So…just one date.

Right?

Just one date…

…which then lead to two…three…four…does a double date with another couple count as one? Well, , five…and sixth…

…ah, hell.

The two shared a candlelit dinner alone. Twice. By the tenth date, Ryuko just had to call it.

She and Mako are a item.

Adjusting to regular life after the destruction of the Original Life Fibre and the sad departure of Senketsu took some time, but with Mako, Satsuki, and with all the other allies, Ryuko pulled through just fine. Mako spent way more time with Ryuko than before…mostly on dates as mentioned before. Those dates started out as simple get-to-together's with some other friends, then into something a bit more romantic and just the two, and this lead to present day, a little over seven years later, where Ryuko and Mako had started to share a apartment. All of these improvements were pushed forward by Mako.

Ryuko toyed around with the object in her coat pocket. Now, she wanted to be the one to take it one step further.

"Ryuko!" Mako shouted all excited as she ran to embrace her girlfriend. "Kinda a weird place at a weird time to meet?" She said while looking around the empty parking lot. "Is this some sort of espionage game? Should we use codenames?"

Ryuko shook her head, at the same as clearing her throat. Despite having faced off godlike monsters, this was by far the scariest thing she ever did. "Not this time, Mako. It's something…important." Ryuko put her hands into her pockets. Her right hand fumbled around with the object, trying to get a good grasp on it. Mako did notice, but kept quiet. "I have a question for you."

"Okay." Mako bounced once before settling down.

Ryuko attempted to kneel, but her knee kept shaking. Come on! She survived reentry into Earth, and this was tearing her up? But after a little strain, she managed to get down. Mako's eyes followed the entire time, only making things worse for poor Ryuko to get out the next part. Mako continued to stare.

"Mako-o…" Ryuko started, her arms quivering. "W-wil-l you-u…"

"Sure!" Mako said with a cheer as she reached into Ryuko's pocket and pulled out the ring box. She flipped it open and looked at the ring. She 'ooed' and put on the ebony band with a clear diamond. "I love it!"

"It…was given to me…by Satsuki…" Ryuko got out before being glomped by Mako, leading the two down to the ground.

"Ah." Mako stopped herself from engaging in a all-out kissfest. "I just remembered."

"What?"

Mako reached into between her braless breasts (Oh, how little has changed.) and pulled out another box, opening it to reveal another ebony brand with a clear diamond. "I was going to do it too!"

Ryuko's nerviness faded into amusement as the two played around with their engagement rings for the next hour, before leaving and giving the others the good news.

The child's name is Appusutsu.
