The boat rocks from each wave as the young hero sails the Great Sea. Link feels the water constantly splashing on his face, but the boy does not mind it. In fact, it's exhilarating. It cools his skin from the sun's hot rays, refreshing him and heightening his senses.
He especially has fun when he makes the boat jump.
During his trip to Windfall Island, Link entertains himself by lifting his ride over floating barrels—most, peculiarly, carrying rupees on their sides, which the boy always attempts to grab. And even when there are no barrels, he enjoys jumping over waves, particularly large ones.
This was very odd to the King of Red Lions.
Since Ganondorf's return, the world's fate has been placed in jeopardy. Yet here is Link, goofing off like there is no immediate danger. And perhaps there isn't, not for now.
But the king still feels anxious. Time may not be on their side, so he wants to hurry on their journey. Ganondorf is not one to underestimate. He has learned this the hard way...
The King of Red Lions no longer wishes to delay the trip to their next destination of their quest. The temptation to question Link of his antics rises in him with each passing moment.
He thinks such actions are ridiculous, unnecessary, silly...
Ah, but of course...
He reminds himself that he is still a child; a boy who is forced to go on a journey to save his beloved little sister, one that must battle hundreds of monsters along the way.
For a moment, the King of Red Lions feels a pang of guilt. Link, if he survives, will never be the same. Memories of his struggles and hardships will forever be implanted in his mind. He will live on with battle scars, constant reminders of what he had gone through.
And it was he, the spirit of a king that mourned over his sunken kingdom, who persuaded and convinced this child to go through such a dangerous journey.
Would Link ever have the chance to live as a normal kid again?
Another regret, the king suffers. One of many.
So for now, he lets the boy have his fun.
