Paine woke up early that morning and walked to the kitchen to have breakfast. She walked quietly trying not to wake up the others. She heard a door closing and lightly footsteps walking down the stairs.

Lenne appeared then with one of Baralai's t-shirt. Paine recognized it because it was a present she had made to him when they were together.

"Oh, I didn't know you were up," Lenne said without much interest. She opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water. "Baralai is thirsty after all night... Well, you know." Lenne laughed cruelly and walked back to the room.

Paine heard as she talked with Baralai. She was asking him to stop between giggles and then silence. Paine was glad about it but it did not last long. The sound of a bed moving vibrated in all the house. Paine's face was red with ire. She could not stand hearing Baralai making out with Lenne. She took her cup of tea and walked to the outside of the house.

The morning was cold and the purple sky was turning into orange as the sun was coming out. Paine thought about Baralai. Maybe she should not insist anymore. He was with Lenne and he seemed happy after all. It was true that she could make him happy too, but she could not give him some stability. She needed to travel very frequently and she was sure most of the time Baralai would not come because of his work.

"Paine?" She was deep in her thoughts that she did not hear Baralai coming. She looked at his puzzle.

"What are you doing here?" Paine asked and looked at the door. It was closed. "I thought you were in bed."

"I couldn't sleep and I decided to go running." Paine looked at Baralai. It was true that he was sweaty. "I also went to the police station here. I have some information about Gippal accident." Paine was not listening to him. A smile grew up in her face.

"Why don't we come in and talk about it," Paine asked as she pushed Baralai inside the house. She walked to the kitchen and offered an orange juice to Baralai. The bed noise was louder now.

"Woah, who is having that fun?" Baralai smiled and Paine looked at him with a funny face. She waited in silence until she heard again the door opening. Paine pointed to Baralai to listened carefully.

"Hold on honey, I need a shower." She laughed. Baralai went serious and looked at Paine.

"I think you are the one having fun." She grinned and gave Baralai his orange juice. "Really, Baralai. What have you seen in her?"

"Paine, I have told you that it has been only one time." Paine put her hand on his shoulder trying to comfort him.

"It's okay, Baralai," Paine told him as she heard Lenne walking down the stairs again.

"Honey, I'll be back in a minute." She shouted and walked to the kitchen where she knew was Paine. However, her face paled when she saw that Paine was with Baralai too. "Baralai?" Paine looked with a funny face the scene in front of her eyes. Baralai was looking at Lenne angrily and he told her to talk alone.

Rikku woke up hearing people arguing. She looked around before getting out of the bed. She was alone. She remembered last night conversation with Gippal. She appreciated the fact that he was trying to get things right for her but she cannot force him to feel something that he did not.

A strange feeling woke up with her that morning. She felt the need to go to the bathroom and vomit. Maybe I need to have something for lunch.

She walked downstairs and met Paine, who was sitting on the last steps of the stairs in silence.

"What's up?" Rikku asked and Paine told her to be quite. "Who is having that argument?" She asked as she joined Paine and took some of her cookies.

"Baralai is leaving Lenne," Paine answered with a happy face. Finally, Lenne would disappear from her sight.

"Paine, I have something to tell you."

"Rikku, if it is something about cancelling your wedding, forget it. He will remember you. I'm sure." Paine comforted Rikku.

"No, it is not about that. Paine, I'm." Rikku was very nervous. Suddenly the voices shut up. Paine looked at the top of the stairs.

"What has happened? I haven't heard anything." The voices kept silent. Rikku rose up. She understood how Paine was feeling. "I'm sorry Rikku, what were you saying?"

"Don't worry, Paine. It is not important." She said as she caressed her flat belly. "I'm going to take a walk." She smiled and walked away.

It was past the midday and Rikku sat down on the beach. She played with the sand, burying her feet under it. Her mind was focused on her baby.

"How am I supposed to do it?" She felt her eyes watering. "I can't do it alone."

"Rikku?" A voice caught her attention. She looked up and found Gippal standing in front of her. "What's wrong?" He asked when he saw her tears.

"Nothing, don't worry." She wipes out her tears. "What are you doing here?" She asked as he sat down with her.

"This morning I seemed to remember something. Maybe I am wrong and it had been a bad dream but... I remember being in a little chapel watching a bride. Then it turned into a fight and someone shot the bride. I remember ran to her and what I saw was what terrified me. You were the bride. I have woke up with a terrible feeling and I thought that aa quick run will help me to calm down." They looked at each other in silence. "Rikku." He called her after a while. "What was it?" Rikku told him everything that happened that day. Gippal closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Rikku. I'm really are." Rikku knew him very well.

"Don't be. It is not your fault." She hugged him. Rikku knew he was a the edge of tears.

"Of course it is. You almost die because of my fault." He tried to escape her embraced but she did not let him go. Instead, she hugged him stronger until he calmed down. Gippal looked at her and pressed his head against hers. They stayed like that for too long until Rikku's stomach growled. "Are you hungry? We can go to a little restaurant I have seen before." Rikku nodded and smiled.

They came back to Paine's house after some hours. After the meal, they had been walking around a funfair. Gippal had managed to get a little chocobo for Rikku.

"You really impress me." Rikku laughed and walked into the house. "Last time you couldn't even get a point."

"Last time?" Gippal asked with a funny look as he rose one os his eyebrows.

"Well. It was when we became a couple." Rikku confessed moving his eyes from his. Gippal took her wrist, turning her to face him. He was about to say something else when Yuna interrupted them.

"You're finally back!" She sounded worried. "Where have you been?" Rikku told her about their day. "Well, I hope you're still with a craving for a party this night." She told them her great plan. Gippal asked her the reason of that plan. "We are in a paradise island! We need to enjoy it." The two blondes looked at her confused. It was not normal in her that attitude. "Okay, Baralai is not in a good mood and Tidus and I have thought that it was better to distract him a bit." Rikku and Gippal did not say anything else. They walked to their rooms to get ready.

Gippal looked at himself in the mirror as he buttoned his white t-shirt. He left it out of his black trousers. He took some gel and fixed his hair. The last thing he did was to spray some perfume on him. He really wanted to impress Rikku that night. Gippal walked out of his room and went to Rikku's door. He knocked on her door.

"Come in!" Rikku said from the other side. Gippal entered in and he could not believe what he saw. Rikku was sitting in front of a mirror, putting an earring in her right ear. She was wearing a yellow fluffy dress with purple flowers at the end of it. Gippal could not believe she could be that beautiful. "You look handsome." Rikku smiled sweetly. Gippal did not say anything and Rikku worried. "Something is wrong?"

"You look incredible..." He muttered without taking his eye from her. Gippal walked to her and offered his hand to her. "I can't wait for the others to see you." Rikku flushed and took his hand as they walked down to the hall.

When they arrived everyone was there. Yuna was cleaning Tidus up. Paine was walking around the house checking that everything was fine. Sometimes she threw a glance to Baralai, who was sitting on a couch with his eyes lost in the distance. Lenne was next to him trying to catch his attention but he ignored her.

"Well, let's go people." Tidus cheered them and walked out of the house. Everyone followed him with a shy mood.

The night went very strange for everyone. Yuna did not pay much attention to Tidus, as she was very occupied dancing and talking with everyone. Tidus did not seem to care at all as he was talking with Baralai and Lenne. Gippal could not take his eye off Rikku and he did not stop dancing with her. Paine sat on a sofa as she waited for Baralai to be alone and talk.

After an hour, everyone joined Paine on the sofa. Rikku sat next to Gippal laughing at everything he said. Gippal loved too much her laughter that he could not stop talking. Yuna noticed that but did not say anything. Tidus came with a round of shots for everyone. The group cheered him and took their shot.

"What do you think you are doing?" Baralai asked worried and took Lenne shot. "You cannot drink that!" Lenne looked at him with a shy smile as she nodded and excused herself.

"What's wrong with her?" Tidus asked looking at them. Baralai and Lenne exchanged glances. Hers was excited. His was not happy at all.

"I'm pregnant," Lenne confessed. At that moment, Paine's world shattered. That could not be true. The rest of the group looked at the couple. Lenne had waited for another reaction.

"That can't be possible," Paine muttered as she looked at Baralai. Their eyes met for a brief moment. Baralai could see the deception in Paine's eyes. He was fucked up. After these last days, where he thought he had made some progress with her... It's always the same.

He stood up and excused himself as he walked to the garden of the club. A cigar in his mouth, he looked at the night sky. His head was killing him. He closed his eyes for a moment until he felt as someone took his cigar from his mouth. Paine was in front of him with her red eyes fixed on him. She took his cigar to her mouth and threw quickly the smoke out of her lungs before putting the cigar against Baralai's lips. He inhaled the smoke without taking his eyes from her.

"If what you have told me these days was true, you know it can't be possible, right?"

"I don't know how it happened but she has shown me the predictor," Baralai confessed trying to look away but Paine did not let him. She wanted him to look at her as he told her everything about Lenne's baby.

"And she did not take it until this week?" Baralai looked at her confused. "The last time you have been with her was..." Paine waited for his answer. Baralai looked at the group of friends and then back at her. "You see?" Paine smiled triumphantly. At that time, Lenne walked to them and hold his arm.

"Honey, why don't we go back to the house? The baby and I are tired." Lenne giggled but Baralai did not move.

"Lenne, the predictor said you were three weeks pregnant, right?" Baralai looked at her seriously. "And you have taken it here, right?"

"Well, yeah. What's wrong?" Paine could see Lenne was getting a bit nervous.

"The last time you were together was two months ago," Paine answered as she walked close to them. "That baby cannot be Baralai's." Everyone looked at Lenne waiting for an answer.

"It's mine," Rikku said after a long silence. "The predictor she is talking about...It's mine." The group turned to her, who was next to Gippal. "Gippal, I." She began to say but he interrupted her.

"See?! It is Rikku's!" Paine repeated and turned quickly to her friend. "What are you saying?"

"What are you saying?!" Gippal's face went pale. "I'm sure about one thing: I'll always take protection in that kind of things!" Gippal was getting mad. Tidus tried to pace him.

"Gippal, you and Rikku were about to get married," Tidus told him.

"That can't be possible! Tidus, you know it." Gippal sounded desperate.

"It is because of that girl of yours?" Rikku was holding the tears in her eyes. She did not understand why Gippal was acting that way. "What's wrong with you?"

"Rikku, please, shut up," Tidus told her with pleading eyes. "Gippal, relax. We will talk later." Tidus was tensed.

"It is because of that Taria?" Rikku ignored him. "You are still in love with her, right?" Gippal and Tidus' faces went pale. They both looked at Baralai.

"Gippal, is that right?" Baralai voice was cold.

"Baralai, it was only one night and he is not happy about that..." Tidus explained and stopped Baralai.

"You did not care for her!" Gippal shouted as he defended himself for what he had done. "You had an argument and she came looking for me."

"And you could not respect a friend's girlfriend?!" Baralai pushed Tidus away and faced Gippal. The girls looked at them with big eyes as Baralai and Gippal had a big argument. It ended with Baralai punching Gippal, who fell to the floor and hit his head with a rock.

Rikku ran to him and knelt as she took his head and shouted at Baralai for what he had done. Baralai looked at his friend shocked. With the noise, Gippal opened his eye slowly. He looked around at them.

"What's wrong honey? And what am I doing down here?" Rikku turned to him with watering eyes. "Rikku! What's wrong?!" He rose up and held her face in his hands.

"Do you know me? Do you remember me?" Rikku asked sobbing.

"Of course I do." He hugged her and smelled her hair, but felt as he had something in his nose. He put his fingers on it and saw blood in his fingertips. "Why am I bleeding?!" Tidus helped him to stand up as he told him that he would tell him everything when they got home. Gippal did not stop hugging Rikku. Baralai could not bear to look him in the eye and walked out of the club. "What's wrong with him?" Gippal asked and Tidus repeated him that he would know later. Lenne tried to run behind him but Paine stopped her.

"I think you have done enough." She hissed as she was the one to follow him.
