A/N: In which we realise that actually, Ven get's the weird 'I feel you' thing too!

Ventus sat suddenly, eyes wide as fear and exhaustion that wasn't his pumped through him. "Sora!" he gasped.

The others quickly sat up, looking at him in concern. "Hey, you okay? What's up?" asked Terra.

"I...I don't know. Sora just...He was scared. He's tired. I don't what he did, but it's completely exhausted him," Ventus replied slowly.

"Sora's your brother, right? Have you still not found him?" asked Aqua.

"No...Because Xehanort was looking for us, we figured it would be better not to obviously be looking for him. I vaguely know where he is, I just don't want Xehanort to hurt him or something," Ventus said quietly, hugging himself.

"Look, if you want to go and check it out..." Vanitas offered.

Ventus shook his head. "It'll take too long to accurately locate him, and I definitely don't want Xehanort finding him at the minute. Just...let me try something."

He lifted his hand, focusing, as Peter floated above him in interest and the others looked at him in confusion. He closed his eyes, trying to do what Sora suggested, then sighed as it failed.

"I can't do it..." he mumbled, frowning, before blinking. He turned to Vanitas. "How much longer do we have here?" he asked.

"Couple'a hours. Why?"

"I need to sleep."

"Uhhh..."

"Just...let me sleep, okay? I won't take too long," he promised, lying down again and closing his eyes. Letting out a slow breath, he tried to relax, focusing completely on Sora.

He opened his eyes and quickly pushed himself up, running forward. "Sora!" he shouted, looking around.

"Ven?"

He turned, practically throwing himself at the smaller boy. "Are you okay? What happened? You really scared me..."

Sora smiled. "Sorry. We were just in a lot of trouble, and the only thing I could think of was to try and join our hearts and let our power out."

"At least you're okay," Ven replied, hugging him again.

"Did you come to check up on me?" asked Sora, confused.

Ven blinked. "No, I had another reason. I tried to summon your Keyblade to give you some power, but I couldn't do it, so I wondered if we could try doing it the other way round?"

Sora considered. "That might work, I guess. So you'd put power in your Keyblade and I'd summon it?"

"Right. I'll spare as much as I can."

"Okay," Sora said, and Ven smiled before lifting his hand. Wayward Wind appeared, and he concentrated, it dimly glowing white as he tried to put as much energy as he could into it. Finally it finished, and he sighed.

"That's the best I can do," he said apologetically.

Sora smiled. "It's more than enough," he reassured, before lifting his hand. Wayward Wind quickly appeared, and the light from it quickly sank into him, lighting him up slightly. It eventually faded, and he allowed it vanish with a sigh. "Yeah, this is definitely enough. Thanks, Ven," he said.

Ven nodded. "I'm glad I could help. Do you need me to do anything else?"

"No, this is fine. I'll share it out between Riku and Kairi, and we should be okay until we regain our own strength, so don't worry."

"Just be careful. I feel like something bad is going to happen," Ven said seriously.

"We will be. We have lots of people looking after us here anyway," Sora reassured, before hugging him again. "I'm gonna give this to Riku and Kairi, so I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"Right. See you," Ven said, returning the gesture before closing his eyes.

Ventus opened his eyes, giving a brief yawn as he pushed himself up. Vanitas and Aqua were in the air with Peter, Aqua obviously attempting to catch the two boys as she shouted at them. Terra lay a little way from Ventus, staring up at the sky.

"They drew on my face," Ventus proclaimed flatly.

"Yep."

"Is it still there?"

"No, Aqua washed it off when she realised."

Ventus sighed, rubbing a hand across his cheek anyway. Terra chuckled before also sitting up, glancing at him. "Are you okay now? You were sort of freaking out back then."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Sora's okay too, and I gave him some of my strength, so he'll be better soon."

Terra eyed him. "You two have a weird connection. Any reason why?"

Ventus shrugged. "Sora repaired my heart with his own about five years ago. We've just been bonded like this ever since, though we never really noticed because we were always together."

"Sounds rough. It can't be easy, being apart when you're so close."

"I guess not. We do miss each other, but with me and Vani always travelling around, and Sora being taught by that Yen Sid guy, we don't really notice. Plus, every time we sleep at the same time, we can meet and talk."

"Yen Sid? Is that who he's with?" asked Terra, surprised.

Ventus glanced up. "Yeah. Do you know him?"

"I know where he lives, at least. I can take you there if you want."

Ventus grinned, then hesitated before glancing up. "...I'll ask Vani first. He may think it's too dangerous."

"You don't have to follow everything he says, y'know," Terra pointed out.

"Yeah, but...It just feels right being together."

Yen Sid sat behind his desk, fingers steepled as he gazed at Mickey. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, Master. I didn't understand what happened at the time, but their power eliminated all the Heartless and Unversed in the land."

"To have the strength to completely quell darkness...Maybe they are who we've been waiting for," Yen Sid murmured.

"I'm a bit concerned by the amount of darkness which attacked them though, Master. Even together their hearts shouldn't have attracted so much, especially if Kairi is Heart and Riku is Darkness. Surely Sora's Light is not enough-"

"You have witnessed their power, Mickey. They are exceedingly strong, and though they don't always exert that full strength, there is no way to tell how much of it can be sensed by the forces of darkness. Even if he doesn't know it, Sora may be a danger to his friends."

"Sora's Light can't be brighter than Kairi's Heart. A Princess of Heart is said to have the most pure light of any being!"

"There is no way to tell what is 'impossible', or 'can't be'. We also do not know for sure it is Sora's Light that drew them. There are many factors we do not know or have not considered yet."

Mickey hesitated, then nodded. "What should we do now? Are they still safe here?"

"My powers cannot hide them forever. The last of their training may need to be done soon, so that they are ready to head out."

"They're not nearly strong enough to handle-"

"They will have to be, Mickey," Yen Sid imperiously.

A/N: Imperiously is like, the best word. It just seems to exude 'I'm bigger than you na na na na naaa'
