Hi, how are you doing?

I know that it has been a long time since the last time that I updated one of my fics but, in the last two weeks I have been really busy with class in the morning and in the evening and, when I come back home I was really tired.

Chapter 23: killing Bambi

Matt and Gabby were fast asleep on Gabby's bed. She was lying on her side with her back pressed against his chest and his arms encircled around mid section protectively. A single sheet was the only thing that was protecting their naked bodies of the cold morning of Chicago.

Matt was the first one who woke up. At first, he was a little disorientated but all his confusion went away as soon as he saw that Gabby was fast asleep next to him with her head pressed against his shoulder. He looked down and realized that both of them were still naked and he could feel her soft skin against his. He could not resist the urge of running his fingers around her perfect mocha skin. Slowly, his fingers travelled from her neck ending on her lower back. He downed his head and started to plant smalls and sweets kisses all over her bare back. She moved a little bit on his embrace and got closer to him.

"Hey" she said some seconds later. Her eyes were still closed and she had a big smile on her face as the memories of the previous night came to her mind

He planted one last kiss on the blade of her shoulder "Hey" he said with hoarsely voice "you, okay?"

"Better than okay" she turned around with the sheets tucked around her body and faced him "And, you?"

"I am great" and he pressed his lips against hers

"You know, right now I can really use a good shower" what happened the last time that she asked him if he wanted to shower with her came to her mind but, she didn't pay attention to it. "Do you want to join me?"

He smiled her seductively and unexpectedly, he carried her in his arms and walked to the bathroom with the sheet still tangled around their bodies "I thought that you were not going to ask it to me" he said funny.

Inside of the bathroom, he let her sat on the toilet and he went to the shower for letting that the water could start running so when they jumped inside of the shower the water was not so cold.

In all the process, she could not take her eyes out of him. He was completely naked in front of her and she took the opportunity of study closely his body. Last night, she had the opportunity of feel his soft skin under her hands whereas that morning it was her change of memorize each inch of his body, each of the freckles that covered his back.

"Are you enjoying the views?" he joked facing her. She did not say anything; she just blushed immediately when she saw that he had caught her looking at him. He laughed and kneeled in front of her "You are not going to need that for the shower"

She looked down and saw that she still had tangled around her body the bed sheets. She smiled shyly and slowly, he started to remove the sheet out of her body; he did not want to scary her with his movement and he also wanted to give her the opportunity of stopping him.

When they sheet was removed completely of her body, he dropped it on the floor and stared her on her face a couple of seconds before his eyes were down looking over all her bare body. She bitted her lower lip feeling a little insecure of being completely naked in front of Matt. Her first reaction was to cover her breast as better as she could with her arms but, Matt's voice stopped her.

"You are beautiful, Gabriela Dawson" he said looking her to her eyes.

He offered her one of his hand and helped her to get up of the toilet. He placed his hands on her hips and with a smile on his lips he guided her to the inside of the shower. As soon as both of them were under the hot water, they hugged with their chest pressed and share a tender kiss. Gabby's hand travelled to the behind of his neck whereas Matt rested his hands on her hips.

Inside of the shower, they made love again while the warn water was running over their bodies, which was giving them more intimacy. In contrast with the previous night, that time each of them took their own time to find what exited the other, exploring their bodies and discovering which their sweat spots were.

The next mooring, Matt was sat on a bench of the hallway of the headquarters together with Boden. Chief Boden had called him early in the morning for telling him that both of them had to show up on the headquarters.

Since it was really early when he had to let Gabby's house, he decide to let her a note saying what was going on instead of waking her up.

"You okay?" Boden asked looking to Matt "you look tired"

"Yeah" Matt answered with a soft smile on his lips "I didn't sleep really well last night" he lied. In reality, he spends part of the night making out with Gabby and talking hugged to her inside of the bed. "What are we doing here, chief?" Matt asked frightened that the reason why they were there could be related with what happened one and a half month ago.

"I don't know" Boden said and saw his concerned face "Hey, you have nothing to worry about, alright?"

"So, it is not related with-"

"No" Boden cut him "I told you, your psychiatrist and doctor did a report explaining that you suffered a food poisoning"

"I know but, what if Phil decided to report the truth to the headquarters?" He asked

"I am sure that he didn't do something like that" Boden said. However, in his inside he thought that there was a change that Phil did it just for ruining Matt's career as a firefighter but, he did not want to scary him.

"You can pass now" a middle age women said from her office.

Boden gave her a single nod; both men got up of their seats and walked straight to the office. Boden knocked on the door and waited for a respond

"Come in" Boden opened the door and Matt followed him to the inside of the room "Take a seat" the Deputy district Chief Jones said. He was sat behind his desk reading some reports. "Thanks for coming" he greeted them with a hand shake

"What can we do for you, chief?" Boden asked

"I don't have a lot of time so, I am going to get to the point. Look, our PR director is leaving. When he's gone, Rebecca will have a nice job waiting for her here" After hearing that, Matt let out a long deep breath. They were not there because of him.

"Chief, she's no problem at 51" Boden said

"Yeah. We're all really glad that she's there" Matt added. It was not true that everyone was happy of having her in the firehouse but, they would get used to it.

"Are you marry, Lieutenant?" Matt shocked his head "do you have a daughter?" Matt shocked his head "But, do you plan to have kids, right?" this time Matt nodded with a small smile on his lips. He could not understand why Chief Jones was asking him those questions until he asked him the next one "Would you want your only daughter to be a firefighter?"

Matt know that it was too soon but, in his mind a image of young woman with a mix of features of Gabby and his came to his mind. In that moment, he understood the worries of the Deputy district Chief Jones. He was hundred per cent sure that at first he would deny to help her to become a firefighter since he know who dangerous the job is. However, it would be her decision not his.

"She wanted to go to the academy, get on a truck. She's been to the academy. She's been on a truck. But we're done now" Chief Jones continued saying after some seconds of silence

"When is she being transferred?" Boden asked

"Next month. And I need your help. You need to DQ her. Use whatever you want, but give her the boot. She won't transfer if it comes from me"

"Isn't this a decision that she should make?" Matt asked

"Not really"

"I really think that if you give her some time-" Matt said trying to explain his point

"Look, I'll say it one more time. She's moving over to headquarters" He said

"Alright" Boden said before Matt could say another word. He got up of his chair and Matt followed him; they walked to the door without saying another word.

"Are we really gonna do this?" Matt asked as soon as they got away of the headquarters of the CFD

"Her father is Deputy District Chief. He could make me work in PR if he wanted to" Boden said

"But, it's gonna be like killing Bambi" Matt said and rubbed his face with his hands "she new on the job but, she good. I am sure"

"You have his office number. You are welcome to give him a call if you like wherever you want" Boden said

"Alright, I will let you know if she does something inappropriate" Matt said before starting walking to his car. He was not happy with what they were going to do but, it was an order from a superior and they could not do anything about it.

"Matt, wait" Boden's voice stopped him. He turned around and faced his chief "I wanted to ask something long time ago" Matt gave him a nod of head and Boden continued talking "How are you doing?"

Matt shrugged and said "I am fine"

"Do you continue talking with you psychiatrist? Or with someone?"

"No. I am telling you chief, I am fine"

"Will you let me know if something happen?"

"Of course" he gave him a smile "See you tomorrow, chief"

Boden looked him walking to his car not really sure of Matt's answer. It was true that in the last couple of weeks he looked to be happier however, he still worried about his young Lieutenant and all that he wanted was to be sure that he was fine.

Rebecca was sat on a plastic chair inside of McLeod's office waiting that she showed up. She bitted her lower lip and thought about what she was doing there. McLeod had asked her to go to her office so she could give her some information about her new partners.

"I'm sorry I made you wait" McLeod said as she entered in the office

"It's okay" Rebecca said shyly.

"So, have you met your new partners yet?" She asked and Jones answered her with a single nod "Good" she took a folder and gave it to her "here is some information about your Lieutenant, Matthew Casey and the squad Lieutenant, Kelly-"

"Severide" Jones added

"Yeah, that one" McLeod said smiling "In the firehouse fifty-one, there are prescription drugs missing off of the ambulance sixty-one, and about the Sq. Lieutenant, he was involve in a Scandal. Here it is the Sexual harassment lawsuit" she said and showed Rebecca the report "Besides, he and Lieutenant Casey, were involve to in a questionable on-duty death"

"And?" Rebecca asked not knowing why she was showing her those reports

"That is not all. I spoke with someone and that person confirmed me that Lieutenant Casey tried to commit suicide one and a half month ago"

"What? Rebecca asked shocked. She cold have never image that the blonde lieutenant that she met a couple of days ago could have tried to do something like that.

"He swallowed a bottle of pills. However, I am sure that his buddies as well as his doctor decided to hide it. So, there is no medical report. I need you to find out of this was or not true"

"But, how I am going to do something like that?" Jones asked shocked

"I don't mind how you do it as long as you do it"

"this is crazy" Jones said and got up of her chair "I am sorry but, I am not going to do it" she grabbed her purse and walked straight to the door

"It comes to my ears that your father is trying to get you DQ" McLeod said

"What?" Jones asked turning around to face her

"Yeah, He wants you off the job, and he's doing everything he can to make sure you get stuck behind a desk"

"No way"

"He is planning to do it and that is why I proposed you this deal. I know that you're going to be a firefighter that a superior can count on the future. I saw your marks in the academy and I have to say that they are great" she made a pause and continued saying "So, the thing is that if you help me now, I would help you on the future when you father wants to stuck you behind a desk"

The next shift, Matt and Gabby decided to go in the same car to the firehouse. They thought that if they showed up early, nobody will notice that they had arrived together.

"What's up?" Gabby asked looking to him.

"Nothing" but he seemed to be distract

"I know you, Matt. I know that there is something on your mind" she made a pause and added "Is about the meeting that you had in the headquarter with Boden the other day?" He had not said a word about what happened and, she did not pushed him to talk about it.

"I don't want to talk about it"

"alright, you know where to find me if you want to talk" She rested her hand on his thing and he grabbed her hand

"Thanks"

Then, he looked around the parking for seeing if there was anyone who could see them but, her car was the only one there. He smiled and crushed his lips against her.

"I love you" he murmured against her lips

"I love you too" She said.

"Wait" he said when he saw that she had grabbed the handle of the door "There is still some time and, I wanted to tell you something" she turned and faced him with a smile on her lips "The last couple of days has been great" he started "and I know what I am going to say could sound a little corny but, I am in love of you Gabriela Dawson" Gabby gave him her best smile and hold her hand "Thanks to you, I am feel like the old Matt, the one that I used to be a couple of months ago. And all of that is thanks to you" he made a pause and he could dare to say that his cheeks were turning red. In that moment he could not avoid to feel ridiculous for what he had just said "I just wanted to let you know it"

Gabby did not say anything; she just passed her arms around his neck and pressed him closer to her. Their lips met a few seconds later in a tender kiss. A couple of seconds later, their tongues were batting inside of their mouths for the control of the kiss.

"I love you" she said after breaking the kiss owing to need of oxygen. Her lips were still crushed against his.

"God, I am not sure if I am gonna be able of keep my hands out of you during the next 24 hours" he joked

"Well, it is a good thing that you have you own office" Gabby told him at the time that she smirked.

"what on that mind of yours?"

"Don't worry baby, you are gonna find out in a couple of hours" and without saying another word, she jumped out of her car and started walking to the firehouse.

"God, this is gonna be a long shift" and he jumped out of the car and walked to the firehouse.
