Familiarity
''Have you ever met someone for the first time, but in your heart you feel as if you met before?''
-Joanne Kendrick
If he was any other person Link would be annoyed. He had been kneeling in front of the throne for almost twenty minutes and any lesser man would have cracked by now. Link himself was having a hard time staying still in such an uncomfortable position. His nose had been itching for a while now and he had been watching the guards waiting for them to both to look away so he could itch it without being noticed.
Before he could continue on with his plans the opening of the door announced the arrival of the Princess. He immediately straightened his posture and bowed his head lower, not wanting to be disrespectful. He wasn't used to meeting royalty and he didn't want to make a fool of himself. His palms began to sweat as the soft footsteps of the Princess get closer and closer until they came to a halt in front of him.
He hadn't meant to look, he didn't really, but his curiosity got his curiosity got the better of him and before he knew it he was tilting his head up to get a quick peek. However, when his eyes found hers he found that he could not look away. Time seemed to stop as they gazed into each other's eyes. There was something about her that seemed so… familiar, like they had been like this before, just gazing into each other's eyes like they had known each other forever…
The shrill cry of the Chancellor brought him out of his reverie and reset the flow of time. His cheeks turned a bright shade of pink and his attention was turned back to the matter at hand.
The rest of the ceremony went well, except for the foreboding comment of the Chancellor. He carefully read the letter the Princess had slipped to him during the proceedings. He wondered what the Princess could possibly need him for, but he decided it was best not to keep the Princess waiting. To took a quick look at the map provided with the letter and set out on the path that would lead to his destiny, humming a lullaby that transcended the ages.
