Jamie opened his eyes to find that he was in complete darkness. His shoulders burned so he went to move, but found that his hands were chained above his head, and the tips of his toes, just barely met the ground. Jamie tried to remember how he got here, but he had no idea. The last thing that he remembered, was finishing up his shift and walking out to his car. He couldn't remember if he had made it to his car or not. Jamie heard footsteps overhead, and concluded that he was most likely in a basement or wine cellar. A shiver ran down his spine as fear started to set in. How had taken him and why?

Just then the door burst open and light flooded the small cellar. Jamie squinted his eyes against the light. A rather large man, clanked his way down the aged wooden stairs. Jamie tried to sink as far into the wall as he could. The man stopped at the bottom of the staircase and glared at Jamie.

"Good, you're awake." The man walked to the far corner of the cellar and switched on the single light bulb that dangled from the ceiling. Jamie jumped slightly when the man appeared next to him. Jamie's heart beat wildly in his chest. The man placed his giant hand over Jamie's mouth. "I need you to promise me that you will be quiet." Jamie just stared at the man, with fear in his eyes. "Mama, just laid down for a nap, so I only have about 20 minutes to get you out of here." Jamie stared at the man in shock. "Can you be quiet?" Jamie shook his head yes. "Good." The man disappeared into the back corner again and came back with a big pair of bolt cutters. "I'm going to cut you down, try not to make too much noise." Jamie shook his head again. Right as the man went to cut the chains, the cellar door flew open and an angry middle aged woman came rushing down the stairs.

"What do you think you are doing, Junior?"

"W-well, y-you see, h-he n-needed to g-go t-to the b-bathroom." The woman slapped the back of Junior's head.

"He was just trying to get free, you fool." Junior stepped back and hung his head. Jamie met the woman's eyes. "If you ever try to trick my Junior, you will regret it." The woman went to leave.

"What do you want from me?" The woman stopped and turned back around to face Jamie.

"I want you dead!"

"Why? What did I do to you?"

"YOU! You took my baby girl from me! You should have saved her! You were the first one on the scene. You could have saved her!" The woman had big tears rolling down her face. Jamie racked his brain, and suddenly it clicked.

Two weeks ago, he had been the first one on the scene of a robbery. The robbers got away, but they had shot a teenage girl and the store owner. The girl was already gone, when Jamie had arrived, so he had focused on saving the store owner's life.

"Ma'am, your daughter was already gone when I arrived." The woman rushed at Jamie and placed her hands around his throat.

"If you had gotten there sooner, she would still be here." Rage was burning bright in the woman's eyes, as the darkness started to take over.

Jamie awoke to total darkness again. His throat burned and he had long since lost feeling in both of his arms. His stomach rumbled and Jamie wondered how long he had been locked in the cellar. It was so dark that Jamie didn't know if he had his eyes open or not. He let his head drop to his chest and gave into the darkness.

Jamie had lost all track of time. He knew he had been locked in the basement for at least a couple days, based on his extreme thirst and hunger. No one had been down in the cellar since the woman had choked him. Jamie started to fear that he would die down there alone.

You're giving up?

"Danny?" Jamie looked into the darkness trying to find his brother.

What, you're done fighting?

"There's nothing I can do."

Of course there is, fight.

"Fight who? There's no on down here. I can't escape these chains." Tears spilled down Jamie's cheeks. "I'm afraid I'm going to die."

Don't be. You don't believe that I can find you?

"I-I don't know anymore." Jamie waited for a response but none came. "Danny?" Jamie hung his head again. He heard footsteps upstairs again, but it sounded like ten or more people. The cellar door was kicked down and he heard someone yell.

"I found him!" Jamie tried to fight the darkness, but he was so weak. Suddenly, there were hands on him and he was being cut down, and he found himself in familiar arms.

"I got you, Kid. You're going to be alright." Tears rolled down Danny's face as he hugged his baby brother close.

Jamie woke up to a loud beeping. When he opened his eyes, he was met with a bright white room, and a soft bed underneath him. He looked to his right and found Danny fast asleep in a hospital chair.

"Danny?" Jamie's voice was weak, but Danny jumped from his chair and was at Jamie's bed side in an instant.

"Hey, kid. How're feeling?"

"Good, considering. What's the damage?"

"Dislocated shoulder, bruised neck, and severe malnutrition and dehydration."

"How long?"

"How long, what?"

"How long was I trapped in that cellar?"

"Four days." Jamie just stared at Danny.

"I knew you'd find me."

"We almost didn't." Danny kept his eyes on the ground and continued. "If it wasn't for that Ladies son, you would still be down there. He turned his mother in and told us where we could find you."

"He tried to help me escape, in the beginning." Danny met Jamie's eyes.

"None of this is your fault. That girl was gone before you were on the scene. Her mom is just crazy."

"I know, Danny." Danny smiled at Jamie.

"Good. You up for visitors?"

"Of course." Danny walked to the door and opened. The entire Reagan clan poured into the room and started celebrating that Jamie was alive and well.

Thank you for everyone that has followed along. I really enjoyed writing these one-shots. But this will be the last one in this set.
