Chapter 12:
"Mr Peabody where are we going next?" Sherman asked as Mr Peabody set the controls.
"Let's see if you can guess?" Mr Peabody said.
"Which year is it?" Sherman asked.
"1228." Mr Peabody responded.
"Are we going to visit Robin Hood?" Sherman said excitedly.
"We sure are." Mr Peabody said smiling.
"Isn't it going to be dangerous going there because he is an outlaw after all." Penny said worried.
"It's Okay Penny you have me…"Sherman said.
(Awkward silence)
"… and Mr Peabody." Sherman quickly said.
Mr Peabody flew WABAC over the lush green trees of Sherwood in Nottingham and a prompt landing in a clearing and set the WABAC in invisible mode. Before Mr Peabody let the children out he scanned the area to see for any possible threat.
"Okay it's safe to come out." Mr Peabody motioned the children to come out.
"What's with you Mr Peabody." Sherman said puzzled.
"Sherman, you may not know it but in these times the British wanted to arrest Robin Hood and punish him for his crimes so we need steer out of their way of trouble." Mr Peabody said seriously.
"Okay." Sherman said.
The trio started to make their way through the forest Sherman and Penny in front Mr Peabody where he could see them.
"So Sherman do you know anything else about Robin Hood?" Penny asked.
"Well apparently he had his own group called the 'Merry Men'." Sherman said proudly.
"I wonder Robin Hood would look like." Penny thought out loud.
"Why do you care?" Sherman's jealously kicking in.
"Woah Sherman take a chill pill." Penny said amused.
At that exact moment 4 men jumped out the trees with their bows and arrows at the ready.
"Give us all your Gold or we'll take this little girl instead." Will said as he grabbed Penny and held his left arm around her neck while he held a sword in the other.
"Let me go you freak!" Penny shouted while her legs and arms waving about the place.
Sherman looked around in his pocket desperately "Uh sir please let my friend go in exchange for a uh a jelly bean maybe." Sherman said hurriedly.
The merry men looked at Sherman as if he were of his mind. Even Penny stopped squirming about and gave him a deadpan look.
Sherman gave her an 'i'm sorry it's the best I got' look back.
"Excuse me gentlemen but can't we resolve this conflict with proper adult like behavior." Mr Peabody said.
"Are you saying we are acting like children?!" Little John said angrily.
"Of course not, if you had listened you might have understood." Mr Peabody said back.
"Are you saying I'm badly educated." Little John said angrily once more.
Mr Peabody slapped his forehead with frustration.
"Right enough chatting boys get them!"Little John instructed.
Little John and the two other men advanced on Mr Peabody and Sherman while Will took Penny and dragged her away from the scene, Sherman immediately noticed this and ran forward.
"Don't worry Penny I'll save you!" Sherman said bravely.
"But who's going to save you!" Little John said laughing.
Back at the Whitehouse...
A Lab assistant went up hastily to Shura's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in." Shura said with a groan.
The lab assistant came in and stood directly in front of her.
"What do you want?" Shura said in a rude tone.
"Er, Mistress I've come to tell you that the the weapon to freeze time is half built." the lab assistant said.
"Then why are you here telling me this go back down and finish dammit now!" Shura screamed.
"That's the thing, the elements we need to finish off are being delivered from all the way from Australia and won't get here in another 4 days." The Lab assistant said.
"So what you want me throw you little party for doing half the job." Shura said sarcastically.
"Oh really Shura that's wonderful thankyou!" The lab assistant said full of joy and ran out the room.
The worker ran all the way to the balcony that over looked the entire workplace and came up to the megaphone.
"Attention everyone Shura said we can have a party for our hard work until the shipment comes in from Australia!" The worker's voice echoed through the workplace.
A round of cheers and applause came from all the workers and they stampeded out the room to celebrate.
On now Shura realized what happened "Oh crud."
Sherwood Forest...
Mr Peabody quickly ran forward dodged the first Merry man and skillfully snagged the sword out his hand. The second Merry Man shot two arrows at Mr Peabody he duck for the first one and amazingly sliced the second arrow with his new sword. The first Merry man who had lost his sword to Mr Peabody came charging froward weaponless and Mr Peabody simply stepped aside and tripped the man with his own sword.
"I must admit those are some pretty neat skills but you wouldn't be able defeat me." Little John said smugly.
"Why not?" Peabody asked.
"Because I'm Robin's lieutenant and he had taught me every move and every skill." Little John said proudly.
"But I bet he hasn't taught you this trick." Mr Peabody said as he jumped on to the tree behind Little John and flipped back over so he landed in front of Little John who was distracted from what had just happened. This Mr Peabody a chance to flick his sword out his hand and land his left paw.
"Shock over whelmed Little john's face and he said "Yeah... he didn't teach me that move."
"I will let you go only if you tell me where your leader's hideout is." Mr Peabody said seriously.
"Fine this way." Little John said defeated.
Little John led Mr Peabody and Sherman through the woods until they reached another clearing but with one enormous tree.
"I hope Penny is alright." Sherman said anxiously.
When they got there Merry men from around the ages of 17-22 were scattered every where doing their thing. When Sherman spotted Penny chatting and smiling to a older teenage boy with dirty blond hair and brown eyes. Rage started to fill Sherman as he watched them gazing into each other's eyes (Or so he thought). So the sensible option for him was to storm over there to stop whatever was going to happen...
Ooooh what is Sherman gonna do find out in the next chapter! Also I'd really appreciate to have some more reviews and opinions. Thanx ;D
