Chapter 1 – the secret

Hermione Granger POV

"September first cannot come fast enough" sighed the female member of the Golden Trio, lazily turning the page of her advanced potions book.

This summer, if anything, has been an uneventful one for Hermione. June and July seemed to pass in slow motion, but they seemed fun compared to the dreadful pace of the beginning of August The only thing she was genuinely looking forward to was going back to Hogwarts. And of course, seeing Harry and Ron.

"Hermione, dear, please come downstairs with me." Jean Granger said, standing at the entrance of Hermione's room, "It is urgent." she added.

"Okay, I'll be right there." Hermione placed her book on the bed and promptly followed her mother down the stairs, her brown curls bouncing behind her.

Once she reached the living room, Hermione found both of her parents standing awkwardly in the center of the room. Their eyes seemed to be looking through her, almost as if stuck in a trance.

"Mom, Dad, is everything okay?"

Frank Granger stepped forward, grabbed a hold of Hermione's arm, and began to lead her out the door while muttering, "Hermione Jean Granger, it is time. Come with me."

Out of nowhere, thunderstruck, and light started to shine out of Hermione, causing the Granger parents to wince in pain.

"Hermione Jean Granger, it is time. Come with me." JeanGranger said, a cold expression passing through his face.

"Why do you both keep saying that? Mom, what's wrong with you?" Hermione asked, beginning to panic at the sight of her parents, the expression on her face being one of extreme confusion.

The two adults continued to ignore Hermione, leading her out of the house and into the car. As if in auto pilot, Frank Granger sat in the driver's seat and proceeded to drive, not bothering to check for incoming cars. As he made his way through the streets of London, Frank sped through traffic, ignoring stop signs and red lights.

"Dad! Watch out!" Hermione reached over the back seat, grabbed a hold of the steering wheel, and moved the car out of harm's way as a red car sped right at them. Jean Granger pushed Hermione back.

"Please remain in your seat. We will be arriving shortly." Both Jean and Frank said simultaneously.

Hermione sat back and realized that her parents were both acting as if they were hypnotized or under some sort of spell. She began to rack her brain for any spell of curse that had to do mind control, but before she could come up with anything she realized her skin was glowing.

"What is happening to me?" Hermione screeched.

"You are in transition. All is well. We will be arriving Shortly." her parents responded, once again, simultaneously.

"Transition? What kind of- " she started to say but faltered as her skin began to glow even brighter.

Transition was a good word for what was happening to her, Hermione mused. She was, in fact, undergoing a transition, as her body was physically changing. Her hair was slowly losing its bushiness and was becoming straighter and darker. Her skin was becoming paler and her breasts fuller. Looking up at the retriever mirror, Hermione Granger could not recognize the green-eyes staring back at her through the reflection.

"Mom, Dad…" she managed to choke out, completely baffled by the change, "What is happening to me?"

This whole "my parents are not acting normal" situation was hard enough to handle without the whole "my body is changing, please help".

Frank Granger looked back, his glazed over eyes making contact with Hermione's green ones, and said "Your transition has been successfully completed."

He turned back to the road and continued to drive for around 5 more minutes before the car came to a sudden halt. Both adults then announced "Hermione Jean Granger, we have arrived."

Hermione looked out of the car's window and saw that the car had stopped in front of a huge manor. The two adults got out of the car and dashed to the gates with Hermione in tow. As they walked by the fence, Hermione caught a glimpse at the name engraved on the bars : 'Riddle'. The gates swung open and the family rushed inside.

Hermione soon found herself in a large sitting room, the walls a dark grey with countless beautifully dark murals. Distracted by her surroundings, Hermione failed to notice the dark figure making its way into the room.

"My Lord." She looked up to find her parents kneeling in front of

"Voldemort." Hermione spat.
