Unfinished

Huni and Tamaki, despite being twenty-nine, and twenty-eight, both had to fight each other to be the first one through every door. Everyone who was in the room before the doctor kicked them out were going to the recovery room. The still pregnant ones were taking a bit more time.

Range pouted. "I can't believe Suzuki had hers before us. We've been pregnant longer."

Megumi nodded. "I still have until next month for my due date."

Reiko just looked at them, wondering where her husband went. "Suzuki was pregnant for a month before any of us were, she just didn't know. Which is what she told me."

"Hmm."

But still, she was only eight months. And what are the odds of her going into labor on her wedding day? I bet Kaoru was disappointed. Did you se his face?"

"Are you guys talking about me?" Hikaru's face popped up suddenly, draping his arms over both their shoulders as he squeezed himself between them.

Renge sighed and poked his cheek. "No."

Megumi turned her cheek and gave a 'humph'. "Have you thought of a way to apologize to Kaoru for your slip up?"

Hikaru blinked, then smirked as soon as he noticed that the two heavily pregnant woman leaned on him for support. They probably didn't even realize it. "I didn't slip up."

"You've been slipping up all evening."

"No I haven't."

"Who's Aki anyway?"

"Why is everyone hating on him?"

"Not to mention you brought a police officer over to the hospital. What did you do again?"

Haruhi turned, looking back at the three of them. "He parked in a handicap zone, but I managed to tell the officer he has half a brain and isn't going to live much longer, so he let him go."

"...The officer believed that?"

"Well fake tears really makes it believable, so I guess so."

Hikaru smirked, squishing both the girl's faces neck to his, kissing their cheeks. "I didn't slip up, I just make friends way too easily."

They sighed. Ignoring him further. They all turned their attention to Huni who let out a squeal after chatting with a nurse that stood by a door. She was just closing it after walking out.

"Yes, They're all awake." The woman answered him, her pale face pink with exhaustion. "I'd hate for so many people to go inside, but they said it was okay and that they knew you all personally."

Tamaki piped up, scooting Huni away. "Is it cute?"

She blinked. "...Is what cute, sir?"

"The baby!"

"Oh yes... Mr. Hitachiin's very proud."

The two grinned wider, and looked over their shoulder where everybody else was standing. Hikaru moved his arms to shoo everyone away from him and waited until the nurse opened the door, before scooting past her to be the first one in the room. Though, even after succeeding in doing so, Tamaki still managed to be through the door the same time as he.

The nurse tipped her eyebrow towards all the weirdo's and walked away, ready to end her long shift.

Everyone was almost shoved to the floor by each other when trying to get through the last door. After a minutes the men composed themselves and stood up properly. The woman ignored their husbands and didn't see what was so special.

Hadn't they already saw enough babies already to know what it was like in a hospital room?

After everyone stepped inside, the Kaoru and Suzuki looked at them as though they were crazy, and both shushed them to be quiet. They silenced themselves immediately.

Haruhi just shrugged. Her husband has three babies at one time, how could he be so energetic now?

Suzuki looked up from the small bundle of blankets she was holding and looked at them. "Make her cry and I'll cut somebody."

Kaoru smiled and pet her head, being too high up in his happy place to do any more.

The other former host club members looked them and made their way into the room with them. The pregnant ones sighed in relief and threw themselves into the few chairs that were there, but Hikaru, Tamaki and Huni didn't waste any time going up to the bed where they both sat.

Kaoru was snuggled up to Suzuki's side, one arm behind her back, and his other arm supporting his own little pink bundle.

Tamaki gasped quietly, slowly sitting on the edge of the bed near Suzuki's feet. "...There's two."

Kaoru grinned, shifting sideways so the blankets in his hands showed. "The Hitachiin genetics are going to take over the world. A second generation of twins."

Hikaru poked his brother's arm slightly and sat right beside him on the bed without any further thought. "I knew our legacy wouldn't last forever."

Snorting quietly, Kaoru moved his arm so he could support the baby in his arms. "They're both girls. This family is so random."

Hikaru gave a fake laugh and held hi arms out. "Ha, ha, yeah. Alright, you know the drill. Hand it over."

Kaoru looked at him, tilting the baby he was holding, closer to his chest. "But..."

"After friends come in, the parents cuddle last, you know that."

"But I-"

"Rules are rules."

"You had three last time and couldn't hold them all. I was just being generous."

"...Give me the baby."

Kaoru sighed, slowly, and ever so carefully moving his baby girl away from his chest, puckering his lips, having his cuddle session with her cut short. "She's awake but she's sensitive, she doesn't like-"

Before his brother could continue, Hikaru carefully plucked the baby from his hands and brought her to his own chest, ignoring any further protest form anyone to not do so. He looked down at his new niece's soft round face and pulled her closer. A small tuff of orange hair peaked out from the rim of the blanket above her head and a tiny smile grew on his lips.

Genetics are a great thing. The every Hitachiin parent was proud that the orange hair was a strong feature in the gene pool.

The baby looked up at her uncle and crinkled her nose as though she thought he smelt particularly bad. After the long day they all had, he wouldn't doubt it.

Her bright brown eyes gave him a good competition for a staring contest but his heart was weak for the small and fragile and he lost and snuggled her even closer, squeezing her as tight as he dared.

Suzuki, with the other baby in her hand, noticed Tamaki reaching his arms out for it, and she was about to tell him off (or bite his hand) but she had a change of heart for once and sighed in defeat.

"Be careful with her." She grumbled under her breath, passing up her baby to the other blond. Tamaki nearly jumped and carefully let her hand him the little round body of the small, quiet child, who really couldn't care less who held her.

Tamaki grinned widely and slowly sat himself down in a chair, fawning over her as he sat beside his wife.

Huni looked over, wiggling oddly, still anxious to know the same thing. "What're they're names? Did you think of ones yet?"

Kaoru took the opportunity of not holding a baby, to use his free hands to pull his new wife into a gentle, yet secure embrace. "...Sort of. They're not fancy. They don't match or anything."

Huni leaned in closer, with wide eyes. "Are they American names like Suzu-chan and Andrew?"

Suzuki frowned. "No."

Kaoru shook his head, biting his lip to keep himself from smiling too wide. "Kana and Yuki."

Hikaru looked over at him, with a raised brow. "Are they vampires?"

"Very funny."

"They are pretty pale."

Suzuki looked over at him, her lips twisted in a scowl. "Babies are pale, dummy."

"Not mine. The triplets looked like they could belong in a basket of tomato's."

Haruhi took a seat on the bedside next to where her husband was sitting and snorted. "They were mostly so red because you were probably squeezing them too tight. You squeezed Keito so tight one time he actually squeaked."

Suzuki looked over at her daughter that Hikaru held and furrowed her brow in concern, wanting to take her away from him, but it didn't look like he was doing anything wrong with her so she settled back into Kaoru's arms.

Kaoru pressed his chin into her hair. "...They're a little ways apart. Yuki's older by nine minutes." He turned to Hikaru, and Hikaru could only guess that that was who he was holding.

"Well I'm older than you by six minutes, so..."

Haruhi raised the side of her lip in displeasure at her thoughts. "...Hayato's older than Keito by half a minute."

Suzuki looked over at her. "You're poor soul."

Hikaru shrugged. "Eh, it was fine. It was until Hanako was ready did she make big deal out of it."

Haruhi glared at her husband. "If you were holding a baby, I'd hit you."

"I'm kidding babe. I show off my scared hand proudly."

"...You're not scarred. My stretch-marks however-"

"Are pretty sexy so-"

"Yeah, lets not."

Hikaru snickered, shifting slightly to lean down and kiss the side of her head. He turned back to his brother, loosing all humor and being completely serious. "I'm baby-sitter."

Kaoru rolled his eyes. "Wouldn't dream on it being any other way."

"...And god father."

"Oh really? I was actually thinking Tono might-"

Hikaru glared at Tamaki. "...Yeah, no."

Tamaki pouted. "I'm Kyouya's future kids god father anyway, so I don't care."

Kyouya looked over at him. "When was that decided?"

Tamaki shrugged, pulling Kana closer. "...Just now. I didn't think you'd have a problem with it."

"My older brother-"

"You're Asami's god father, I sighed the papers!"

"I never agreed to-"

"What's done is done, Kyouya."

"Wouldn't I have to agree to this to a lawyer?"

"...I'm rich. I can avoid certain things."

"...Bastard."

"Kyouya, shush Not in front of the babies!"

The whole room shushed them.

While Tamaki wasn't watching Huni slipped into Ayame's seat once she moved and managed to take Kana out of his arms without him noticing, and took her to the other side of the room where he could hold her in peace.

Tamaki looked down at his hands and gasped, looking around him, wondering if he had dropped her.

Suzuki sighed, snuggling closer into husband's arms. Kaoru looked down at her and scooted away from his brother to pull her closer. Hikaru looked away from the baby he held and looked over at them two.

He looked back at the baby, then towards the baby Huni held. His lips got tighter then longer he looked at them. He looked back at his brother one more time, but his attention was averted to his newly wedded wife and was too busy whispering something quiet into her ear.

Hikaru pouted and held Yuki tighter, in seek of comfort of the sudden heart wrenching thought that he finally came into realization with.

...His brother wasn't his anymore.

He looked over at Haruhi who was leaning against him slightly as she sat in her chair next to him, and he felt a little better.

Because he wasn't his brother's anymore either.

One months later ~

"Are you finished yet? Honestly Haru, you sure do know how to make a guy wait."

"I'm trying to decide which outfit would be the most comfy."

"...Does it matter?"

"Well it's a plane-"

"Jet."

"Jet, plane, helicopter, what's the difference? I just want to be comfortable."

Hikaru leaned against the doorframe of their bedroom and looked over at his wife who was standing at the foot of their large bed, fiddling through her clothes that were already inside her suitcase. She looked deep in thought.

She turned to look at him. Her arms folded and her finger against her chin. "...Why are you wearing that?"

He raised his brow. Standing there in a pair of jeans and a hoodie. "...Even professionals like to be comfortable on long plane rides."

"It's a jet."

He laughed. "That it is."

She frowned turning back around. "Jeans aren't comfortable..."

"...I could make you wear latex."

Haruhi took a deep breath. Un-zipping her hoodie, she thought about it some more before zipping it back up. "...I think I'll just wear this."

He nodded, smirking as he watched her zip her bag back up. "We're leaving for two weeks tops. You'll have plenty of time to wear all your sweatpants. If you want, you can go naked. I won't mind."

She looked at him, straining to pick up her bag. "The kids will be there, I think they'll mind."

"Eh, we'll sit in the back."

She rolled her eyes, winching slightly, but before she could walk any further, he came up to her and took it from her. he kissed the top of her nose and turned around.

"Crap, kids, right... almost forgot."

She turned around, grumbling. "You forgot to wake them up?"

"Well, I was to busy trying to remember to wake them up, to wake them up. I forgot."

She sighed, patting his chest. "They need to get ready. We're going to be late."

"That's the thing about being rich. You never have a schedule on your down time. And a private jet, darling. It's impossible for us to be late."

"Well still, I-"

"Guess what?"

"...What?"

"The jet's new."

She shorted. "Goody."

"It's got a chocolate fountain."

"...Uh huh."

"And strawberries."

She looked at him, her brow furrowed in suspicion. "You aren't planning on us traveling on a different jet than the kids are you? It's a family vacation, not a romantic getaway."

"...That's okay, we don't have to explain to the kids why mommy is eating strawberries out of daddy's mouth. It'll be fine."

He laughed again at her weird expression and wrapped his arm around her waist. He kissed the side of her neck and breathed in her scent, that smelt like strawberries, that was spiced by her perfume. He was about to say something but three heads popped up out of nowhere and three sets of eyes looked at them from around the corner of the door.

"Daddy." Hanako whined. "Can we go yet?"

Hayato glared "What does a chocolate fountain do? Can we eat out of it?"

Hikaru looked at them and lifted his head off his wife's shoulder. "Yes, and yes...

Haruhi nodded. "But if you do, you have to go easy on the basket of candy in the back of the plane."

Keito raised his brow. "But we're rich, we can have whatever we want."

Hikaru nodded back. "That's right."

Before Haruhi could protest, the kids ran away to get their backpacks they packs a week early. She sighed and leaned into her husband's side. "You spoil them."

He winked. "I'd spoil my wife too if she'd let me."

She sighed even heavier this time but didn't argue. "...Are you ready?"

Grinning, Hikaru grabbed her hand. "Want me to carry you to the plane, Mrs. Hitachiin?"

"I'll pass."

"...Spoilsport."

Well there it is! The very last chapter! It's taken longer than a year, and is well over two hundred thousand words, but I'm finally finished. I was really stressing out over this chapter, trying to make it perfect. It isn't what I planned on it being, but I deleted it and re-wrote it a couple of times, and this is what become of it.

Velvetist should be posted soon. There's art of everyone's children on my Deviantart account. The link to that is on my profile on FanFiction, if anyone is interested. Nothing will be posted though until I get the first chapter of the sequel out.

Thank you so much for all the support I've received for this story. It's gone on for so long, and I know that there's a couple mistakes, but most of you have been nice enough not to point them out, and others have been helpful to tell me what those mistakes were very gently and ever so graciously told me how to fix them, and offered me themselves to be my bĂȘte readers. I thank you all so much for that.

I hope you enjoyed this as much as you've all said you have, and thank you all again. See you all in the sequel 'Velvetist' ~!
