Sasuke: Looks like things will go back to normal…well as normal it can be with you and Shadow there.

Sonic: (laughs) Nah, your life will be more fun now!

Sasuke: (snorts) Until the Hokage finds a way for you two to go home.

Sonic: (crosses arms) I hope she can. I kinda wanna go back to my place, no offense.

Sasuke: (shrugs) None taken. All of your friends are there.

Sonic: And my chili dogs!

Sasuke: And your chili…you make me so angry sometimes.

Goodbye

On the flipside

Awkward.

If one word could describe the situation I'm in, that'll be it.

I'm back in Tails' house, sitting on the couch. Rouge is in the chair, apparently also having been called here by a specific fox. She is looking over in my direction, teal eyes swirling with a pretty even mixture of amusement and concern. I really don't blame her. My facial expression is probably laughable, but since I can't see myself at the moment, there isn't any way I can tell. Also, this whole moment itself is kinda heartbreaking, to say in the least.

Tails is sitting beside me, leaning on my shoulder as he bawls his eyes out. His tears leak out of his now dull eyes and the action dampens my red fur. The kit is gripping my arm tightly like it's a lifeline. Uncontrollable sobs rack his body, paired with weak whimpers escaping his mouth.

Not really the one for comforting people, I glance over to the bat and she shrugs. Some help she is. Inwardly sighing, I lift my other hand and pat Tails on the shoulder lightly; that's the only thing I could really think of.

This started the second I stepped into the house. When I came in, the kit was immediately in my face, spouting incomprehensible words with moist blue eyes. He then just started to cry, leaning his forehead on my chest. Saying that I was surprised was an understatement. I led the weeping fox to the couch and sat him down before popping a squat myself. Tails then latched onto me and didn't let go no matter how much I tried to pry him off. Rouge walked in with us in the same position. She asked what's wrong, but the kit didn't answer.

Tails has been invading my personal space for about ten minutes now and the bat has been watching the whole time, waiting (so am I) for the fox to tell us why he told us to come here, even though I have a hunch.

The kit eventually stops crying and detaches himself from me. He sniffs a few times before rubbing his slightly red eyes. Tails glances to my shoulder, notices its moistness, and frowns. "I'm sorry Knuckles…"

"Ah…" You can tell I am no good with these types of situations. "It's alright Tails. Don't worry about it."

Rouge flutters her wings and finally decides to join us on the couch, landing on the other side of the kid. She crosses her legs and links her hands together. Teal eyes focus on the downcast fox. "What's wrong, hon?"

"And why did you call us here?" I ask. Rouge glares at me over Tails' head and I hold my hands up. What? I know she wants the same answer.

She returns her attention to Tails. "Ignore Red over there." The bat nudges the fox. "What's eating you?"

Tails sniffs and rubs his nose. "It's just that…Shadow has been gone for nearly a week now…" Rouge and I glance at each other. I was right, so this is all about Sonic and Shadow still being gone. I'm slightly worried as well, but Shadow isn't usually one to fail in his missions, so I think he's still working where ever he is to bring Sonic back.

Rouge, having been told about the hedgehog going to save Sonic the day after he left, knows what's going on and gives Tails a sympathetic smile. "Don't be so upset. What would you think Sonic would do if the situation was reversed?"

"…He would trust Shadow to bring me back…"

Rouge nods. "Right."

"But…" Tails slumps down in the cushion. "They have to have some type of trouble because if they weren't, they would've been back by now!"

"Listen, Tails." I link my hands behind my head. "Even if they were, I'm pretty sure those two can handle themselves."

"I know, but-"

"No buts!"

"I don't say this often, but Knuckie's right." I decide to ignore that little jab. In her own little way, she's helping me out immensely in this situation. "Shadow and Blue don't need you worrying about them. They can handle just about anything thrown their way."

Tails puts his face in his hands. "I'm not worried about any danger! I realize that they won't have a problem with any of that! I'm just saying that what if they can't come back?"

"What do you mean?" I look his way with a confused frown.

"What I'm trying to say is that what if they can't get back with the Chaos emeralds? When Sonic disappeared, he had an emerald on him, so he could've just Chaos Controlled back here. But he didn't. And now Shadow's gone with the rest of the gems and he isn't back here either. Do you get it?"

My muscles tense as I take in Tails' words. He's right and I want to smack myself from not realizing this sooner. They must be somewhere where they can't use chaos energy to come back here. I glare at the ceiling, trying to think to where in the hell they were. There isn't any place I know that can do that. Eggman is out of the question because Sonic wasn't there when Shadow, Tails, and I were looking for him.

"Hm…I understand what you're saying, Tails." Rouge taps her chin and stares off into space. "The problem isn't about Sonic and Shadow, but the Chaos emeralds' power."

The bat and fox slowly turns their heads toward me with expectant looks. I raise a bemused brow. "Why are you two looking at me like that?"

"Well…we need the emeralds to work, but we can't reach them ourselves…" Tails begins, seeming to be getting over he little bout of despair.

"…But, we do have another beautiful gem we could use to get those emeralds back here and ultimately the two missing hedgehogs." Rouge finishes, a sly smile growing on her face.

I get what they're saying right away. "You want me to use the Master Emerald." I deadpan and they nod vehemently. With a sigh, I stand up and gesture them to follow. I go over to the door and put my gloved hand on the doorknob. Pausing, I glance back at them. "Don't get your hopes up. If the emeralds can't come back here, how do you think the M.E. can make them?"

"It's the only choice we have!" Blue eyes plead up at me. "They have been gone for so long! Let's go!" Tails clenches his fists, determination lighting up his face.

I chuckle at his enthusiasm. "Alright." I then open the door only to get pounded on my forehead. Scowling, I raise my hand up to nurse the throbbing contact point. I'm about to give my attacker a piece of my mind until I actually see who it is. Blinking the pain away, I address her. "Oh, hey Amy."

Said hedgehog gasps and eyes my head. "Oh my gosh! I didn't mean to do that; I was about to knock! Are you okay?"

Walking fully out of the house, away from the doorframe, I answer her. "I'm fine."

She gazes at me for a few seconds before focusing on the other two exiting the house. "Hi Tails, Rouge!" They return her greeting. Amy then glances at all of us with barely restrained hope. "Are Sonic and Shadow back yet?" Rouge must've told her what happened to the black hedgehog.

The bat shakes her head. "Nope. They aren't."

"But we're going to see right now if we can bring them back home!" Tails says with a wide smile on his face.

"Really?!" The pinkette's eyes sparkle. "How?"

"We're going to try to use the Master Emerald to bring the emeralds, and hopefully Sonic and Shadow back." I answer gruffly.

Amy clasps her hands together and smiles. "If anything's gonna bring them back, that definitely will! Can I come with you?"

"It shouldn't be a problem." I say, focusing in on the Master Emerald's energy. "Both Tails and Rouge can fly, so it should work out." Turning away, I start to run in the direction of Angel Island. "Follow me!"

We arrive at the shrine of the Master Emerald in about thirty minutes. We would've gotten here a long time ago but a certain jewel loving bat had to take a detour inside a jewelry store when we had to pass through Station Square. She was in there for ten minutes before coming out with nothing. Her response to my glare was, "Nothing to my taste was in there." Tails and Amy convinced me to keep on leading the way before I could do something drastic.

Everyone now is standing around the huge green gem. I glance at the others. The hedgehog and kit are bouncing with excitement while the bat waits patiently with a spark of hope in her eyes. I can't deny it, I'm a bit eager as well. Holding my hands out, I feel the chaotic energy. "Here goes nothing…" Closing my eyes, I recite the ancient quote to unlock the power of the emerald. "The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power, power enriched by the heart. The heart is the controller. The controller serves to unify the chaos."

"Knuckles! It's glowing!" Peering one eye open, I see that the emerald is doing precisely what Tails said.

Nodding to him, I close it again to refocus and begin to ask for what I want. "Please Master Emerald, bring all of the Chaos emeralds to the altar." And hopefully Sonic and Shadow. "Controller…unify the chaos."

"It's getting brighter!" Amy's happy shout brings me to open both of my eyes only to witness the giant emerald radiating a vivid viridescent color. When it's almost to the point of blinding, it begins to pulsate slowly.

Rouge peers over at me. "Is it working?"

I nod. "Yeah…it's attracting the Chaos emeralds."

Konoha

Sasuke's POV

I shove my hands in my pockets and watch dully with the others as Ino, yet again, goes on to be the alarm to wake up the two still sleeping in the living room to tell them to get up for breakfast. I thought she learned her lesson last time about waking up a certain hedgehog, but I guess she didn't. Also, like last time, the females of the group are going on softly about how cute Sonic and Shadow look on the couch. I just scoff. Tch…girls.

The platinum blonde tip toes her way in the middle of the floor, glancing back and forth between the two couches. Oh? It seems like she had learned her lesson after all because she goes to wake up the lesser of two evils (eh…at this moment in time). Ino walks up to Sonic and reaches out to shake him on his shoulder, but pauses, thinking about something. A sly smile appears on her face and she changes her hand's course for the blue hedgehog's furry ear. She scratches it gently and the speedster shifts a little bit before a low purr comes out of his mouth.

Ino bites her knuckles to stop from shrieking like a fangirl while I hear muffled one's coming from the girls close to me. Kiba groans. "Are we sure he's a hedgehog? Not a cat, or something?"

Naruto snickers. "Don't pretend that you wouldn't do that if you were in the same position, dog breath."

The Inuzuka glares at the dobe, but the faint flush on his cheeks weakens the effect. "Shut up!"

Ignoring those two, I focus on Ino who reluctantly takes away her hand, ultimately stopping the throaty noise coming from Sonic. She takes a deep breath before shaking the hedgehog's shoulder lightly, no doubt satisfied that she got to pet him. After a few shakes, Sonic blinks his emerald orbs open and yawns, stretching on the couch. Wiping his eyes, he looks at the blonde in front of him who is grinning like an idiot. "Oh, 'ey Ino."

She backs up a couple of steps and singsongs, "Time to get up, Sonic! It's breakfast time!"

"Hm…" The blue speedster hums, rubbing his stomach. "I really could go for some food right now!" He sits up and starts to put on his gloves and shoes. When he finishes, he stands up and glances over to us. Sonic gives a grin. "Morning, everyone!" Various similar responses answer him.

"Um, Sonic?" He turns to Ino who is looking over at a still sleeping Shadow nervously.

"Yeah?"

"Can you uh…wake Shadow up?" So, that was her plan.

Sonic shrugs, not finding the request strange at all. Also, not catching the fact that Ino is slightly scared to even touch the hot-tempered hedgehog. "Sure." A mischievous smirk appears on his face. Sonic strolls over to Shadow and squats down, directly in front of the black one's face. He chuckles to himself before raising his hand and flicking Shadow on his nose. Said hedgehog immediately grabs his nose and sits up, hissing in pain. Sonic laughs out loud. "Off the couch, Shads! It's breakfast time!"

Sonic's rival glares daggers at the speedster before lunging for him. Sonic, still filled with mirth, avoids the little attack. "You're too slow!"

Shadow gets off the ground and growls out, "You'll pay for that, Faker!" He slips on his shoes and gloves with celerity.

"Only if you can catch me!" Sonic runs off and it's not long before Shadow is on his tail, muttering death threats. When they are sprinting around, us ninja only see blue and black streaks circling the living room, causing weak gusts of wind blowing our hair. My bangs get in my face, so I push them away only for them to return to their annoying position.

Along with the sound of thudding feet, I hear Ino's surprised yells as the whirlwinds whip her around, she is in the middle of the fray, after all. All of a sudden, the two streaks pass us and enter the kitchen, out of sight. Ino sighs in relief and makes her way back over to us, a pout on her face. "Look at my hair!" Two words: bird's nest. She crosses her arms. "I thought Tsunade told Sonic not to run in the house anyway!"

"Guess it must've slipped his mind." Kakashi answers with amusement clear in his voice. He walks over toward the kitchen. "I'm going to stop them before they break anything." They better not have or they will be facing a real ticked off Uchiha.

We genin follow the jonin into the neighboring room and stop in our tracks at the sight. All of the cabinets are completely open, most likely from the wind; their contents spilling out onto the counter below them. One thing that took a tumble is a bag of flour that must have been torn open; the proof being that the floor is covered with a thin layer of the white power after being agitated from the breeze and footsteps. Most of the chairs in the room aren't where they were before. They are either across the room or turned over. Miraculously, the table is still in its rightful place, unscathed. There are footprints and skate marks all over the floor (visible because of the flour). Also…are there some on the wall?

In the middle of the chaos are the two hedgehogs, both on opposite sides of the room from each other. Shadow is scowling at the other, crouching on, yes, on the table, flour gathering on the wood where his shoes are. He has his hand stretched out with the beginnings of yellow lightning forming in his palm.

Standing by the opposite wall, Sonic is completely focused on his rival in the room, a cocky smirk on his face. In his hands is a metal frying pan, held right in front of him in a defensive position, ready to deflect whatever Shadow is going to throw at him. His emerald eyes are full of confidence, saying, 'Bring it on!'.

Ruby irises blaze as the energy in his hand gets stronger. "Chaos…"

Puzzle pieces fitting together, I hold out my hand and shout, "Do not finish what you're about to say!" That move will destroy my entire wall!

Kakashi eye smiles, apparently finding this situation amusing. "Yeah Shadow, you don't want to fix another wall, do you?"

The ebony hedgehog glares at us, but lowers his arm. Sonic, in turn, puts down the pan while chuckling. Hinata is the third to recover from the scene. "D-Don't you th-think that you overreacted, S-Shadow?"

Shadow crosses his arms. "Well, I wouldn't have to take such extreme measures if a certain faker woke me up like a regular person!"

Sonic places a hand on his hip, smirking. "Hey, I was told to wake you up, so I did…in the funniest way possible." He says cheekily.

It's surprising that Sonic hasn't burst into flames by now. "Just watch your back, hedgehog."

"Alright, alright. Before you make any more death threats, Shadow, could you two please look around at the damage you've done?" Kakashi gestures to the battlefield. The two rivals blink and examine the area, like they just noticed the destruction.

"Damn."

"…We did this?"

"Sure did." Shikamaru yawns out.

"So, can you two clean this mess up?" I demand, glaring at both of them.

"Yeah, I can't really make breakfast-" Sakura gestures wildly. "-in this condition."

Sonic taps his foot and sighs in defeat. "I guess…since we kinda caused this." He glances at the paper towels on the counter, untouched. "I'll get the flour off of the floor and get the chairs." He turns to the other. "Shads, you can return all of the stuff to the cupboards, fair deal?"

He shrugs. "Whatever."

Sonic rolls his eyes. "Typical answer. Wanna see who can do it faster?" Ugh…was everything a race with him?

Competitiveness flashes in Shadow's eyes. "You're on, Faker."

The speedster grins. "On go. One…two…three…GO!"

And just like that, there is chaos again. We all watch as Shadow rapidly put up different cans and plates as Sonic moves the chairs back by the table before wiping up the spilled flour. A couple of taunts and teases are thrown between them as they work.

"You know, those two would make great maids." Choji comments.

Tenten scoffs. "After they make a complete mess of the place first."

"At least they're fast at it. They're already halfway done. Such show of their flames of youth!" Lee points out, stars in his eyes.

"More like their flames of disaster…" Neji mumbles.

"Done!" Two voices yell in unison and we all focus on the hedgehogs standing in front of us. Behind them, the kitchen is spotless, well…besides the footprints on the wall. (Imma have to get those later) Everything is where it is supposed to be and the flour is nowhere to be found. I think the floor shines more now than it did before.

"So…" Sonic rocks back and forth on the balls of his feet. "Who won?"

Shadow grunts. "Faker, obviously it was m-"

"It was a tie!" Naruto shouts, throwing his arms up in exasperation. He then pats his stomach. "Now that's settled, we get to cooking?"

Sakura hits him on the back of the head, not as hard as normal. "By 'we', you mean me, right baka?" The blonde rubs the back of his noggin, nervously laughing. The pinkette shakes her head, smirking. "That's what I thought. No one can compare to my cooking!" She marches her way toward the stove, whistling.

Shikamaru sighs. "This is why women are troublesome…"

"Just shut it, Shikamaru." Ino says, walking to her freshly cleaned seat. We all follow her lead.

When everyone takes a seat, the silver-haired jonin looks over to an impassive Shadow with a thoughtful expression on his face. The hedgehog catches his gaze. "What?"

Kakashi leans his cheek on his knuckles. "Nothing really, I'm just thinking about how you're able to attempt to use a Chaos spear when the Hokage told you to hide the emeralds."

Shadow opens his mouth to retort, but snaps it closed. Sonic covers for him. "Well, ya see…we wanted to keep one each in our quills! They are sharp if you haven't noticed." Oh yeah, we've noticed. "Because of that, we thought they'll be safe back there. We hid the others."

I snort. "You sure did. In my closet."

Kakashi raises an eyebrow. "In…his closet?"

"His room is at the end of the hall!"

"Because that makes it a great hiding spot, right?" Kiba remarks sarcastically.

"Speaking of rooms…" Kakashi eyes everyone at the table, sans me, Sonic, and Shadow. "After breakfast, all of you need to pack up your stuff." Sakura then passes out plates of waffles.

Naruto digs in before responding to our sensei's statement. "Yeah, yeah, sensei. We know." His tone isn't as peppy as it usually is.

"It was fun with all of us staying here." Ino says, swallowing the fluffy breakfast item.

"Got that right." Kiba agrees.

"Come on, guys! It's not like we won't see each other again." Sakura says.

"It's not the same, really." Tenten shrugs, sipping some water. "And plus, we won't be able to see Sonic often."

Hinata pushes her two fingers together. "W-We'll try to v-visit you, Sonic."

"When we aren't busy doing missions." Shino reminds the group and we all groan, remembering that we have to resume doing missions, which are mostly tedious D ranks.

"Aw, you guys don't have to worry about me." The blue speedster grins and throws his arms around me and Shadow. "I got these two to keep me company!" I shake off his arm and glare weakly at him while Shadow does the same.

"Oh yeah!" Lee turns to the ebony hedgehog. "Shadow, you can come visit us anytime you like!"

Shadow scoffs, continuing to eat. "Like I want to see any of you idiots."

Naruto laughs at his retort. "I can see right through that, Shadow! Sasuke pulls that all the time, but we all know he cares about us, and so do you!" The hedgehog grumbles under his breath and the hero playfully punches him. Then, all of a sudden, Sonic's and Shadow's backs start glowing light blue and red.

"Hey." Shikamaru starts, all laziness gone. He glances back and forth between them with sharp eyes. "Your backs are glowing."

Both of the fast moving rodents blink before pulling out their own Chaos emeralds. The gems are radiating very brightly, making the people and objects in the nearby area have a red and blue hue to them. "What's going on?" I ask.

Sonic furrows his brow. "I-I don't know." He turns to his neighbor. "Shadow? Do you have any idea?"

The addressed, who is staring intently at the gem, doesn't answer at first, but after a couple seconds, he responds, "Something's calling them."

Sonic seems even more bemused. "Calling them? What?" The confusion spreads across the table because now; all of us are wondering what in the heck Shadow is talking about. Something is calling the emeralds? But I don't hear anything.

"Think, Sonic." The hedgehog gazes at the other. "What's the only thing that can call, or better yet, control the Chaos emeralds?"

The confusion in emerald eyes is soon replaced by glee. "The Master Emerald!" Sonic looks back at the pulsing gem. "But how…" A smile threatens to split his face in half. "Of course, Knuckles!"

Shadow nods with a small smile of his own. "Exactly."

While these new names cleared things up for them, they only perplexed me more. The Master Emerald? Knuckles? The former has to be some kind of gem, obviously, but what does it do? And the latter…sounds like a friend of some sort, but how is he making the emeralds glow from where ever he is?

Before I could get one question out, Sonic and Shadow turn to us. The former chuckles a bit. "Well, it looks like we're going home, kids!"

"What? Seriously?" Already?

"Yep!"

"Wait, how do you know?" Naruto asks after picking his jaw off the floor.

"Okay, we have a friend named Knuckles who can tell the Master Emerald to attract the Chaos emeralds!"

Simultaneously, we ninja all look at Shadow for a better explanation. He sighs. "The Master emerald is a gem that can control all of the other emeralds. It also has more power than all of them combined." Wow, that's all I can say. "However, that power is usually contained inside, not to be used, but our friend, Knuckles, can tap into that power. He must've told the Master to call these gems."

"Man…so this is really it, huh?" Kiba leans back in his chair, looking at the two somewhat sadly.

"I believe so. We'll be back home any second now."

After hearing Shadow's words, we all say our goodbyes to them. Shadow returns them politely while Sonic gets out of his seat to give out hugs and high fives. He gives me a rough pat on the back and grins, "It's been fun."

I smirk at him. "Really? When? I must've missed it."

Sonic shakes his head and laughs before going over to Neji who conveniently has his head turned the other way. The hedgehog sobers up some. "Hey…I'm sorry for all of the things I did here. I regret all of those things I did to those people." Neji slowly turns to him, eyes blank. "If I could turn back time, I would to prevent all of those deaths." Sonic clenches his unoccupied fist. "Prevent Kabuto from ever taking me." He takes a deep breath. "Can we put the worst past behind us…" Sonic brings up a fist. "And remember the great times we had here?"

Neji eyes the hand for a moment before sighing. Am I seeing things, or is the Hyuuga actually smiling? "I can do that." He bumps Sonic's fist with his own.

The speedster smiles sincerely. "Thanks." The room is then filled with a white light so bright that I have to close my eyes and cover them with my hands. It lasts about two seconds before dying away. Removing my hands, I blink a few times, looking around the room.

They're gone.

Sonic and Shadow left, just like that. The only proof that they were here are their half-finished breakfasts. The others, having recovered from the blinding flash, just stare at the hedgehogs' empty seats.

"I'm gonna miss them…" Sakura says hollowly, leaning on the table.

"We all knew that it was going to happen eventually." Shino puts out there.

"Yeah. Now they're back home." Kakashi adds.

Naruto links his hands behind his back and looks up at the ceiling. "These past two weeks have been crazy…" I pick up a piece of my briefly forgotten waffle and chew it.

Yeah…they were…

Would I take back any of it?

No way.

My curse seal is gone now…

And I met two interesting characters who I won't mind seeing again.

Angel Island

Sonic's POV

The Chaos Control is taking longer than normal, but I don't really care right now. I'm going home. I can't believe it…I'm going home. Yes, I'll miss my new friends back in Konoha, but I'm more than happy to see my family again. It may be a dysfunctional one, but a family nonetheless.

Popping back into existence, the first thing I see is the Master Emerald surrounded by all of the Chaos Emeralds except the one's me and Shadow are holding. I turn my head his way and smile widely. He just responds with a roll of his eyes.

Then, the next thing I know, my breath is being pushed out of my lungs by a forceful hug. My ears are filled with a certain someone screaming my name. Knowing that she hasn't seen me in a long time, I let the hug last longer than usual before lightly prying her off of me. "Nice to see you too, Amy." Her eyes are glistening with unshed tears.

I'm then pulled into another hug (less forceful, mind you) and I immediately ruffle Tails' fur on his head and let out a chuckle. "Hey little bro! Long time no see!"

The kit looks like he'll die of happiness. "I was so worried about you, Sonic!" He turns to my rival. "You too, Shadow!"

Rouge, standing by Shadow, chuckles. "Worried is a severe understatement."

I'm about to respond to that when I'm put into a headlock by a certain echidna. "You thought you would come back without any punishment? Think again!" After struggling for a minute, I push the guardian away from me, laughing. He shows up in my line of sight with a smirk on his face. "Good to have you back man." He glances at Shadow. "Both of ya."

"It's good to be back." I say stretching.

"Same here." Shadow leans against the Master Emerald, relaxing.

"So, what happened? No…a better question is where did you go?" Rouge points to my black gloves. "I haven't seen that brand anywhere."

"You all want to know?" The four nod, showing rapt interest. "Well then, you all better get comfortable because I'm starting from the very beginning." Shadow perks his ears up, wanting to listen as well. I can't blame him. A lot of interesting things happened before he showed up. Clearing my throat, I start my story.

I describe all of my friends there and their powers as ninja first, then tell about when I first woke up. Thinking that Eggman captured me and being paranoid and all that. After that, I skip to when I had to basically test my worth against the ninja, fighting one vs. one. The Werehog is next and the only three who understand the form is Tails, Shadow, and Amy. I pause in my story so they could enlighten Rouge and Knuckles. When that's done, I go on about Konoha and how it looked like. I even talk about Tsunade and Iruka. Then I mention when Shadow came with the emeralds and cured me of my form. I tell them about when Shadow pulled a gun out on Sasuke and the others tease him about it.

The Ultimate Lifeform isn't amused.

Moving on, I explain about Tsunade wanting the emeralds and Shadow blowing a whole in her wall. After a bout of laughter, I continue talking about how the more powerful ninja held us until Shads said that he would fix it and help with the children (which he supposed to do today). Then I bring up that Lee wanted to spar with him, that I had to take away his emerald, and that I had to hide them in Sasuke's house. I pause there in my story for a split second before veering away from the truth of what really happened. I tell them that I went to watch the spar and that Shadow won. I continue to throw out lies.

I can't tell them that I killed hundreds of people.

Shadow doesn't call me out on it.

When I'm done, Amy speaks up first. "Wow…some world you went to! One filled with ninja with different powers…I would love to go there one day!" No you wouldn't, Amy…It's totally different from here. In more ways than one.

"Man, Espio would be jealous." Knuckles snickers.

"Interesting…" Rouge mutters, placing a hand on her hip. "How can a place like that exist? What even is it? Another dimension?"

"Seems like it, because regular Chaos Controls didn't work to come back here." Shadow adds, looking up at the sky.

"Well…it doesn't really matter what that place was." Tails' namesakes swish up and down as he smiles at me. "I'm just glad my brother is home from there after being gone for two weeks."

Yeah…it has been that long…

Would I take back any of it?

After all the damage I've caused?

Suffering?

Sadness?

No way.

I don't know how, but the friends I made back there make that tragic nightmare…

A memorable past.
