You're Mine.

DuBois had savored this moment for her entire life… The moment she would slay the biggest kill. She would have the king of the beasts head upon her wall for all to see. This would certainly prove that she was the best at what she did.
It was only an added bonus that the lion she had was the most famous lion in the entire world.
Lions did not dance. Lions did not travel. Lions did not show as much restraint to food as this one did.
One might question how this could be a real lion. She didn't, for she was about to prove it. This kitty would cut just like a real lion. She'd done this before with someone else's kill. They hadn't the stomach to cut off the thing's head.
Chantel DuBois was envious on that day. How could one have gotten so lucky as to score a lion on their first hunt? When she herself had been searching for it her whole life since she had strangled her first parrot?
She vowed she would get her own lion and voila there it was!
It was a perfect lion. Now it was at least. She had broken that old lion within it. Now it looked proper. It was covered in blood and its hair was a mess, the way it should be.
It had that broken look in its eyes, an accepting and uncaring look. It didn't care what would happen to it, like a true lion would be.
That was why she had waited for a week before doing this, before she would tear the lion apart.
Now was the time as she approached the cell door…

"Are we-a not going too fast-a?" Stefano held on tight to their speeding vehicle. He eyed the crazy penguin whose tongue was sticking out with its head out the window.
"No!" Gia said positive and determined. They weren't slowing down now! Not when they were almost there! "We only go faster!"
"Are you sure-a?" The sea lion asked, frowning. They were going so fast already…
"I am positive!" Gia assured with a nod and turned to the leader penguin. "Can you not go even faster?"
Skipper looked at her. "Doll, you're insane. But yeah. Kowalski!"
"Sir the speed at which we're going added to the streets does not allow for-" Kowalski tried but was cut short.
"Oh I will do it!" Gia flipped the switch on the Nuclear Reactor 2.
As the penguins were forced to hold on to the seats of the Luxury Assault Recreational Vehicle 2, Skipper had to compliment to his frightened lieutenant. "That lion's all kinds of lucky ain't he?"
Kowalski opened his mouth to respond but was cut short again.
Skipper shrugged. "Eh, we'll see."

As Alex saw the last of his hallucinations fade away, he knew it was time. It wasn't seconds later that the cell door opened and he shut his eyes, not caring to see his captor gloat. He just wanted it over and done with. Today, he was going to die. He would go up in flames and…so be it.

"Are we almost there?" Gia asked.
Skipper nodded. "Closer than you think!" He said before the whole car drove right into a wall.
The L. A. R. V. 2. took out DuBois' men and had them slammed right up against the wall. The car also managed to free the animals that were caged there in her lair. They ran off happy to be free.
Gia jumped out of the car as the dust cleared, whipping her head around in panic. "Where is Alex?!"
Kowalski stuck his head out the car window with a drawn map. "He should be in the basement!"
The jaguar was running down stairs after only a second. She reached the bottom step which came to a locked door. She peered through the little window and screamed. "Alex!"
"Gia?" Alex's voice mirrored back, opening his eyes. He just now realized how close DuBois had the saw to his throat. He screamed out just seconds later, louder than he ever had before and it felt like his throat had been ripped out…
…with joy because Gia slammed the door in.
The lion was so glad to see her…you know…past the saw being held over his him and DuBois.
Gia growled a low feral growl before she lunged at the evil woman.
Alex had never been more happy to see Gia…or more proud of her.

Soon enough Alex was unstrapped from his cuffs, rubbing his wrists and surrounded by animals he knew and loved…
"Alex…" Marty sighed in relief as he hugged his best friend upon their reunion.
"Marty…" Alex hugged the zebra back in relief as well. He was so happy to be back…
"Lion…" Vitaly walked up to them as the friends parted their embrace. His large arms were crossed over his chest and he nodded. "Good to have you back. Sort of."
Alex chuckled… "It's good to be back. Completely."
"You had us worried there, psychotic lion." Skipper said and glared firmly. "Don't do it again!"
"I won't." The lion swore, raising a paw in promise.
The circus animals cheered, for Alex was returned to them alive.
Gia was standing off to the side, Alex noticing her there. He had to excuse himself from the festivities, going over to her.
In fact she walked up to him the last couple of feet between them, her paws clasped in front of her. "I am glad you are back."
"Yeah. It's good being back." Alex nodded.
"And…you are okay?" Gia wanted to make sure.
"Of course." Alex replied. "I'm fine. Real fine." He would play it off forever and pretend this week hadn't happened. No one needed to know. It was between him and DuBois.
"Good…but Alex now that you are back there is something you should know." The jaguar told him.
Alex nodded because it sounded like it was important. "Sure. What is it?"
Gia kissed him tenderly.
But THIS…was between him and Gia.
Gia pulled back with a small smirk. "You are mine."
Fin. :)
