Greets, folks! ImsoyouknowwhatImean ;D

-20-

I'll let you hold my heart in these two hands

"Lil!Get down!"

Scotty gasped as he buried Lilly protectively under his own body.

His arms ached from the sudden effort as he pulled her up and flung her over the fence.

His wrists, which had intercepted his own fall to save Lilly from all his weight,

burned and he groaned. Rolling to one side he's growling a harsh:

„Son of a bitch!"

Shielding his eyes against the swirling dust, he looked back concerned.

Angelo and Lucille were each wrapping a lasso around the monster's neck

and Josh was running into the house to get an ampulla of sedativ.

The Lasso rope was fixed to one end of the stable door

to whom they had driven back the horse by using loud shouts.

Angelo was trying to calm down the insanely roaring animal.

He did his best to throw his sweater over Black Jacks head,

feeling the rush of small, hard, gray hooves near his own head

while fighting with the massive whirlwind of black mane and fur.

Scotty never suspected a horse to scream like that

and the screams were permanenting his ears and were tormenting his soul.

Black Jacks hooves were whiring in the air and Scotty realized with horror that the stallion

was about to stand on his hind legs, forcing front hooves through the air only a few inches

from Angelo's face.

"Watch out!"

The detective screamed loudly at the Mexican in the same second that a shot crashed the air.

The colossus sagged on his forelegs and the animals nose was touching the ground.

Scotty turned and saw Josh holding a rifle.

He holds his breath and saw the terror in Lucille and Angelo's eyes,

but he gave a short nod at the foreman.

If someone knows best that sometimes it's „shoot first and ask the questions later" it was him.

Sometimes it was necessary to immediately shoot instead of waiting for the suspect to calm down...

And all of the sudden, well hidden memories were tormenting him...

Sharp pieces of glass rained down to the ground.

They were giving away the view to the scenery that had remained hidden behind the mirror before:

Ed Materson laying sprawled on the floor, three holes in the back, which colored his denim jacket in a deep crimison red.

Scotty rushed into the room with his gun still strechted out in front of him,

bent down to make sure Romeo was dead, felt the pulse.

There was none.

Suddenly Will Jeffrie's pale face appeared in his field of view.

He'd never thought to see Will so scared.

"Lil..."

"He got me."

Her voice was only a whisper, but against the unnatural silence you would have heard a pin comin' down to the ground.

His own voice sounded so strange. So small.

"Lil …"

With blood rushing to his head, Scotty lunged forward, knelt down beside her,

saw the blood on her otherwise immaculate white blouse and started to panic.

He raised his head to Jeffries.

"Get the paramedics!"

His tone was ringing in his ears.

Drawn by fear. Pressed out hastily.

The image of Lilly lying against the gray wall made him shiver for a moment.

Scotty felt cold ... and something else.

No.

No, oh no. He couldn't think of losing her.

Her dim blue eyes stared at him in shock, as if his facial expression was given her more fear

than the fact that she had been shot.

"Get the paramedics!"

Were those tears as he was screaming again for the paramedics?

He pulled off his tie with a jerk, pressing it against the blood that irretrievably soaked his fingers.

His heart, like hers, was racing through the thin fabric on his arm pressed against her chest.

It is your fault.

All your fault.

Did you hit her?

Was it your bullet?

My God, I killed her.

No.

That couldn't have been mine.

The trajectory doesn't fit.

It must have been Ed's bullet.

As if that fact would've make it any better-

She's shot any less!

I should've fired more bullets.

If I'd shoot just a little quicker, if I would've pushed up the stairs faster ...

But how should've know what's going on here –

Damn, I wouldn't 've seen anything in there-

Excuses.

Super stupid, idiotic damn excuses!

Lilly.

Please don't ya die on me.

You can't die. Not now.

Not here, not when I haven't told ya...

Dios mio, por favor.

No quiero quitar ella.

I can not lose her, too.

He didn't hear the paramedics until they pulled him aside.

God, she already looked like a ghost leaning up against the wall like that...

Scotty's thoughts returned to the here and now.

He saw a small group of people who were gathered up around the struck horse

and sudden anger was rosing in him.

Won't anybody make sure Lil's okay?!

Speaking of a certain someone...!

"Lil! Lilly! "

Kneeling down beside her, he's relieved about the fact

that he could register a flat pulse and that she was still breathing,

though being still unconscious.

Yet her pulse was calm and regular, as if she was fast asleep.

He picked her up carefully and carried her limp figure over to Lucille:

Lilly was hanging in his arms like a broken doll.

Lucille, who was still leaning over the horse, looked up in shock.

"Lil's unconscious."

Sue was the first one to notice him and was running up to him.

The elderly woman expertly examined the woman hangin' in his arms

and was running her thumb over Lilly's damp cheek, clucking her tongue contentedly

as a pink stripe adhered to it.

"I'll be right back. Crazy girl. Gettin' into the way of that crazy devil. "

Scotty just tried to figure out if that last scentense was said with just a hint of something

that did sound like pride in his ears...

"Crazy's the last word I'd choose for that stunt."

He cursed in Spanish, too.

"Ella es loco! Ella es me vuelve loco! "

Angelo looked up in surprise.

His hand was laying on the sweat-stained horse's neck.

Lucille also stared blankly at Scotty.

"She's crazy. She drives me crazy."

Angelo translated his words to the small group and nodded.

"Mi comprende. No alcanzo a entender por ella lo hizo. "

Scotty narrowed his eyes until they're almost slits.

"Yes, it's unbelieveable to me, too. Why on earth did she took this risk?"

Angelo got up and was comin' over to them.

He looked down at Lilly and smiled.

"I guess we can ask her right now, what ya think, Scotty?

Yo entiendo ella es una sengnora osado. I think she's a daring woman. "

Scotty barley felt it, but it was there.

Lilly's moving in his arms.

While that Sue had stepped up unnoticed.

She's now holding a small bottle underneath Lilly's nose.

The former unconsious Detective coughed, wriggling fiercely in Scotty's arms,

and finally sat up with difficulty.

"What-...! Where am I? What's goin' on!"

Slowly she looked bewildered down at herself, at her deranged clothes.

She's examing all the dirt and the scratches on her arms and legs with...

Was that fascination?!

But while she's spoking up to them, Lilly sounds completly bewildered.

"Scotty! What the hell happend to me?!"

Against his own will Scotty Valens had to giggle.

Hearing Lillian Rush's voice that kind of dumfolded

and on top the picture she gaves while she's sitting there in the sand...

It was completley hillarious and...

Well, he's so relieved that she seems to be okay...

Bubbles of laughter errupted around him, too

and to his surprise there was a big fat grin spreading across Lils dirty face, too.

„Though I don't get it … I don't know what's so funny with me, layin' flatass in the sand,

but... That must be a really good story."

she gave away slowly.

After a few more deep breaths the small group returned to the Ranch House

and they called their doctor.

The admitted doctor was spitting out his chewing tobacco before patting Lillys shoulder

while he patiently was hearing the story of how Lilly had tried to stop the wild horse.

"Not bad for a yankee, cowgirl."

He was putting on his broad Southern smile and congratulated Lucille on her energetic friend.

Everyone was relieved that Lilly was fine and Angelo had profusely thanked her

for bringing his horse to reason and that she'd prevented worse for the herd.

Izzie's been falling around surprised Scotty's neck and thanked him for saving her sister.

"I thought I was going to die! When I saw that damn horse that starts to run towards you and Scotty, really... I swear I tried to look but, you know, I can't! "

Scotty almost turned green and mumbeled something like:

"What a solace, Iz."

He sighed.

"I'll take Lil with me now."

And he addressed clearly at her eager sister:

"And I don't want to hear otherwise from you! We won't discuss it. "

Then he howled Lilly over his shoulder.

Yeah, right, he did that.

Scotty flipped her over his shoulder.

Lil squeaked-

She wasn't shure he could handle her but he showed her that he's more than capable of it.

He won't allow her to walk.

Jesus, that somehow sounded like Neanderthals.

The man dragging the woman into his cave.

"Scotty! Scotty, wait! What happened to him? Is he alright?"

Lilly asked worriedly and the hair on her neck rose as she thought of the scene right before her fainting.

"I heard a shot! Is it ... I mean, did you shoot him? "

"Blackjack is fine, well, at least according to the circumstances, he's fine by now."

Angelo replied, grimacing.

"He reduced his whole box to rubble though.

We had to take him to the picking barn. The walls are extra reinforced and padded.

The vet gave him a dose of sedative that would send an elephant to Neverland and Doc's treating

his superficial injuries with all his might. The dose will be slowly reduced this time so that Black hopefully will better acclimatize. "

Izzie shook her head.

She was standing close to Angelo in the doorway.

"Josh'd stunned him. He'd had trouble finding the right riffle and had to laboriously load the arrow into a normal one – and shoot. Everyone thought the gelding was dead. It was so horrible to see Blackjack on the ground like this. "

She took a deep breath and fanned herself with a magazine and scolded:

"And you on the ground, too! How could you've been so stupid, Lils ?!"

she sighed deeply as if she's the next one who'll need Sue's salts.

„But luckily there are still real heroes … Hereos like Scotty here. "

The one and only Scotty Valens grimaced and turned away.

"That was just what had to be done."

But to his dismay the one he really wanted to be grateful

was just relieved that the horses were doing well.

All of them were actually.

So Lillys efforts had paid off at least.

"A very brave act, Scotty."

Lucille praised him now and said, with a twinkle in her eyes:

"But what wouldn't we do for ... good friends and... partners, right?"

A small silence emerged and everbody seems to be looking guilty.

„Now I think it'll be best if we'll leave the two of you alone- All by yourself - I'm sure Detective Valens will have an eye on our fearless Lilly - And if she's trouble, Scott-I'm in the house. "

Lilly laughed and was holding her aching ribcage.

She had to admit that it was a nice feeling that everyone was worried.

And how Scotty picked her up had felt strangely comforting though she would'nt have had ever admitted that to him. If she's honest with herself... she might get used to this...

This was the best excuse in the world for letting her heavy head drop to his shoulder now, too.

Tiredly she was closing her eyes while he's picking up the pace again.

Later that afternoon he appeared in her doorframe with tea and some cupcakes from Sue.

He came up to her bed and was putting an ice cold tissue onto her forehead.

"Sleep now, Lilly."

"But I-"

He tilted his head to the side in disapproval.

"No discussion. No temper tantrum."

There was something like mild anger colouring his voice when he told her that.

A tender and reassuring smile appeared on her bruised face.

But not just because she wanted to reassure him, but because a strange thought had occured to her out of the sudden.

And Lillys thoughts started wanderin' somewhere where no of them had been before...

She thought about him, Scotty.

About Scotty Valens being a Dad.

Being a good, no, a remarably Dad to someone's kids one day.

Every woman on the planet might can call herselfs lucky

to have a Scotty Valens as the father to her kids.

And to have him... As a husband.

The thought somehow made her sad.

Their conversation in the hallway, not so long ago and not so far away from her current stay came to mind. His „lone wolf" theory. About them both being alone and that'll stay that way...

She had to turn her face away from him, into the pillows, pretending she really needs to fall asleep.

His words seemed a heavy burden now even more than back then...

Their hopelessness sunk down deeply and painfully into Lils own feelings.

They were rubbing of her so needed sleep and she knew that she'll regret it the next day to lay awake though she should've slept peacefully.

Later on she'd lain there, though awake with closed eyelids.

She listened to the way Scotty was starting to settle in a nearby stool

and after a little while the continuous sounds and his familiar presence forced her to sleep at least.

It must be some several hours later that Lilly blinked up in surprise -

She really must have fallen asleep.

Slowly she turned her aching head slightly to one side and sleepy looked over the soft pillows.

Scotty must have shut the curtains to keep the sun from shinin' in.

He's sitting slumped in a rocking chair back in the corner next to the fireplace.

It was such a nice view that Lilly had to smile widely.

The moon threw a faint play of light and shadow through a small crack in the curtains.

It was lighting his calm, sleeping features.

He was lookin' like a sweet and innocent boy now.

Peaceful.

Hope and heat were spreading throughout her as she's studying his profile.

For a few minutes, she was content to just look at him as he sat there in the moonlight.

Pulling the blanket a little tighter around herself she overheard his even breath.

In and out.

In and out.

She thought back to the flight from Philly.

Thought about how he's lying half asleep in her lap.

About the way her fingers were carefully going through ebony strands.

How she had wondered for the first time how it would be to fall asleep beside him,

in the same room, what it would be like to share a bed with him.

His head on her shoulder while she might will be drawing circles in his hair.

She always believed that she would panic at the mere thought.

That would have been the typical Lilly Rush way.

But now... Back at the plane it's been the opposite.

Unknown inner peace had filled her.

Her head blared now and she closed her eyes again.

Scotty had insisted taking her to the ranch house and was watching her for the rest of the evening, just in case she had a concussion instead of the normal headache.

Her smile widened a bit.

The moon gave way to a cloud and Lilly got up cautiously.

She went to the window, the moon lit the porcelain of her skin,

the stars illuminating the sky.

One look over her shoulder and she wished he couldv'e been standing next to her.

Lookin' at the stars with her, too.

A certain song came to mind while she studied his feauters and a phrase of Truck Sugars song came to mind:

Watchin' my Lucky Stars with you...

Lilly shivered.

She wore only her blouse and felt a blush creeping up her neck by the mere thought of whom'd undressed her ...

Well, actually only one way remained ...

Somehow she'd imagined being undressed by Scotty would be something a little more different,

at least a bit more romantic …

Her head started to spin again.

Had she really thought about what it would be like if he ...?

The ghost of the image, him unbottin' her shirt, takin' off her blouse down from her small shoulders,

his fingers that were touching her arms on their way down to her waist...

Lilly shook her head in confusion.

That must be the pain.

The concussion.

Or not?

She tiptoed to his spot and leaned forward slowly to study his familiar face.

Yeah.

He really was a damn good-looking guy.

Check.

His faces now sun- tanned teint had a few more wrinkles than when she once met him in the interrogation room.

A smile crossed her own face.

She raised a hand and traced his right eyebrow with her fingertips as if she would wipe away

the few wrinkles caused by stress from his face.

It was nice to be able to touch him that way without him knowing it.

It occured to be something ... secretly, romantically.

And if she did it while he's sound asleep she had to deal with nothing more than her own feelings.

Her hand went down to his nose, her thumb stroking his lower lip, slightly below her own,

only centimeters away.

Pressure subsided and his breath tickled her palm.

Lilly leaned forward, her forehead hovering over his.

Her hands were cupping his face in her palms, as if she wanted to pull his face to her.

The colour of her eyes darkened, changed to midnight blue.

Butterflies were doing somersaults in her stomach while a part of herself argued with the other:

One side was wishing he'll wake up-

The one who's really wanting to touch him and wanted to be touched by him.

The other one's afraid though and it preferred to enjoy the innocent suspense.

Softly sighing she felt his warm breath caressing her cheek as she gently breathed a kiss to his lips.

"I love you."

Her whole body was burning with a hard feeling of longing now.

If only she wouldn't know how wonderful it feels when he's returning her kisses!

The possibilities if he would've been able to reciprocate the kiss or even took the initiative,

as he did back at Philly ...

That moment seemed to be like a lifetime ago now-

Everything here, now, is so different - free and unbound … lines were blurring...

If he'll just open his eyes ...

There was still time, runinn' up that hill, wasn't it?

She could've turned around.

She could've run over to the bed, pull up the blankets and pretend that nothing's changed,

nothing had had happened.

Dropping down to her knees in front of the rocking chair

Lilly gently put her left hand on his leg.

"Scotty?"

The person announced jumped up and reached automatically to his hip.

His head went wild and for a second it seems to be extremly funny

how he searched for his nonexistent weapon.

"Hey! Scotty! It's okay, it's me, Lil!"

Lilly got up and was grabbing his arms, holding him tight.

"Que- ?!"

His dark brown eyes were almost black in the dark of the night.

Lilly nearly believed she was sinking in a vortex of darkness

while his eyes were trying to fix her now.

"Dios, Lil, please don't ever pull that stunt on me again and scare me like that!"

He snorted and slowly relaxed his muscles.

She was this close, she them flexin' under her hands and his shoulders were droppin'

and she asked him out of curiosity:

"Do you always shout in Spanish when you are so tense?

Is it always so dangerous to wake you up ?!"

I mean it seems that I'm lucky enough that boss had kept your weapon securely at the department! These are completely new pages that I discover from you, Valens!"

She teased him, pulling a strand of hair out of her eyes.

"Maybe I should ask your Ma about more blackmail information."

Smiling reassuringly at him she took a deep breath and was letting her hand rest at her side.

Scotty seemed to be fully recovered by now.

Suddenly Lil had the strange feeling that his eyes were sliding over her "outfit", down her long, slender legs before they're finally returning to her face.

His expression changed slightly, and she saw the tightening in his jaw muscles

before he regained control, felt the tendons and muscles harden beneath her hands.

Before she knew what she's doing, she was stepping back.

It was like the moment at the stairs.

Something was happening to them right now,

and Lilly knew he had never ever looked at her that way before.

"Please, stay."

he whispered, reaching for her with one arm.

Hesitantly, she reached out to his hand, too.

Chewin' nervously she claimed the left part of her lower lip uncertainly between her teeth.

The flock of butterflies struck the sky.

"Stay here with me, Lilly."

It was sounding different when he wasn't using her usual nickname "Lil".

Somehow more gentle and caring.

Softer.

Lovingly.

Like a request.

Even as if he's wanting to plead.

His fingers felt rough and soft at the same time as they were sliding over her chin

to the back of her neck, and he rubbed his thumb over her cheek.

"My head still hurts."

She's clunging to the palm, mumbling the words past his hand.

She really had a hard day.

Just wanted to rest her cheek there for a moment.

Exactly there, in his palm.

His hand on her cheek, however, also brought back memories.

It felt familiar and correct, as it did in front of Paul's house.

And, although they knew each other for so long, it also was a new and exiting feeling.

He gave her a quick glance and she smiled apologetically.

"You really don't need to worry about me though, you know.

I... you know I'm fine, don't ya?

Did you ... I mean ... who ... "

Lilly looked down helplessly.

He followed her gaze, just to avert his guilty eyes as if he was embarrassed

to have been caught "watching".

Scotty Valens.

Always the gentleman.

Always at your service.

"No, I'm not. Your sister was here again when you fell asleep and got .."

he cleared his throat -was he embarrassed?

"Taken care of it. Making sure that you'll have it a bit more comfortable."

"Oh."

Lilly didn't quite know what to say.

"I should probably gather my things and .. um .. go."

He raised a warning hand he had loosened from her neck and pulled her over to the bed.

Sitting carefully down beside her he put up a safe distance from her on the edge of the bed

but reached for her hand nonethless.

„I did meant it though, Lil. Like I said.

All I want from you is to stay here. Tonight, I mean. "

He's sounding so serious!

To what path would that lead them?

Now something like panic seized her and Lilly noticed that her knees on the edge of the bed were beginning to tremble.

"But I'm fine-"

"Well, yeah."

He sighed and gave her his famous lopsided „I am Scotty Valens and I know

that you'll do as I suggest just because you love me" grin like he did in Nashville.

„I already know that you'll say that, Lillian Rush.

But you were unconscious. And though now you're feeling fine

we don't want that to change, won't we?!"

He's cocky, again.

„We won't take any risk, right? Nellie, your family and friends would miss ya."

But two can play that game, right?

Grabbing his still free hand next to her, Lilly squeezed both of his hands lightly in hers.

The panic vanished the second she felt the warm glow of his nearby body

through the contact with both of his hands.

It was feeling as if warmth was transferring to her

and suddenly her head was completely and cristal clear.

Peace and quiet seized her.

It was like finally comin' home.

Back to the place where you belong though you don't know up until now.

"And you? What about you?"

Lilly knew she was moving on thin ice, but suddenly she wanted to be absolutley clear.

She had to know.

"What should be with me?"

He's trying to tiptoe around the subject, like a suspect in the interview room.

But no one can outsmart Lilly Rush in an interrogation.

"Would you miss me too, Scott?"

She asked the question again, but her tone this time was firm and calm.

She deliberately didn't address him with his usual nickname:

By using his birth name she wanted to make sure he was getting the difference,

the importance his answer will have for her.

Searching his eyes, Lillys fingers closed imperceptibly a little tighter around Scottys,

as if she was afraid he was the one who would suddenly jump up and run away.

"We haven't talked about ourselves since you drifted off to the land of dreams on that plane."

she earnestly said and Scotty thought he heard a slight reproach.

"There wasn't the right time for an ... an opportunity."

Lilly slowly sat up and crossed her fingers with his.

At least he let it happen.

"Bullshit, Scotty."

He raised both eyebrows in surprise, but did not budge.

"And you know that. You've dodged me all the time."

She shifted a little closer to him until their knees were touching.

"You are still avoiding me!"

He remained silent, pressing both lips together, leaving only a small, bluish stroke.

She sighed.

"I'm really fine."

Suddenly he pulled her into a hug in a flowing motion and his breath tickled her neck.

He almost crushed her to him uncomfortably hard, her front pressed against his upper body.

"I know, Lil. But it's me- The one whoe's far from fine."

Slowly, she freed herself from his embrace a little, without giving it up completely, and moved away from him for a while. She searched his beloved face for answers but couldn't find one,

so she kept on trying to do the thing she's best at, what John Stillman taught her once:

You just have to ask the right questions.

"Why?"

He lowered his head and she thought she could see a hint of red streaking his cheeks.

"I ...You... you could have been killed!

Just like back then ... in the woods, with George.

Or when you shouted at Ed to shoot you ...

Or when you almost broke because of your nightmares.

Or when that Bastard John Smith said those nasty things to you.

When Will was shot and we were both almost shot by this boy.

When Moe Kitchner pulled that attempt of murder on you.

Or when the sick guy Chris called her boyfriend gave you one over your turnip and left

with your gun ... I can list more situations if you want! The last time I saw you threw yourself

in the way of a crazy horse! It could've easyly killed you, Lil!"

Lilly was silent for a moment before she spoke.

She didn't release his hands though.

"Thanks for the little stand-up, Detective Valens.

I know everything. I work homicide a little longer than you.

I am a Police Officer, just like you and I'll stay the way that I am, Scotty.

If anyone should've known that, it should've been you! "

She lifted his chin a little, nuzzling his nose like that of a naughty boy,

throwing him a flirty smile.

"And, following that line of thought: What will you do now-

Send me to bed without dinner? Put me over your knee and kick my ass ?! "

Scotty jumped up in a fluid motion.

He turned his back away from her, a hand on the doorframe, emitting a long sigh.

"You don't want to understand me, right?"

Lilly followed, placing a small, slender hand between his shoulder blades.

"Then tell me what I don't understand."

His broad shoulders slumped down in mute resignation and he shook his head sadly.

"I can't, Lil. I ... I shouldn't, damn it. "

"But,"

she grinned, remembering that she was repeating his words from back then,

kind of akin to him, even if she never wanted to force him to anything or force him.

Even only his distressed sight caused nausea in her.

"You have to, after everything that has happened, Valens."

He threw her an indefinable look over his shoulder.

"You have no idea what you are doing to me, right?"

Lilly's head jerked backwards and she let go of his hand.

"I don't want to hurt you, never!"

"No? So you're saying that...,"

suddenly Scotty nearly drove over to her,

grabbing both of her arms and he was pushing her forcefully against the wall behind her.

He's framing her body with his now.

Huddling against her, his head, his lips just millimeters away from hers.

Heat poured from him to her and Lilly slightly gasped in surprise.

"You're really have no idea-

That I can't even come up with a reasonable sentence anyway, as long as you're stitting or standing here... So close that I can almost touch you, but still so far. And... like this ..."

Again he measured her appearance with a flaming look.

".. in front of me ?!"

The next second he's crushin' his lips against hers, wrapping his arms around her slender figure.

He buried his hands in her hair, pressing her face against his hard.

He didn't kiss her the way he did like back in Philly.

Not careful, not tender.

This time it's downright hungry, passionate.

Full of fiery, restrained desire, with all his might.

Scotty's partening her lips with his, without warning and seemingly without the need of oxygen.

And without the will of ever letting go.

Lilly's blood rushed in her ears and for a second she felt completely overrun.

Actually, she felt like pushing him back with all her might and kneeling him in the guts-

But...

This is Scotty.

Deep down she knew that he wouldn't hurt her.

He would even shot himself to death than to hurt her.

She knew that if she'll say stop or did something to back away now he'll immediatley let go of her.

There's nothing to be scared of him.

He's Scotty Valens.

And he's like he is from head to toe.

Inside an' out.

Hot headed and passionate and head over heels sometimes.

But still as wonderful as he always is.

Her knee...

The moment she thought about her knee, she felt his right hand lifting up her leg.

He urged his body up against her, sliding one hand towards her hip,

only to reach for the back of her knee, wrapping both of her legs abruptley around his midsection.

All resistance was broken.

Before she knew what she's doing, Lilly's kissing him back with equal force.

He lifted her entire body lightly against the wall.

And she's finding herself wrapped around him, returning his kisses with equal passion.

With her fire.

Lil felt the burning longing again, and wanted to give it away before it threatened to devour her.

She slid her arms through under his, tugging at his shirt, where she got a hold on it at his shoulder blades.

At the same time she heard a ripping noise before her blouse landed on the carpet in a half, immediately followed by his shirt.

Her breath's caught because he's lifting her up again and she's expecting another storm of kisses.

But this time he took her up into his arms, as he had done this day before,

without loosening her lips, and carried her over to the bed all „prince charming"- style.

A soft sigh's stolen itself around her lips as he was laying down beside her.

Lilly's been pulled against the bare skin of his torso this time.

When her face, her neck, her left collarbone's covered with his lips she sighed again contently and closed her eyes. A thought crossed her otherwise blank mind:

I love him. And I can trust him now, with... this... I want to do this. Now. I just... I want... everything he'll give me. I want to feel him. I can trust him just as good as I always did every day on the job. He won't hurt me willingly. He's Scotty. My Scotty. I want to trust him. With this. With my life.

After that it became quiet in the room.

The moon threw in a play of light and shadow.

Her blond hair was spread like the corona of a sun on Scotty's upper body

and her breathing was calm and even.

Lilly was sound asleep.

Scotty pressed his lips gently against her forehead.

"I love you, Lilly Rush."

he declared his feelings to the silent night and felt that his eyelids were startin' to close, too.
