A/N: I've had computer trouble and I've just gotten it back from being serviced, school is starting in the coming week so this will be my last chapter for a while unfortunately. I have a poll on my profile, I've been getting really into the legend of Korra lately and I really want to do a crossover story for Naruto and Korra. Tell me if you would be interested in either poll or review form please.

Naruto began making preparations for his mission well after sundown, all but fully exhausted having been awake for more than thirty two hours now. He consulted with Ryan to learn as many detail about American military tactics and procedures in order to make sure his persona would be convincing. It was clearly evident that Ryan was disappointed in himself for his inability to join the mission. Naruto assured him that he needed him a great deal in this moment. Ryan was perhaps the only person that was more than just competent. Right now, Naruto needs Ryan to carry himself as the soldier he was trained to be. If Ryan stays beyond the duration of this mission and does not decide to locate other operating military personnel on his own, Naruto will need help training the new members of the camp into fit survivalists. Eventually, each member will have to know how to survive on their own. It won't take much longer for Ryan's arm to heal completely, and there is a great role for him to fill when it does. Something he would have to think about when he was told that Naruto will not be with them forever, not that he elaborated on the subject.

These are the things to come in the near future. But for now there is a mission at hand. A legend that can move mountains; this world is going to learn of one very soon. Uzumaki Naruto: Mission Start.

In the cover of darkness Naruto makes his way over to Woodbury. There is no moon tonight and the only thing to guide Naruto in the blackness is his muscle memory. This is preferable as it will make his final approach easier, unseen by walkers of the sentries stationed at the gates. Naruto picks up the speed but comes to an abrupt realization just as he is nearly half way there. If the members of Woodbury have already discovered the sabotaged weapons cache then the camp will be on high alert for any trespassers and traitors. They would also be suspicious of anyone that were to approach the camp and wouldn't allow them in when they are not as fortified. Sick minds tend to be analytical and when coupled with a façade of a public leader, highly suspicious.

"Shit, I can't believe I made this mistake. Even if I do take the appearance of military personnel, which I already know this guy doesn't care for, I doubt they'll accept me. I could gamble on whether or not the people inside the camp will want that presence there for the extra protection, or if the paranoia if the guy in charge will drive me out. If they haven't found the cache already and I do get on the inside, then they will automatically assume it was me. Fuck, this is irritating, I can't believe I made such a blunder."

Naruto doesn't slow down as he weighs his options. Being able to expose this person is vital to capturing this camp with as little bloodshed as possible. Combining the two groups together would be a huge gain for humanity. Woodbury being a place of healing and a haven for the human spirit. The prison being the fallback in case they were to be overrun, they would know exactly where to go, and have a shelter as they seek out other areas for settlement. In time, what can transpire here could prove the counterstrike that gives this world its edge.

Naruto finally arrives at Woodbury at roughly three in the morning, and he hides himself in the trees at about thirty five yards away from the gates. The whole time he spent trying to figure out what to do was fruitless. For the time being, as much as he hates to admit it, he will have to simply be patient and observe. He watches the guards pace back and forth, and notices there are four more guards placed at the front than last time.

"They vamped up the security. Well I guess that's a good sign considering my options. I definitely didn't want them to find the cache after I go in. I could hang out around here for a few days then make my appearance, it shouldn't look as suspicious that way. I'll just take a look around to make sure they definitely noticed it. If they did I'll keep an eye on things here while staying out of site for the next few days. Ugh, tiptoeing around these people is going to be a pain in the ass. I'll probably sleep on the roof tops at night and fast in the meantime. I want ramen."

Naruto stealthily surveys the camp, careful to stay out of the search lights they have on at every gate, another precaution they've added since his visit last night. Every gate has guards armed with whatever guns Naruto didn't find, but some guards are at watch with bows and arrows. Thinking that this is also due to the lack of weaponry by his handiwork, Naruto finally decides to scope out the cache. Not being able to find a spot that the guards aren't able to see through their peripheral vision, Naruto recedes into the tree line.

"Hmm, I could probably move fast enough to where they wouldn't see me in their peripheral but I might wind up making enough noise to get their attention. It'll probably be fine though. I can't help but wonder if I can't do this a little more creatively. As dark as it is those lights won't spot me in the air if they're only pointed at the ground. So if I can send myself flying over far enough to make it to the closest roof then I should go completely unnoticed. I'll have to get high enough though and be able to push myself that far. Let's see if all that meditating did anything for me."

Naruto had been feeling a lot stronger as of late, and after waking up from finally being able to get some sleep from last night's recon his chakra network has been stimulated even more so. If he had to guess where his level were at, he would say about the same level he was when he first graduated from the academy. Not much but more than enough to resurrect his signature move. Crossing his fingers to form the familiar hand seal, he mutters inaudibly:

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu." A single, perfect copy of Naruto, with the absence of his blade, appears next to him in a cloud of smoke, crouched on the tree branch he sits perched on. It stares back at him with a face splitting grin, which Naruto realizes is only mimicking his own. "You ready for this?" He asks his clone.

"You better believe it, dattebayo."

"Cut it out."

"Don't tell me how to live." Before Naruto gets into a full blown argument with himself, he rolls his eyes and turns around to climb up higher on the tree and his clone follows. They come up to the last branch capable of supporting their combined weight, roughly about twenty feet from the top of the tree, nearly eighty feet from the ground. The tree itself is a species of pine that was specifically chosen given that its pine needles will make the least amount of noise when disturbed. Naruto removes his Executioners Blade and hands it to his clone, who then secures it by cutting into the tree with it. Without looking behind him, Naruto motions for his clone to go ahead of him. The clone climbs over Naruto carefully, and crouches down to get a better look at the branch.

After figuring out the timing for its steps, both it and Naruto put their masks on, then it takes off with Naruto exactly two and a half steps behind it before it jumps with all its strength nearly forty feet into the air and only around twenty feet out. Near the height of the jump where weightlessness is felt, the clone tucks its knees into its body and spins as hard as it can. By the time Naruto comes up above it, which is only a fraction of a second later, the clones has already spun dozens of times. Getting the timing just right, the instant Naruto comes down he lands perfectly on the feet of the clone and immediately push off each other, send Naruto sailing through the air like a missile. In just a moment the clone lands back on a tree branch to watch its handiwork. As Naruto moves out of its field of vision, it returns to collect his master's Blade. Prior to his creation, Naruto put the task in his head to patrol the surrounding area until morning to keep an eye on any enemy activity.

Naruto flies through the air silently. As he approaches the rooftop for a landing he tucks his knees into his body to roll forward. Just as he senses the rooftop closing in he shoots out his arms, straightening out his body but not perfectly, with an arch, and pushes up off the roof with a great deal of strength to keep his momentum from completely dying to avoid making any noise. He skids and tries to regain his footwork and frantically tries to regain his footwork as he nearly falls over the edge.

"Ugh that was close. Unnecessary sure, but I figured it'd be fun." Naruto wipes the sweat off his forehead with his arm and listens out to hear if any guards might have noticed him. Not seeing any movement from his new perch, he relaxes just a bit. "Alright, over the wall unnoticed… now what? Oh right, let's see what this guy is up to now. Wait, hold on a second." Naruto pauses as a sudden realization dawns on him.

"I placed a paper bomb under his bed last night. I should've just waited to see if he was going to sleep alone that night. That way no one would ever be able to figure out the cause of the explosion and it would have looked like a freak accident with no innocent bystanders getting harmed. The bombs aren't especially powerful anyway and it's more force than it is flames. Fuck, fuck, fuck! I hate how stupid I can be sometimes! And I call myself a master prankster?! Ugh forget it. Maybe I'll luck out tonight. If I can kill him without anyone finding out how or who did it, this can be a whole lot easier.

I don't know what his subordinates are like but the ones closest to him are bound to take command. There'll probably be a power struggle. Depending on how stupid they are they'll definitely fight over it if they don't realize how good they have it here. Even so, I can't imagine that this whack job is all that great to his subordinates. His instability would flare up at some point and if they've tolerated him up till now even after the fact, then he commands just the right balance of fear and respect from him. Even so, they should be glad he's gone, unless they are just as crazy as he is, though crazies don't always get along anyhow. Well whatever, I have my options, let me at least check to see if there's anyone else in his room. If there isn't I'll set it off if not… I'll have to think about it. I swear being the good guy can be the most inconvenient thing in the world."

Naruto takes a look around to see find the apartment that contains the mausoleum decapitated walker heads he discovered the previous night. Spotting the building he hops over three building down, then climbs down the back of it down to the nearest window. Seeing that it only gave a view of the hallway that leads to the room, he decides entering from that end is a greater risk than necessary. He climbs back up to the roof and moves over to the opposite end and peers down the side of the building. Despite the risk, Naruto has to climb down the front of the building in order to get a view of the bedroom. Climbing down swiftly and quietly to the bottom of the ledge of the window sill, Naruto holds onto it with one hand while holding his body up. Conveniently the window is open due to the heat but the curtains are closed for privacy. Naruto parts the curtain as little as possible, just enough to peek inside.

"I don't know what I was expecting… I can't see shit." Too dark to see, Naruto crawls into the apartment slowly, as silently as possibly, not making a sound. He stays low to the ground like a predator stalking prey in tall grass. He looks up and rises slowly to get a look on the left side of the bed. He comes face to face with a woman with wavy locks, sound asleep.

"Fuck, as much as I hate to admit it, she'll have to be a casualty if I can end this tonight." Naruto crawls around to the other side of the bed to confirm that his target is there as well. Creeping up to the other side, he finds that half of the bed to be empty.

"Fucking shit, huge opportunity missed. Whatever, I'll stake out the place and take him out when he gets back. Even so, where could he be at this time of night? Oh right, where else would he be?" Realizing that his target must be investigating the cache across town. To make sure this is the case, Naruto carefully crawls on all fours and makes his way back out of the window and climbs back on top of the roof. Looking across the way, Naruto takes a few steps back to get a running start.

Naruto makes his way over to the abandoned building that the gladiator fights were held, and where the cache is kept, by jumping clear across the street in the air under the cover of darkness. Even after ones eye adjusts to what little light is given off by the stars, Naruto is still too fast to be noticed. Besides, not many people notice what goes over their heads anyhow.

"I want to know who took our weapons. I want to know who in the fuck destroyed every single firearm in our armory! Who was on guard?" A tall man wearing a dark pair of tattered jeans, hiking boots, and leather vest demands answers from two subordinates who have the area lit with torches. Neither of them could offer him a satisfying answer.

"I mean the both of us were in the fight last night. There's really no telling when it happened either." One of the subordinates, one missing a hand, countered to the aggravation of his boss.

"Who was supposed to do the inventory this morning?"

"If I'm not mistaken, it was supposed to be that piece of tail you've been nailing. I guess she didn't care for you sniffing around that new blonde." Before his response can effectively piss off his boss, the other subordinate interjects.

"It was probably that chick with the sword. She had messed around here when she killed the walkers we had stored here." The older of the two subordinates, who is missing a hand and has a metal sleeve over the stump, offers in attempt to appease the boss's frustration.

"We would've noticed if the cache was tampered with when we went out to replace the walkers. It couldn't have been her." The other subordinate replies, dismissing that theory.

"She had all day today to go and do whatever she wanted before she left. Plenty of time get in here, and those guns were cut really cleanly. She's the only one that could have done that!" The tallest of the three, the most imposing and the one that was with the blonde woman in the bleachers last night. It seems that his impatience may get the better of him.

"Martinez and I will head up two search parties to find her first thing in the morning. We'll find her Governor." The Governor grabs Meryl by his bad arm and looks down on him, close enough for Meryl to see the fire from the torches reflecting in his eyes.

"You had better find her, and bring her back to me dead or alive, or you can forget about trying to find your brother Meryl." The Governor storms off past Martinez and Meryl. They share a look without saying anything and soon follow after the Governor. Meryl was left with a feeling of dread that rarely able to get a hold on him psychologically. Meryl hates it, but has yet to find an answer for it and given his handicap, it is doubtful that he ever will without out right shooting him. Martinez had been an Army Ranger in a past life but that was long before the outbreak hit. He's used to taking orders, even if he doesn't like them. He prefers someone else taking the lead and as long as he's taken care of he won't complain, provided the Governor doesn't completely lose his mind somehow.

Naruto overheard the entire conversation from the rooftop. The information proves to be invaluable. He's confirmed his target definitively. Now that he knows that the Governor couldn't have known about the sabotage until earlier this evening, and the fact that there is already a prime, plausible suspect, Naruto can formulate a fitting strategy.

"I'll follow this guy around tonight, if he heads back to his apartment, I'll set off the charges. I don't like it, but it has to be done. The others will probably think that the woman with the sword was responsible for it too, at least, that'll be the first thought that crosses their minds. Tomorrow I'll approach with a group of clones disguised as military personnel saying that we wanted to investigate the explosion since we've been waiting around trying to rendezvous with that company Ryan was talking about. The general public should be willing to accept our presence there even if they don't necessarily expect or want us to stay on a long term basis. I could convince them to let us stay giving them extra security, and down the road, introduce the groups at the prison with Woodbury and vice versa. No one will suspect a thing and it all ties together in a neat little bow. Perfect.

If not, I'll make another clone and they'll each follow a party and see what they turn up. The one waiting outside will probably think to follow one of them, especially after being joined by another. I'll keep an eye on things here. Don't think I can send any kind of word out to the prison if I'm spread that thin though. I only have so much range with my clones right now. I'll have to be extra cautious in the morning though. I can't exactly just transform into a random person, this community is too close knit for that to work. Hmm, if anything I'll just use a henge to blend in with the environment. Hell I managed that much before I even made Gennin. If I can't see anything to go on then I'll just have to sit back for a few days and hopefully the Governor won't kick us out if I approach the camp, he'll need our guns if anything so it's worth a shot. Alright let's do it."

With a plan in mind Naruto sets it into motion by following after the Governor, jumping from roof to roof staying well behind him but always able to see him with his bird's eye view. All that's left to do is see how the night plays out.

It's nearly morning and Naruto has spent all night watching the Governor who never returned to his apartment, much to Naruto's frustration. He may just live to regret his lack of foresight. The Governor spent the entire night helping with the guard, making sure that this woman he suspected didn't make her way back in the middle of the night. He would sometimes patrol the gates and other times inspect the more vulnerable areas of the perimeter that weren't as fortified or heavily surveyed. Once daylight breaks, the two search parties are at the gates ready to take off on foot waiting for the Governor to give the word. They're made up of four members each lead by Meryl and Martinez. Naruto, hiding atop the Governor's apartment, makes his clone and orders it to regroup with the other one that should still be hiding in the forest nearby west of the front gate. It takes a look around the area making sure it's clear of any witnesses and then takes off into the forest. Naruto won't be able to spy on the Governor in the day time, so he'll have to restrict himself to staying on this side of the town. Once his clones dissipate, he'll know how to proceed from there with the new information they'll give him.

The parties split into two different directions into the woods, east and west, and the clones followed after them. They each move and great speeds to catch up to them and their fleet of foot is silent even as they traverse the woodland floor. The trees in some areas are too closely bunched together, trying to move between them would make too much noise and even still, almost impossible to see through with how dense the forest gets. After getting them in their sights they hang back fifteen meters and stalk silently, only wanting to observe.

The original clone Naruto made went after the party lead by Meryl. With Meryl there is a skinny Asian man with a pencil thin mustache, a guy in a bandanna wrapped around his forehead with a beard, and a kid about seventeen years old with curly hair with a sandy tan complexion. The clone follows them for a couple of hours before they come to a stop. Noticing this, the clone halts its advance and climbs into the trees to hide himself in the thick leaves while barely maintaining a view of the group, just trying to keep himself out of sight while being able to see what they see.

"Well what in the hell do we have here?" the clone hears Meryl ask out loud in a mixture of mild astonishment and amusement. The others examine what appears to be a mutilated body of a walker, its limbs dismembered from its body laid out in a sort of sequence on the forest floor. The clone can barely see it through the leaves and can tell it was left there purposely, most likely by the woman the group is looking for. It can't be sure, but the clone thinks that the woman probably realized that she was being followed some time ago.

"Go back." the teenager answers, and the others look to him for an elaboration. The clone listens intently, wanting to make sense of what it sees. "The arms make a 'G', the legs are an 'O', and then there's the back. 'Go back.'" This gets a chuckle from Meryl finding it amusing.

"Well what d'you know? Miss Michionne sent us a biter gram!" Just as he's finished laughing, Meryl sees something off in the distance out of the corner of his eye. He draws his gun at the ready and the others do the same. The figure didn't escape the clones notice and realized it was a woman with a sword on her back. "What's it gonna be Michionne? You gonna hide in the woods and jump out of the bush and take us all down? All of us armed to the teeth?" Meryl mocks challengingly.

The clone narrowed its eyes behind its mask. It followed the person's movement the entire time and saw her climb up behind a massive tree silently, going completely unnoticed by the group. He watches her jump down, katana drawn, and immediately decapitates the nearest person, the man with the bandana. The Asian man tries to draw his gun but the woman moves in on him and stabs him through the lung. She uses the man as a shield while Meryl tries to shoot her as she retreats. The teenager simply stands back in shock after seeing the decapitation of the group member. The woman ditches the human shield and runs off deeper into the forest but she's grazed by a bullet from Meryl's gun. It was a good strategy, the clone thinks. She just happened to be unlucky is all. Guerilla warfare is based on hitting fast in an ambush and retreating quickly, but usually done in a small team. Really, she did as well as anyone could on their own. The clone is impressed. It would have intervened but it's been alive for a while now and is running low on chakra. His task is simply to observe the enemy's movement for now.

What the clone didn't expect to see was Meryl killing the only other living member of his party. It seemed odd that he wanted to return without confirming the kill and he seemed convinced to confirm it after the teenager made a compelling argument, just before he was shot in the head with a bullet, courtesy of Meryl. As crazy as the aquarium of walker heads was, Meryl is clearly no better. It made no tactical sense and in the clone's opinion, did little in the way of self-preservation. Clearly this man would need to be dealt with down the line, but for now it would be best just to follow him as he chases of Michionne.

'Shit I need to hide, I can't run anymore with my leg like this.' Luckily for Michionne she had already put some distance between herself and Meryl. She makes it out of the forest and comes to a small street with various stores and outlets long since and riddled with abandoned cars and debris. She heads down the grassy hill to the nearest building, limping painfully as her leg bleeds slowly as it throbs with each step. Just as she reaches the corner she pauses in attempt to catch her breath and slow down her heart rate even just a little. She knew of this place due to he travels and purposely went the long way around when she knew she had put enough distance between her and her pursuers. She checks her corners, always.

A young Asian man and young woman exit a vehicle, they share a quick kiss. Taking out a pair of pliers the man cuts the chain on the nearest door. They enter the grocery store after surveying the immediate area. A few minutes later Michionne sees them exist the store with a basket filled with nothing but baby formula. They chat, reminiscing about the old day when they hear a click behind them.

"Where is it you people call it home?" They turn around, aiming their drawn weapons, to see Meryl aiming down the sights of his hand gun.

"Meryl?" The Asian man asks in disbelief. Meryl, finally recognizing the man, can't help but laugh and surprisingly, put his weapon on the ground and approached them. Unbeknownst to them, he has a spare tucked away in his pants down his back.

"Back the hell up guy!" Maggie shouts, keeping him in his sights not trusting the man that just drew a gun on them.

"Easy there little missy. I don't mean you no harm." Meryl keeps his grin plastered while he raises his hands in his defense.

"You made it out. You made it out of Atlanta. I can't believe it." Maggie looks between Glenn and the suspicious man, not understanding anything other than the fact that they know each other.

"Hey, is my brother alive?" Meryl asks out of surprisingly genuine concern. Glenn nods his head affirmatively. "Take me to him would ya? I'll call the whole thing even between your people and me, with the whole thing in Atlanta." Glenn shows hesitation, which is something Meryl picks up on, planning his next move, mentally preparing to draw his weapon.

"No, we'll bring Daryl out to meet you."

"Oh come on now, the fact that we found each other is a miracle. You can trust me." Each word out of Meryl's mouth deepens the feeling of dread in Glenn's stomach.

"No! You trust us! You wait here and we'll bring Daryl out to meet you."

"Little shit!" Not liking the direction of the conversation, Meryl pulls out his concealed weapon and fires between the two of them. They split taking cover, and Meryl goes after Maggie, grabbing her and putting his gun to her head. "Don't try anything stupid Glenn. Put your gun down." Glenn obeys not wanting to risk the life of his lover. "Good, now get in the car. We're going for a little ride."

"We're not going back to our camp."

"No, we're going to mine. Get in the car!" Unable to resist, Glenn gets in the driver seat of his vehicle while Meryl forces Maggie into the backseat and closes the door behind him. The engine roars to life as Glenn turns the ignition. He puts it into gear and they drive off slowly, leaving the basket of formula behind.

Once they've cleared the distance and the dust settles, Michionne comes out of hiding, hardly believing her luck or what had transpired. She limps weakly over to the basket of formula.

"What do I do now? I got him off my scent, but I have to find a fortified place to stay for the night. With this blood on me and my exposed wound, I'm bound to get it infected. I don't really care what happens to those two but I need to go back for Andrea. Hopefully I'll be able to show her what this Governor person for what he really is. I don't think I'll be able to do it alone though. Shit, I'm losing blood." Michionne looks down at the formula and picks it up, not seeing any other feasible option. "What is it with people and making babies this time of year?"

Up in the trees Naruto's clone had an excellent view of the whole fiasco. It nearly intervened when it noticed the gun Meryl had in reserve. He only hesitated when he overheard that Daryl is this person's brother! During that moment Meryl had made his move. Nearly exhausted of chakra, any move the clone would have made would have gotten Maggie killed before ultimately phasing out of existence. When he heard that they were going back to Woodbury he found the silver lining.

"It's risky, far from ideal now that Maggie and Glenn have been kidnapped, but there's no way this Meryl character is going to kill them if he's that concerned about his brother. Man that was a surprise. This is a bit much for just a clone, I'm calling up union. But this gives the Original the perfect cover now. Those two are tougher than they look, they're battle hardened, they won't give up the prison in just a night, and the Governor won't head out in the middle of the night to look for it, especially not without his guns. By the time morning comes, he'll have another problem on his hands, and nowhere to hide."

Devising the final details for the insurrection the clone chases after the woman with the dreadlocks and baby formula, jumping out of the trees and into the open air, landing on the nearby rooftop. Spotting the woman, the clone realizes she's in route to the prison already, though it can't be certain if that's intentional just yet. Running out of time, the clone decides to make himself known to her, and jumps down silently, disappearing and reappearing instantly next to, going completely unnoticed be the woman.

"Excuse me Ma'am," the clone says, startling the woman. She stumbles away from him, eyes wide not believing that she could have dropped her guard that low to not notice someone walk up on her. She drops the baby formula and tries to draw her katana. The clone puts his hands up defensively. "Do you need a hand with that?

A/N: alright got it done. Next chapter will be a wait, but things get crazy I promise that much. Tell me what you think and look at my poll if you're interested.
