Chapter 15: Epilogue

Ten years had passed since Yami and Yuugi had made up. Juudai was fifteen now. Filled with excitement, he skipped to the kitchen, clutching his phone to his chest. "Mom! He feels the same! We're going on a date!" He shouted happily. Yuugi turned around from the stove, a happy smile on his face.

"I told you he did. Now if only you would listen to your mother every now and then." Yuugi said with a mocking sigh. Juudai stuck out his tongue at Yuugi and sat at their dinner table. Yuugi rolled his eyes and returned back to the stove where he was cooking dinner. Juudai started rapidly typing away on his phone as the third person walked in.

"I'm home." He said quietly. Yuugi turned around once again and smiled. It was a young man, taller than Yuugi and Juudai. He was slim but quite muscled. He wore the dark blue jacket with a black shirt underneath that had red markings, and simple jeans. He took off his jacket as he sat down at the kitchen table and took out some books from his bags. He set them on the table and started doing his homework.

"Welcome home Yuusei." Yuugi greeted back with a kind smile. Yuugi and Yami had adopted him at the age of twelve. He had become homeless after his father had pretty much blown up their house during one of his scientific experiments. Seeing it a hazard to Yuusei's safety, they took him away from his father and put him with a foster family. Yuusei wasn't happy and ran away, stole a car and was arrested for joyriding.

He was sent to the juvy in Domino for car theft and joyriding. After two years he was out on parole and that's when Yami and Yuugi adopted him. He wasn't too happy at first to be in a new home again, but soon he found out that the two were really nice to him and really only wanted best for him. They were even helping him make his dream come true of being a mechanic. Motorcycles had been a dream of him ever since he was very little. His father had wanted him to become a scientist like him, so he had almost let go of his dream.

It didn't really go too subtle with Yuugi though. Yuugi had vehemently been against the idea of Yuusei ever being near motorcycles. He found them too dangerous since there were a lot of motorcycle related injuries coming in at the hospital. Yuusei was pretty much planning his departure but soon dropped it as Yami was on his side. The man talked Yuugi into letting Yuusei live his dream, finally Yuugi agreed. All it took was one hot make out session. He was allowed to study mechanics and even got a motorcycle for his sixteenth birthday!

Yuusei, being eighteen now, felt really at home in the Sennen household. Even more so than with his biological father. He was very smart and very serious with his studies, not wanting Yami to have wasted all the college tuition money, the books and supplies. Seeing the books, Yuugi looked at Juudai. "Have you finished your homework?" He asked the brunet who was busy with his smartphone.

"Yep." He answered without looking up.

"Liar liar pants on fire." Yuugi replied.

Juudai sighed and put his phone down. "Fine." He put his phone down and went to his room to grab his bag and do his homework. A serenity washed over them as the two boys did their homework in silence while Yuugi cooked dinner. As everything was cooking, Yuugi sat down at the table to look at the boys.

Yuusei was doing his engineering homework while Juudai was struggling with his math homework. Yuugi chuckled at the concentrated and annoyed face of the brunet teen. Noticing the laugh was directed at him, he pouted and threw his eraser at Yuugi. "Don't laugh at me!" He groaned as he reached for his eraser to correct a mistake.

"I can't help it, your face is so funny when you think!" Yuugi laughed. Juudai groaned and grabbed his hair, giving up on it completely.

"I'll just say Astral ate it." He murmured as he stuffed all his belongings back into his bag.

Yuugi just shrugged his shoulders. "I won't bail you out if you get in trouble again." He warned.

"Meh, I'll take the risk." Juudai said nonchalantly. He picked up his phone and started tapping at the touch screen again.

Yuugi rolled his eyes. "Ugh. My stupid mom made me do my homework again. Can you believe it? He wants me to have a future." Yuugi narrated with a mocking annoying voice.

"I'm not writing that!" Juudai retorted.

"Then what are you?" Yuugi asked slyly.

"I'm writing–" He paused, looking at Yuugi. "You're trying to set me up! I'm not telling what I'm writing!" He hid his phone from view as he said this.

"Worth a shot." Yuugi laughed, earning a chuckle from Yuusei. Their attention went from Juudai's phone, much to his relief, to the pitter-patter of feet. A little boy, eight years old with black and pink hair ran into the room. The base of his hair was black with two pink, antenna-like locks standing upright. He had red eyes and was looking really excited.

"Mommy, mommy!" He shouted as he jumped up and down. "I made a drawing!" He said excitedly holding the sheet of paper up. Yuugi picked him up and shushed him.

"Not so loud sweetie, we don't want to wake up Yuuya." The child gasped and clasped his hands in front of his mouth.

"I'm sorry!" He whispered, earning a laugh from Yuugi.

"You can talk just normally." He said. "So let's see what you got." He said and laid the sheet of paper flat on the table. It was a drawing of six people. First there was Yami and he had angry looking eyes with a smile. Yuugi had sweet eyes with large eyelashes and was smiling too. Juudai had his eyes tightly closed and had a demonic smile. Yuusei looked a little bland with a straight face and a line for mouth. Yuugi was also holding a baby wrapped in a blue blanket. Yuma had also drawn himself. He was smiling and holding hands with a blue creature. He didn't wear clothes but didn't have any genitals either. It had green markings all over its body. One of the eyes was golden while the other one was white. It had hair that was the same color of his skin, which curled up in three spikes in a Mohawk-like fashion. His name was Astral.

Astral was the reason Yuma had joined the family. The orphanage found it very unsettling that at the age of six Yuma still had an imaginary friend. Especially since he described him so clearly and detailed. It freaked out many of the children and Yuma was quickly seen as unwanted. The director of the orphanage had quickly called Yami and asked him if he and Yuugi wanted to take Yuma in. Of course, they had agreed.

"What a beautiful picture." Yuugi said with a smile. He kissed Yuma's forehead and petted the hair of the child. "I'm going to hang up on the fridge." He stood up and hung it up with one of the magnets. Their fridge was full with drawings and report cards. After hanging it up, Yuugi started tending to the food so it wouldn't overcook, or worse, burn.

Yuma had taken place at the table where Yuugi just sat and started drawing again on a blank sheet of paper. He would often say something to Astral. The family had easily learned to cope with it. They would often join the conversation with Yuma acting as an interpreter.

The front door opening alerted them to a newcomer. Yuugi looked at the clock that was softly ticking and smiled brightly. His favorite time of the day. "Good evening, family." Yami greeted as he entered the kitchen. A chorus of greeting was thrown back at him. Yami dropped his suitcase by the door and made a beeline to Yuugi. He wrapped his right arm around Yuugi's middle and held his left hand with his own left hand. The golden bands around their ring finger glimmered under the light of the kitchen. Yami placed his lips unto Yuugi's. It was short, soft and sweet. This had become a ritual for them.

"Gaaaaay!" Yami turned his head and glared at Juudai. Yuugi looked smug.

"Says the guy who's going on a date with another man." He shot back, putting emphasis on the words 'date' and 'man' . Yami looked interested, while Juudai looked both betrayed and impressed.

"Wow, wow, wow. Date? Why do I not know about this?" Yami questioned while looking between Yuugi and Juudai.

"Cause I only told mom?" Juudai tried. Yami's mouth just hung open.

"And to think he broke us up for hanging out too much." Yami muttered.

"Are you still going on about that?" Juudai groaned. "I told you I was sorry!"

"I won't let you live it down until I'm dead. So tell me, who is this man you're dating?" Yami asked with interest.

"Not telling." Juudai said stubbornly.

"It's Johan."

"Yuusei!"

Yuugi and Yami both laughed. Yuusei gave a chuckle of his own. "Just joining in on the fun."

"You are so horrible." He moaned and hid his face in his arms. Feeling some movements near him, he decides to look up. Thank goodness he did. Yami was trying to snatch his phone. "Dad!" He screeched and grabbed his phone before Yami could get it.

"Damnit!" Yami hissed under his breath.

"Keep it down you two. You'll wake Yuuya up." Yuugi warned.

"Sorry Aibou." Yami apologized.

"Anyways, dinner is ready, could you clean the table and help me with the set the table?" He asked.

"Sure." Yuusei said and put his books away before standing up and setting the table with Yuugi. Yuma cleaned up his drawing supplies and put them back in his room. When he returned the table was set mostly. Juudai had refused to help since they teased him so much. The food was served and they ate silently for a little while.

"So… Johan huh? Kinda saw it coming." Yami commented.

"Will you shut up about it?" Juudai growled.

"Nope."

Juudai sighed, ignoring his dad.

"So. Whatcha doing?" He asked. Juudai didn't answer. "You know I can just call Ryou and ask him where the two of you are going. Or rather doing." A smile crept onto Yami's lips.

"We're not doing anything." Juudai retorted.

"Okay. Just remember, safety first."

"Dad!" Juudai was blushing like crazy. Yuusei burst out into laughter while Yuugi hid his chuckles behind his fist. Yuma just looked clueless, not getting what the funny thing was.

"Stahp." Juudai whined. Yuugi was the one to save his butt.

"Okay, okay. Let's tease Juudai some other time. How was your day, Yami?" Yuugi asked to change the subject. Juudai looked at Yuugi with a grateful smile. Yuugi shot him his 'you owe me' look back.

"It was okay… I miss my old position though." He said with a small sigh. "All I do now is oversee projects and fire people."

Yami had gotten a promotion after the huge successes of the games he worked on. While he insisted that Ryou should get the job instead since he was also working on most projects, Kaiba still appointed him as the new manager of the developing department. He had immediately made promoted Ryou as his assistant and co-manager. Ryou would just take over meetings and appointments he couldn't make. Or rather, didn't want to go to.

It did have a huge impact on his life though. If he didn't get the job, he wouldn't have been able to adopt Yuusei, Yuma and Yuuya. His new salary allowed him to get a bigger house, a car and funded school for the children.

"I'm sure you'll get used to it. Just cause you got the job doesn't mean you can't help the designers." Yuugi said.

"Yeah, guess that's true." Yami sighed. "So… Johan huh?"

"I'm done." Juudai said and pushed his plate away. Yuugi sighed.

"So am I." Yami said as he placed down his cutlery and stretched out. "I had a quick meal before leaving the office. I had expected to stay longer." He said as he slumped into his chair. "But then I blew off the meeting and fled home."

Yuugi pinched the bridge of his nose. Sometimes, he felt like the only adult in the house. "Thanks for the meal Aibou, it was great." He said before leaving the table.

"Me too mommy! I need to finish my drawing for Astral!" He said as he hopped down. He ran to his room the moment his feet touched the ground. The only ones left were Yuugi and Yuusei. Yuugi gave Yuusei a pleading look.

"Fine I'll help." He said with a smile. Yuugi returned the smile with one of his own.

"Thank you, you're the only one I can depend on!" He called extra loudly so the others would hear it too. Together they cleaned the table and did the dishes. Yuugi washed while Yuusei dried and placed it back. Just as Yuugi was about to hand Yuusei the last plate, a crash in the living room startled Yuugi so he dropped the plate to the floor and it crashed into a lot of pieces. After the ruckus, crying was heard in a few rooms away.

Ignoring the mess, Yuugi ran over the living room where the crash came from. In there, he found Yami lying on his back, his arm outstretched holding a phone. On top of Yami was Juudai, desperately trying to get the phone back but being held back by Yami's feet.

"What happened?!" Yuugi shrieked as he saw the mess they had made. The couch was overturned, everything that lay on the coffee table was scattered around the room and one potted plant had fallen from the windowsill and now lay spilled on the carpet.

"Dad stole my phone! " Juudai groaned, trying to leap forward but got kicked back by Yami's phone.

"This guy won't tell me anything anymore!" Yami complained.

Yuugi's hands were itching. He was about to lash out on them when the crying reached him. "Ugh! You guys woke up Yuuya!" He groaned and went into the room. The room was dark since the draped were hanging in front of the window. A dresser, a closet and a crib were in the room. Inside the crib lay a crying baby of seven months old.

"Come here sweetie… did your idiot father and brother wake you up?" He cooed as he picked the infant up. The crying stopped instantly but Yuugi knew the moment he laid the baby down into the crib, he would start crying. First he needed to be fast asleep.

This was also the reason Yuuya was with them. He was abandoned by his parents after his birth. His parents were traveling all the time and just didn't have time for a baby. The orphanage workers just couldn't get him to shut up and sleep. They were called again to see if they were willing to take the baby in. The moment Yuugi held the child; he stopped crying, to everyone's amazement.

So that's why they also took Yuuya in. Usually babies were the first ones to go from the orphanage but since Yuuya wouldn't stop crying, he became one of the 'trouble children' Yami and Yuugi adopted. He walked back to the living room where Yuusei also sat after finishing cleaning up the mess that was made.

"Where's Juudai?" Yuugi asked lightly rocking Yuuya.

"In his room getting ready for his date." Yami answered. He and Yuusei had cuddled up under a blanket and were watching TV. Yuugi joined them on the couch with Yuuya on his lap. The big red eyes of the little baby were wide open after the rude awakening. His red and green hair was disheveled from sleeping.

It was about twenty minutes later that Juudai emerged from his room. "How I look?" He asked as he made showed them his clothes. He was wearing a simple white dress shirt with a black vest over it and a pair of dark jeans. Yami hummed and rubbed his chin.

"Come here." He said as he beckoned Juudai over. A little suspicious, Juudai made his way over to his dad. Yami unbuttoned the first two buttons of the shirt and slightly ruffled Juudai's hair. "Perfect." He said as he looked at his work.

"Looks good." Yuusei commented. Yuugi nodded in agreement. Juudai smiled in appreciation. It soon turned into horror as the doorbell rang.

"He's here!" He shrieked and flailed his arms. Yuugi chuckled and stood up. He opened the front door.

"Oh, hey 'Mote. Come in."

"Thanks Yuugi." The Yuugi's little brother said as he stepped inside.

"Omote? Just you? Boring." Juudai said as he flopped down on the couch. Omote looked at Yuugi for an explanation.

"Date."

"Ah."

The doorbell rang again. "Why are you so nervous? You've known Johan since you were five. You two were, like, made for each other." Yami said, a little irked since they kept talking through his show. Juudai paused. He had forgotten this fact.

"Speaking about date… Yuugi I need to tell you something!" Omote said excitedly.

"Sure, let's talk in the kitchen." Yuugi said. The doorbell rang again. "But before that…." He walked to the door and opened it. Waiting on the other side was Johan. The boy had grown tall and was slightly muscular. He opened his mouth to say something but Yuugi beat him to it. "Look Johan, you are an amazing kid and I am completely okay that you're dating him. But, he is still my child. If you hurt him in any way, you won't be able to make babies. Ever." Yuugi gave him a smile before leaving.

Johan's pupils had become tiny and he was sweating and trembling. Juudai poked Johan, pulling him out of his stupor. "Ready to go?" He asked, completely calm now.

"Y-yes!" Johan said stiffly. Juudai shot him a look but grabbed his jacket and slipped on his shoes and the two were gone.

"So… what's the news?" Yuugi asked as he sat down at the table. He had put on some water to boil for tea.

"Well… I got a boyfriend." Omote announced.

"Really?! Where, how, who?" Yuugi asked. Omote laughed at his older brother's excitement.

"I met him at my high school, he protected me from some jerks and his name is Zero."

"Picture?" Yuugi asked.

Omote nodded and scrolled through his phone gallery. "Oh, this is a nice one." He handed the phone to Yuugi. Yuugi just started at it.

"Have you secretly been crushing on Yami all this time?" He finally asked after a silence. Omote chuckled, giving Yuugi a smirk.

"Maybe." He playfully stuck out his tongue, softly rocking Yuuya whom he had taken from Yuugi.

Yuugi went into the living room. "Yami, have you ever had an affair with Omote?" He asked.

Yami looked absolutely confused. "No… should I have?"

Yuugi shook his head and showed the picture of the boy to Yami. "Wow, he looks like your twin, Dad… only younger." Yuusei commented looking at the picture from over Yami's shoulder.

"Why thank you Yuusei." Yami grumbled. Yuusei shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, it's true."

Yuugi took the phone back and looked at it again. He, just like himself and Yami, had spiked hair in three colors. Black, yellow and red. Whereas Yuugi and Yami had golden locks and fuschia tips, this guy had bright red hair and bright yellow bangs. Still he looked incredibly similar to Yami, with piercing red eyes.

"Are you sure you don't have a biological kid?" He asked looking at his husband with suspicion.

Laughter came from the kitchen. Omote had also joined them in the living room. He had Yuuya back over to Yuugi and took his phone back. "Don't worry, he isn't related to Yami. He was born in America and recently moved here with his parents." Omote told. He too flopped onto the couch.

Yuugi chuckled at Omote. He looked at his family sitting in the living room. Yuma had moved his drawing supplies to the living room and was scribbling away at the coffee table. Yami and Yuusei were under the blanket, munching on popcorn while Omote was busying himself with his phone, most likely talking to Zero. Juudai was on his date and Yuuya was slowly drifting off. Their family was the definition of dysfunctional and chaotic.

But he wouldn't have it any other way.

Author Notes: My apologies this took so long to upload despite it sitting in my fanfiction folder for quite a while. A lot has happened, including my cat chewing through my laptop charger cable.

The thing is… I'm gonna take a little break from the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom and from writing fanfiction altogether. There is a small possibility that I might write for a different fandom but honestly I don't really see it happening. My depression has returned with a vengeance and the lack of sleep (courtesy of construction workers right outside my window) are doing nothing for my mood and motivation.

I apologize for this is the last you'll see from me for a little while. There is really no particular reason I'm leaving the YGO fandom for now. It's not like I'm leaving it… I will always love these butts and I am still a strong shipper just not a writer at the moment. Plus I have really gotten into Tales of Xillia and kind of want to focus on that. I will however, return to this fandom when I have new inspiration again and worked out a lot of the unwritten stories. Right now they're still just little ideas I need to work out.

So until then, bye bye!
