Chapter 13: Surprise Game + Omake

It's been a little over a year since Tsuna returned back to Cielo and everything in Vongola was back to normal. Giotto was signing paperwork, while G keeps an eye on him, Daemon and Elena spending time together, and the rest of Giotto's guardians doing what they wanted. As Giotto continued his paperwork, he started to reminisce about everything that happened after Tsuna left.

A few days after Tsuna had left; Giotto received information from Alaude that Tsuna's step mother Maria, the Queen of Cielo, was captured for the act of treason and was now awaiting punishment. Giotto frowned at the information. He thought that Maria should have gotten immediate death penalty, but he blew those thoughts away for two reasons. One, he wasn't the ruler for the Cielo Kingdom so he had no say in the matter, and two, he was actually grateful towards her. Even if she did try to kill Tsuna, if it wasn't for her doing that he wouldn't have met and fallen in love with the sweet brunet.

Three weeks later, Daemon and Elena got married. It was a beautiful wedding filled with various white flowers and ribbons, but even though this was a momentous occasion for Elena and Daemon, Elena was slightly disappointed that Tsuna had yet to come back. She wanted Tsuna to be their ring bearer since she thought it would be the perfect job for Tsuna. She also wanted to share with Tsuna this wedding with Tsuna since it would have been his first time at a wedding...

After the wedding, everything and everyone were back to normal, everyone except Giotto. Though, he did act normal to everyone, Giotto made a few changes during his days.

Whenever he had a little break from his paperwork, Giotto would always looked at the ring Tsuna left him or he would look out his window towards the sky. He also made a small change on the way he looked, but it wasn't a difference in the way he dressed. No, it was a difference in his eyes. Normal people who didn't know Giotto wouldn't see it, but his guardians did.

After hearing that Tsuna's problem was solved, Giotto's eyes always held expectation, and throughout the year without Tsuna, the expectation never left Giotto's eyes. His guardians knew very well why it never left. Giotto was still waiting for Tsuna to return and he will continue to wait. No matter what, Giotto will continue to believe in Tsuna's promise.

Tsuna looked at the sky. Today was a rare day, the sky was clear with no clouds or anything to cover it up. It was pretty, but it couldn't compete with how pretty the Vongola Kingdom's sky was, especially their night sky.

Tsuna sighed. He's been stuck in his father's castle the whole time. He wanted to go back to the Vongola Kingdom as soon as everything was over, but because of the incident Iemitsu has been overprotective of him and won't let him leave the Kingdom, let alone the castle. He wanted to go back already, go back to Vongola. He missed everyone, especially Giotto. Tsuna wanted to make sure that Giotto was alright and not sulking in his room or something. It's been a year since the assassination attempt and nothing has happened to him, so why can't he leave?

Tsuna turned his attention to the ring on his finger. He looked at it for a moment before turning around and heading towards his father's study.

Tsuna wants to see him, the person who gave him love and warmth... The person who protected him... Tsuna will ask Iemitsu for permission to go to Vongola. If he refuses then Tsuna will argue with him. If that doesn't work, then he'll beg for permission. However, if all fails then he'll ask Reborn to sneak him out of the castle. Tsuna knows Reborn will help him, after all, Reborn also thinks his father is a bit of an idiot for being so overprotective.

Elena and Giotto's guardians were sitting in the living room doing whatever they want. Giotto wasn't in the room because he was still doing his paperwork.

"Nufufufu are you sure it's alright to leave Giotto unsupervised, G? For all we know he could have abandoned his paperwork." Daemon said

"Yeah, since Tsuna left Giotto's been doing his work more often." G replied "If I had to guess, he's probably doing this so when Tsuna does come back he can spend time with him."

"... I wish Tsuna-chan could come back a little faster... I really want to play with him too." Elena said "It was so fun when he was around."

"It was." Asari said "His kingdom is probably keeping him there for safety. They wouldn't want another assassination attempt."

"True, but-" Elena was interrupted by the phone ringing "I'll get it." She said and went to pick up the phone, which was also in the living room.

"Hello?"

Everyone watched Elena pause for the other's reply. Then her eye widened "Is it really you?" She paused again and then her expression switched to one of excitement and glee. The guardians continued to watch her as she talked to the person who was on the other end. Their conversation continued for a few minutes until finally they said their goodbyes.

"You're welcome, come here in two days. By then everything should be finished. I'll ask the others for help. See you soon." Elena said and then hung up the phone. She returned to the other's side with a big smile on her face.

"Nufufufu who were you talking to Elena?" Daemon asked

Elena smiled even brighter "It was Tsuna-chan!~"

"Really, Elena?" Lampo asked a bit excited

Elena nodded "Yes! Tsuna-chan said that he'll be coming back!"

"That's great! We should tell Giotto!" Asari said

"Actually... let's not tell him or at least not yet." Elena said

"Why? Giotto's going to be so happy that Tsuna is coming back." Asari asked

"Well, Tsuna and I want it to be a surprise. We even though of a plan." Elena explained "We also thought that this way it would be better than just saying he's coming."

"Oh I see, that does sound better." Asari said "So what the plan?"

Elena giggled "Okay so the plan is that we..." And Elena explained to the rest what she and Tsuna thought off.

For the next two days everyone in the Vongola Castle was busy. Giotto's guardians were doing their very best to complete their plan in the two days, except G. G was assigned to distract Giotto and make sure that Giotto didn't happen to run into the others when they were working on the plan. Why they chose G was because G is Giotto's right hand man and is most likely to follow Giotto around than the rest of them.

Surprisingly for them two days past by fast, and now everyone in the Vongola Castle was going to sleep.

'Everyone's been really busy lately. I wonder why.' Giotto thought to himself as he put on his pajamas 'I guess it doesn't matter as long as they don't cause any trouble.' Giotto went to bed, but before he tried to go to sleep he took off the ring Tsuna left him and placed it nicely on his nightstand. 'Good night Tsunayoshi...'

Early in the morning, Elena and the guardians woke up and quietly went to Giotto's room.

"Alright today's the day. Tsuna-chan should be coming. Now all we need to do is take Giotto's ring without waking him up and replace it with the note." Elena informed as she opened the door.

"Nufufufu leave that to me." Daemon said and created an illusion of black blue butterfly.

"Wow, that's pretty Daemon. Didn't know you can make such illusions." G said

"Be quiet." Daemon said and gave the note to the butterfly. The butterfly grabbed and then went into the room. A few seconds later the butterfly came back with the ring.

"Okay, let's go! Everything should still be in place from yesterday so let's go to the meeting spot." Elena said and the rest agreed and left the castle.

Meanwhile after an hour or two Giotto woke up from his slumber. He rubbed his eyes to let them better adjust to the new day. After his vision was clear enough, Giotto got out of bed and reached for the ring only to find out it's gone.

'Eh? Where's the ring?! I remember placing it there!' Giotto thought in a panic and started to search the whole room. After destroying his room in search of the ring, Giotto slumped down onto the ground 'I lost it...' He thought sadly and then a piece of paper flew down in front of him. He picked it up and read it.

Hey Giotto, we thought it would be fun to play a little game with you today, so here are the rules. This game is a scavenger hunt. The obvious goal is to find where we are and get your ring back. So pretty much we're going to direct you to certain places by hints, which will be discovered by things you must do to receive the hints. If you get the place right then you get another note, but get the place wrong and you'll probably be lost for the rest of the game. So good luck and have fun.

- Your Friends

Turn the page for the hint.

Giotto read the note over and over again until a dark aura surrounded him 'I'm going to kill them...' He thought darkly and then a few more seconds passed and the dark aura vanished. Giotto sighed 'Guess I have to play to get the ring back, but still their going to pay.'

Snapping out of his thoughts, Giotto turned the paper over and read the back.

Hint #1: A place that you hide from the most. A place where you visit the most. A place where you're so called enemy lies.

- G (P.S. Make sure you're dressed and not in your pajamas!)

"So a place where I go often, but hid from and where something I really hate is there..." Giotto said to himself and continued to think until it hit him. His office. A place where he hides from, but eventually goes to and does his paperwork, which he deeds his enemy. "That's got to be it." He said and left the room after he got dressed up in his usual clothes. Once in his office, Giotto started to look around.

'Note. Note. Where is the note?' He thought and spotted the note on top of a stack of paperwork.

Objective for hint: Finish the paperwork that this note was on top of.

-Elena

After reading the note, Giotto looked underneath it and stared at the paperwork. It was a medium pile, not too much, but not too little.

'Do I really have to do this?' Giotto thought and then sighed 'I guess I do have to, but at least it's not more than what I do regularly.' Giotto then got to work. He got through half of the paperwork when he realized something 'If my objective is to finish the paperwork then wouldn't the note be at the bottom?' Giotto thought 'It's worth a try.' He then lifted the paperwork and moved it to the other side of the desk. Luckily just like he thought the note was under the papers and for some reason it was with an envelope.

Hint #2: Go to the place where the clothing in the picture can be found!

- Elena

Giotto opened the envelope and took out the pictures that were in the envelope... only to fall to the ground on his hands and knees, trying to hold back the blood that was trying to come out of his nose and spread through his cheeks.

Inside the envelope were pictures of Tsuna in the dresses Elena had made him wear before.

'How did Elena get these pictures?' Giotto thought and composed himself. He stood up and looked at the pictures once more. 'At least it's easy to tell where the dresses are from. It's from Elena's personal closet.' Giotto left the room, but before leaving carefully put the pictures into his pocket "For safe keeping..." He mumbled to himself

When Giotto made it to Elena's closet there was a note on the door.

Objective: Go inside and find the dress that was my favorite.

-Lampo

"How am I supposed to find that?" Giotto said and then looked over the pictures. There were 10 pictures in total. In each pictures Tsuna was wearing a filly dress, but with different designs and colors. The dresses colors were mahogany, a light red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, white, and black. Giotto personally liked the white dress since it reminds him of a wedding dress and because it shows Tsuna innocence, but this challenge wasn't about his favorite. It was about Lampo's.

"I think it'd be easier to find all the dresses first..." Giotto said and then went inside and started to look for the dresses.

After a while of searching for dresses Giotto found the note attached to the yellow dress. He read the note.

Giotto, I couldn't think of anything to write as a hint because there are many of these in the Kingdom, so I'm just going to tell you where to go... Don't tell Elena or the rest, they're going to be so mad at me for not making this challenging so if they ask then say that I did make a hint. Anyway, go to the cafe that you and Tsuna-chan went to when you were on your date.

-Lampo

"... How did Lampo know where Tsunayoshi and I went to a cafe? I don't remember telling them about our date..." Giotto said to himself "I'll ask about that later. I better get going to the cafe." With that said Giotto left the castle and went to the cafe.

Once at the cafe Giotto searched outside for any other notes. He didn't find any for the first few minutes and started to consider that maybe Lampo was lying until he heard a woman's voice.

"Good morning, your majesty. Are you here for the note?"

Giotto turned around to see a girl with long pink hair and blue eyes in a waitress outfit. It took Giotto a short moment to register what she had said before.

"Good morning to you too." Giotto greeted back politely "Yes, I was looking for a note. Did my guardians give you it?"

The pink haired girl smiled "Yes, they did and they told me make you work for the note." She said "But since you're the king and I'm feeling nice this morning, I'll give it to you without any challenge."

"Really? You'll give it to me?" Giotto asked in disbelief. The girl nodded and took out the note. "You seemed to be in a hurry so why not?"

Giotto took the note and smiled at the girl "Thanks for the help!" He said and walked away with the note. As Giotto was walking he read the note.

Hint #3: A place where birds sometimes dine and fly.

- Asari

"Asari's note makes no sense..." Giotto mumbled and continued to walk. "A place where birds eat and fly around... Where could that be...?"

Giotto thought for a moment about where the place could be until he remembered something.

"Ah! There are so many birds!" Tsuna said with amazement as he watched the flock of birds on the ground and sky.

Giotto chuckled at his reaction "Would you like to feed them?"

Tsuna turned to Giotto with sparkles in his eyes "Can I?"

Giotto smiled "Of course" He said and got up from the bench they were sitting on. "Wait here, I'll be right back."

Tsuna nodded and stayed sitting on the bench, while Giotto left. A few minutes later, Giotto came back with a small loaf of bread in his hand. He broke the bread in half and handed one to Tsuna.

Giotto crumped his half of the bread into a pile of crumbs "First, you have to break the bread into small pieces. It's better to do this so the birds don't fight over the whole part of the bread." He said and threw the crumbs into an open area. "Then you just throw it somewhere where the birds aren't at. If you throw it at the birds then they may fly away." He said and a few seconds later the birds started to peck at the bread crumbs.

"Look, Giotto-san! The birds are eating it!" Tsuna said excitedly

Giotto smiled "They sure are. Do you want to try it now?" Tsuna nodded and repeated what Giotto had done, and then before they even knew it they were surrounded by birds.

"I did it!" Tsuna said happily

Giotto gently smiled at Tsuna and ruffled his hair "You sure did. Good job!"

Tsuna blushed at all three actions, but still returned it with a heart-warming smile.

"If I remember correctly me and Tsunayoshi were in the park when we fed the flying birds... Wait! Are all the places from where Tsunayoshi and I went for our date?" Giotto said and thought over the places he's been to "First it was my office, and then it was Elena's closet, after that it was the cafe, and now the park... I'll go to the park. If I'm right then there should be a note at the park." With that said Giotto started to run to the park.

Once at the park, Giotto started to look around. He looked around the trees and the bench where he and Tsuna sat on, but still found nothing.

"Was I wrong?" Giotto said and was about to leave, but stopped when he heard a song.

Midori tanabiku Namimori no~

Dai naku shou naku nami ga ii~

Giotto looked up to see a puffy yellow bird flying in circles singing the song. When the bird seemed to notice that Giotto saw him, it swooped down and landed on Giotto's head.

Giotto stopped moving and carefully grabbed the yellow bird in his hands and took it off his head "What is this?" Giotto said and looked at the bird. He then noticed that there was a scroll attached to its foot. He gently took the scroll from the bird's foot. Once it was off the yellow bird flew away. Giotto turned his attention back to the small scroll and unfolded it.

Final Hint: Go to the place where you expressed your love and were loved back.

-Your friends

"As I thought, the places were based on where Tsunayoshi and I went before. So this should be the meadow." Giotto said and ran to the gates of the Kingdom. He exited the gates and continued to run through the woods and towards the meadow. As he was running he smelled the faint scent of fruit and bread.

Once Giotto arrived at the meadow, he was shocked at the sight before him. In the meadow, there were his guardians and the Cielo Guardians that were carrying blankets, baskets of sandwiches and fruits, and a tea set, but that wasn't what shocked him. What shocked him was the person that was standing in the middle of the two groups of guardians. The person Giotto's been waiting to see for so long...

"Tsunayoshi!" Giotto shouted and tackled said person to the ground with a hug. "Tsunayoshi, Tsunayoshi, is it really you? I'm not hallucinating?"

Tsuna smiled and returned Giotto's hug "No, It's me Giotto-san. I'm back."

Giotto smiled at Tsuna's words and hugged him tighter "Welcome back..." The two stayed in each other's arms until they heard a cough from the group of people. As soon as they remembered there were more people they separated from each other and stood up.

"I'm glad I could see you again Giotto-san. I'm sorry I took long." Tsuna said

Giotto shook his head "No, it's alright. I'm just happy that you're back Tsunayoshi." Giotto said softly and then remembered something. "Which reminds me..." He turned to his guardians "Where is my ring?!"

His question was answered with Tsuna's laughter. Giotto turned his attention back to Tsuna "I'm glad that you treasure the ring I gave you, but please don't be mad at them. It was my idea. I thought that it would be nice to surprise you." Tsuna said and held out Giotto's ring "Please, don't be mad."

Giotto took the ring and slipped it into his finger "Don't worry, I'm not mad."'Not anymore anyway...'

Tsuna smiled "I'm glad!" He said "Now, how about we start the picnic?"

"That's sounds like a good idea. I haven't eaten anything all morning." Giotto said and then they started their picnic.

During the picnic, Giotto and Tsuna sat next to each other. Occasionally, Giotto fed Tsuna with resulted in Tsuna blushing while eating. The rest of their guardians conversed with each other, getting to know each other, and at one point Gokudera and G were having an argument on who copied whose hair style. In the end though, much to Gokudera's disappointment, G won because he was born first, therefore had the hair style first. Everyone laughed at Gokudera's reaction when he found out that he had lost.

The picnic was filled with conversations and laughter, and by the end of the day, enemies became friends. The picnic lasted until sunset. At that time Reborn and Tsuna's guardians were getting ready to leave. As they were getting ready Tsuna went to Giotto.

"Giotto-san, if I could stay here... Would you let me?" Tsuna asked

Giotto smiled and pulled Tsuna into a gentle embrace "Of course."

"Thank you, Giotto-san" Tsuna said and returned Giotto's hug.

"Wait, you mean..." Tsuna nodded "After a bit of talking, my father has allowed me to stay here with you, but only if you agree."

After hearing this Giotto hugged Tsuna tighter "Of course you can stay." Tsuna smiled and relaxed in the hug. They stayed in each others arms until G called them saying it was time for them to go.

They separated from the hug and Giotto extended his hand towards Tsuna "Let's go home, Tsunayoshi."

Tsuna happily nodded and took Giotto's hand. That night Tsuna and Giotto slept with each other in complete bliss, happy to finally be together with the one they love.

A/n: Well, I hope you enjoyed the story, but I feel as though some people are disappointed at me because I didn't do anything really bad with Maria... Anyway I also wrote an omake for this so enjoy!

Short Omake: Tsuna Pictures Conflict

Giotto was happily enjoying the picnic with Tsuna until Elena had called him over for a talk. He and Elena then moved away from the group until they were out of hearing range.

"What is it, Elena? Is something wrong?" Giotto asked

Elena smiled "I would like my pictures back, Giotto."

"Pictures of what?" Giotto asked confused

"You know very well what pictures! The pictures of Tsuna-chan in the dresses!" Elena said and extended her hand "Hand them over."

Giotto smiled "Elena, I left those pictures in the castle. I would not carry those around." He said innocently

"Do you think I'll believe you with that innocent voice?" Elena asked "Now give them back Giotto. They're mine in the first place."

"But Tsunayoshi is my lover, Elena. I think I have more of a right to have them." Giotto said in a somewhat superior tone.

"Maybe, but Tsuna-chan is my little brother, and I was the one who took those pictures, so their my property." Elena countered in the same tone.

Giotto and Elena then continued to argue about who gets to keep the pictures, but after a few minutes of arguing they came to the resolution that they would both get 5 of the 10 pictures of Tsuna in a dress, which made them both happy that they could keep pictures of Tsuna.

All the while, Tsuna kept glancing at Giotto and Elena wondering what they were arguing about.

A/n: Haha fun... Again thank you all for the Favorites, Follows, and Reviews! I hope you enjoy this story! Bye!

SyriaFranz: It's a mixture of medieval times and modern times. Like the dialogue and things like that are modern, while the setting is kinda based on medieval times. I don't know much about how everything was in medieval times so it may look for modern than anything. Is it like Romeo and Juliet? I never actually intended it to be. And no Gokudera and G are not sibling. They just coincidentally look like each other.

Guest: I was thinking for a moment about making Tsuna a girl, but I liked it better when he's a guy.
