Me: Sorry it's been so long, but I'm finally updating Blood Ties All Together. Here is Chapter Four, but first Casper will you say the disclaimer please.

Casper: Sure. Brightcloud0915 does not own warriors, but she owns Flashfur, Maple, Raven, Snowflake, Kitt, Me, and others. I'm outta here.

Me: Thank you Casper. And now here is Chapter Four.

Chapter Four

Maple woke up and looked over towards her right. Kitt was still curled up beside her. She prodded her friend's side with her brown paws.

"Kitt wake up," Maple hissed at the silvery she-cat. Kitt groaned, but opened her eyes and stood up. Kitt yawned, and looked around the clearing.

"What time is it?" the silvery she-cat asked. Maple looked up at the pale gray sky.

"I say it was just about dawn. You should be getting home soon. After all your housefolk will be getting worried about you," Maple meowed.

"No they won't I've stayed out longer than this, and they've never come looking for me before so I don't think they'll be too worried. Anyway I'm not going back Maple. I can't," Kitt mewed bitterly. Maple cocked her head in curiosity, but before she could ask her friend anything she heard her kits as they began to wake up.

"Mom can we go hunting please?" Raven asked his mother. Maple regarded her son closely.

"Okay you and Snowflake can go hunting, but you must stay away from the gorge and the twoleg place," Maple meowed. Her son smiled, and her daughter was practically flying with all that jumping she was doing. After receiving her permission to go out the two young cats flew out of the clearing and into the forest. Maple laughed at their antics, and Kitt smiled.

"So Kitt, what do you mean you can't go home. Are those rogues keeping you from getting back like they did me? Are you…" Maple didn't get a chance to finish.

"It's partly because of them, but you see Maple I'm expecting kits," the silvery she-cat meowed. Maple was beaming at her friend's news.

"Oh, Kitt that's wonderful. Who's the father?" Maple asked. At that question Kitt froze, but only for a minute.

"He's one of the rogues, but he's not like the others. He's kind and considerate. He will be a good father. His name is Basil, and I love him," Kitt said passionately.

"Tell me how you two met," Maple said. Kitt nodded and began to tell her tale.

Flashback

Kitt walked out of her housefolk's den, and into the yard. She stretched slowly and shook the last shreds of tiredness from herself. She padded over to the fence and jumped up. She smiled as the sun warmed her pelt. She heard the breeze rustle the leaves in the trees. It was utterly peaceful. Normally Kitt would have been content to lay on the fence, and doze, but today she was on a mission. She was going to look for her friend Maple.

She jumped down off the fence on the forest side. Glancing around she saw no one else. Kitt padded into the forest. She took a deep breath as the trees' shadows fell across her. Kitt continued to go forward. She paused for a minute when she heard a noise. It was the sound of a branch snapping, and something big coming her way. A russet furred muzzle pushed its way through the bushes. Amber eyes bored into the silvery gray she-cat.

Kitt was frozen with terror. The fox glared at her, and stepped forward. Kitt shrieked and ran. Her heart was pounding, and fear was starting to overwhelm her. She heard the fox following, and risked a glance over her shoulder. The fox was gaining, and rapidly at that.

There's no way I'll be able to outrun it. I'll have to turn and fight, Kitt thought to herself. She skidded to a stop and then spun around. Her eyes were filled with a fire. She unsheathed her claws, and growled. The fox stood and examined her. Something akin to amusement filled its amber eyes for and instant. Then it snarled, and lunged towards Kitt. She leapt to the left and ran her claws along its side. The fox yelped, and snapped at Kitt's tail. She pulled it out of the way only to be hit with a paw. Her head was reeling, and she was seeing double. Kitt shook her head to clear it, and slashed at the fox's muzzle. Another yelp told her she had hit her target.

Suddenly a yowl came from her right. Both Kitt and the fox whipped their heads towards the sound. Then a reddish-brown tom jumped, landing squarely on the fox's back. He dug his claws into the russet furred shoulders, and clamped his teeth down on one of its ears. The fox cried out, and tried to dislodge the tom. Kitt seized the opportunity and bit the fox's left foreleg. The fox whimpered, and jerked its leg out of Kitt's grasp. Then it fled, the reddish-brown tom leaping off, and disappeared into the forest.

"Jeez kittypet, did you have to get that fox's attention?" the tom asked. Kitt huffed.

"I didn't ask for your help. And I have a name, its Kitt," Kitt spat at him. The tom just laughed.

"Your twolegs must have hated you. Why name a cat Kitt? Anyway my name's Basil," the tom said. Kitt had to give him that, but that didn't make it much better. She turned and started heading deeper into the forest. She heard Basil following her.

"What do you want? I'm busy," Kitt growled in annoyance. Basil laughed.

"Doing what? Attracting unwanted attention? What's next, disturbing a family of badgers?" Basil asked jokingly.

"If you must know I'm looking for a friend. She's been missing for a while, and well I'm worried about her," Kitt said, stopping and sitting down. Basil put his tail comfortingly on her shoulder.

"If you'd like I could help you look. But if you don't want me to help I'll respect your decision," Basil meowed. Kitt looked into his light amber eyes, and saw that he meant every word.

"Okay I'll let you help," Kitt said as she stood and started walking, "Thank you Basil."

End Flashback

"That's how we met. I came to the forest more often to look for you. He told me about his life as a rogue, and I told him about you and my life as a kittypet. It became clear pretty soon to me that you weren't my only reason for coming back to the forest," Kitt said. Maple smiled.

"So how did you find out? About the kits I mean?" Maple asked.

"My housefolk took me to the vet's and they found out there. Once they found out they, Maple, they said they were going to get rid of my kits," Kitt mewed. Maple looked at her in horror.

"They were going to do that? How…how could they?" Maple asked horrified. Kitt nodded, and shrugged in reply. Maple rested her tail on her friend's shoulder comfortingly.

"Well then, we'll just find Basil, and tell him about your kits. If he's like you say he shouldn't hesitate to help you. It's not that I doubt you, but I haven't ever had a good experience with the rogues," Maple meowed. Kitt nodded in understanding, and smiled.

"Thank you Maple," the silvery-gray she-cat meowed. Then the friends stiffened. They heard angry yowls, and a shriek of terror. Then a black streak shot into the clearing.

"Mom I tried to stop her, but she was to into the chase to notice. She ran right into some rogues. They have her. The rogues have Snowflake," Raven said panting. Maple glanced Kitt and the three cats dashed out of the clearing and into the forest.

Me: Again sorry for the long wait. I'm sure you all hate me. I'll start working on chapter five soon I promise.

Raven: Sure you say that now, but will you really.

Me: You know what I should just stuff you. *grins evilly*

Raven: On second thought I'm sure you will. Please R&R readers, and I'll see you later. *leaves room quickly*

Me: Sometimes it helps to scare people.
