Here's a new chapter! I watched Maleficent last week! It was good, but I guess it could have been better. Meh.
He means that the Snow Queen is under his control.
The last week went by as a blur. Pitch was sending us more messages and Periwinkle was beginning to refuse going anywhere without us. Every morning, I would wake up with a sinking feeling, as if I had a dream that I couldn't remember.
After a day of homework, I was finally looking forward to my bed. I sighed thanking the Lord that it was Friday and that I could sleep in, although Punzie would probably wake me up at the crack of dawn for more training. Closing my heavy lids, I felt the darkness surrounding me, as if Pitch was in the shadows, ready to strike. I opened my eyes, hoping that I was just being paranoid. My heart was beating a bit faster, but there was no one there. Punzie was asleep on the other bed. All around me was a clear light. I looked towards the window and saw the moon, shining down, calming me. I never saw the moon do that since my first night here.
Sleep, the moon seemed to say in my mind and I instantly fell unconscious.
I stood at a window of a castle. The castle was located in a small fjord, surrounded by mountains. It was very familiar...
"Where am I?" I asked out loud, hoping someone would hear me, I honestly didn't want to fall down the window's ledge.
"The kingdom of Arendelle," a voice said from above. I looked up and spotted the Moon.
His light shone on the window and I peered in.
"Elsa? Pst, Elsa! Wake up, wake up, wake up!" a girl with strawberry blond hair jumped onto a bed.
"Anna... Go back to sleep..." the girl in the bed mumbled.
My visions...
"I can't. The sky's awake so I'm awake so we have to play!" Anna sighed dramatically
"Go play by yourself" little me said and pushed her sister off of the bed.
Anna landed on the ground with an "oof". She sat there stubbornly, until her eyes lit up. Clambering on the bed again, she cracked open her sister's eyes.
"Do you wanna build a snowman?" she asked slyly and Elsa smiled.
I giggled at the memory, knowing that we would have a night of fun.
"Come on!" Anna urged and pulled little me downstairs, while my doppelganger shushed her with a giggle. I followed, with the moon's light behind me.
"Do the magic! Do the magic!" Anna laughed. Little Elsa gestured with her hands and a ball of snow began forming while Anna's eyes widened with wonder.
"Ready?" little Elsa asked and Anna nodded.
Elsa threw her hands up and snow began to fall.
"Watch this!" she exclaimed and stomped the ground, ice forming and turning the room into a skating rind. Anna began laughing as she slid on the ice. The two girls laughed all night as they played in the winter wonderland.
"Can I do that?" I asked the moon, but he was silent. I turned back to the scene in front of me. Anna was jumping on snow stacks that Elsa was making.
"Catch me!" Anna laughed.
"Wait, slow down!" Elsa was desperately making snow stacks when she slipped.
"Whee," Anna jumped with her eyes closed.
"Anna!" Elsa yelled and threw her arms out in a desperate attempt to catch her sister. Instead she hit Anna's head.
I gasped and froze. I almost killed my mother in my life and my doppelganger seemed to have killed her sister.
"I'm a monster," I whispered as the temperature dropped.
"No, you're just a person with unique powers," the moon finally replied.
"But I killed my sister!" I began crying.
"No, she was saved," the moon said.
"I'm a danger to everyone..." I responded.
"Elsa, you might have hurt your sister, but you have also brought her joy. You made her laugh and made her smile. That, Elsa, means you are a true sister," the moon replied and his bright light dazzled my as I was transported to another scene.
"Are you ready everyone?" an older version of myself smiled at a crowd of people. They cheered. With a wave, the fountains beside me were frozen into beautiful tree-like designs. I stamped my foot and a skating rink appeared under everyone's feet. With a laugh, everyone began skating.
"Your powers, Elsa, are like your decisions," the moon said as I watched a talking snowman teaching Anna to skate, "It is how you use your power that makes it beautiful... or dangerous"
Suddenly, I was transported to a ice castle. My ice castle.
"Mr. Moon?" I called, but the bright light was gone.
I looked in front of me and saw the Snow Queen. She looked like the lady who made the ice rink.
"Hello?" I called to her and at the same time she mouthed the word hello.
I reached towards her and she began reaching towards me. My hands met ice. There was a thick layer of ice blocking us. I moved my hand across the ice and so did the Snow Queen. I looked at her eyes and she stared into mine. I raised my right hand, she raised her left one. I placed my left hand on the ice and she placed her right hand on the ice. She was my reflection. I looked down and saw that I was wearing a dress made out of ice. My hair was in a side braid and was platinum blond. I looked up.
"I am the Snow Queen," I whispered and the ice cracked a bit.
"I am the Snow Queen," I said louder and deep cracks ran across the ice.
I began laughing.
"I am the Snow Queen!" I yelled and the ice shattered as the image of the Snow Queen rushed towards me.
Gasping, I woke up, pulling my hair out of it's bun that I usually sleep in and stared at it incredulously. It was no longer jet black, but now a platinum blond. Punzie was getting dressed as I left my bed, light headed.
"Punzie, I'm the Snow Queen," I whispered.
Punzie looked up and her eyes widened at my hair.
"Elsa?" she stuttered, "Oh my gosh! Do some magic, oh my gosh!" she exclaimed and with a flick, I dressed myself in the ice dress of my dream. She bit her lip and her eyes seemed shiny as she pulled me out the door and towards the training ground. I smiled as I broke into the clearing, slightly out of breath. Jack was the first to turn around and his jaw dropped.
"What-?" he paled, "No, you can't..."
Periwinkle turned from her targets and she stepped back as she saw me, her eyes kept flicking towards the trees.
"What?" I asked everyone, who seemed upset that I was the Snow Queen, "What's wrong?"
"It's just that we, that we," Merida began, "We didn't expect you know"
My eyebrows raised.
"Seriously guys, what's wrong?" I sighed.
Kristoff cleared his throat, "There was something we didn't tell you about being the Snow Queen"
I looked at him, "And what would that be?"
"That they were going to kill the Snow Queen!" a voice from the shadows cackled. I turned around and met the gleaming golden eyes. Pitch sauntered forward, nightmares coming out of the forest.
"Pitch!" Periwinkle squeaked.
My eyes narrowed.
"What are you doing here?" I snarled as everyone got into their fighting positions.
"Honestly, I don't think that is how you greet someone. You should know better Elsa," he laughed, "I must say, Peri did a very convincing job pretending to be the Snow Queen. I was quite happy when I finally found her and she joined me"
We turned to face Periwinkle.
"I can explain, he-" she began, but Pitch cut her off.
"Elsa, I'm trying to save you from your certain death," he smiled, "From the Guardians"
I scoffed at him.
"And why would I believe you?" I asked him.
Pitch's smile widened, "I guess the Guardians didn't tell you the second part of the prophecy"
"What second part?" Anna hissed.
"Born with the power of ice and snow,
Only she could destroy the mighty foe.
But if the ice turns black and the dark triumphs,
The world will die at once.
But alas, beware, fear will not stop,
For the Nightmare King will thrive,
And no man shall be left alive,
Unless her blood shall drop," Pitch grinned widely at me as I back away.
I looked behind me at the people who I used to call friends.
"Is it true?" I asked and the looks in their faces told me everything.
"You see Elsa, Peri and I were actually protecting you from the so called Guardians," Pitch chuckled.
I took one last look at the people behind me and began running, somewhere away from all the lies.
"Elsa! Wait!" I heard Anna call, but I only tore away my gloves and continued running.
"Get me out of here!" I screamed at no one in particular and a blizzard began spinning around me, obscuring my view and I was sucked through space.
I woke up in a familiar place, a place in my visions. I was at the top of a mountain, overlooking a small city under me. A castle was there, but everything else changed. Buildings, roads and cars were sprawled under me. I turned away from Arendelle and towards a large mound of snow. There seemed to be something underneath it...
With my powers, I blew off a bit of the snow, and was met by a familiar door.
For the Queen and King of Ice
Angrily, I erased "King" from the door and entered my ice castle. Everything was exactly as I remembered, even the 2 thrones. I smashed one of them and cleared the ice.
But alas, beware, fear will not stop,
For the Nightmare King will thrive,
And no person will be left alive,
Unless her all her blood drops.
How was I so blind to see this? Now thinking about it, no one tried being friends with Periwinkle because they all assumed that she was the Snow Queen. I was so blind... But now I was the Snow Queen, perhaps Pitch deserved to die, but I rather faced him myself, and never see the Guardians again.
Weeks went by and I became accustomed to the Norwegian life. I was actually happy for the first time in, well, forever. I was in my castle when I heard a knock on the door. Hesitantly, I opened it and found Anna staring at me.
"How did you find me?" I asked threateningly, but I let her in anyway.
"You're my sister, I kind of knew where you would go," she smiled shyly.
"I went to Norway for Heaven's sake!" I rolled my eyes.
"Well, it didn't hurt that a mystical guy on the moon helped me," she giggled.
I smiled slightly, but I knew Anna couldn't stay.
"You should go Anna," I sighed.
"Elsa, wait, please!" she began as I pushed her out the door.
"I came all this way today to give us a fresh start
But now that you're like wow it's all like warm in my heart," she began singing, knowing that I that it was my favorite hobby when I was young.
I smiled, "I'm so glad you like it sis 'cause this is the real me
You have no idea how great it feels to be free"
"We've been falling out for way too long, so let's forget who's right"
"And forget who's wrong"
"Okay!"
"Why don't you stay, there's room for family in my court"
"'Cause life's too short"
"To always feel shut out and unloved by the sister I long to know"
"Life's too short"
"To never let you know me, the true queen of the ice and snow"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa"
"I never understood, but now I do
Life's too short to miss out on a sister like you"
"So you'll come back then?" Anna asked me hopefully.
"Back?" I furrowed my brow.
"To training, we need the Snow Queen," she smiled
I sighed, I didn't want Pitch to win, besides I died before.
"Oh," I simply said.
"So..." Anna fumbled with her back pocket and pulled out two familiar teal colored items. My gloves. My eyes narrowed. How could she? Did she think I was that bad with my powers? I just tore those disgusting things off and found out I was the Snow Queen!
"I don't believe you!" I snapped.
"What? I just assumed that you would have to..." she began.
"That I'll shove on the gloves, that's how your story ends?!" I snapped
"It does ! It's just like it was, except for we'll be best friends," she pleaded
"So that's in your plan to force me back in a cage"
"Whoa, whoa! Don't get upset let's get back on the same page"
"Gee, thanks for coming up to see the place
And showing off your mastery of tact and grace, okay!
Run down the hill and spill my secrets, make a full report!
Bye-bye!"
"Wait," Anna called as I dragged her to the door and opened it.
"Cause life's too short," I sang, preparing to shove her out.
"There it is! The door you'd love to slam in my face!
You did well there for a spell, but now you're back in the same place
Kick me out if you want, but I'm the only one who is
Not one hundred percent convinced the prophecy's you!"
"You can think whatever you want 'cause I don't care
You're a fool who can't tell truths from lies!"
"That's so unfair!"
"I swear I'm through with taking your unshaking sisterly support!
HA! Life's too short!"
"To let you treat our friends back there just as coldly as you always treated me"
"La, la, la, la!"
"Life's too short"
"To listen to a reckless fool who only ever sees the things she wants to see!"
"You don't know..."
"You have no idea..."
"What I've been through
Because of you
Life's too short to waste another minute
Life's too short to even have you in it
Life's too short!"
We screamed at each other and each blasted our powers, out of control.
"Fine, if you're going to be so cold, I'll be leaving!" Anna snapped.
"Good!" I snapped back.
"Why did I even bother coming here anyways! You will never change and the world will die because of you!" Anna screamed at me before slamming the door shut with a loud bang.
I stood frozen to the spot. No one was going to accept me...
"Oh, but we do," Pitch cackled in the background and I spun around.
"You have a beautiful voice, I guess that wasn't lost when you were reborn," he smiled wickedly and extended a hand.
"I know what you've been through. They don't, but together, we'll make them understand," he smiled, his hand waiting.
I looked at it for a long while. I closed my eyes and took his hand. He smiled and black tentacles swirled around us and before we left, I caught my reflection and saw a stranger staring back.
The song is called "Life's too Short" and is owned by Disney. I stumbled across a lot of deleted songs of Frozen. My favourite were "Life's too Short" and its reprise and "Reindeer are Better than People" reprise!
