She'll Say Yes, She'll Say No

James had a flower in his hands.

A lily, to be exact. And one by one, he was picking off its petals.

She'll say yes, she'll say no, she'll say yes, she'll say no.

Five petals left, and she came, five minutes early.

"James! So, you wanted to ask me something?" Lily asked, smiling at him.

She'll say yes.

They were on talking basis now, after she had found out that James had saved Severus' life.

She'll say no.

"Well… you see… um…" James felt himself blushing. "Iwaswonderingifyou'dgoonadatewithmeImeanyoudon'thavetoifyoudon'twanttobutImeanthe-"

She'll say yes.

"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down! I don't understand a word you're saying!" she said, laughing.

She'll say no.

"Will you please go out with me?" he asked, looking away.

Lily smiled at him. "Of course, James. Of course. I would love to!"

She'll say yes.

He looked at her in surprise, then leapt into the air, punching the air. "YES YES YES!"

He realized what he was doing and pulled a hand through his hair sheepishly. "Wait, you did say yes, right? I didn't mishear?"

"You didn't mishear," she whispered at him, smiling. And then, she went for the kiss.
