A/N: Some explanations before I get started: this is in a modern-day/real FROZEN world. Elsa does not have ice powers, but there is something she is hiding. Olaf is her gay best friend. Sven is Kristoff's possibly gay best friend. This is just going to be a one-shot unless I change my mind later.

Elsa sat in her room, and stared out at the ice. As usual when there was anything white on the ground, Anna had asked if she wanted to build a snowman. Elsa turned her away as usual. She hated to, but she could never forget that one time when they were kids. Anna was sliding down the hill, and Elsa turned away to try and catch a snowflake on her tongue. When she turned back around, Anna had already run into the fence, knocking her out. The doctor healed her, and Anna didn't remember the accident, but Elsa remembered. She could never take the risk of hurting Anna again.

The phone next to her buzzed, and she saw a text from her best friend: Olaf. "Has the ice princess asked the snow queen to build a snowman yet?" Elsa giggled at Olaf's way of asking if Anna had asked her to go outside. He was the only person that had been able to make her smile for a long time. She picked up her phone and responded, "Maybe. Has the silent one asked you to the dance yet?" Still, as she hit send, tears came to her eyes. 'Silent Sven' had been deemed possibly gay by Elsa, Anna, and many others, and Olaf couldn't be happier about that. Elsa's tears started to fall, knowing that she was hiding the truth from Olaf: Sven had asked a girl to the dance. As far as she knew, Olaf didn't know. She didn't want to be the one to tell him, but he still needed to know. Her phone buzzed again.

"Please don't mention him right now."

He knew. Olaf knew that Sven had asked a girl to the dance. The tears fell harder. Elsa knew all that Olaf had done to get Sven to appreciate him. Olaf knew, and Elsa had just reopened the wound. Elsa and Olaf texted back and forth about what happened, Elsa still pretending she had no idea.

When their conversation was over, Elsa gave herself her usual punishment. She took a pin out of a small box. While saying a prayer for God to take away Olaf's pain and for him and God to forgive her, she scraped the pin across her hand. Pain shot through her hand. The heat rose up her arm. Still, she gritted her teeth and kept on. She reached the point where blood would be spilled if she went any deeper and stopped. The fact that she did this was unknown to anyone, and anything with blood on it would be a dead give-away. She went to the bathroom, turned the water as hot as it would go, and ended her punishment.

When she got back to her room, there was another knock at her door. "Elsa?" Anna's voice came through the door. "I know you don't want to build a snowman, but do you at least want to walk around outside for a little bit? Olaf is here!"

Elsa smirked as she looked at her hands, still red from pain. "Just let me get my gloves."
