"Jayden!"

I rolled my eyes and continued to prepare two lunches while calling my son`s name as my eyes flickered to the clock. The longer he would be, the later I was for work. Turning my dark gaze to Xavia who had been eating her cereal, waiting on her brother as well. You`d think Jayden, a nine year old would beat his litter sister who happens to be six, out of the bedroom.

"But, mom…~" My attention turned to the tan boy who frowned and held onto his stomach. He entered the kitchen while I set the sandwich container in their lunch boxes. My head tilted to the right as I couldn`t help but snicker lowly. "I think I might be coming down with something…" He faked cough for good measure.

Who was this kid trying to fool?

I invented the fake sickness. My brow arched and I put Xavia`s lunch in her HelloKitty book bag before walking around the table, towards the young boy. "Oh?" I questioned, feeling his forehead. "Don`t seem ill to me." Removing my hand from his head, his frown deepened.

"But….but.." Putting his lunch in his hand, he knew he had been defeated. Tch, he should be more convincing than a half ass cough. Feeling arms wrap around my waist, I smiled softly at Jacob.

"What`s this I hear about being sick?" He murmured against my neck. I shook my head slightly and before i could answer, our little 2nd grader did for us.

"He`s just pretending so he woudn`t have to get beat up at school." A low grumble came from my husband as he watched the dark haired boy glare at his sister. She didn`t seem fazed by it at all. She merely finished her Lucky Charms and hopped off the stool, placing her bowl in the sink. Hmph…wonder where she got that from….

I could feel my husband shake a bit as he stepped away from me. "You`re getting beat up?" I sighed and checked the time again. Well, work can wait right now…seems more important things have to be solved at the moment. Leaning against the counter with my chin resting in my hand, I furrowed my brows at my son.

"But…dad, you don`t understand…" Jayden murmured with his head down.

I frowned slightly before speaking. "Why are we just now hearing about this?" I examined him and his bruises. It didn`t occurs to me that someone could`ve did it. He was on the football team and they tend to be rough.

"What don`t I understand?" Jacob questioned with narrowed eyes before Xavia small voice spoke again.

"He didn`t want you to know a girl did it."

The room silenced as I tried to cover the small smile on my face. A girl…fighting the future alpha. Quite….interesting.

"Xavia, shut up!" I watched as the little girl simply shrugged at her brother who`s face had been red from embarrassment. Honestly, it was too cute…well, despite my son getting injured… "I couldn`t hit her back, so what did you want me to do?!"

I looked over at Jacob to see amusement dancing in his dark eyes as well. Kneeling before his son, he let out a slight chuckle. "A…um, girl?"

"It isn`t funny!"

"Perhaps she has a crush on you, mm?" I teased as Jayden`s eyes grew big and mortified.

"As if I`d go out with her!" He announces while crossing his arms. "She`s crazy!"

"But, son…" Jake caught the boy`s attention once more. "The crazy ones, are the better ones." He smiles while giving me a knowing look.

I rolled my eyes. So what if I stole his truck…and hit him with a frying pan…and practically go nutty when given chocolate. I wouldn`t call it being crazy…just…more personality.

I patted Jacob`s head and grinned. "Then why is she doing all these things to you?"

"I don`t know."

Placing his lunchbox in his hands, I ruffled his dark hair before telling him. "Well, you have to go to school no matter what." Erecting myself, I continued, "I`ll have a talk with the principal and the girl`s paren-"

"You can`t do that!" Furrowing my brows at my son`s outburst, I gestured for him to explain. Taking a deep breath while rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand, Jayden huffed. "I can`t let a girl know I snitched on her."

Jacob stood and snaked his hand around my waist before pulling me closer. "Even if you`er injured?" The current alpha brows perked as he looked down at his son. Stifling a chuckle when he felt me squirm, he only held tighter.

Asshole.

"Even that." He murmured before placing his lunch in his bag. "You know how bad my reputation would drop if that happens."

"What reputation?" I stifled my laugh at Xavia`s comeback. Oh, I totally see it now…she got it from me… Wow. I guess the apple does`t fall too far from the tree.

Narrowing his eyes at his sister, Jayden semi glared at her before speaking. "Well, if you hadn`t known, I`m quite popular-"

"Where? Your head?"

"Fight me…"

"Tch," Breaking away, Jacob turned his head to the door to see the pack coming in. "Knock much?"

"Of course not." Leah says as I watched Seth shove food in his mouth…Wait, I didn`t make that for him…who am I kidding? I can`t stay mad at him.

Paul plopped down in his chair, ruffling Xavia`s hair which caused her to scrawl and him to chuckle. If anything, he enjoyed her presence. He says it`s her sharp tongue that intrigues him. "Ah, little ones not off yet?"

I glance dat the time once more and shook my head. "Nah. Seems they'll be a little late today…as well as me." I murmured only to receive a kiss on my cheek by my husband. Although the blushing, I glared at him playfully. I bet he enjoyed this. He liked keeping me around even for a second longer.

Feeling a warm arm around me, I looked up at Quil as he grinned at me. "Ah, take a load off." Nudging me slightly. "You work too much."

My lips pursed while I narrowed my left eye ay the wolf. "Do I? Or do you not work enough?"

"Shit, probably the second one." Paul laughed only to be hit in the back of the head by his alpha.

"Language…asshole…" He added the last part lowly so the kids wouldn`t hear.

Shaking his head with a low chuckle. "Hypocrite."

"Why are you late anyways, Jo?" Seth asked once he swallowed all his food.

Running my fingers through my raven locks, I arched my brow. "My son has gotten himself in a fumble." Looking at the blushing boy. "Right, honey."

"Please…for everything it`s worth. Don`t tell them." He begged.

"Tell us what?" Quit asked, not fazed at all by Jacob removing his arm from my shoulder. He was a jealous dog after all.

"That a girl is kicking his ass."

"Xavia!"

"Oh! I love this one!" Smacking Paul in his head once more, I simply sighed and narrowed my eyes at her and her language. I should probably restrict Paul from my daughter. Especially if she`s picking up habits like this…

"Wait!" Leah barged in the conversation. "You`re letting a little bit-"

Raising my hand up, "Leah, please." I didn`t need anymore profanity in the house, especially if the kids are picking up on it.

"Brat," She corrected herself, "Bully you?"

Shrugging, "What choice do I have?"

"A bunch!" Sitting in front of Jayden, the she-wolf began to tell him. "I`m not saying to get physical, but don`t be pushed around. Stand up for yourself. You`re going to be an alpha some day for christ sake."

Sighing, my son nods with puffed out cheeks. "I am. Come on, mom!" Taking a hold of my hand, he begins to drag me out the entrance. "I have business to take care of."

"Oh, now you want to go…" I rolled my eyes before feeling my lips being pecked by Jacob as he sent a smile my way. I of course had to exchange it because I loved when he smile. Seeing Xavia push herself out of her chair and followed us.

"Be safe, eh."

"Always." I murmured in return before leaving.

"Eh….you finally did it, mate…" Paul muttered to me with a soft smile. I looked back at my pack brother and chuckled lowly with crossed arms.

"Did have faith in me?"

"You kept chasing after leech-lover…shit, I wasn`t too sure." I growled lowly at the name. Although we were on pretty good terms with the Cullen`s, I still have mixed feelings. At least Leah was happy with her imprint, EJ.

Sighing and taking a seat at the table, I ran my fingers through my short hair and leaned back in my seat. "Ah, have more confidence in me, Paul."

Still sitting on the floor, Leah`s brow raised. "I sometimes doubt that…."

"You dare doubt your alpha-ack!" I glared at the she-wolf when she threw the spatula at my gut. The rest seemed to hackle at the scene as I huffed. "The respect I get…"

Feeling myself being nudged by the cheeky wolf, "Awe, come on, Jake." Seth spoke cheerfully. "You`re married with your imprint and had babies. No need to frown upon us."

I smiled an nodded at that. He wasn`t wrong of course. I loved them all greatly and was grateful to have them in my life. I wouldn`t trade them in for anything in the world.

"Yeah…you`re right."

OOOOKKKKAAAYYY! That has concluded us on Dead Yet Still Alive. Sad to see it`s over, but happy to see it finished. I didn`t want to leave you guys. I didn however changed Sing Me a Love Song completely. The title is now, Darkness Unfolds. Yes, it`s still an Embry/oc story so if you wanna see the cute little wolf, then go ahead and check it out.
