Final Chapter:

Neptune remained still… not believing the words that her ears heard. Did her ears fail her? Or did she misheard that. Either way, she won't believe what her ears are saying to her. That's impossible right? Totally impossible. How can he...

"What? Haha… You must be really sick! I'll go and get Compa so you can be healed!"

"Neptune…! GA!" Jared struggles, and holds half of his face. The pain in he's head increases some more.

"Jared…! But that's just impossible right? You're just sick with headache right?"

"No I'm not…! Gh…! Ever since I got here… I've always have this headaches…! Gh!"

" 'Got'? What do you mean 'got'?"

"I came from a different dimension…!"

"A different dimension? Isn't that science fictiony"

"That's the only reason why I appeared from out of the blue in Celestia…!"

"…!"

"…It's the only reason why both of us started with a deal…!"

Now that she thinks about it, since she got her memories back, no one is allowed in Celestia other than a few important boring people. She remembered that some high end officials from the higher echelon came just for a quick meeting with Noire.

If Jared was someone important then wouldn't he be recognized by the other three? And if he weren't then how did he get there?

That doubt slipped off of her mind, partly because she doesn't want something to get in the way of her relationship with him. Partly because she was afraid of the answer she will hear from him. And it wasn't because of she can't trust what he says, it's just that she may not stomach what's going to happen next.

"Why…?"

"haa… haa… haa…!"

"Why didn't you tell me sooner…?"

"…"

He didn't answer. He knew that Neptune will do something about it. If anything he's damned happy about it. But the thing that kept him back from saying it is just this ending was set in stone. He knew it, he's stay here is not permanent. Nightmares after nightmares, those are enough to trigger he's alarm.

That is why he made a conscious effort to leave everything without any loose ends. And the only loose ends that he has are his relationships. His gang, his friends, his lover. Those three things were the only ones that he had problem with.

He disbanded his gang not so long ago. It was during the drinking party that he announced it. Most of them were in shock, and most understand he's decision. The gang was already able to stand up on their own two feet. After all, that gang was just made just so the members in it can lean on each other and on their boss.

Most of the gang took it bitterly but most honorably thanked him for everything he's done to them.

The friends he made here are all dear to him. He was thankful to any omnipotent being out there for blessed with such caring unconditional friends. Most of them, if not all of them, have taken an interest in him despite the lost cause. And because of that, he asked Histy to tell them the news.

-Right now, they're probably shock to hear it as well.

And what remained is Neptune….

"Why didn't you tell me sooner! I-I'll go get Histy…!" Neptune attempts to transform as she stands, but was stopped when her hand felt another.

"haa… haa.. Ghh…! There's nothing we can do…"

"We've got to try…!"

"No… Neptune… even she tried to find a solution…!"

"Bu- But…!"

"We can't stop it now…! Guah! Gawd, that hurts!"

"How can you say that? Why are you giving up?!"

"…"

"WHY?! *hic!* *hic!*… Why are you giving up…! *sob!*" Neptune falls on her knees, tears streaming from her eyes. And a childish cry escapes from her.

"Why…! *sob!* *hic!*… I thought…! I thought you'll always be with me…!"

"*sob!* I thought you said you'll say those words for me…!"

"…I've been waiting you know…! I've been waiting for you to say those words for me! *hic!* WAAAAAA!"

Neptune hits him, it was light. But her words hit him harder. He never promised her to be with her forever, instead he warned her about it back in Lastation. It was a long time ago, and he couldn't blame her for forgetting.

"…" he can't answer. Rather, he couldn't. The pain in he's head is far more stronger than the tears of her girlfriend. It was irritating… He wants to comfort her. And yet he can't say a thing to her.

"haa… haa… haa…"

The cry of the woman he loves, he reaches towards her cheeks. She wipes the tears off, as she still cries. He struggles to push himself towards her. It was as if he was carrying the whole world on his shoulders. But he moves on… finding that one sensation that wants to feel after all this.

"Mn…"

Just like before, and as any other times, the two kissed. It was gentle, gentler than he had done. Her lips were kinda salty, but he doesn't mind.

She hugs him strongly, not wanting to let go. Not wanting to let the man he loves to disappear.

Jared holds her face, carving the taste of her lips into heart. Not wanting to forget every single moment of it.

Again and again they both seek each other. The memories that they've spent together, all of them replayed inside their heads clearly as if watching a movie.

All of the things they've spent with each other. He carved everything on his heart. He carved her warmth, her smile, her taste, her hugs, her laugh, her tears, her tantrums and her love.

"Hey… give me a smile…" when they separated, Jared requested such.

"B-But…!"

"I'll just be taking a picture…" he pulls out his cellphone and opened the camera app.

"Please…?"

She smiled a tear stained smile. It was a smile that was picturesque. It was a smile so lovely. It was a smile that brings his tears to slowly fall. He points the camera at her, hesitating to snap the picture.

He also asked why? Why did was he being punished like this? Why can't he be with this amazing girl? It was so unfair. Why couldn't 'the world' pick someone else? Why was it always him? It so unfair! WHY!?

He silently cries those questions. He's other hand reaches for her cheek. Her smile didn't falter as she feels it. Her tears still flow.

"Neptune…"

His vision still slowly turns into static, as if the signal is getting bad.

"…don't see the world as it is…"

His ears have started ringing as if he was already surrounded by televisions.

"…but see the world…"

His tears overwhelmed him and he silently cries aloud. He cries to all the unfairness. He damns them in his tears. He damns the end of the long, long sweet dream.

"*hic!* as it should be…!"

*SNAP!*

The world became silent. Neptune kept silent. Those last words of his were not fair. She tries to stand up but her knees must've fallen asleep. She stares into space blankly. As if waiting for him to come back and say it was all a big fat joke. Aah, wouldn't that be funny. She would definitely laugh. And cry at the same time.

"…He didn't kept his other promise…" Neptune's eyes falls on the gift bag.

She reaches out and grabs it. It was bulky but it was also quite squeezable, like it there were some clothes inside it.

Wait… clothes?

Neptune reaches inside the gift bag and pulled out one of its contents. And in front of her, was a silky frilly lilac dress. No, it was gown, a very beautiful gown. A gown that she had her eye one back then in Leanbox.

…It was a wedding dress…

"…"

She quickly scrambles for the bag and peered inside that there was another. But that was not all. There was a small box inside it. She retrieves the object inside and opens it.

"…!"

Inside were two lilac colored rings. One of them were plain, the other has small purple diamonds that sparkle brilliantly. There was a small rolled up paper inside it as well. She takes a hold of it, and reveals the message…!

"…!"

She could not believe her eyes. And the tears begin to well up in her eyes once more. But she resisted the urge to do so. Neptune takes the diamond filled one and puts it on her ring finger. It was a perfect fit for her. She hugs the dress, smelling it contents.

"Yes, you bully…!"

-I'll be waiting…
