Just a one shot, R&R I'd love to hear what you think.

Hes falling, the cold slowly seeping in through all the cracks. His eyes ease closed. The last thing he sees isn't the sunlight, a cloud, a bird, or that dopey smile he could see a million times and never grow tired of. No, the last thing he sees is fire, death, and a failed call. That's ok, because it's over now, the war is over, and it may have come at a cost, but he's given the world some kind of peace and now he can know it himself.

"You may not be a threat, but you need to stop pretending to be a hero."

He can't feel the wind whirling around him, but he knows its there, he knows there's nothing to stop him from crashing, and he couldn't be happier. He's proven all he needs to.

"Big man in a suit of armor, take that away and what are you."

He's fallen out of love, in love, and now he's falling for the final time. The round light flickers a few times before it dims, the blue is gone and replaced by black.

"Genius, Billionaire, playboy, Philanthropist." ―yours.

No one can hurt him now, the ache in his heart is no longer there, and everything's okay, he may not be breathing, but the world will go on thanks to him, the sun will shine, kids will be born, and hopefully the world can start to be a better place.

"Stark, you know that's a one way trip."

His eyelids snap open, the pupils so wide they almost swallow the coffee colored irises, there's a desperate gasp for air and hi lungs inflate with it, beginning to work again, a bright royal blue light replaces the black circle in his chest, and a soft pair of lips are unexpectedly on his. He can taste the copper tinge of blood mixed with mint and something else, something right. Another's tongue slips into his mouth and he's returning the kiss like it's his last.

In truth, it's the first kiss of many.

"Please tell me you just kissed me." He breathes out, his voice coarse and yet still light. The man who in fact, did kiss him, just smiles that same smile he can't get enough of.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" Amusement is in his tone, leaking into his bright sapphire eyes. He love's that about him. Steve is so damn honest about everything he does that even the man's eyes show what he's feeling.

"Actually, I'm a genius and it is in my― mph!" The rest of his retort is smothered by a kiss and he's falling all over again, warmth quickly seeping through the cracks, healing them all as his eyes flutter closed. The first thing he sees upon reopening them are eyes like a cerulean lake, a smile promising life, and a successful relationship picking up.

"We won." The blond grins, "We won..." Steve says again.

He now knows peace, a kind that doesn't involve coffins or a room full of crying exes, and as he lay his head back against the pavement, he can't help the smile that graces his lips.

We won.
