Birds of a Feather

Skip is like a blast from the past. I see myself in him.

Threatened by would-be killers, living through traumatic experiences, and love for baseball and baseball cards, all bring him and I together, whether we like it or not. And I, for one, do like it.

Skip being in my life makes me feel like a child again, back in the good old days when mom and dad still lived. And I think my generosity toward him has made a bond that can't be broken. And because I love his mother, too, maybe he can be our son soon.
