My eyes opened when I felt my body being shifted. I looked up to find us outside a castle decorated with the West's symbol. Sesshomaru set me down gently on my feet as he spoke to the guards in front of us.

"Take them to the guest wing. The Kit will reside in the room beside Rin's own." he said coldly.

One guard, who had been eyeing me and every other human with disgust spoke.

"What of the Miko?" he bit out in disgust. Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed slightly. "She will be staying in the room next to mine." The guard tensed up, eyes wide, he stared for a moment in surprise. "Do you have a problem with that?"

"N-no m'lord, of course not!" he bowed in respect.

He stood and motioned for them to follow him. Sesshomaru guided me, gently, into the palace gates. I blushed when male guards smiled and winked at me and walked closer to Sesshomaru.

He glared at each one, with a look full of jealousy he stopped walking. He spun me around and spoke.

"Allow me to make this perfectly clear for all of you. This woman is mine. She will be my mate very soon, which means none of you will touch her unless you wish to die." he stated simply. I giggled at his jealousy.

"Is that so?" a woman's voice cut me off what I was about to say.

Sesshomaru growled slightly and turned. I looked back to see a woman that look just like Sesshomaru except her markings were different. Instead of two magenta stripes she had one jagged stripe on each cheek. She was beautiful and I knew she had to be Sesshomaru's mother.

"Yes Mother." he hissed.

She sneered as she looked at me. "She is human, and weak."

I frowned, weak? I remembered all the times Inuyasha had called me that. I was most definitely not weak. I snorted at the very thought, Sesshomaru tensed and stared at me from the corner of his eye. His mother's smirk widened.

"You believe yourself strong? Very well, show me." She said, stepping forward, her mokomoko dragged on the ground.

Sesshomaru made to step in front of me but I held him back with a glare.

"You are injured." he said "You are not fit to fight anyone, let alone my mother." he growled.

"I don't need my arms for this." I say pinning him with a soft smile. I turned to her. "You want to see the extent of my strength? That's fine, but you may want to remove the lesser demons, or they will lose their lives." I explained.

I see that some guards snickered and some heeded my warning. His mother saw this as well.

"You believe that you are that strong? Very well, those who wish to leave you may, but if you do not then I welcome you to stay."

Some shuffled out but others stayed behind to watch arrogantly. I sighed and shook my head. "Kagome, you do not have to do this." Sesshomaru chimed in.

"I do, I will prove I'm not weak." I say without looking at him.

"Girl, if I were you, I would listen to him." she spoke arrogantly.

"Good thing you are not me." I retorted. I slowly let my reiki leak out into the open air. I didn't like letting my powers leak out like that, it felt too much like a faucet and I was not a sink.

The demons besides Sesshomaru all seemed to think that was my extent as they laughed but they were in for a rude awaking. I sighed and let it all leak out my aura rose up and laced everything in holy power.

My body glowed pink and the shards around my neck levitated in response to the power.

I watched as the lower class of demons were purified in front of me. As it spilled from the doors I erected a barrier around them so that the demons that heeded my warning were not harmed.

"I am Kagome Higurashi, the Shikon No Tama Priestess and I most certainly am not weak." I said bitingly.

When I pulled in my holy powers and looked around I found many piles of ash that used to be demons and Sesshomaru was across the room his haori slightly burned. I shot him an apologetic look but he simply shook his head.

I turned back to his mother who had a wide smile. Her eyes were gleaming and her hands were clasped beneath her chin.

"Oh I'm so glad my little Sesshomaru has found a mate! She is strong and intelligent I can see it in her eyes. Sesshomaru you've done well!" she gushed to my confusion.

"Mother what is the meaning of this?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Oh can't you see, I was simply testing her. If she were too weak to even stand up for herself then I wouldn't allow you to even heal her wounds." she said.

She began to slowly walk towards me a smile on her face. I kept my guard up though, I knew how crafty some demons were.

"Humans are vulnerable beings, some are weak and others are the opposite. I'm glad Sesshomaru has found someone much stronger than even himself." she smiled.

Her arms opened to me, her palms were held out in peace and I bowed in respect. "Thank you for your blessings and compliments. I appreciate them." I say in a respectful manner. "But if I may," I stand straight and looked her in the eye, "Perhaps you should not test Mikos."

She laughed at the comment and placed a lithe hand on my shoulder. "I see your point. I am InuKimi, as you know, I am Sesshomaru's mother." she tipped her head in a bow.

"I am Kogame Higurashi, the Shikon Miko and Sesshomaru's intended." I say, not missing a beat as I bowed back.

She grinned at that. "Oh Sesshomaru, I simply must take her and show her the castle!" she gushed at him.

His eyes narrowed and before he could say anything InuKimi was walking away, my hand firmly in hers.

I looked back at Sesshomaru, his growl of irritation catching my attention. I smiled and called back to him. "I will see later on."

The last thing I saw was his curt nod before I was led (well more like dragged) through large doors.
