Chapter 66:
A Dream Come True

...

"Friends, Family...We have gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, to give recognition to the worth and beauty of committed marital love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite this man and this Koopa together in happy matrimony."

Today was the day...

The day they have been thinking of...

The day they have been talking about...

The day they have been planning for months...

Yes, today was the day they finally tying the knot of marriage.

In front of the wedding chapel where a group of close friends and family was watching them, stood the soon-to-be married couple themselves. The Groom, Luigi, was dress in his finest tuxedo suit, his hair was combed neatly and an ever present smile on his face. The Bride, Wendy, had the most beautiful white gown, a bouquet of flowers in her hands and an ever present smile on her face as well.

To the right of the couple were the Groomsmen. It wasn't a surprise that Mario was picked as the best man, now dress in black just like his slightly younger brother. The next groomsman in line was Roy, followed by Yoshi and Toad, all of which were dressed in their suits.

Sitting on the first right side of the room were the rest of Luigi's friends; Princess Peach, Toadsworth, baby newborn 'K.T.', Princess Daisy, Waluigi, and Toadette. Peach had an engagement ring of her own. Not too long after Luigi proposed, Mario thought it was about time he stepped up himself. He brought Peach the ring and the two were set for their own wedding in another few months.

Place in front of Peach and Toadsworth was a baby carriage. Inside the carriage Roy's and Kassie's newborn daughter, Kayla Tracie Koopa (or K.T. for short) watched the wedding in curious wonder. During her pregnancy, Kastoadra had gotten too big for comfort so the doctor had performed an emergency C-section. Needless to say, it was a huge success. Little K.T. resembled much like her mother, only larger than any normal toad baby with her father's tan but not yellow skin, blue eyes, and slightly curved lips.

As for Daisy and Waluigi, the two have been dating for several months now. Their relationship was developing in a slow yet steady pace. Waluigi was willing to do anything to win Daisy's heart, and that includes putting an end to his fierce hatred towards Luigi. They were still rivals, but on a more friendly terms.

Now, to the left of the couple were the Bridesmaids. The maid of honor, a role Wendy was saving for her best friend, was given to Kastoadra. The first time mother toad grew excited when the position was offered to her and happily accepted it. Standing behind Kastoadra were Koren, Kohana, and Goombaline, proving once again to be Wendy's true friends. All four of them were wearing the gown Wendy had picked out for them; a light blue dress with a fainted pink ribbon tied to the back.

Sitting on the left side of the room was surprisingly Bowser and the rest of the Koopalings as well as Kamek and Kammy. The Koopa King was still pretty upset about the whole thing. But thanks to a certain man in red, he managed to strike a deal with the large koopa. Neither Wendy nor Luigi knew how he did it, but they gratefully thank him ever the less.

On a side note, if one were to look closely, they'll be able to see the engagement ring place on Kanary's finger. In addition to that, Iggy's mystery online pen pal, and new girlfriend, is revealed to be Princess Hali; one of the four princesses of the Kappa Kingdom. They've been dating for some time now and so far everything has been going great.

Anyways, back to the wedding...

"The commitment that the two of you are about to make is the most important commitment that two people can make." said the marriage officiator. He was an old Toad, about the same age as Toadsworth, with bushy eyebrows and everything.

"You are about to create something new, the marriage relationship – an entity that never ends. As you stand here today, are you now prepared to begin this commitment to one another?"

"I am," Both the bride and groom said together.

"Have you come here freely and without reservation to give yourselves to each other in marriage?"

"I have," They said once more.

"Luigi and Wendy...I would ask that you both remember to treat yourself and each other with dignity and respect; to remind yourself often of what brought you together today. Give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your marriage deserves.

"When frustration and difficulty assail your marriage – as these do to every relationship at one time or another – focus on what still seems right between you, not only the part that seems wrong. This way, when clouds of trouble hide the sun in your lives and you lose sight of it for a moment, you can remember that the sun is still there. And if each of you will take responsibility the quality of your life together, it will be mark by abundance and delight."

The officiator turned to the plumber.

"Do you, Luigi, take Wendy to be your lawfully wedded wife? Will you love and comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her until the day your game ends?"

"I do," Luigi said happily.

The minister nodded and turns his attention to the Koopa bride, repeating the vows.

"Do you, Wendy, take Luigi to be your lawfully wedded husband? Will you love and comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him until the day your game ends?"

"I do," Wendy said excitedly.

"You may exchange the rings."

Luigi turned to his best man while Wendy turned to her maid of honor. They both gave them two matching silver rings, custom made to go with Wendy's engagement ring. The two thanks them and turn back to each other.

"Since it is your intention to enter into marriage, join your right hands, and declare your consent before these witnesses by repeating after me..."

Luigi was the first one up. "I, Luigi, take you Wendy, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live."

Gently, he slips the ring onto Wendy's finger. It was already sized so it fitted perfectly. "Wendy, take this ring as a sign of my commitment and fidelity to you."

Wendy smiled. Now it was her turn. "I, Wendy, take you Luigi, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live."

She places the ring on his finger which again was a perfect fit. "Luigi, take this ring as a sign of my commitment and fidelity to you."

Now that their vows were said and their rings were on, they held onto each other's hands and locked their eyes together as the marriage officiator said the words that will make it all final.

"Luigi and Wendy...in so much as the two of you have agreed to live in matrimony, have promised your commitment to each other by these vows, the joining of your hands, and the giving of these rings... By the power invested in me by Grambi, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Congratulations, you may kiss the bride."

The newlyweds lean forward and capture themselves in their official kiss as the whole room explode with applaud of good wishes. Things were looking bright for Luigi and Wendy. They have face through hardships that only made their stronger.

What awaits them in the future is unknown... For as long as they have each other, their dreams will always come true.

Ending Note:

I hope this chapter wrapped everything up in a nice package. Since the last chapter, I could not get the idea of a wedding out of my head, or the name of the baby Kastoadra and Roy were having. So to put my thoughts to rest, I decide to write one very last chapter.

...

I hope you all enjoyed the "Dating the Enemy". Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
