This Never Happened…(Or Did It?)

Disclaimer: I own none of the characters used in this fiction other than Jade. They belong to Muffy Morrigan who is the author of a fabulous book called The Sail Weaver. She also wrote the Custodis Noctis series (dear God I hope that I spelled that right). Read her works…(then run away from her cat)

"I'm not sure that this is a very good idea." Tristan said hesitantly as he cracked open the door to their victim's sleeping quarters. "You know her 'minion's' are watching at all times."

"We have to do this. Firstly, because she needs a boost of morale, and secondly, because I'm bored." Fenfyr replied, as his tail coiled lazily behind him carefully carrying a covered basket.

"I wouldn't call dumping a litter of kittens in her room a boost of morale." Tristan objected.

"But she LOVES kittens, how could these possibly fail?" Fenfyr asked handing the basket to Tristan, who reluctantly slid it into the room of the victim.

"But her minions…" Tristan sighed in defeat as the deed was done.

"Surely you can't be afraid of a few spiders?" Fenfyr teased.

"There is a reason that she's called the Queen of Spiders." Tristan reminded him.

"Surely that's just a rumor; there can't be any substance to that nickname." Fenfyr replied as they both looked towards a noise down the hallway. They saw Jade and Alden come around the corner. Alden was carrying a small cage.

"What are you two up to?" Jade asked with a twinkle in her eye.

"We're trying to cheer her up." Tristan tilted his head towards the victim's slightly opened door.

"With Kittens…" Fenfyr added.

"Only kittens? Surely you can't be serious and only using kittens. You know what you need? Otters…she LOVES otters…." Jade replied with a silent chuckle. "Alright Alden, nice and quiet slide them in there."

Alden quietly slipped the otter cage in on the opposite side of where Tristan had slid in the kitten basket.

"So what do we do now?" Tristan asked.

"We get the hell out of Dodge." Jade advised. Tristan shut the door to the victim's room quietly and they all departed. "Oh by the way, there's a unmarked hidden camera in her room…we'll get to see everything.

After they'd left and gone to a secret hiding place to watch the result the following things happened in the victim's room.

First, a couple inquisitive spiders caught the eyes of the kittens in the basket. The kittens scrambled out of the basket after the spiders.

Second, one of the kittens got sidetracked and opened the cage that held the otters, who scrambled out starting to play.

Finally, one of the otters found a hiding place under the victim's bed. The victim, who it should be known is named Muffy, woke up seeing the otter face peeking out from under the bed. "Oh…Hello Mr. Otter…." She saw the rest of the antics going on with the remaining otters and the kittens. "Alright WHO MADE THIS BIG MESS?" She exclaimed in surprise before a kitten jumped up on her bed and started tickling her, causing her to laugh.

The next day, Muffy went around the grounds of where she lived with a kitten perched on her shoulder, a otter In a carrying basket in her hand, and a spider perched on her head. She also had a great smile on her face…

But of course such an outrageous story could never happen…Could it?
