It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm alive, don't worry! Grad school hasn't killed me (yet). This fun little fic came from a prompt on tumblr. Figured I would post it here as well! As usually, let me know your thoughts in the end and if you have any prompts feel free to send them my way ;)
"Lesson one!"
She blinks at her now cleared desk-paperwork littering the floor, the ink pen wrenched from her aching fingers.
She's speechless as her younger sister situates herself on the polished oak and folds her legs under herself. A lengthy scroll cascades down her fingers and lands into Elsa's waiting lap.
"Anna," she starts, pinching the bridge of her nose to compose herself with a deep breath, "what are you doing?"
"Hm?" Her sister chews on the tip of her-Elsa's (and oh, the teeth marks will drive her up the wall, she'll have to find a new favorite pen)-ink pen and taps her chin with a knowing, sly smile.
Elsa frowns. Crosses her arms. Quirks a thin brow.
Anna seems unfazed. She rolls her eyes instead.
"Teaching you to be like everyone else!"
The queen purses her lips.
". . .Like everyone else?"
Anna nods. Scribbles something on her scroll.
"Anna," Elsa sighs, leaning down to pick up the mess on the floor. "I have work to do."
"No you don't, I cleared your schedule! The Queen is unavailable for the rest of the day, if anyone has issues with that they can take it up with me!"
"I-you what? You cleared my schedule? Anna, you can't just do that!"
"Hmm. . .I think I just did," she continues scribbling. "Yup! I did in fact, my lovely and charming older sister, did!"
Elsa nearly groans as she finishes re-stacking the papers onto her desk (she might have to reorganize them later). She didn't have time for this.
"Okay so, lesson num-bah one!" Anna continues, huffing her bangs out of her eyes. "You will take breaks daily!"
Elsa freezes. Blinks. Not sure if she heard her correctly.
"What? Anna, I can't just take breaks whenever I want! I have a kingdom to take care of!"
"Everyone takes breaks. . . besides," Anna places her hands on her hips and stares down at Elsa, "this kingdom won't have a Queen anymore if she works herself to death!"
As Elsa is about to re-situate herself at her desk, Anna hops down and pushes her away from the paperwork.
"Nu-uh, what did I just say!"
"But Anna-"
"No buts! Now. . ." With her tongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth, she crosses off an item on her long long list titled "Things to teach Elsa to be like Everyone Else". "Okay, lesson two!"
Elsa sighs, finding herself massaging the bridge of her nose again lest she get a migraine.
"Slouch," Anna orders.
"Eh. . .pardon?"
Anna raises the highest brow Elsa has ever seen, then taps her foot.
"You know. . .slouch! You're always so stiff Elsa, don't you know how to relax those shoulders? Oh Sven's carrots, I can't believe I have to teach my own sister how to slouch!"
"E-Eh. . .why don't we just skip this lesson. . ." The queen suggests, chewing on her bottom lip.
Anna glances at her list, then shrugs.
"Alright, I guess that one isn't as important," she concurs.
Elsa almost sighs with relief. Almost.
"Okay, lesson three!" She holds out a cone. "Make me a snow cone!"
Elsa's turn to raise a brow.
"Hmm. . .something tells me you wanted an excuse to pull your big sister away from her oh-so-important work just to become your personal snow cone machine. . ."
Anna feigns a gasp, still holding out her empty cone. There's that sly smile again.
"Me? No, never!"
Elsa chuckles and waves her fingers, filling Anna's cone with ice for the fifth time that day.
Oh Anna, never change.
