The Show is Now Cancelled

To everyone that followed and enjoyed Blacklight Avatar, I am afraid to say that I am killing this story as of now.

I can't help but feel that would mean more if it hadn't been dead and then on Indefinite Hiatus for over a year.

But yeah, after writing out Alex in Shards of Impossibility, I have to say that I'm not happy with this Alex anymore. And as pointed out, it's stuck following the story rails too much. This is partly because of how my mind works. I watch part of an episode, and as it plays I'm thinking how Alex could change that up just by being there. And then I watch more of the episode or season and I wonder how Alex could change up that part. And so I feel that I should stick to parts of the script to engineer the cool ideas I've got. I'm trying to change that, but sometimes it's not as easy as you'd think.

As a parting gift for everyone who followed this story, I'm going to tell you what I had planned for the end of Book 3 and Book 4.

Book 3:

When Zaheer invaded Air Temple Island, the fight between him and Kya would've knocked Alex's tank holding his biomass into the bay, and it would get washed out to an Earth Kingdom fishing village where it cracked open. The Supreme Hunter, Heller, and General Randall would have been inside the biomass, and escape and go their separate ways. The Supreme Hunter would obviously start infecting people, and find the Red Lotus and make them his pawns, before going after the Avatar because she would be dangerous. Heller goes looking for Alex, wanting revenge. And Randall would head for Ba Sing Se, where he would find a surviving squad of Blacklight Troopers, including Williams the Orion. With Infected attacking the Earth Kingdom, Randall manages to get himself and Blackwatch recruited by the Earth Queen to deal with them, before conflict of interests end with Blackwatch deposing her and taking over the Earth Kingdom as it's defenders.

At the same time, The Krew are fending off the Supreme Hunter, the Red Lotus, and Alex is busy with Heller. Alex uses Metalbending to trap Heller in a ball in his natural state, kicking him away. Meanwhile, the Krew fend off the Red Lotus and send the Hunter packing. Chasing after them and Korra getting captured, Alex gains control of a large number of Infected, using them to swarm the Red Lotus and distract the Supreme Hunter long enough for him to use Combustionbending. Basically surrounding the Hunter in a cage of biomass with multiple eyes, and bombing him to death. Korra would get poisoned, Alex would help cure her a bit, and Book 3 would end with Infected ravaging the Earth Kingdom and Blackwatch in control of the kingdom. And Randall died somehow.

Book 4:

Book 4 would open with Kuvira creating the Earth Empire army, but instead of just wanting power and order, she's fighting to drive out the Infected and retake the Earth Kingdom from Blackwatch. She has a hatred for Blacklight and Blackwatch. Meanwhile, Blackwatch is trying to deal with the Infected while under attack from the EE, and Alex found his control over the Infected gone. So he went underground as an Infected to try and reconnect. Korra returns to normal and tries to negotiate a ceasefire or something, but it doesn't work and ends with Kuvira attacking Republic City like in the cartoon. But Bolin and Varrick, having defected and been captured by Blackwatch, managed to negotiate with the new Earth Queen, Williams, who simply wants to have a place Blackwatch won't be hunted and possibly create a portal back to Earth. So they unite against Kuvira and the Infected. Luckily, Alex manages to regain control over the Infected, and brings them in to attack the Earth Empire, throwing their lives away to stop Kuvira. Blackwatch had create a giant railgun to use against giant Infected threats, and use it to blast a hole in the Colossus. Infected get in and overload the core, causing it to explode. The rest of the Infected crowd around it, getting consumed in the explosion. Blackwatch wipes out the remaining Infected, while Alex and a team deals with Evolved that sprung up during the years and took power for themselves. Blackwatch goes back to Ba Sing Se, and Alex creates a new city just for friendly Evolved. No idea what I'd do with Heller.

Years pass. Blackwatch create a portal back to Earth, and it is two-way. As compensation for Blackwatch and Blacklight, Earth helps Avatar World recover from the damage. Korra and Asami get together, Bolin becomes famous actor, and Mako rises to Police Chief. Alex and Dana find each other, and Dana is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Years after that, after Korra passed away and a new avatar is born, Alex decides to continue her legacy by teaching her future lives. The series would've ended with the new Avatar asking Alex if he was an Avatar. And he would say that he is the Blacklight Avatar.

So there it is. The rough ideas I've had. Not the best, but probably would've been great.

Goodbye fans.
