Sorry for not updating in a while – exams and massive personal turmoil have sadly kept me away from writing anything for quite some time. But I'm back – and so is our favourite couple so here it is: the last ever chapter of The Muppet Show :)

Chapter 25 - Epilogue

Turns out Valentine's Day isn't very romantic when you have three children galloping around the house, eating all of the chocolate and knocking over vases with flowers. Personally, I loathed the notion of Valentine's Day, showing your significant other how much you love them like you don't on any other day of the year but over the almost twenty years Xav and I have been together, he has slyly been weaselling Valentine's Day into my heart.

"Morning, Cupcake", he murmurs and slowly turns over to pull my body close to his.

"Oh, but sir, I think the question is, have you prepared cupcakes for me today?" I tap his stomach as he ruffles my hair and lean up to give him a good morning kiss.

"You know I wouldn't dare. I have prepared for starters, doughnuts covered in chocolate icing with chocolate sprinkles as I recall you saying 'Anything that's not chocolate on Valentine's Day is not worth my time', and as a main course, a massive …"

"You guys are disgusting, you know that?" Caleb's voice in the doorway makes me turn over and I grin at him.

"It's called marriage, Caleb. You'll find out soon enough", I wink at him and he groans with embarrassment.

"Seriously, Mum, could you stop doing that?"

I let out a gleeful laugh and struggle out of bed to give him a hug.

"So, why did you come into your parents' bedroom on Valentine's Day morning?" Xav asks and I give him a mental slap. Not helping.

"Even grosser, Dad."

Xav laughs but stops abruptly when he sees Ariel jumping around the hallway with a mysteriously delicious looking brown mass of dough in her hand.

"I'll be right back" he says and starts hurrying after our daughter.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" I look up and see that the look on Caleb's face has turned dead serious and even slightly worried.

"Sure, kiddo, anything." I say and we sit down on the bed as I have the feeling that this is gonna be a difficult conversation.

"It's about my soulfinder, I –"

"Caleb, you know Xav and I have already told you, not until you're eighteen and have left school."

"Yeah yeah, I know. It's just that yesterday, I met someone. A girl." My heart skips a beat and I feel like Xav should somehow be in on the conversation.

"Is she your -?"

"I'm not sure. I just … I felt something… like a pull towards her but I used my gift on her and there was just nothing … absolutely nothing. So, I dunno if that magnetic feeling meant something or if it was just me being a teenage boy and her being beautiful but…"

Beautiful. Key word. Not pretty, not hot but beautiful. I smile at the fact that he has actually just answered his own question.

"How do you know?" He asks and has this helpless look in his eyes that I just want to be all mumsy and pull him into my arms and snuggle him.

"Well, your dad and I hated each other at first and I thought I couldn't do telepathy so it was quite downer but then I landed on a freezing beach with a torn dress and Xav was suddenly the answer."

Caleb gives me a weak smile and goes back to that pensive, vacant look.

"Look, Caleb, if you're worried, how about you find her and make some excuse to bring her here. Maybe I can have a look."

"I think she might be in trouble" he says and suddenly Xav appears in the doorway.

"The Benedicts' specialty."

"Momma? Is it alright if Francis comes over later? We were gonna watch a movie and order pizza or something…"

I grin at Xav who still cannot grasp the concept that his daughter has found her soulfinder, the boy she's gonna marry one day. However, he still has another little princess to dote on.

"Sure, is this like a Valentine's thing or…?"

"My God, please don't embarrass me like that tonight."

"You know I would never do that" I say laughingly and reach over the table to dish out lunch.

"He's not staying over. Forget it" Xav says with a tight-lipped smile and gives Imogen a stern look.

Xav, she's thirteen, for heaven's sake. They aren't even together, more like soulmate-friends.

I haven't taken to Francis yet.

Wrong! You've known him his whole life and I see how the two of you always talk about skiing and sports. You just have a hard time grasping that Imogen isn't your little princess anymore.

You know I really don't like it when you're right.

I turn to Imogen and say with a side-wink to Xav, "If he wants to, he can stay over."

"I'm going out, folks" I pop my head out of the nursery's door and wave at Caleb.

"Be back by eleven, you know the deal"

He nods, gives me a kiss on the cheek and heads out the front door.

"Momma?" I turn around to see Ariel tiptoeing towards as it's actually already her bedtime.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"I want to have someone like Gini has Francis." I snigger at her use of Imogen's nickname as Ariel always had difficulties pronouncing her siblings' names.

"You will, my darling, you will. Now, come on, into bed."

She scurries across the room and hops beneath her 'Brave' bedcovers (Xav was so immensely proud that she didn't become obsessed with Frozen).

"Goodnight kiss?" I ask and smile when she nods eagerly. I give her a gentle kiss on the forehead and then on the eyelids and slowly whisper, "Goodnight and sweet dreams."

"Does Daddy get a kiss, too?" Xav's voice comes from behind me.

"Daddy!" Ariel yelps and reaches out for him with her pudgy little arms. He gives her small kiss as well and we both switch off the light and close the door behind us.

"How about you go the bedroom already? I have a surprise for you."

"Xav, Francis and Imogen are just downstairs. I don't think we should –"

"Not like that, you pervert" He laughs and gives me a quick peck on the lips. "I'll be back in a second"

When I open the bedroom door, I fall more in love with him than I thought possible. No candles, no rose petals, no Bruno Mars song. Miss Piggy and Kermit sitting across of each other on the bed, congregating around a plate of chocolate doughnuts, listening to Hey, Soul Sister. Automatically, I sink back into his arms as he winds them around me and starts swaying me softly from side to side.

You know, at Christmas, it'll be 20 years of us being together.

Personally, I don't know how I stuck it for so long.

My amazing good-looks helped, I'm sure.

Nawww... no. I think it was more you're being the best man I know and your kissing skills that helped.

Oh, really? He turns me around and gives me a quick but intense testing.

Left utterly breathless, I can't even formulate a witty response to that and instead reach up to kiss him again.

I love you, Cupcake.

I love you, too, you muppet.

Now, c'mon, we have cupcakes to slaughter.

It's on! I say and pull him towards the bed.

Your sweet moonbeam

The smell of you in every single dream I dream

I knew when we collided

You're the one I have decided

Who's one of my kind

Hey, Soul Sister!

I don't wanna miss

A single thing you do

Tonight.

Sooo… This is it! The End! I hope I did it justice and I'm really sorry for making some of you wait so long. The Muppet Show is officially over and my next stop will be Caleb's story. I really want to thank all of you who have favourited and reviewed this story and also my other stories and I really enjoyed writing for such wonderful readers.

Disclaimer: Hey, Soul Sister was not written by me (obviously) but by the wonderful Amund Bjorklund, Pat Monahan & Espen Lind.

Happy Valentine's Day! (Though I actually share Crystal's sentiment about it totally!) :)

Please review! :)

P.S. Well done to people who got the Breakfast Club reference :)
