Chapter 23

Percy POV

Four days had past since our meeting on Olympus and truth be told it had been the best four days of my life. My family was back together, on the second day Silver and Phoebe got married shocking just about everyone that Artemis let one of her hunters marry but we didn't care. On the the third day Leto showed up leading a parade of minor gods and Titans, it actually looked kinda funny watching them go up the elevator 8 at a time. I couldn't express enough how proud I was of Silver at that moment.

In the three thousand years I was gone he had been helping people. Most of the gods and titans that had come to our aid were among them. They had been close to fading and Silver gave them a purpose again having them form councils to rule over the other countries that were outside the Olympians had little to no influence and cause the world wide technological boom after the dark ages as a result.

The fourth day was spent just strategizing. Silver already knew the location of Tartarus' army because Oceanus thankfully seemed to remained unaware of Silver domain over the wilds where he was hiding. His camp was located near the sea; Me, Artemis, and Ares were going to lead the main assault of demigods, demititans, gods, and titans parallel to the sea. Hades would attack from the opposite side with his army of the undead. My father would attack from the side opposite the sea with the part his army that could fight on land. Zeus and the wind gods/titans/spirits would attack from the air and together we would attempt to drive them into the sea where the remainder of my fathers army and the ancient sea creatures would be waiting.

Silver being a primordial, even if he was the weakest, and the only one who could possible fight Typhon on equal footing was tasked with holding him back till the others could. In theory it was a sound plan but we were outnumbered badly and Typhon himself was only a stones throw away from being classified as a primordial class being himself.

From where I knelt in the dirt at the vanguard of my men I heard a defining crack of thunder. That was the signal, Silver had engaged Typhon, "For Earth" I shouted as I began my charge. Behind me the others took up the cry, as we ran free of the fog cover my father had summoned.

From my vantage point on the only hill in the region I could see the other two halfs of our army collide with Oceanus army. The last stragglers of our army cleared the fog far too soon, I knew we would have it rough but Oceanus' army was far larger than we had anticipated maybe six times as big as our own.

The ground shook from Silver and Typhon's battle, I still couldn't get used to how big he was. If this was a more relaxed setting I might have made a joke to Artemis about Silver growing up. We crashed into the enemy army and…stopped, we just stopped. We were better trained, at full power, and had them surrounded…but there was just so many. They were dropping like flies but for every one we cut down three more to it's place. This battle was testament to the ongoing debate of skill vs numbers.

Silver POV

I ducked a clawed hand from Typhon and caught him across the arm with my only causing a slight cut in his tough hide. How my grandfather managed to pierce it with his trident I'll never know. I threw my weight into a full body jab with my staff forming a spear out of the water in the air. Typhon froze in surprise apparently not used to fighting someone with equal power, he was dead and we both knew it.

A dirt hand shot up from the ground and grabbed the staff just below the spear head. "Not today child!" Gaea shouted as she emerged from the ground, her hair was slick with oil, her eyes a revolting shade of brown. My only thoughts were 'scrap'. In that instant my battle became one sided. These two were had been learning to control their power for centuries before I was even born. Right now it was taking everything I had just to stay alive. Typhon's claws raked my arm making deep gashes, I batted him back with my staff and a wild swing behind me unsure of where Gaea was.

Out of sheer luck I caught Gaea in the arm, the cut healed almost instantly but I noticed a violet aura catching up afterwards like a second wound. Before I even had a chance to use this information the ground started to quake. Outside our ring of troops a hole appeared in the ground and a figure that seemed to draw me to him like he had his own gravitational field clawed his way out.

With a start I realized it was Tartarus. Gaea and Tartarus had made a hole straight into the pit itself. As he freed himself a perpetual sea of monsters erupted from the hole. Tartarus laughed at my expression "foolish boy" He said letting his aura was over us "we knew all along of your connection to the wild. We may not have learned your other domains but that was all we needed. I could have risen days ago but I thought it better to gather you all in one place then to have to drag you kicking and screaming from your hiding places. In that one moment I came up with what may have been the craziest idea I ever had and I went for it.

Percy POV

The entire battlefield stopped for a moment as Tartarus emerged and I paled as I learned how we'd all been played. Silver broke free from his shock first and tackled Gaea injecting his own energy into her. Typhon dug his claws into my sons back a flung off Gaea but it was too late. Whatever Silver was planning worked because Gaea fell to the ground and exploded. "Mother!" Typhon cried "you killed my Mother you worthless piece of trash". Typhon dragged an exhausted Silver to his feet and held him in place for Tartarus.

The god of the pit summoned a spear and prepared to throw it like a javelin. Where she fell Gaea began picking herself up, "Mother" Typhon said hesitantly, she looked different this time her hair was a lustrous brown like freshly tilled soil and her eye were as green as the leaves on the trees. "You!" she growled murderously "you used me you monster". In a single bound Gaea tackled Tartarus "You turned me against my husband, you corrupted me to help make the Giants, you sent me on my own grandchildren" each statement was occupied with a blow to Tartarus' face.

Silver having apparently found his second wind broke free from Typhons hold and stabbed him in the throat, in the exact same spot father had with his trident, killing the storm giant then flashed away. I charged after his energy signature cutting a path through the enemy, in seconds I found him talking to the fates. The ground shook as Tartarus threw Gaea off and began beating her "I don't care if it's foolish just tell me if it will work" Silver shouted over the rumbling.

"Yes it will work but think about what you're risking" Clotho said. "I'm risking even more if I don't" Silver said, he turned to leave but I stopped him. "What are you doing" I asked. "I'm going to combine my power with Tartarus'. His derives his power from Corruption and mine is derived Purity our powers will cancel each other out".

"And the loser of this battle will fade having no energy left to sustain them" the Fates added. "There's no way you're doing this" I shouted. "It's the only way" Silver replied "even if I lose Tartarus should be weak enough for the big three alone to defeat". Silver was right even if this was a suicide mission "Fine give me the energy I'll do it". "No" the Fates said "the energy will change to match your domains. As the god of purity it needs to be Silver". I placed my hands on Silver's shoulders "fine then take my energy too" I said. "Dad stop you'll fade if you do any more" he said after a few minutes. "I don't care if only one of us is walk out of here it's going to be you" I said "tell your mother I love her".

Third Person POV

"Where's all your power Gaea" Tartarus taunted shoving her to the ground. Gaea just smiled back "I gave it all away" and disintegrated back into the earth. Tartarus looked up just in time to see a glowing Silver flying at him. Tartarus raised his hand to deflect him but found himself chain by a golden energy "You will pay for what you've done dear uncle" and Silver slammed into his chest. Tartarus' form cracked and burned, both Silver and Tartarus screamed in agony before Tartarus exploded. A violet light shot into the sky and Silver fell to the ground.

Before the primordial army even had a chance to move a wave of dirt wiped them into the hole to Tartarus which then closed. On the battlefield the gods gathered around a barely conscious Silver and Percy. "What's wrong with them" Artemis asked/shouted "their freezing". "Their fading" the Fates said "they used up all their energy doing the same to Tartarus". "Can't you do any thing" Artemis cried. "I'm sorry my grand daughter" Gaea said forming from the ground "once the process starts there's nothing we can do". Phoebe and Artemis latched onto their respective husbands and cried "This isn't fair we just got back, you can't leave us again" Phoebe said.

"Don't worry you'll always have a piece of the with you" Gaea said. "What do you mean" Phoebe asked. "I think she means we'll always have them in our hearts" Artemis said. "Actually I was referring to your children" Gaea said "you're pregnant both of you". "I'm going to be a father" Silver weased. "Yes Silver I just wish you could be here to see our child" Phoebe said. "Well I for one plan on having both of the stick around" a man said appearing out of no where, no flash, no sound, no converging of shadows he just appeared. Gaea's eyes widened "Grandfather Chaos" she said in fear.

"There there child I'm not here to harm you, I'm actually here to give Perseus his reward" he said kneeling next to him. "You see long ago I promised that if anyone ever completely conquered their own corruption I'd give them a place on my council. Now seeing as you're running low on energy how about I give you my daughters power." and with that he shoved a six foot ball of light into Percy. "Say hello to Perseus Primordial god of heroes, storms, and destiny" he said. "Now for you Silver, never before has anyone ever held the domain of Purity. I myself never thought anyone would ever prove worth of it, but you surprised me with your kindness and for that I have a gift for you."

Chaos reach his hands up to the sky and summoned back the violet ball of light that represented Tartarus' domain. "I do believe as the the Primordial god Purity, Justice, Redemption, Hope, and the Wild; you should be able to turn this into a proper prison for the wicked and not a place where they come to heal".

Behind him someone shouted "Kronos!" causing everyone ones heads to snap in that direction. Sure enough there stood Kronos his body now fully healed "relax" Chaos said "He's decided to fade and has made a deal with me to have himself fade sooner in exchange for some last words with his six children. So please lets have the come forward now". Hesitantly they all stepped forward. Kronos took a deep breath and spoke "First off I am truly sorry for everything I have done. I feared my father Uranus' prophecy so much I believed Tartarus when he said you were raising an army against me and I ask your forgiveness for the pain I caused in the Titan wars".

Kronos took a step in front of Hades "My eldest son so wise and proud, you seek power but all you really wish is to be accepted by your family, my last advice to you is give up your hate and the rest will come".

Kronos took a step in front of Zeus "My youngest child, you seek power not for yourself as others believe but to protect your family, never forget that reason like I did".

Kronos took a step in front of Poseidon "My second oldest son you hold a level of loyalty that I wish I had myself, never lose that for it is your greatest gift.

Kronos took a step in front of Hera "my youngest daughter you seek to make a perfect family yet you fail to see you already have one, their squabbles and differences are what make them so, they look to you as their mother by either blood or marriage for guidance. I pray you will remember that".

Kronos took a step in front of Demeter "Demeter, always fussing over you siblings health both mental and physical, I pray you never lose this trait but I don't think I'll ever understand how it turned into your obsession with cereal".

Kronos took a step in front of Hestia "My oldest daughter you have a resilient and compassionate heart, no matter how bleak things may seem you always have and bring that hope to others. You shy away from violence and promote peace and for that reason I've decided to give you my domain over time".

The Fates stepping and performed the transfer "goodbye my children my only regret is that I wasn't the father I had always wanted to be" Kronos. Hestia hugged Kronos which actually made a cute scene with her in her 8 year old form. "I'm ready Lord Chaos" Kronos said. "Yes I do believe you are, but you won't be fading to day, no after what I've seen I do believe you've prove your good will and I myself am missing a lord of time on my council. The jobs yours if you want it. You'd be able to stay here and make amends with you family". "I accept" Kronos said. "Congrats my great grandson you just became the new Primordial of time" Chaos said fading into the shadows "I'll have Gaea inform you when the next council meeting it for now enjoy yourselves".

Everyone just stood there in stunned silence till Silver spoke up "Soooo party on Olympus?"

THE END
