AN: Hello all of my lovelies! I am back to complete this story after a very long hiatus. I want to thank all of you for sticking with me on this story. Because of everything that has happened since the series finale and the comic that the creators published, I decided to have my fanfiction follow it, but with my own twist on it-of course. So, if you have not yet read the mini comic that the creators published, then I suggest not reading this for it will contain some spoilers. As per usual, if you have any questions please feel free to ask. I hope you all enjoy this conclusion! Thank you again for everything!
Disclaimers: I do not own Revolution or any of its characters.

Tension. Tension is all she remembered between Monroe and herself. From the moment he killed Neville until the moment he left her. All she could remember was tension.
When Bass killed Neville, there was a change that nobody could discern. They would do the usual sarcastic banter, but there was a new edge to it. Flirting and lingering gazes and touches was involved. Rachel was always suspicious of their behavior, even up to the moment she died saving everyone from being completely controlled by the nanos. Miles eventually backed off figuring that the pair wouldn't act upon their feelings. There was too much history between them. Gene had begrudgingly accepted their strange relationship for what it was and Connor sent accusing glances every chance he got.
The war with the patriots had been bloody. But the Mathesons and Monroes had come out on top. It was the war with the nanos that seemed to pose a greater threat. With the patriots, they knew how to defeat them, but with the nanos: that was a whole other story. A story that ended up with both Rachel and Connor dying. The nanos were defeated, but it came at a price.
The moment Charlie saw Connor's body become lifeless she knew that she was going to lose Bass. Sje knew that was going to lose a man whom she had started developing feelings for. Charlie was going to lose General Sebastian Monroe.
But she would find him.

Miles stared at Charlie, exasperation clear on his face. "You're mental Charlie. You have no business going after him."
Charlie was shoving clothes into her pack when she glanced at the weary man. He had aged too much in the last several years from the stress that came with war and loss. "I have to. He's been gone for too long. It's about time someone went and dragged his ass back home."
"He left for a reason, Charlie. And he won't be happy about you prancing up to him demanding he come back. Leave him to his own devices."
Charlie snorted, "I know why he left, damn it. And honestly, do you think leaving him to his own devices is stellar advice?" Charlie closed her pack and went to grab her sword that was hanging on her bed post.
"Look, all I'm saying is that it's a waste of your time. If Bass wanted to come back, he'd already be here." Miles stepped closer to Charlie noticing the way she hesitated. He knew that she could see the truth in his words, but he also knew that she was too stubborn for her own good. He placed a hand on her shoulder, "I can't lose you too."
Charlie was torn. She needed to find the former General and bring him back to where he belongs. Even still, she hated to hurt the man who has been there for her so many times since she found him 8 years earlier. She looked into his eyes and willed him to understand. Charlie placed her hand on top of his, "You're not going to lose me Miles. I'll be back…I promise." With this, Charlie head out the door to find the bastard that she fell in love with.

Sebastian Monroe was tortured. His son was dead and the only piece of comfort that he wanted he left behind. He didn't dare go back to her knowing that he would only destroy her if he did. She was broken, too, but she had a chance to live a normal life. He didn't. He couldn't. So, Sebastian Monroe went from town to town drowning his sorrows in women, booze, and fights.
He was currently residing in a small town in the former state of Kentucky when she found him drunk in a bar. "You look like shit." Her voice was music to his ears. He was almost convinced that she was just another hallucination. However, when he fell off his bar stool and felt the immense pain that travelled up his spine, he realized that this wasn't a dream.
He looked up at her from his position on the floor contemplating what he should do. After he realized that it probably wasn't in his best interest to try and bolt, he sighed and pushed himself off the floor. Stumbling towards the stool that he had fallen off of, he asked the bartender to grab a shot glass for his companion and motioned to the girl to take a seat.
After her glass was filled, he watched Charlie as she drank the shot and poured herself another glass. He slightly shook his head and wiped his face before turning to his drink. He downed it and began pouring himself another shot, "What the fuck are you doing here Charlie?"
He chanced a glance her way and watched as the corner of her mouth began to slightly move up into a smirk. "What the fuck do you think I'm doing here?"
"I have a guess and the answer is no. Go home Charlotte." He bit out her name wanting to sound menacing, but knowing that he sounded anything but.
She let out a humorless chuckle, "Not without you Bass."
He gripped his drink tighter and wished to God that she would just leave him the fuck alone. Knowing that she wouldn't he slid off the bar stool and slapped enough diamonds to pay for the drinks. He started towards the door before looking over his shoulder to make sure she was following him. When he saw that she was, he started making his way to the hotel that he was staying in.

Charlie looked around the dump that Monroe was staying in. Her eyes taking in every aspect of the room from the layers of dust on every surface to the wad of blankets on his bed. Her eyes then took in Bass. He looked older with new lines that had graced his face and the constant sadness that she found in his eyes. But he was still Sebastian Monroe. Even drunk and depressed, his presence was that of confidence and power. She could still see him-Sebastian Monroe-and that gave her some hope.
She watched as he tore his shirt off and unbuckled his belt pulling it through each strap and laying it on the table by the bed. He turned to her and it became very hard to breathe. She couldn't remember the last time she saw him shirtless and he was still fit. She licked her lips and had to tear her eyes away from his abdomen and to his face.
The cocky bastard was smirking.
She watched as he shook his head and flopped down on his bed, offering her a seat by patting the space beside him. She too took off her belt and laid it beside his. She shrugged out of her jacket and flung it to the ground before sitting at the edge of his bed.
"Why did you find me?"
Charlie turned to look in his eyes and found sadness there, but also found hope and longing. She lifted her hand and rested it on his cheek, stroking his face with her thumb. She watched as his eyes closed and he leaned into her touch. "Because I missed you Bass. Because I missed you and I want to be by your side."
He seemed to consider this before turning his face away from her hand. "You shouldn't be here Charlotte."
He sounded like a broken man. But she was willing to piece him back together as best as she could by loving him. "I should be here. I want to be here. Don't push me away from you Bass."
"If I was going to push you away I wouldn't have led you back here." Charlie watched him as his fist tightened and waited for him to continue. "You just, you deserve better than me Charlotte. I'm an old man who has…ha-had a son your age. I'm broken, Charlie. You deserve better than me."
She let herself gently smile before taking his fist into her hand and smoothing it out. "The first time I ever met you, I wanted nothing more than to kill you. I saw how monstrous you were and wanted nothing more than for you to die by my sword."
He flinched at her words and began to pull away from her with no avail. "But the more we spent time together in the same vicinity the more I began to realize who you truly were. Yes, you were a murderous psychopath, but you're not like that anymore. You haven't been for a long time. And I fell in love with the man I came to know, the man you are now."
His whole body began to stiffen and he struggled to answer. "I don't deserve you" He whispered, begging her to listen. He was losing this battle and was wanting to cave in to her attempts.
"Let me be the judge of that."
She slowly moved toward him leaned in, finding his lips with hers. It was a tentative kiss, a kiss that neither of them would have ever expected, given their personalities. But it was right. Charlie smiled into the kiss and then stopped. "Come home with me," She mumbled against his lips.
"Damn it, Charlotte. Let me enjoy this will you?" He tried to start the kiss again, but Charlie wouldn't let him. She pulled further away from him smirking as she did so. Bass let out a frustrated sigh, watching her scoot towards the edge of the bed and gave in. "Fine, fine! Just get back over here will you?"
Charlie smiled and straddled his lap taking his face into her hands. "You deserve me Sebastian Monroe and I deserve you." She kissed his forehead and heard him let out a contented sigh and felt his arms wrap around her waist. "We are both broken, but we will be okay-happy even. Only as long as we are together."
Bass nodded and she knew that everything was going to be the way it should be. The tension was going to be no more. She let herself relax into the man and enjoy this moment. She was happy and looked forward to future she knew they would share together.

The next morning, Sebastian Monroe woke up to a blonde beauty beside him. This was not unusual, but what was unusual was that the blonde was Charlotte Matheson. Memories of the previous night came to him and he smiled.
The only person who could make him happy was curled up beside him.
Miles Matheson was going to kill him.
But it would be worth it.
The End.
