Chpt 15
The Mills mansion was quiet. Henry Mills was asleep in his room. Glinda and Elphaba shared the guest room, while Emma of course stayed with Regina. The Ozian women took turns changing into the silky pajamas Regina left for them. Elphaba was so nervous. She hadn't been alone with Glinda in ages. To Elpbaba, Glinda Upland was as stunning as the day they first met at Shiz University all those years ago, with her sunshine curls and glistening blue eyes that took Elphaba's breath away. She never understood what a woman like that could see in a green freak like her. Elphaba glanced sheepishly toward the queen sized bed and back toward Glinda. "Well, this is awkward," she said, rubbing the back of her neck.
Glinda sat down on the edge of the bed, "Come join me," she told Elphaba and patted the spot next to her. Elphaba sat down next to Glinda, fidgeting with her sleeve, and looking anywhere that wasn't Glinda's face.
"Elphaba, look at me," Glinda demanded, "Tell me, what is it?"
Elphaba sighed and met Glinda's eyes surprised by the love she found staring back at her. "How can you ever forgive me?" she asked her beloved. A tear drop fell to her cheek as she continued, "I have been horrible. I fucking cursed you for Oz sake." Elphaba bowed her head in shame, loathing herself. She felt she did not deserve forgiveness or love from Glinda. Not after the heinous sins she had committed.
Glinda placed a finger under Elphaba's chin and tilted the woman's head upward. "I don't have to forgive you Elphie, because it was all my fault," she confessed. "I swear I never meant to hurt you. My parents forced me to marry him. I should have run. I should have looked for you."
"I never should have left you in the first place," said Elphaba. Her biggest regret in life was not getting on that carriage with Glinda. "I took all my anger out on you, and for that I am truly sorry."
Glinda scooted closer to Elphaba and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "We have both made mistakes," she said, "but Elphie, I do believe we have been given a second chance. If you will still have me, I..I...think we should-" her words were interrupted by Elphaba's lips pressed firmly against her own. Elphaba's answer to Glinda would always be yes.
"I love you," Elphaba told Glinda, " and I promise I will never leave you again."
"Oh, Elphie," Glinda cupped Elphaba's face with her hands, "you've had my heart since the day we met," she said, "and you always will." Glinda brought Elphaba's lips to hers in a tender kiss. Their kisses quickly became heated and the women spent the remainder of the night tangled up in skin, making up for lost time.
Down the hall in the master suite, Emma and Regina wasted no time in expressing their feelings for one another. As soon as the bedroom door was closed and locked, Emma pushed Regina against the sturdy oak and kissed her with a passion that set Regina's body on fire. Emma pressed her thigh against Regina's center, as her lips trailed kisses down her neck. This was so much better than Regina could have ever imagined. "Take me to bed," she demanded, needing Emma to satisfy the ache between her legs. The women quickly removed their clothes and lay together under the blankets.
"You are so beautiful," Emma complemented her love, "do you know that?"
"Why don't you stop talking and come show me," Regina said playfully. Emma raised an eyebrow and grinned at the mayor. "Oh, I'm gonna show you," she teased and began to kiss her way down Regina's body, stopping to suck and nip at each nipple. Regina was on cloud nine. Emma's mouth on her was doing things to her body she hadn't felt in quite a long time. Emma wanted only to please her queen. She set herself between Regina's legs and brought the woman over the edge again and again, until Regina was utterly spent. Emma kissed her way back up Regina's perfect body and lay next to her, both women breathing heavily. "That was-" Regina started, but she couldn't find the words to describe how incredible she felt. "That was amazing," said Emma. "You are amazing."
Regina stared into Emma's emerald eyes and she couldn't help but think about how this night almost didn't happen. "I almost lost you," she whispered and she began to cry, releasing the trauma of today's events.
Emma took Regina into her arms and held her close. "It's not your fault Regina," she spoke softly, "I know you think it is, but it's not, so stop punishing yourself. It was a close call today, but let's focus on the fact that we are alive and in love and happy and we have the rest of our lives to love each other and raise our son together. I love you Regina Mills."
"I love you too, Emma." Now Regina's tears were that of joy. She was so much more than just happy. Regina Mills was in love and for the first time was able to picture the life she had always dreamed of. Emma and Henry were her family and she would live the rest of her life giving them all her heart, her love, and everything they ever needed.
The women continued to explore their feelings for one another throughout the night until their bodies were exhausted and succumbed to sleep. The next morning, the sun shown bright on two couples at the Mills mansion, bringing a promise of a new day, a new life, and everlasting love.
