Okay guys I know its been like a century the last time that I updated, but I haven't really had that much motivation lately. I promise i'm not dropping the story it might just take time to update. But at least I got this out right :'D I truly am sorry for having to make you guys wait so long. As for my other story unavoidable consequences it has been put on hold. I don't really like the quality and I'm thinking of re-writing it and fixing somethings with it, but i'm not sure when i'll get to that :P As promised i'm going to put a small summary so you guys can remember what happened last chapter since its been awhile. (Even I had to go back and re-read it x'D)
Summary:
Kuroko and Misaka ended up sleeping next to each other but Kuroko wasn't able to get a wink of sleep due to the fact that her onee-sama loved to toss and turn and occasionally grope her._. Kuroko ends up finding out about the gash on Misaka's side and she helps bandage it. She also finds out about the electromasters occasional fights. Misaka offers to go shopping with the teleporter but Kuroko declines because the abundant amount of Judgment work she hadsto do. Misaka makes plans with Saten instead but on her way to meeting the younger girl ,she's attacked by a man in a black cloak.
Saten stirred her drink around lazily with her straw her eyes glued on the window beside her. Saten had been waiting for the electromaster to meet up with her at Josephs, but it had been at least an hour since she had last talked to the older girl, and she had become slightly worried. She knew the older girl could take care of herself if anything happened but…
Saten let out a groan, letting her forehead hit the table. She had already tried to call the other girl several times but all of them lead to the electromaster's voice mail. 'I hope she's alright' she thought. 'It's not like her to not show up either.' Saten sighed as she got up from the table, and made her way outside the restaurant. She paused looking toward the distance. "Should I try to look for her?" She mumbled to herself "Of course she could be almost anywhere."
"Or maybe, should I go to the judgment office?" She whispered looking in the other direction. This was a rather difficult decision, She knew that the electromaster could be almost anywhere and if she was in trouble what could she do? But if she went to the judgment office and it ended up being a false alarm she would be wasting both Kuroko's and Uiharu's time, who already had bucket loads of work to do…
"Khhh" Saten groaned, ruffling her hair before taking off into a sprint. 'Misaka-san, you better not be just ditching me!'
Uiharu typed away at her computer trying to fit the puzzle pieces together for a recent case she and Kuroko has been working on tirelessly, but she just couldn't fit anything together. She sighed stretching her arms and sighing in pleasure as she felt her joints pop. There had been several disappearances recently, but they were all very strange. Everyone who had disappeared were all last seen in very public places, but they seemed to vanish in thin air. No kidnappings, no accidents, no murders, no witnesses. They were just gone. There was no specific person it happened to either. The disappearances ranged from children, students, and even a few teachers and scientists. It just didn't make any sense.
"Shirai-san can you pass me case file No.48 so I can-" Uiharu began but stopped when she noticed the teleporters head resting on her keyboard and a soft snore could be heard if listened hard enough. 'Jeez when did she fall asleep?' Uiharu got up from her chair and walked up to the teleporters desk and placed a hand on the girls shoulder.
"Shirai-san?" Uiharu whispered quietly trying to rouse the other girl from her little nap. "Hey Shirai-sannn?" Uiharu shook the girl a little "I know you're tired but we have a lot of things to look through today."
Kuroko let out a light yawn as her eyes fluttered open to look at the source of disruption of her peaceful but unfortunately short nap.
"What is it Uiharu?" Kuroko asked tiredly with a bit of annoyance in her voice as she sat up, straightening herself up groggily and glancing at the short haired girl with tired eyes.
"Ahh, well I wondering if I could have case file No.48, so I could look over something." Uiharu asked feeling slightly bad for waking the other girl after noticing the bags under her eyes.
Kuroko simply nodded, and rummaged through a stack of files before handing Uiharu the correct one. "Here, although we've looked at this file a good number of times before." Kuroko mumbled as she stared at the file that now resided in the other girls hand.
"Thanks, and I know. But something just doesn't feel right like we missed something important." Uiharu admitted.
"Yeah- I know what you mean." Kuroko said between a yawn.
"umm, Shirai-san" Uiharu began "Is everything alright. You seem to be even more tired than I am."
"Yeah I'm fine." Kuroko said as she stretched her body. "Onee-sama just kept me up all night"
"Huh?" Uiharu gave Kuroko a dumbfounded look, but her face started to turn a shade of red as she gave her friends response just a little more thought. "W-what are you trying to say Shirai-san!" Uiharu yelled pointing an accusing finger at the teleporter.
As if just realizing how misleading her words were Kuroko's cheeks soon gained a pink tint.
"That's not what I meant!" Kuroko quickly defended "Onee-sama and I were-" The thoughts of last night quickly rushed back into Kuroko's memory. Even telling Uiharu that they had slept together would be hard to explain and still a bit misleading.
"We- We were talking" Kuroko lied.
"Talking?" Uiharu questioned, narrowing her eyes suspiciously as she saw the nervousness in the teleporters face.
"You're lying to me aren't you-" Uiharu smirked as she began but stopped in mid-sentence as Kuroko grabbed her by the wrist and teleported her to her chair across the room.
"Wahhh!" Uiharu let out a startled scream as she landed on the chair from a few inches in the air.
"pfttt" Kuroko couldn't help but stifle a laugh as the short hair stumbled around to regain her balance and hold onto the file she had in her hand at the same time.
"Shirai-san!" Uiharu yelled with a bit of anger in her voice. But before Uiharu could finish her rant to Kuroko of how it wasn't polite to teleport people unexpectedly the door slammed open revealing a familiar face.
"Saten-san?" Both Kuroko and Uiharu said in unision as the level 0 stumbled into the room out of breath.
"I- Think Something- Might Have-Happened-To Misaka-san" Saten said between breaths.
"What?!" Kuroko immediately teleported in front of the girl and grabbed her by her shoulders tightly. "What do you mean?!"
Saten flinched slightly by the teleporters roughness "Well" Saten began "I talked to Misaka-san earlier and we had agreed to meet up at Josephs but she was a no show, and when I tried to call her several times but it went to voicemail."
Kuroko let her hands fall from the level zero's shoulders and gritted her teeth together as memories of the several disappearances of students had begun to resurface in her mind.
"Maybe Misaka-san decided to do something else? And the reason she didn't pick up is because her phone died?" Uiharu comforted after seeing the obvious distress in the level 4's face.
"That's preposterous!" Kuroko yelled harshly "Onee-sama would never abandon a friend!" she spat "And furthermore if Onee-sama's phone were to die, she could simply recharge it with her ability!"
Uiharu was quite shocked at the sudden outburst. Usually Kuroko wasn't the kind of person to loose her temper so quickly... but then again this was Misaka-san we're talking about.
"Geez, cool down shirai-san, don't take out your frustration on Uiharu." Saten lectured, now in complete control of her breathing.
"But-" Kuroko began but stopped when she saw the truth in her words. 'That's right, Uiharu definitely didn't deserve that. All she was trying to do was comfort me but I...'
The teleported sighed, placing her hand to her forehead, lightly grasping at her bangs. "Sorry Uiharu, I was already frustrated and I took it out on you." Kuroko said with a sad smile and tired eyes.
The anger in the flower girl's face dissipated immediately 'Did shirai-san really just apologize? The fatigue really must have gotten to her.'
"I-Its fine." Uiharu said awkwardly and gave Saten an appreciative smile for standing up for her. "But more importantly we have to find Misaka-san."
Kuroko dropped her hand from her face and nodded determinedly. "I'll head out right now and begin searching around Josephs." The teleporter began "In the mean time can you track Onee-sama's phone and send me the location of its last GPS signal Uiharu?"
"Right" Uiharu nodded "But remember Shirai-san don't rush into something dangerous by yourself again..." She lectured worriedly.
Kuroko clenched her hands tightly 'If something were to happen to Onee-sama... If she was in trouble right in front of me, there's no way i'd idly stand by and wait for backup to show up.'
"I won't" Kuroko lied before abruptly disappearing from the room not giving the short hair girl time to respond, then re appearing on the roof of the building.
Kuroko stepped off the building and began consecutively teleporting herself until she reached Josephs.
As she got closer and closer to her destination she glanced at every alleyway she passed by from above. But there was still no sign of the chestnut haired girl.
She couldn't hold back any longer. The dark thoughts began tearing at her already fatigue driven mind. 'How could I have left Onee-sama alone?!' She mentally scolded herself 'Especially after finding out that she had been being attacked by several people, or the fact that she's injured... I truly am an idiot!'
She was pulled out of her dark thoughts when her phone began vibrating. Kuroko stopped teleporting and landed on a nearby roof, pulling out her phone, quickly scanning the screen. It was a text message from Uiharu and the location of Onee-sama's phone. After memorizing the location Kuroko pocketed her phone and made her way toward the alleyway.
"Please be safe Onee-sama" Kuroko whispered to herself quietly, a bad feeling starting to form in her gut. She wasn't sure what she would find when she would get there. To be perfectly honest she was terrified. The thought of something happening to her Onee-sama was almost to much bare. There would be no else to blame but herself...
Now in the suspected alleyway Kuroko warily began to make her through it glancing at the graffitied walls 'What was Onee-sama doing here?' the teleporter thought to herself 'It seems like a sort of place a delinquent would decide to hang out.' Kuroko felt her heart stop as the gekota shaped phone came into view. Kuroko quickened her pace, skidding to a halt as she reached the object.
Kuroko felt her hands begin to shake as she picked up the familiar phone. The screen was completely destroyed, the green paint was chipped away on several parts of the phone, and one of the frogs eye's was completely torn off. Kuroko collapsed to her knee's feeling tears starting to burn at the corners of her eyes. 'This can't be happening' Kuroko frantically whipped her head around looking for any other sign of the electromaster. The teleporter completely froze when something else caught her eye.
Blood...
Kuroko's eye's widened, and her body began to shake uncontrollably. 'I-it couldn't possibly be onee-sama's blood' Kuroko wanted to run, she didn't want to know the truth she was absolutely terrified. Kuroko weakly got up, following the trail of blood. A small black form began to come into view. As Kuroko got closer she felt like collapsing, no... she felt like teleporting herself into a wall.
Kuroko grasped the tattered object and looked over it. 'This...this is definitely Onee-sama's' as Kuroko eye's traveled downward her heart broke. In the teleporters hands she held the electromasters now tattered and bloodied brazer. All the strength in the teleporters knees dissipated and she collapsed on the ground, Loud sobs could be heard echoing through out the alleyway. Kuroko hugged the destroyed brazer against herself. 'This can't be happening' Kuroko cried 'This is all my fault.'
Well, I know this is kinda short but I wanted to keep the discovery and what really happened in separate chapters. What do you guys think? I promise the next chapter won't be as dark. We'll get more of Misaka's POV and what happened to her. I already started it so it should be out soon :)
