"Now that all participants are picked, we please ask for the remainders of each team to step back." Chapati informed politely.

"Do your best!" Lucy encouraged.

"You better not lose this, man!" Natsu warned.

I frowned and whacked Natsu upside the head.

"Ow! What was that for?!" Natsu demanded, holding his head and looking at me.

"You know what that was for, idiot." I scolded before turning to Gray, "Good luck, Gray." I said grinning.

Natsu mumbled words under his breath as he headed towards the wall of the arena.

By the time we made it to the far end of the arena "Hidden" had already started. We watched in amazement as an entire city was formed right in the arena.

"Woah! That's some serious magic!" I said in shock.

"A city?!" Lucy said, also in shock.

"It's huge." Erza commented.

"Woah!" Natsu said in amazement.

"What the heck is going on?!" Elfman exclaimed.

The city was finished constructing and we could no longer see Gray nor any of the others contestants. The others weren't joking when they said this tournament isn't what you'd expect.

"Everyone in the stadium, you can keep track of everything happening side the city with our lacrima vision." Eight lacrima screens popped up and each screen showed each participant.

"The eight participating competitors don't know the whereabouts of each other. The rules of hidden are simple. All of you will be "it" and be looking for each other mutually. Find each other inside that city. You're free to use any magic you like, you just need to land one hit. If contact is made, a point is added to the attacker and taken from the victim. Damage doesn't matter." That's when we saw blurry images appearing around all the participants until they formed into copies of them.

"Copies, huh? Now it really is a game of hide n' seek." I stated.

I felt weight on my shoulder, I looked over it and sweatdropped seeing Natsu like he normally does when he gets motion sick.

"What's wrong with you? Nothing's moving." I asked confused.

"No, it's all the Gray's. Seeing so many of his face's is making me sick to my stomach." I deadpanned at the stupid reason.

"Grow up." I said in a monotone voice and pushed him off my shoulder.

He landed on the ground with a "thump" and I only heard him groan after that.

"Glad to see something's normal out of all of this." Lucy muttered sweatdropping.

"These are copies of all of you. If you attack a copy by mistake, you will lose a point. Okay, then! Vanish, into the stillness! Stalk like black cats under the shroud of night! Hidden has begun!" Chapati announced excitedly.

"Now I'm starting to wish I volunteered. I could have easily sniffed out the real ones from the copies." I said crossing my arms.

"Yeah, Vez or Natsu's noses would have come in handy for this." Lucy agreed.

"It's in the past now. Gray might not have the sense of smell that Vez or Natsu has, but that doesn't mean he can't win." Erza advised.

"Yeah, Erza's right. Gray's a real man!" Elfman agreed.

"But speaking of Gray, I wonder how Juvia's gonna handle seeing all those copies of him." I wondered.

"Oh she's definitely going to snap." Lucy smiling nervously and sweatdropping.

As if on queue we watched as Juvia hugged one of the Gray's and loud buzzer sounded then she was shocked with electricity. She now had a negative one points.

I couldn't help but chuckle, "I have a feeling Team B is not liking this." I said amused.

"Look at this, Juvia has attacked a copy and lost one point. To handle this, we will wait ten seconds. After which we will restart the game in a different area. If this happens to any other wizards, we will do the same. Deduct one point, wait ten seconds, and restart in a different area. As long as time is left on the clock, the game can be repeated as many times as needed. The time limit is thirty minutes, the team with the most points wins!" Chapati informed us.

We watched as Gray ran through all of the copies until he stopped, facing against the participant from Raven Tail named Nullpudding.

I furrowed my eyebrows at that, "Why would he reveal himself that easily to Gray? It doesn't seem right." I muttered.

"Ice Make: Ice Hammer!" Gray slammed the huge ice hammer onto Nullpudding. Unlocking second origin definitely increased his power. That's the strongest I've seen his ice hammer get.

The buzzer went off followed by the electricity, meaning Gray got it wrong and attacked a copy.

"I knew it was too easy." Erza nodded her head in agreement.

"What?! The real one was behind him?!" Natsu, Lucy, and Elfman yelled in shock.

The game then restarted again, "This game is just about finding your opponents but hiding is still part of it. You can use the copies to your advantage by tricking your opponent into attacking one of them. That's why the points can go negative in this game. You can go the entire game not attacking the real one but by tricking your opponent to keep attacking the wrong you. Zero is still a higher number than a negative one which means you would still win. The point of Hidden is exactly what the name means. Stay hidden among your copies and strike your opponent when they get close." I explained to them.

"No way, you got it that quickly?" Elfman said in surprise.

"Eh well, strategy's have always been one of my strong suits." I said smiling nervously and scratching the back of my head.

"That's Vez for you." Lucy said smiling.

"Man, this is so confusing!" Natsu yelled, ruffling his hair.

"No kidding, I'm glad I didn't go. This would have been impossible for me." Elfman stated.

"All it takes is one mistake, and you've given yourself away to your opponent." Erza added.

"There's that, but there's also the point of your magic power. The copies don't have any, so once your opponent senses your magic power, it's over." I added to Erza's comment.

"No way, you mean they also have to conceal their magic power?" Lucy said in disbelief.

"Afraid so. That would explain why there's a ten second restart. Once you reveal your magic power everyone will know where your located." I stated.

"Gray~! I found you!" My eyes widen in surprise as Nullpudding landed a hit on Gray.

"What?!" I yelled in shock.

"Gray!" Natsu yelled out of concern.

"How'd he know?!" Erza questioned.

"That's what I would like to know! Gray didn't give himself away once, yet this guy knew exactly which one he was!" I said exasperated.

"And Raven Tail's Nullpudding has taken the lead!"

"Detecting one's magic power is one thing but identifying them specifically is completely different." Erza stated.

"If he was a Dragon Slayer, it wouldn't be that difficult but he's not. That's why right now I'm questioning foul play from Raven Tail's part." I added.

"He did attack Gray twice, it's almost like he's targeting only Gray." Lucy added.

"What are you doing man?!" Natsu yelled.

"Why are you letting him attack you twice?!" Elfman yelled.

I sighed, these two knuckleheads didn't listen to a single word we just said, did they?

I turned my attention back to the screen and saw that all the participants minus Sabertooth's and Raven Tail's were all together in one spot.

I grinned seeing Juvia do a jump kick on Lyon and nailed him to the floor. Lyon did not mind that quick panty shot from her either.

"I'm going to defeat you, I promised Master." Juvia's voice came through the lacrima vision.

"Promise?" We all questioned.

"You promised the old man?" Gray asked confused.

"Yes, the master said whichever team has the lowest points will have to do that winners bidding." My jaw dropped.

"What the hell old man?!" I yelled, facing where Fairy Tail's balcony was.

I could see Gramps sweating over there and was avoiding eye contact with me.

"I don't like the sound of that." Lucy whined.

"Uh, Vez." I calmed down for a second to look at Elfman who was pointing where Team B was at.

I could see Laxus looking at me with a smug smirk, "Drop that damn smirk now!" I yelled as a huge tick mark appeared on my head.

That's when I heard Gray and Juvia cry out in pain. I turned back to the lacrima vision and once again Nullpudding attacked Gray and Juvia this time.

"Okay now he's definitely targeting Gray." I said through my gritted teeth.

"That bastard…" Erza seethed.

That's when snow started to fall all over the city. That magic I recognized to belonging to Eve from Blue Pegasus. His Snow Magic was interesting to see seven years ago when we faced Oracion Seis together.

Eve easily struck three of the participants thanks to seeing the breath come from them, sadly though Lyon got him since he's an Ice Wizard and use to the cold.

And every time the game was restarted, Nullpudding kept targeting Gray and no one else. Raven Tail was not playing fair, that's for sure.

"Several of our participants are racking up or losing points as we speak but we have yet to see Rufus of Sabertooth in action. He isn't catching anyone, but he's not being caught by anyone either." Chapati brought up a good point. We haven't seen the Sabertooth guy in sometime. Where was he?

"This challenge is far too simple." My eyes widen, without the lacrima vision I could see a red figure standing on the tallest building of the city.

"How long has he been there?!" I asked, caught off guard.

"I remember perfectly. Your movements, your footsteps, your magic power signatures. I remember it all." What the hell was this guy talking about.

"Gray above you!" Natsu yelled.

"It's like he's saying "I've found you!" Elfman stated.

"Memory Make…" Both Erza and I frowned a serious face at that.

"Creation Magic?!" Erza yelled in shock.

"What kind of Maker Magic allows you create them from your memory?!" I exclaimed in astonishment.

"Into a Night of Falling Stars!" The attack split into seven separate beams and headed straight for every participant. Six of the beams their targets but Nullpudding dodged his and went straight for Rufus.

Nullpudding went in for a punch but Rufus just disappeared. There's no way a copy would be way up there.

"A copy?!" Narupuding yelled in shock.

"That was a memory of me standing there." Rufus said, appearing behind him.

"I have no need for decoys." At that moment the same spell from before hit Nullpudding.

"He got them all! In one instant, he took the lead! That's the power of Rufus! That's the power of Sabertooth!" Chapati announced.

The five of us only watched the screen in silence and shock. So this is the power of Sabertooth.

"This challenge isn't interesting at all, organizers. I have no need to hide whatsoever. Even if I were to be found, I wouldn't be able to be hit. What's left of me there is just a memory after all." Rufus said arrogantly.

"Tch, that's one arrogant bastard." I commented, glaring at the screen.

A second later I watched as Nullpudding once again attacked Gray.

"That guy is really starting to piss me off…" I seethed through my teeth.

"Instead of going after the opponent who's out in the open.." Lucy started.

"He's coming after us." Erza finished.

The timer then went off and the city vanished, "And that's the end of it! There are the standings! This is just the first event, so these rankings can still change at any time."

"Just as well all expected, first place go to Sabertooth. Too bad for both of Fairy Tail's teams, they come in behind." My jaw and fists clenched as I heard the crowd laughing at us.

"I knew they were weak! Those Fairy Tail guys!" I heard someone shout.

"Last as always!" Another one.

"Face it, your time is over Fairy Tail!"

"What the hell is so funny?!" Natsu yelled, snapping.

"Oooh, look how scary hahahaha!"

"Look at him whining!"

"Forget it." Erza said calmly.

"If they wanna laugh, let them." Elfman agreed with Erza.

"We'll be the ones with the last laugh when we win this." I added.

"I'm sorry." I glanced over at Gray who had his head down.

"It's okay. It's just the first round." Gray ignored her and kept walking.

"We'll be entering the battle part, next. If we call your name, please step forward. The first match of day one! Fairy Tail A's Lucy Heartfilia vs Raven Tail's Flare Corona!" I did not like the sound of that. I don't trust Raven Tail for a second.
