aid kit before Jack had even started talking and had spent the entire time focused on tending to his leg wound and other minor cuts, though Jack didn't doubt for a second that he wasn't paying attention to his every word. Doctor Banner had offered to help, as he was an actual doctor, but the captain had reassured him that the wound looked like it had been treated already and he could handle the simple task of cleaning and applying fresh bandages. Banner promised to give Jack a proper examination later. Now the Captain having finished his work stood and left the room to return the first aid kit to wherever he had found it.
"Way save the world kid!" Barton exclaimed suddenly causing Jack to jump and then grimes as the movement jostled his leg. Barton was grinning widely and raised his fist in the air for Jack to bump, and with a matching grin Jack did. Out of everyone in the room Hawkeye was the only one who actually looked happy with the news that Thanos would not be blowing up the planet any time soon.
Doctor Banner had a thoughtful look on his face and he was studying Jacks staff like it was a puzzle to be solved. Jack unconsciously tightened his grip on his staff. It wasn't that he didn't trust the doctor, on the contrary he actually admired him, it was just that he knew how tempting it must be for him to want to study it. But Jack knew it would be incredibly dangerous for the doctor, or anyone, to try to touch the staff let alone examine it. He would have to keep a close eye on it and make sure SHIELD never got its hands on it.
Tony was downing a bottle of scotch at an almost alarming pace, not even bothering to pour it into a glass. He was slightly pale and lacked his usual confident smirk. Jack had a feeling Stark didn't like how large his universe had gotten in the past year, and talk of aliens and infinity stones was probably bringing up some unwanted memories from the Battle of New York.
Agent Romanoff was watching Jack with calculating eyes. Her face was devoid of emotion and her stare was unnerving him, it reminded him of a shark. He knew she was storing away everything he said and did so she could recall it later for Fury. Jack wouldn't be surprised if she had a recording device hidden somewhere as well.
Finally Jack turned to his father who had chosen to sit next to him on the sofa and spent the entire time with one arm wrapped protectively around Jack's shoulders, as if he was worried Jack would disappear again. Loki was giving Thor a meaningful look that Jack couldn't understand. Thor raised his eyebrows and gave a small nod of his head in Jacks direction while Loki shook his head no. They were both frowning at each other and Jack wasn't sure why. They appeared to be having some silent debate that reminded Jack that they were in fact brothers. Finally Thor stood up just as the Captain returned. Instantly everyone's attention was taken off of Jack and shifted to his uncle.
"I must return to Asgard to spread the good news. My mother would want to know of Jack's safe return." Thor smiled and stood in front of Jack. He clasped a muscular hand on Jacks shoulder which nearly threw Jack off the sofa. "You have done well nephew, all of Midgard is in your debt as well as I for keeping your father and my brother safe." Thor stepped back surveyed the room. "I must go now friends but I will return soon."
Various goodbyes were called out as Thor opened the nearest window and jumped out. There was a distant sound of thunder rumbling and flash of lightening before the room was silent once again. Loki sighed before standing.
"My, he does have a flare for the dramatics." Loki groaned.
"Coming from you that's hilarious." Stark shot back, clearly recovering from whatever internal meltdown he was having earlier. He flashed Jack a smile while Loki glared at him.
"One day I will end you."
"Sure you will."
With one last glare at Stark Loki turned to face Jack and offered him a hand to help him up. "Come on Jack lets go home."
"Wait Fury will want-" Natasha spoke up.
"I don't care what Fury wants, I don't answer to him. I do what I want, and right now I want to take my son home." Loki stared down Natasha who had yet to rise from her spot on an adjacent sofa.
"What about the infinity stone." Natasha responded coolly. She was never intimidated by Loki, even when he stood towering over her.
"It is in perfectly capable hands for now. And you will know where to find it if there is any trouble, now good day." With that he began to lead Jack toward the elevators. Jack looked back over his shoulder at the avengers. Natasha hadn't moved but she was smiling at Jack now. Their eyes locked and she gave him a wink, and he grinned back. He gave one last wave before the elevator doors closed and his view of the team.
Something told him he would be hearing from them soon, and he couldn't wait for that time to come. But until then he would be perfectly content at home. With a small sigh Jack leaned back into his father who had his arms wrapped around Jack in a loose hug.
"Don't ever do that to me again." Loki whispered into Jacks hair as he leaned his forehead to rest on the back of Jacks head.
Jack couldn't help but respond, "No promises."
