Ashe looked up from their sketchpad, bits of paper, books, pencils, and an old quill surrounding them at their desk. A blue-lit envelope, the signal of an alert spell she had set long ago, sat floating over the corner of her desk.

A new chapter. Huh?

Ashe had watched over the months that turned into years as, despite the growing absence of themself and Nacht, reviews, favorites, follows, all kept coming in. Sometimes Ashe would think that they had stopped, that finally everyone had left, but then another "Story Favorite" or review would come in. And they read them all.

Slipping out of their chair, Ashe made their way down the stairs, out the door, and towards the old castle that they had spent so much time in.

Across the empty courtyards, the Great Hall frozen in time, the winding hallways, and staircases that they swore used to move. Up to the seventh floor corridor, at the Room of Requirement.

I need to get to the place where our notebook is hidden.

I need to get to the place where our notebook is hidden.

I need to get to the place where our notebook is hidden.

The wall did nothing, and Ashe thought that perhaps it was truly all over- they had been gone for too long. The magic wasn't there. But the door appeared, and Ashe whispered a quiet "thank you" as they walked through.

The room was the same as they remembered. The pillows everywhere that had been the weaponry in many a pillow fight between Nacht and them while writing. Nacht's hammock, a familiar sight. And the notebook. The notebook that let them document the crazy experiences happening around them, sitting on the table.

It was open, ink fresh on the pages.

Nacht had written a new chapter.

Ashe sat on a stack of pillows, reading through what Nacht had left. They knew that they had left readers, so many wonderful people, waiting for the next update that never came. And they were so sorry. Making up their mind, they picked up a quill, and began to write.

Hey guys, Ashe here. Wow. It's been two years. I swear I, we, never meant for that to happen. I can't compare to Nacht's update- holy cow, I'm blown away, and I've been reading her (incredible) writing for years. I know I can't make up the ages we've been gone, but I've talked to Nacht and, summer plans and IB testing permitting, we'll be starting up again.

I took Nacht by surprise a bit; I have email alerts, so I saw that a new chapter was up maybe two minutes after she posted it. And I have seen, and read, every single review you guys have ever left. And I appreciate all of them, so much. I'd like to send a special shout-out to Aryae, for the amazing, beautiful review left for us. I think I teared up a little, no lie.

I don't know what our schedules going to look like. But I hope we won't disappoint. It's been a little while, both Nacht and I have changed as people, but we hope to keep up the humor and spirit that you guys love.

Thank you, so much, for keeping up faith in us. We'll see you soon.
