Chapter 30

Lily wipes her eyes and walks over to Severus, she then places her hand over the dark mark which took some of his pain away "We are going to fight him, we are going to win and we are going to be a family."

Lily and Severus leave the RoR, they walk down the corridor hand in hand, and Lily still had her right hand pressed against Severus's dark mark. The professors had managed to get the students to a safe place away from the castle including the Slytherin students and some of them were happy to escape.

They walked out of the doors and the safety of Hogwarts castle, Voldemort was standing inside of the school gates with his followers, Severus did notice the lack of platinum blonde hair in the sea of deatheaters.

Lily stops Severus, she turns to face him "it will be okay Sev, we will get through this. I love you."

Severus kisses her and smiles "I love you too Lily but you have to leave when it goes bad, Harry will need you."

Voldemort looks at his traitor spy "You ruined everything for a Mudblood Sssseverussss; you have betrayed OUR house and ME."

Severus looks at the snake like wizard "I made my choice."

Voldemort was angry and everyone knew it, his followers stood back from their evil master, they weren't all that stupid, Bellatrix was practically drooling with excitement.

Voldemort points his wand at Severus and Lily "such a shame you won't be around when I kill the boy and take over."

Salazar floated out of the castle and floated beside Severus "are you disagreeing with the heir of Slytherin by magic, Riddle?"

Voldemort looks at his ancestor angrily "YESSSSSSS, he is a traitor. He will be stripped from the Slytherin house. My house does not have TRAITORS!"

Salazar looks at his heir by blood and nods "I Lord Salazar Slytherin hereby remove and disown Tom Marvolo Riddle from Slytherin house and I call upon the power of the Slytherin house to remove Tom Marvolo Riddle from the Slytherin bloodline and family tree. I Lord Salazar Slytherin hereby disown Tom Marvolo Riddle as the heir of the Slytherin house by blood."

Salazar waved his wand around Voldemort. Voldemort yelled as his magic and status as Slytherin heir were removed from within him. Severus places Lily behind him just in case anything goes wrong. Lily holds on to Severus's arm and her wand tightly ready to fight for the freedom of the wizarding world and Harry.

When the black whirlwind that was around Voldemort finally disappeared, he pointed his wand at Severus and Lily again "Maybe I should keep you both alive just enough so you can both watch as I torture and kill the boy."

Albus steps forward with his wand trained on his ex-student "You will not harm Mr. Potter. He is no longer your equal Tom, you lost your title as heir of Slytherin but as a few minutes ago Harry was given the protection of the heir of Slytherin by magic due to Severus and Lily's marriage."

This news made Voldemort even angrier but it then clicked in his head that if Harry wasn't his equal anymore that meant that anyone could kill him. Voldemort then tried to fire off the killing curse towards Severus and Lily but it was deflected off a protection spell that Lily was holding over herself and Severus.

The spell bounced off the protection 'bubble', the spell hit Voldemort square in the chest. They all watched some in horror and some in shock as the most evil and powerful wizard in the wizarding world crumbled and turned into ash right on the spot, he had been killed by his own killing curse.

His followers became angry about what had happened but when they tried to use their wands against Albus, Minerva, Severus and Lily they figured out that they couldn't. The castle and its surrounding grounds where protecting Severus and Salazar by not allowing anyone who wanted to harm the heirs of a Hogwarts house by use of magic.

Aurors arrived and so did members of the Order. Albus smiles and looks over at Lily and Severus. Lily was on sitting on the steps holding Severus who was actually crying, he felt relieved that Voldemort was finally dead, he didn't have to answer to anyone anymore. Severus Snape was finally a free man.

Lily holds him "It's okay Sev, you're free now. He's gone, he's finally gone. He can't hurt anyone anymore."

She kisses his head "he's gone Sev, he can't hurt you anymore."

Severus looks up at her and nods "he's gone; he can't hurt anyone ever again. We're safe and so is Harry."

Lily helps Severus to stand up; they stood and watch all deatheaters get given the dementors kiss. The dementors swopped on to the school grounds and gave the followers the kiss.

Severus and Lily had to look away. Minerva walks over to the newly married couple, Minerva smiles and hugs them "I am so very proud of you both. I do however think you should go tell Harry."

Lily hugs her "thank you."

Lily and Severus disapparate to Grimmuald place, Lily holds Severus's hand "are you ready for this?"

Severus squeezes her hand "yes"

Lily taps her wand to the front door of 12 Grimmuald Place, the door unlocks and Lily slowly pushes it and walks inside with Severus right behind her.

Once inside the house they could hear Remus and Sirius trying calm Harry down but you could still hear the boy crying.

Sirius sighs "Harry please you need to calm down."

Harry shakes his head "I can't lose my mum again Sirius, I can't"

Remus hugs him "I know Harry, we understand we don't want to lose Lily either but it is what she has to do. She has to prove to Voldemort that she isn't going to back down."

Harry wipes his sleeve over his eyes "I want my mum."

Sirius nods "I know Harry, so do we."

They heard the stairs creak; Sirius and Remus had their wands out and pointed at the door. Then they heard the best sound ever "Harry? Sirius? Remus?"

Lily manages to reach the top of the stairs before Harry wraps his arms around her "MUM!"

Lily holds him and breaks down crying "ohh Harry, you are safe."

Harry looks at her with a confused look plastered on his face, Lily sniffs and wipes her tears away, and she looks up at Remus and Sirius "He's gone, Tom Riddle is dead."

Remus and Sirius hug each other in celebration, Harry hugs his mum even tighter "So the plan worked, everyone is safe?"

Lily nods "Yes the plan worked, he arrived told Salazar he disagreed with Severus's choice. Salazar disowned him and then Albus told Riddle that you Harry were no longer his equal and he figured it out that that meant that anyone could kill him, he tried to kill us but the protection spell I had over us bounced the spell and it hit him."

Harry turns to look at Sirius and Remus "h he's really gone."

They nod and smile, Harry has the biggest smile plastered on his face. Lily leans back against Severus's chest "everyone is safe, his followers are receiving the kiss as we speak at Hogwarts."

Harry holds his hand out to Severus "Thank you for keeping her safe and I know that you will continue to keep her safe."

Severus shakes his hand "I will continue to keep you both safe Harry, I am not here to replace your father and I know that you have Black and Lupin to help you, but I hope you do realise that I am here also."

Harry nods "thank you Severus, I know that my dad would be happy just like we are to know that Voldemort is gone and that we are all safe and that the wizarding world can finally grieve and rebuild so that it can become stronger than it was before."

Remus and Sirius also shook his hand and thanked him for keeping Lily and Harry safe. Lily kisses his cheek; Harry stands opposite them with Sirius and Remus "shouldn't you two be enjoying your honeymoon right now."

Lily laughs "I don't think we will have one."

Severus nods to the wizards and disapparates himself and Lily to Spinners end. Lily holds on to him and then hit his chest and laughs "don't do that."

Severus leads her inside, Lily becomes speechless "wow this place is different. You really did change it Sev, I like it."

Severus nods "thank you, this place had to many bad memories so I decided to do something about it."

Lily smiles "I know how much you hated this place Sev; I do hope that we can create some happy and good memories to replace and get rid of the old and bad ones."

Severus wraps his arms around her "I do hope that the three of us can, maybe could become four."

Lily places her hands on his shoulders "I know that the three of us can create good memories here and who knows what might happen."

They share a kiss as Severus shuts the front door. Both finally free to live their lives without fear of Voldemort, they were finally free.

Who knew that even dark magic could have small print.
