Ch.4
Ten minutes later…
Star smiled nervously as an older goblin came in and introduced himself as Ragnork the head goblin, he then noticed Pitch lying beside her and froze at seeing a Night Fury in front of him. He then looked at Star and asked "Lady Potter where did you get a rare Night Fury Dragon?"
Star sighed in amusement and then explained the story of how she had found Pitch and how they bonded with each other, Ragnork then said "Then it's a good thing you came for an inheritance test… The Night Fury breed is tied to one of the first Wizarding families that came into being after befriending the breed. The question is which one of your parents was the descendent of that family…"
Star nodded as the head goblin told her what to do for the inheritance test then she let him prick her finger as the blood dripped on to the paper and began to fill out her family tree on the paper, everyone then looked at the paper in surprise as they saw the inheritance test…

Star was in shock as her eyes were locked on the line with the words Soulmate Bond because she had never even heard of Pitch Black before until the Head goblin then said "It seems that The Man in the Moon has bigger plans for you, Lady Potter…It's very rare that a Spirit gains a Soulmate. The last time this happened was a young woman who was soulbonded to The Guardian of Wonder…"
"The Guardian of…Wonder? Who is that?"
The Goblin smiled and said "You get presents from him each Christmas Eve…"
Star's eyes went wide in shock and hope as she said "Santa…is real?"
The head goblin's eyes went wide as he said "Have you never gotten a present from him?"
Star shook her head as she said "The Dursleys took all the presents for themselves all though Dudley always got more than any kid I knew at Christmas. I wouldn't put it past them to have taken my gifts from Santa and give them to Dudley…"
The head goblin growled and said "I'm sure the Guardians are not happy about that…Have you ever gotten anything from The Easter bunny or The Tooth fairy?"
Star shook her head and said "Never got to even touch them, the Dursleys would make me give Dudley my Baby teeth as they fell out and I was kept in the house during the Easter egg hunts."
Dumbledore sighed angrily and said "I wish that Fudge would see reason that you're not safe there…He refuses to see reason that the Dursleys are not good for your health with what you're put through by them."
Star sighed as Pitch looked up at her with worried eyes as he now knew why MiM had placed him with Star, he gently nuzzled her hand and gave a small coo causing Star to smile. He purred as Star scratched behind his horns and ears, she was staring off into space as she then asked "So who is This Nightmare King?"
Ragnork sighed and said "he's also known by a more recent name that he hates to be called, He's more commonly called The Boogieman these days…"
Star blinked in shock as she then said "Wait….the Boogieman? I do remember a strange horse like creature once in the Dursleys with a man following it…all I remember really is Amber eyes that made me actually feel safe when he looked around…"
Ragnork looked shocked and said "You saw a Nightmare and the Nightmare King when you were younger?"
Star nodded as Pitch looked up at her in surprise as he never knew that she had been able to see him in his true form but he soon started purring happily as he nuzzled his soulmate's hand with delight, Star looked down at him with a smile tugging at her lips before gently scratching between his ears. Ragnork then said "Lady Potter…you do realize that the MIM would have arranged for a way for you both to meet and also bond with each other correct?"
Star blinked then shook her head as Dumbledore's eyes went wide as he said "Ragnork, you can't seriously be thinking that…."
"Perhaps that Nightmare is the Nightmare king himself? I'm afraid it's quite possible as I remember hearing that North got himself trapped in the form of either a Polar bear cub or a wolf cub accidently when he met his soul mate, it turned out the MIM arranged for it to happen so that he and his soulmate could meet and create their bond."
Star was in shock as she then tuned out the two males and focused on her companion as she said softly "Nightmare…is their theory on who you really are correct? Is your name actually Pitch?"
Pitch sighed and sadly nodded as he nuzzled her hand wishing he could actually talk to her for once instead of having to sound like a night fury all the damn time, Star's eyes softened as she then knelt beside him and gave him a hug around his neck as she whispered "Then I'm glad that MIM did this for us…although I really do wish we could talk to each other rather than me having to play charades with you most of the time…."
Pitch nodded in agreement as he nuzzled her cheek with a soft yet content sigh as they looked into each other's with their shared longing for Star to actually be able understand Pitch, they then heard an amused sounding cough coming from nearby and turned with wide eyes to see Dumbledore trying to hide a smirk and Ragnork laughing quietly behind his hand at the two soulmates. Both Star and Pitch blushed at the attention as Star quickly sat back down on the chair while Pitch lay next to her with a sheepish look to his eyes...
2 hours later...
Star and Pitch walked behind Dumbledore in a daze at they had learned in the bank, Star then glanced at Pitch who looked up at her before nuzzling her arm as the 3 entered the Leaky Cauldron and proceeded through the Floo back to Sirius's home where they were met by Sirius, Remus and Molly standing alone in the kitchen. Sirius took one look and said "Is what you found out that bad or something to cause that look on your face?"
Dumbledore chuckled softly as he gently pushed Star towards the door and said to Sirius, "More like it was really unexpected test results and a fair bit of a shock with some of the details..."
Star then headed upstairs with Pitch at her side to their room and Star sat on the bed as Pitch closed the door with his tail, he then jumped up on the bed and laid his head in Star's lap with a soft sigh prompting Star to smile and scratch his ears gently. Pitch purred in delight as Star then kissed his forehead and curled up into his side as they laid there content in each other's company, Pitch then realized Star's breathing had evened out and he gently turned his head to see his soul-mate had fallen asleep as a small smile made its way on to his face. He then wrapped his tail around and gently draped it over her waist as he laid his head down, Pitch then gave a yawn before he felt his eyes grow heavy and he was soon fast asleep as the other house occupants went about their daily routine...
2 weeks later, September. 1st...
Star smiled as she gently placed a special Collar/Harness on Pitch and gently kissed his muzzle before saying "Ready to catch the Train, love?"
Pitch nuzzled her and then she heard in her head "Of course I am, my queen. I promised your godfathers that I'd protect you no matter what will happen; I would have done that anyways though."
Star laughed softly and hugged his neck as she then activated the strongest version available of the notice me not Charm that had been woven into the collar/harness so that he could stay near her without being seen, Star then stood and reached for her trunk only for Pitch to grab it and manoeuvred it on to his back. Star blinked then sighed in amusement as she shook her head then opened the door as they headed down the stairs so that they could get to the Train Station on time. The usual chaos was going on downstairs as People scrambled to make sure they had everything packed and that they weren't forgetting anything important while the adults tried to organize everyone and get out the door on time...
Hour and half later...
Star sat down in the Train compartment she had grabbed when a younger Girl with long pale blonde hair, miniature radish shaped earrings and holding a Magazine in her hand that was called the Quibbler, she then asked in a light airy and dreamy tone, "Do you mind if I join you and the Nightmare King? No one else will let me sit with them because they think I'm too Looney for them..."
Star blinked in surprise as Pitch raised his head from where he curled up and stared curiously at Luna before a look of recognition entered his eyes causing him to sit up in shock, Luna then looked at him and smiled sweetly as she said "I hope Star was worth all those years alone in your eyes, Pitch...it took quite a bit of strategising to make sure you two could meet face to face finally..."
Star was now quite confused as she looked between the two before asking "Ok, what's going on and how do you two even know each other?!"
Luna laughed softly then said "My human name is Luna Lovegood but Pitch and the Guardians know me as someone quite different although how people say I'm said to be a male can be REALLY annoying some days..."
Star blinked then suddenly put 2 and 2 together as she jawdropped and said "No...Fricking...way...You're the Spirit of the Moon who sent Pitch to me?!"
Luna grinned in amusement and nodded as Star then squealed and tackled the slightly younger girl as she said "Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you for arranging all this, I love Pitch so much and I'm so grateful He's in my life so once again thank you."
Luna laughed softly as her and Star then sat down then began talking while Star gently rubbed between Pitch's ears, Pitch just yawned then laid his head in Star's lap before purring contently while the two chattered happily before a comment from Luna caught his attention "If you two would like, Star...I can make it so only you and your Closest friends can understand Pitch out loud without the telepathic link that you two have..."
Pitch and Star then looked at each other then at Luna as Star answered with...

That's it for this chapter folks and yes I know I'm a rotten stinker doing a cliffy! Now...who saw that twist with Luna coming? Her and Star are not friends yet in this story at this point but they and Hermione become very close with each other, but anyways...got a question for you guys! Should I maybe have Jack or Bunny paired with Hermione or should I maybe have Jack join the bond between Pitch and Star a bit later on? Vote on the 2 ideas and if you vote for the first one, PLEASE tell me the pairing you would like to see! The first idea to let's say...15 votes will win!
