Ripped Jeans

She was always the quiet one who liked to keep to herself. He was the twin who was loud, confident and too much like his great-great-grandfather. No one would think them a perfect match, but the moment he laid eyes on her he thought her the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

She didn't believe him; not when he approached her with ripped jeans and a t-shirt much too Muggle-like for a pureblood. Girls fawned over him inside and outside of the Hufflepuff common room. And she was just a plain, ordinary, not-so-attractive girl.

"Hey, Luce."

"Lysander…."

"Wanna go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend? As a date, I mean?"

He was forward – he always had been. Something about there being no point in beating around the tree.

"Um…."

"Say yes… please?"

She noticed something new in him – an odd emotion… fear… that she might say no? It was enough to make her smile and, for once, like the ripped jeans and his terrible Muggle-style choice.

"Okay," she said. "I'd love to."

And to her surprise, he kisses her… right on the mouth and in front of everyone. She surprisingly liked it.

A lot.

I actually have a lot of head canon for Lucy and Lysander and I could ramble on forever about them and write a lot about them. Which I will. This was a struggle to keep to 200 words, so now that I've had a taste, I will write more!
